Crave #Vampire Anthology Cover Reveal and #Giveaway

Excerpt from Her Vampire Mate
When the woman moved, Antonio knew instantly she was a werewolf. There was something about their lithe bodies, the way their muscles moved. He’d never been able to put his finger on it, but he’d never been wrong, either.
As a rule, he didn’t like werewolves. At the same time, there was something extremely sexy about her. There shouldn’t have been. He liked long hair and while her chestnut hair was long, it was pulled back from her face and fell in a braid down her back, masking its beauty. And while he preferred curves, she looked more muscled than lush. He preferred sweet, demur women like the blonde in the restaurant. This woman looked like she’d have a good shot at taking him in a fight.
Not that it mattered. When it came down to it, he loved women. Surely he could find something to love about this one.
After he finished perusing her body, he took another look at her face. Her bright blue eyes were wide, her full lips slightly open.
“Surprised to see me?” he said.
She cleared her throat. “What are you doing in Phillip’s home?”
“Sticking with that tune? I can tell you’re a werewolf. What is it you’re doing in Phillip’s home?” His tone twisted on the man’s name.
After licking her lips, she said, “Who are you?”
What was up with her? She looked positively shell-shocked. “You can hardly expect me to answer.”
“Fine. Vamp. Don’t answer.” She spun on her heel and left the apartment.
He might not know for sure but it was a good bet she was looking for the world-walker. His council contact hadn’t said anything but Antonio knew the vamps and the wolves were in sort of a cold war and it wasn’t much of a leap to figure the wolves would want a world-walker to give them an edge just as badly as the vamps did.
So he’d better follow her. He quickly left the apartment, closing the door behind him, and sped to catch up with her. By the time he reached her, she was standing in front of a downstairs apartment knocking on the door. The look she gave him could have wilted concrete.
Oddly enough, he found he liked her strong spirit. He leaned against the far wall while they waited for someone to answer the door. It gave him a good view of her butt, which was damn fine.
“I know you’ll be able to hear everything from over there,” she whispered. “Just join me.”
Team up? Was she serious? He covered his surprise as well as he could and walked toward her just as the door opened.
A little white-haired woman in a pink jogging suit opened the door. “Yes?”
“Sorry, ma’am. I’m looking for the building manager,” the werewolf said.
“He’s not here right now. Can I take a message for him?” The woman eyed Antonio, closing the door just a little.
As though that could save her.
The wolf spoke. “We’re looking for our friend, Phillip Kent. I’ve been calling and calling and we’ve stopped by several times but he’s not here. I just wanted to make sure he hasn’t moved out or anything.”
What a sexy little liar his werewolf was.
The woman’s face crumpled, a crease forming between her eyes. “Oh, honey. He moved out a couple of days ago. Didn’t even leave an address for his security deposit—said we could keep it. Do you have any other way to reach him?”
The werewolf touched her forehead before dropping her hand to her side. “Dammit. He always does this—takes off without telling anyone. He promised he’d stop.”
And that was his opening. Antonio stepped closer to her and put his hand on the back of her neck. “It’ll be all right, honey. We’ll find him.”
She immediately stiffened and sucked in her breath but the building manager’s wife didn’t seem to notice.
Instead, the older woman took a step backward, away from him. “He used to hang out at the Lucky Elbow down on Fourth. Maybe someone there might know where he is.” She started talking faster. “I’m sorry I can’t help you more. Best of luck.” She closed the door.
Antonio left his hand on the werewolf’s neck, massaging her with his fingers. She might be everything he didn’t look for in a woman but he felt an overwhelming urge to find out more about her.
For a moment, he felt her relax into him. Her head fell back just the slightest inch. Then she jerked away and headed for the outside door.
He hurried to keep up with her—not too difficult with his vampire speed. “Thought we were teaming up.”
“To talk to the building manager,” she said. “That’s it.”
He put his hand on her back. “You sure? I bet we could make magic together.”
She sucked in her breath and walked even faster.
“What’s your name, sweetness?”
She stopped and turned to him. For a moment, her eyes wavered then met his. “This isn’t going to work.” As she turned and stalked away, he heard her murmur, “What the hell am I going to do?”
Antonio knew what he wanted to do and it didn’t have anything to do with finding a world-walker.

Sneak Peek Sunday: The Alpha’s Downfall
Hello! This week I’m giving you six paragraphs from The Alpha’s Pack, part of The Alpha’s Downfall, a boxed set including all four of the Stonewall Pack Alpha series novellas, which is coming out this weekend. Hope you enjoy.

Jake had never smelled anything better in his life. It was like earth and sex and home all rolled up together. He’d been looking for a restaurant where he could get some lunch, but ever since he’d smelled that scent, he couldn’t do anything but follow it.
He walked down a sidewalk lined with trees and quaint storefronts. The sun shined bright overhead. He passed a photo store, a butcher, and a book store as the smell grew stronger. As it became overwhelming, he felt himself growing hard. What the hell?
He had no control. Like a siren holding him in her grasp, the smell wrapped around him, sliding over his hair, heating his skin until he felt more turned on than ever before. He knew what this was. There was only one thing this could be.
Jake turned a corner and went down a little alley that opened into a flower-filled courtyard. A woman stood in the middle staring at him, and on the far side of her another man walked through a different alleyway entrance.
He’d found his mates.
Jake approached the woman. She was beautiful, to him. About medium height, shiny brown hair that brushed her shoulders, big blue eyes surrounded by thick lashes. Her skin was that pale that never tans, only burns. Her body was well-muscled yet slender, the perfect she-wolf’s body.

Excerpt from The Alpha’s Secret
Most of Bridget’s family was busy figuring out what food to order, but Nate, one of Maeve’s mates, stared at her from down the table. When he caught her eye, he shook his head at her.
Oh, God, she hadn’t even thought about Maeve and her mates. Nate had every reason to judge her, for trying to do to her mates what he’d suffered through for so many years. She hung her head.
Liam leaned over and whispered in her ear, his breath warming her skin. “Is he bothering you?”
When she turned her head to look at him, their lips were only inches apart. “No. He’s reminding me.”
“Of?”
“Nothing,” she said.
He leaned closer, frustration written on his face. “Talk to me, Bridget. Tell me what’s wrong. I just want you to be happy. For us to be happy together.”
Bridget felt the fear well up again and pulled back. She hurriedly took a sip of water. Yes, she felt bad about Nate and Damian. And she didn’t want to do the same thing to her mates. But at the same time, she’d never wanted mates. Why should she have to have mates when she’d never wanted them?
Jake, the Alpha of Stonewall pack and Deirdre’s mate, raised his glass. “To Gavin and Liam. Welcome to the family.”
“Hey!” He shouldn’t be welcoming them to the family when she didn’t even want them. As mates.
Her Alpha speared her with his gaze. “I trust that you’re all going to work this out. So there’s no reason not to go ahead and welcome them.”
She wanted to walk out. Even if Jake would let her—doubtful—she couldn’t get past Gavin and Liam. So she stayed put.
Jake raised his glass. “Again, welcome!”
This time, Bridget stayed quiet, and everyone drank. She felt like a heel, so she also took a sip. She didn’t want to hurt her mates. She just didn’t want to be mated to them.
Gavin reached over and put his hand on her leg. The warmth sank through her pants and seared her thigh.
She should make him stop. She should push his hand away. But God, it felt good.

Excerpt:
Damon opened his mouth to answer but at that moment the doors flew open, crashing against the wall. One of the werewolf guards skidded across the floor toward the table where Damon and Lachlan stood. Behind him strode two women, all in black leather, their dark hair falling straight and smooth down their backs. Twins. No doubt about it. But what the hell were they doing breaking into his Great Hall?
“Damon Knightley,” one of the women said, her voice loud.
“Shit.” Damon stripped his clothes off as fast as he could.
If he was getting ready to shift, the women must be trouble. “What the hell?” The table Lachlan stood behind reached several yards on either side, far too long to go around. So he vaulted it, landing beside Damon just as Damon hopped on one foot, trying to pull his pants off the other.
The two women neared. “We just want to talk,” one of them said. Her voice sent a sensual shudder of arousal through Lachlan. Again, what the hell?
“The hell you do.” Damon dropped the last of his clothing then vaulted into the air, his arms erupting into obsidian-colored scaled wings, his body quadrupling in size. He hovered in the air above them.
Thank the Gods for the tall ceilings.
The two women drew weapons, a semi-automatic in one hand and a dirk—a long dagger—in the other. They watched Damon, their identical chins tipped upward at exactly the same angle.
“Get down here!” the first woman said. Her voice didn’t move him.
Damon flew, flapping his wings and stirring the air. As he headed for the wide open double doors, a scent blew across Lachlan’s nose.
His cock grew instantly, painfully hard. He’d never smelled the scent before but he had no doubt what it was.
His mate.
Where before he had seen two women, exactly the same, now he could tell them apart. His mate’s scent marked her as though she had a flashing sign over her head saying “This one. This is the one.” Lachlan headed for her.
Then everyone moved. The women realized Damon was planning to escape through the door. They ran after him. Lachlan knew he couldn’t let his mate get away or he might never see her again. He pushed a little faster and managed to snag her around the waist just before she reached the doorway. Her sister sped after the dragon, not seeming to realize she was alone.
His mate screamed. She struggled, elbowed him, tried to smash her head back into his face–which he narrowly evaded–and nearly stuck him with the dirk.
“Stop,” he said. He didn’t want it to go like this. “I just want to talk.”
“You’re letting him get away,” she hissed.
“He’ll be back. What I’m doing is not letting you get away. Ye need to stay.” She wasn’t a wolf; it was easy enough to tell that much. This would all be much easier if she were a wolf. But he wasn’t sure what she was. She seemed to be human and yet more. He’d never seen a human fight the way she did, and with such strength. And her scent–besides being the most luscious, decadent thing he’d ever smelled in his life–seemed not quite human either.
She twisted in his arms until she could look into his eyes. Hers were dark brown and deep. He could drown in them.
“Let me go,” she said.
“I canna.”
“Sure you can. Look, I’m sorry about your little guards there, but they got in the way. They’ll wake up soon enough.” When he didn’t answer, preferring to continue gazing at her instead, she said, “I haven’t broken any laws. You have no right to hold me.”
“Och, sweetheart. I’m sure you’ve broken a good many laws. But that’s not why you’re stayin’. You’re stayin’ because you’re the other half of my soul and I aim to keep you with me.”

Spooky Movies and TV – Fright Night H0p and #Giveaway
You know what I love to do at Halloween? Watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer–particularly the Halloween episodes. Or hell, any of them. Buffy’s awesome!
Do you remember the one where Willow dresses up in a cute little costume for Halloween and then is too embarrassed to wear it, so she pulls a sheet over it and goes as a ghost? And then that guy casts that spell that turns everyone into their costumes…and Willow becomes a ghost and Xander is a commando and Buffy is a wilting Southern Belle…and then the vampires attack?
I could go on, but you get my drift. I’m not into the really, really scary movies (I still get chills when I think about Pumpkinhead, which a(n ex-)boyfriend made me watch twenty-five years ago) but there are lots of other Halloween movies and TV shows that are just plain fun. Charlie Brown, anyone?

She got aroused by weapons, by thick history tomes, and by Google. By men? Not so much. Not that she was gay, but it had been a long time since a man had anything to offer that she had the slightest interest in pursuing. So what was up with getting aroused by a six foot-something Scottish guy who had her effectively pinned?
Maybe it was because he was the first man in years who’d been able to pin her.
Before she could follow that thought–if she even wanted to–he spoke again. “What’s your name?”
“I’m not your mate.” She continued to struggle, though her efforts seemed feeble. The tension made her throat sound hoarse.
“Your name, lass. Mate or no, I want something to call ye.”
“You can call me ‘gone’ if you’ll just put me down.”
He growled. The damned werewolf actually growled at her. “Name.”
“Keira.”
“Keira.”
When he said her name, the sound rolled through her like a mini-orgasm. Good Gods, what was he doing to her? “Yes, Keira. Now put me down.”
“I canna. You’ll run, when what I need is for ye to hear me out.” The blasted man turned and walked her back through the Great Hall toward a long table at the far end.
She kicked at him but he didn’t even make a sound to indicate she’d impacted him. “You can’t just hold me prisoner.”
“I can, but I don’t want to. You’re my mate. I want to take you to my room, make love to you for days, then take care of you the rest of our lives.”
Keira sucked in her breath. She wasn’t sure if she was more surprised that what he described even sounded good or shocked that he thought she was the kind of woman he could coddle. “Do you know who I am?” she bit off.
