Podcast Chart Trick
The podcast book is now available and I've been thinking a lot about the parallels between book, music, and podcast distribution.
On this episode, I talk about why I focus on one distributor for my book (and podcast).
Sort of ... Unfortunately for podcasters, our audiences are split between Android and iPhone, so you really need two distribution options to do this right.

Your Biggest Opportunity For Podcasting Growth
More thoughts on Podfest Multimedia Expo and its real value, as well as the real value of events like it. Even if you find it difficult to get to a big event like Podfest, there are multiple local/regional events that can provide you with similar opportunities, which I talk about on this episode.
I was invited along with Dave Jackson from School Of Podcasting and a few other podcasters to visit a "dungeon." And yes, that's exactly what you think it is.
Perhaps surprising to some is how similar Podfest and "the dungeon" were. More on that in this episode. For a 100%-dungeon recording, check out Dave's experience in the episode, Night At The Bondage Barn.
Also, the podcast book is now available. I'll have more info on that in future episodes.

Podfest 2019 - Day 3
Another exciting day at Podfest 2019. Something that was very apparent to me today was how open-minded podcasters are. I talk about this and also how important it is that we get our messages out, even when it's scary.
Also, I'm going to a bondage club tonight. Or maybe it's technically a dungeon. All in the name of podcasting, I assure you.

Podfest 2019 - Day 2
Another update from Podfest 2019... I talk about my new approach to conferences and how it's working. I also share on opportunity for you to get more listeners by introducing your podcast to a new (but similar) audience.

Podfest Multimedia Expo
My book on podcasting is coming. As in, it's being released next week.
Needless to say, things have been pretty crazy getting all the last-minute details for this release taken care of. And that's why you haven't heard from me for the last month.
But the book is done and I'm back.
In a few hours, I'll be getting on a plane and headed to Orlando for Podfest Multimedia Expo. If you're there, let's connect.
And if you're not there, make sure you subscribe to this podcast, because I'll be doing live episodes from the road.

Gimlet Media – A $230 Million Bargain?
Spotify has acquired Gimlet Media and people are losing their shit.
Spotify obviously has a lot of money, so why purchase Gimlet Media and not another great podcast production company? What can independent podcasters learn from this? I talk about these things and more in this episode.

MAGA Kid Rehabilitation Tour – Lessons For Podcasters
"MAGA Kid" is in full-on spin mode right now, trying to convince liberal Americans they didn't see what they saw in his infamous video at The Indigenous Peoples March over the weekend in Washington, DC.
His interview on TODAY has some great lessons for podcasters...

A Podcasting Lesson From The "MAGA Kids" Situation
A group of kids from a Catholic high school goes to Washington, DC to attend an anti-abortion rally and soon finds themselves way over their heads. Multiple incidents are caught on video, which is spread everywhere.
It's a lesson in how messages are spread. It's a lesson in tolerance (or lack of tolerance). And for podcasters and other people who put messages out via media, it's a lesson about how those messages are perceived.
Every podcaster has to deal with the same thing the people in the "MAGA Kids" situation has had to deal with. Fortunately, what we deal with is rarely as controversial or extreme.

Podcast Awards – What You Missed
You didn't miss a lot, according to Jennifer Longworth of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur Podcast and dozens of other online comments I saw when seeking opinions for this episode.
I checked out the online replay to see it for myself. On this episode, I share my personal review and give thoughts on how to make podcasting (and podcasting awards) better as the industry moves forward.
