5 Types of Fanfic I Can’t Stand
Hey guys, Nano is still chugging along, though I’m 2,000 words behind thanks to getting an epically bad night’s sleep on Day 1 and a headache Day 2.
Every year, NaNoWriMo is a special challenge for me because I already turn out ~8-10k words weekly for the site. This year I no different, plus I’m grinding it hard to get Rune Breaker: Evil Unto Evil out there and to get stuff done for the next round of releases for the Descendants books.
Therefore, in order to cut down on some things that take up...

Rune Breaker: Chapter 43 – Pele
This entry is part 1 of 1 in the series Evil Unto Evil (Rune Breaker, #4)Through the lens of an adult, the mind of the younger self is often clouded and inscrutable. Armed with the experience of years and the accumulated knowledge of the same, it was difficult to fathom what processes of the mind brought about the daft beliefs and profound misunderstandings and mis-rememberings of childhood.
What she had thought were her earliest memories were of the mines, scrabbling in the tight spaces only...

Descendants #73 – Give Thanks Chp. 2
This entry is part 37 of 37 in the series CurrentAs Warrick pulled into one of the pick-up spaces outside the Grocery Beast supermarket, it occurred to him that he’d never ordered groceries for pick-up before. Back in New York, he didn’t even know where their local place, General Store Grocers was located or even if they had a physical store and not just a warehouse.
Anything that didn’t need to be picked out in person was ordered online and in about an hour there would be a surly high-schoole...

Projekt November 2
Just so you know, this isn’t going to be you normal blog post. This is going to be posted on November first, which many of you who follow me, or just writers in general, know to be the start of
National Novel Writing Month
.
For those of you who don’t know, National Novel writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is an event designed to get more people to get off their asses and put some words to paper. A LOT of people always talk about wanting to write a book, or all the ideas they have and NaNoWriMo is an ex...

Dawn on Ere Chps 1 & 2
Prologue
Moonlight transformed the frozen Chordini scrub forest into an alien landscape. The moons, the Three Kinswomen, as the locals called them; Azelia, Gracellia, and Mayana, hung above the land in a triangle. They had not aligned like this in the midnight sky in twenty-two years.
In the darkness, a man, bundled against the cold, labored up an out cropping, grasping a sapling for support. Breath coming in rasps, he looked across the scrub flats to the lights of Harpsfell, perched high up on...

Descendants #73 – Give Thanks Chp. 1
This entry is part 36 of 36 in the series Current“Can you believe Blonsky gave us a reading assignment? Over Thanksgiving break!” JC ranted as he stuffed a few clean shirts and pairs of jeans into his suitcase. “Who has time to read over Thanksgiving? If you’re even conscious after all the turkey and football and Christmas shopping, you’re doing it wrong.”
Warrick had done his packing for the extra-long weekend the night before and was checking something online at his desk. “I told you that Ph...

A Halloween Letter to Hollywood Part III: Letter Hard With a Vengeance
So here we are again, Hollywood.
For the past two years, I’ve sent you pleas to gain the slightest iota of creativity when it comes to monsters in popular entertainment and every year you turn in a whole new line-ups of zombies and vampires. And all the while, you pretend you can’t hear me from atop your piles of money.
I know that’s a lie: everything is better atop vast piles of money—especially the acoustics.
You can’t say it’s not possible to use new monsters either because two of this year’s...

SIMaS: Chapter 13 – Thunderstruck, Enlightening
This entry is part 13 of 13 in the series So I Married a SupervillainLink pulled his hand back and kissed her hand in turn before letting go. Standing, he stretched a bit and looked toward the open door to what he assumed to be the Royal Bathing Chambers. “I’m sure he’ll come around—or go postal. One or the other. Now if you’ll excuse me, honey, I haven’t had a shower since the kidnapping and probably smell like a sewer. Let me know when the food comes?”
“Sure. I’ll just go over some of the ne...

Descendants Annual #6
“A power shed for the commuter pods?” Issac asked dubiously as the brothers landed beneath a flyover deep in the heart of downtown Mayfield. “Really?”
Ian made it a point to flourish his cape as he led his brother along the rusted chain-link fence that surrounded the dilapidated power shed. It was little more than a squat metal box with peeling green paint and slowly rusting high voltage signs hanging from it. On the door hang another sign declaring it to be ‘City of Mayfield Department of Pub...

4 More Moments of Comic Book Shame
There exists a thing (at least in America) known as the
animation age ghetto
; that is the idea that anything drawn in a less than realistic style (to simply just drawn at all) is automatically for kids. IT is the reason why you can sometimes walk into a Wal-mart and find
Bleach
,
Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex
, and yes even
Hellsing
sitting on the same shelf of Dora the Explorer, Scooby Doo and Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles. In short people are stupid and because Walt Disney saw made...
