Jake reached out his arm, welcoming her. “Fiona. Meet Caleb.”

She put out her hand and Caleb took it. Just as his fingers engulfed hers, a scent washed over her, like freshly baked bread and gun oil and home.

Caleb’s hand spasmed around hers. “Mate.” His voice sounded half-grumbly, like his wolf wanted to jump out his throat and claim her. Then Caleb’s eyes focused on something behind her.

Friday’s the Day to Pick Up The Alpha’s Secret for .99! + New Excerpt

AS360

The Alpha’s Secret will be available on Amazon (US and UK) and Barnes and Noble for just $0.99 for one day only. If you’ve been thinking about buying this third installment of the Stonewall Pack Alpha series, Friday, March 29th is the day to do it!

Here’s a blurb and new excerpt from The Alpha’s Secret to whet your appetite:

Werewolves mate in threesomes in this world where packs operate just under the surface of everyday life. Private investigators Gavin and Liam find their mate, Bridget, while on a case. But in spite of the mating lust riding all three of them, Bridget resists the urge. Something stronger than the mating lust keeps her from committing. Meanwhile, Gavin and Liam discover treachery in her past. Can they unravel the clues to both mysteries so all three of them can come together at last?

Excerpt:

Bridget parked down the block from The Weeping Widow, a pub/tavern that claimed roots back in the colonial days. It certainly looked the part, with its wood timbers and dark interior. When Bridget told the hostess who she was meeting, she was told they hadn’t arrived yet, and was seated at a table for four. She glanced at her watch. Noon, on the nose. At least she hadn’t been late again.

A couple of minutes later, Bridget felt a powerful tingling, just like she had the night before on the phone. The outside door opened, and the most delicious smell wafted inside. It smelled like forest and sex and home. She couldn’t imagine what it was, but she had to find out. She stood to go look.

Her eyes met those of two wolves. From across the room, she couldn’t scent them to know they were wolves, but she just knew. Just as she knew what the scent meant, and who they were.

Her mates.

Bridget’s pulse pounded in her neck. She didn’t want mates. She’d never wanted mates. Shit. She sat down.

The two wolves walked quickly across the room to her, but she wouldn’t meet their eyes. She fought the urge to run. Their chairs scraped across the floor as they sat down.

“That’s why…” one of them said.

The other said, “Yeah. That’s why.” He reached out and took her hand where it rested on the table.

“Bridget?”

She jerked and looked up at him, immediately caught by his eyes like a rabbit in a trap.

“We can skip lunch,” the other one said. “Find a hotel somewhere.”

The mating urge must be riding him hard. Hell, it was riding her hard. Her body had turned to a soft mush all centered between her legs. If she weren’t so scared, she’d be dragging them out of the restaurant and finding the nearest alley. She pulled her hand away.

“I’m Gavin,” the big one said. His dark hair and chocolate eyes made him exactly what she’d always found attractive—big, dark and sexy. If only he weren’t her mate.

“Liam,” the other one said. He wasn’t small, either, though he didn’t have the big muscles Gavin did. Liam was slimmer, lean and mean, his hair cut short in a dark buzz cut. His eyes were a striking blue.

She wasn’t sure what to say, so she went with the obvious. “I’m Bridget.” Her voice sounded small.

Neither of them would take their eyes off her. She felt naked and exposed.

“Let’s get lunch,” Gavin said. He flipped open his menu.

Liam gave a very faint whine, his wolf protesting the delay. He continued to gaze at Bridget. “I never thought I’d be lucky enough to have mates.”

Bridget couldn’t take it. She stood, dropping her napkin onto her seat. “I’ll be right back.” Then she fled to the bathroom.

She squeezed his hand. “Okay.” She let out a little huff of breath. “I feel so scared. At the same time, I feel like…”

“Like you trust us?” Gavin said.

Her tongue darted out to wet her lips. “Like I want to lick every inch of your bodies.”

Excerpt:

Gavin shifted in his chair so he faced her, his arm still on her chair. “Tell us what it is you’re afraid of. Whatever it is, we’ll fix it.”

She gave him a disgusted look. “Typical man, thinking everything can be ‘fixed.’ What if you can’t fix it?”

“Tell us what it is,” Liam said.

She rounded on him, enunciating every word. “I don’t know what it is.”

Liam sat back in his chair. “Then what—”

She stood, the chair legs screeching, and made a cutting motion with her hands. “I just feel scared, okay? You’re both more dominant than me. Everyone’s more dominant than me. You’re going to steamroll right over me until nothing’s left.” Her face turned angry. “And that’s if you don’t turn mean after we’ve mated and start beating me.”

“Beating you,” Gavin echoed, his voice hollow.

It didn’t make sense. “What makes you think male mates beat their female mates?” Liam said. He’d never heard of such a thing. Females were to be cherished and protected.

“I don’t know,” she whispered. “I just know it happens.”

Gavin sat forward. “Did you see it?”

“I don’t know.” She sat down again, not looking at either of them. “I’ve always felt this way.”

Liam met Gavin’s eyes, and immediately knew what he was thinking. There was a story here. A mystery. And who better than two PIs to figure it out. She might think they couldn’t fix it, but she was wrong.

In the meantime, there were other approaches they could take. “What if you get to know us before we take things further?” Liam said. “If you find out we’re good guys, will that make a difference?”

“Maybe,” she said softly.

“Then give us a chance.” Liam slipped his hand into hers. “Date us. In public, with plenty of people around. Let us show you.”

She squeezed his hand. “Okay.” She let out a little huff of breath. “I feel so scared. At the same time, I feel like…”

“Like you trust us?” Gavin said.

Her tongue darted out to wet her lips. “Like I want to lick every inch of your bodies.”

Gavin made a choking sound, and Liam could barely keep from jumping her. As it was, his hand spasmed around hers. And she squeezed right back.

“It’s awful,” she said.

“Sounds pretty damn good to me.” Gavin leaned forward. “And I bet we can arrange it pretty damn fast.”

Bridget blushed. It was the prettiest thing Liam had ever seen.

“We’ll be gentle, sweetie.” Liam leaned closer to her. All three of them were within inches of each other.

Bridget’s face and neck turned a deeper red. “What if I don’t want you to be gentle?”

A low rumble came from Gavin’s chest as he leaned even closer and kissed Bridget’s neck. “Mine.”

She started. “That’s just what I mean.” Bridget stood. Before either man could stop her, she squeezed behind Gavin and out from behind the table. Liam expected her to keep running, but instead she stopped. “Mine. Like you own me.”

Rites of Spring–Werewolves: Mates at First Sight

Rites of Spring blog hop

Do you remember the first moment you saw the person you later fell in love with? Or was it love at first sight?

I’ve read a lot of paranormal romances where werewolves and other shifters know when they find their mates. For my Marysburg Wolves books, I wanted that moment of awareness, that instant of knowing that they’d found the people they’d spend the rest of their lives with. You’ll see that moment in the excerpt below, where Chris, Ben and Alex all meet together for the first time. They’ve met separately, but in this world, they don’t know they’re mates until all three of them are together for the first time.

After you’ve checked out the excerpt, try your luck with either the grand prize giveaway or my own giveaway just for this hop. (While you’re at it, check out my other giveaway going on right now and the Insatiable Reads Book Tour I’m part of.)

All of a sudden, Ben smelled the most amazing smell, like sex and chocolate and first-thing-in-the-morning coffee, only better. He’d heard about this. There was only one thing it could be.

He’d found his mates.

Ben’s gaze swung to the bar as though pulled there. Chris sat on a stool, eyes wide, staring at him. No wonder Ben had felt comfortable talking with Chris. His mate. His fricking mate.

Chris looked at Dana and said something to her. As far away as he was, Ben could only imagine what he was saying.

She looked confused.

As Chris stood, he shook his head, still speaking. Then he left Dana behind and plowed his way through the packed room to get to Ben.

They clasped arms, holding onto each other at the elbows and staring into each other’s eyes. The smell was so much stronger now. Ben had no doubt. He’d spend the rest of his life with this man.

And with their female.

“Where is she?” Ben said. He swung to look at the room, one hand still gripping Chris’ arm. All he saw was wolves, wall-to-wall.

“There couldn’t be a worse situation to try and find somebody,” Chris said.

“We just need to follow our noses.” Ben stepped forward, pushing through a group of people to get to the other side, and Chris followed him. Excitement jumped in Ben’s stomach.

The scent grew. Ahead of them, someone was pushing through the crowd, coming in their direction. Someone else stepped aside, and a body ran into Ben. It was her.

Alex.

The air left his lungs. She was so beautiful. Everything he’d ever wanted. He reached for her.

In an otherwise modern world where werewolves mate in triads, one threesome faces overwhelming obstacles to everlasting love.

The mating lust pulls Chris, Ben and Alexandra together, flooding them with the desire to mark each other and seal their bond. Big Cocks and Shamrocks Blog Hop-Full of Blarney

What can I say about big cocks and shamrocks? Hmm. I think I’m going to take the easy way out and talk about shamrocks. Or namely, my most recent visit to Ireland, when I was seventeen. (I’ll leave it up to you to guess how recent that was.)

We took a ferry from England over to Ireland. The trip itself was memorable because half the passengers got seasick…and for once, I wasn’t among them. But I digress. My first impression of the Emerald Isle as I got off the ferry was green. Green, green everywhere. I can’t say if any of that green consisted of shamrocks, but it doesn’t take much imagination to think that it did.

On that trip, I got to do something just as lucky as finding a four-leaf clover. I kissed the blarney stone.

I had always pictured the blarney stone as some sort of stone maybe lying on the ground that you went up and kissed. Not so. Blarney Castle is three stories high–castle kind of stories, not our standard 8-foot ceilings. The main floors of the castle are gone, so all that’s left is the outer walls, including a wide walkway along the top. You go up to the very top, walk along the walkway and then get in line to kiss the stone. (At least, this is how it was when I was seventeen.)

So far, this isn’t so bad. But the stone itself is part of an overhang which hangs lower than the floor of the walkway. To get to it, you have to lie on your back while someone helps to lower you over the edge, backwards, so you can get your mouth onto the stone. While I was hanging upside down, I could see three stories down to the dirt below. Only a small iron grate protected me in case the man holding me lost his grip.

And I’m afraid of heights.

But I did it! (I did, I admit, make my dad hold my ankles as extra insurance.) I can’t say that it gave me a silver tongue…I’ve always been a fairly quiet person…but it did give me a good story. :)

In my erotic paranormal romance novel Protecting the Pack, there are more big cocks than shamrocks. See the excerpt below to find out more about it, or try your luck with either the grand prize giveaway or my own giveaway just for this hop. (While you’re at it, check out my other giveaway going on right now and the Insatiable Reads Book Tour I’m part of.)

Comments will count double, not just for my giveaway but also for the grand prize of the blog hop. Please remember to include your email address in your comment for entry into the grand prize.

That night, Alex walked into the bar a few minutes before nine. A Friday night, the place was just as crammed as the night before. Most of the people she passed smelled like pack—both Roanoke and Stonewall.

She found Chris at nearly the same spot he’d been at the night before. This time, a big dark-haired guy sat next to him. Someone from Stonewall pack.

When Chris saw her, he pulled a stool in between them and patted the seat. “Good to see you again.”

She climbed up. “Same here.”

Chris motioned toward the other man. “This is Jake, the Stonewall pack Alpha.”

Shit. He was trying to pawn her off on this other guy. Brett would be so pissed if she didn’t manage to get into Roanoke. Still, she had to play along. “Nice to meet you.” They shook hands.

“I hear you’re looking for a new pack,” Jake said.

“Yeah,” she said. “I heard good things about Marysburg.” She almost said ‘Roanoke’ but it wouldn’t do to insult the Stonewall Alpha. Especially when Chris was the one who brought him here.

“It’s a good little town,” Jake said. “We could use more wolves in Stonewall. But I hear you’re set on Roanoke.”

Crap on a stick. What was she supposed to say? She wanted to be with Keith even though she’d already admitted she thought he was an ass? She’d been prepared to talk to Chris, not Jake. “Don’t you already have a lot of females at Stonewall?” She was grasping at straws.

“No more than at Roanoke,” Chris said. “Females are always prized.”

She met Chris’ eyes. “If we’re prized then why don’t you want me?”

Something flashed across his face, an expression of naked lust followed immediately by disgust.

She really should have thought about how that sounded before she’d said it. “I don’t mean want me want me, I mean…you know. In your pack.” And what was that disgust about? She was decent looking. Maybe not petite and pedicured like Chris’ girlfriend, but not that bad.

Chris seemed to stumble over his words for a second then he spit out, “Pack politics.”

No, no, no. Brett would kill her if she couldn’t get in.

A loud crash split through the voices and music. Everyone quieted as heads turned to look. Two wolves grappled with each other in the middle of tables rapidly being abandoned.

Lucky in Love–When Irish Eyes Are Smiling

Lucky in Love

You’ve heard the saying “When Irish Eyes are smiling, they’re up to something.” That’s me. I’m part Irish, and it took me a while, but growing up I finally realized my mother could always tell when I was about to pull some mischief just by the look in my eyes. Darn it. :)

So when I tell you I love St. Patrick’s Day, you’ll know I come by it honestly. In my house growing up, it wasn’t about wearing green on March 17th. It was about eating corned beef and cabbage and potatoes for dinner. It’s not such an easy dish to make, so we only got to eat it once a year. And oh, do I love corned beef!

I don’t recall ever reading a romance about St. Patrick’s Day, but when you think of ‘lucky in love,’ isn’t that how every romance ends? (One would hope.) In my erotic paranormal romance novel Protecting the Pack, not one, not two, but three people get lucky.

See the excerpt below to find out more, then try your luck with the giveaway and make a comment to enter. Comments will count double, not just for my giveaway but also for the grand prize of the blog hop. Please remember to include your email address in your comment for entry into the grand prize.
