Netbooks?
Just got a link to this. Basically: Netflix, but with books.
On one hand: awesome.
On the other hand, I'm not that excited about just one more thing that could hurt local libraries.
Also, the selection isn't great. Very, very mainstream, from what I've seen. And I'm wondering if they're only carrying books of a certain size, because of the postal fees. I don't see Bill Watterson or Berkeley Breathed in there.
Still, I'm glad to see something that might get more folks to read more often.

Forty years ago this month, the gay rights movement began with the Stonewall riots in New York City, as gays and lesbians demanded an end to the persecution they had long endured. Saturday
Had a major, unexpected expense yesterday. Ouch.
Also, the storm puppy threw up yesterday, which had me worried about whether or not he was ill, how ill he might be, what I could do about it, etc.
My sister's having her first child in a few months, and I'm going up for a visit. The storm puppy can't come along, because I'll be staying with my parents, and my father is super-allergic to dogs. I have a couple of options about who can keep the storm puppy while I'm gone, but they're not very good.

Tuesday
I just wrote a long post, but three-fourths of the way through I realized that I was deep into a rant about my job. About the state of American society, but also about my job. In a way that I'm not comfortable posting in public. So that's gone now. Here's what it boiled down to: shape up, American society! I greatly prefer being an optimistic ray of sunshine to being an indignant curmudgeon, but you don't make it easy.
