The Top 20 Moments in the Extended DU (10-6)
Welcome back to my month-long countdown of my favorite moments from the minis, one-shots and limited series from the Descendants Universe.
I’d like to speak a minute about a bone-headed move I made early on when setting up the structure of the DU stories. The shtick of this site is that all of the Descendants stuff is basically a comic book franchise only presented in prose instead of sequential art. To that effect, we have the main series, which is obviously ongoing, and then the other storie...

SIMaS Chapter 12 – Paradigms Shifting Without a Clutch
This entry is part 12 of 12 in the series So I Married a SupervillainLink took a deep, steadying breath at the question before responding. “Honey; I know that I should have learned my lesson by now, and that in the coming weeks and months, I’ll probably regret asking the following question,” Mr. Cross was giving him another small unappreciative look, but Link had long since stopped caring about his approval. “But: What does ‘the other side’ of your world mean?”

The Descendants #72: Turmoil Returns Chp. 3
This entry is part 32 of 32 in the series Current“Hello, conspicuous consumption.” said Ian, looking around at Issac’s suite wile his brother pushed the luggage cart in.
The main room was round with a high ceiling and a crystal chandelier. A C-shaped couch sat at a ninety-degree angle to the door, facing a huge television screen. In an alcove, its own wall curved like those of the main room, was a full bar. Behind the couch, separated from the rest of the room was a small but functional kitche...

The Top 20 Moments of the Extended DU (15-11)
Welcome back to my month long look at my favorite parts of the non-mainline stories in the Descendants Universe! In case you missed it, I put up a bonus article Monday concerning the shenanigans going on at DC comics that you can find
here
. Warning: it’s an angry rant just like everyone’s articles about DC and their co-publisher, Dan Didio have been this month and not in keeping with the upbeat and constructive kick I’ve been on recently. Tread with caution.
But that’s that article and this is...

Descendants: LA Annual #2 – Copacetic
This entry is part 13 of 13 in the series Descendants: LA Volume 2By the time the fire at the apartment building was out and clean-up arranged for the penthouse battleground, the sun was scrapping the horizon and the heroes of both coasts were tired. It was Felix that suggested the y retire somewhere to talk over the events of the past day.
What the visiting Descendants and most of his teammates besides Lydia didn’t expect was for that place to be a Chinese restaurant called ‘Panda Time!’.

DC, No
This is the bonus article I mentioned. Friday’s regular article is

While I’m not a known personality in the comics community or anything, I am someone who is involved in and actively promotes the Superhero genre and yes, I do have aspirations for writing some stories about my favorite mainstream characters one day.
And if I want to be part of that world and this community, it would be irresponsible to let what happened last week with DC comics go by without comment and yes, condemnation....

The Descendants #72: Turmoil Returns Chp. 2
This entry is part 31 of 31 in the series CurrentIt was almost hypnotic, watching Cyn eat. Even after years and hearing the science behind the girl’s incredible metabolism, it was mind-bending in a way. The huge stack of pancakes kept getting smaller without any sign of where all that cooked batter and syrup actually went once it disappeared into her ever-chewing mouth.
She wasn’t even paying attention to what she was shoveling in her mouth. While one hand speared pancakes, the other was tappi...

The Top 20 Moments of the Extended DU (20-16)
This is my September. This is my time of year.
Yup, I’m a fan of Linkin Park , you’re just going to have to accept that. Anyway, the point of that song paraphrase is that yes, it is indeed September and September is my birth month (the big day is this coming Monday in case you want to say ‘sup in the comments).
Last year, as a little gift to myself, I did a little bit of bragging by looking back and recalling my Top 20 favorite moments from the main series . It wasn’t just about it being my birth...

The Spider’s Seven #23 – The Execution Part 1
Aidan stared at the empty plate in front of him ruefully. His captors were mocking him, feeding him rare steaks, which was acceptable, but always adding potatoes, green beans or broccoli just to mock that fact that he was a man again thanks to The Spider’s meddling with his place in the natural order.
What bothered him most is that he ate and even enjoyed them.
Like a human. A worthless, weak human. He’d thought he’d shed his connection to that mewling race of apes and transcended. He would hav...
