Videos!
As promised in my last post, here are some videos that I did months ago which were recently green-lighted for public release. The first one is of me and Vicki Pettersson, doing a very bad job of being professional as we discuss our short stories in UNBOUND, the dark fantasy anthology releasing on Aug 25th. Note: I blame any and all of my giggling on Vicki, who kept making faces and/or funny comments when I was trying to be dignified.
And here, in three parts, are the video clips from the RT co

It's that time again, part 1
That's right, folks, I'm into the six week window before the due date of my next manuscript, so everything else gets backburnered until the book is completed. I won't declare Internet Hiatus for the next several weeks, because I'm sure I'll pop up here and there, but expect sparse blogging. You know the drill.
Before I vanish into deadline dementia, though, I have lots of things to leave you with. First, pictures from RT and RWA! What's that, you say? Both those conventions were months ago, so d

Timeline, stuff, more
I saw this post and found myself nodding in agreement as I read it. I'm sure every author, at one time or another, has seen a comment about their book that says something like, "This is clearly a ripoff of ________!" When I see that, I shrug, remind myself that readers are entitled to their opinion, and move on. But Carrie's timeline got me pondering the timeline of the Night Huntress series, and how long it took from conception to publication. So for kicks, here's the breakdown of events. May

Get Your Grave On
Thanks so much to everyone who commented on my blog about DESTINED. I'll be replying individually soon, but in my excitement since getting the news on Wednesday, I've had an acid indigestion attack followed by a migraine. Ah, universe. You do like to balance the good with the bad, don't you? ;-).
But enough of that. It's Instant Winner contest time again! In celebration of DESTINED hitting number seven on the New York Times, I'm giving away seven copies of it. So if you want a signed copy of DEST

Thank you!!
Please consider this post as my huge, sloppy kiss to readers (or firm handshake, whatever you prefer ;-), because my editor just called to give me the news on DESTINED FOR AN EARLY GRAVE's first week on the shelves:
# 7 on the New York Times bestseller list
# 38 on the USA Today bestseller list
This is the highest any of my books have placed on either list, and I am beyond thrilled and thankful. My publisher has already ordered a second printing of DESTINED, too. None

Get Your Grave On
Okay, as those of you who read my post Friday know, it's Instant Winner contest time! I'll be doing contests for the next several days, here and on MySpace, at alternate times in the day so that I can try to encompass as many time zones as possible, lol.
If you want a signed copy of FOUR DUKES AND A DEVIL anthology shipped to you, no matter where in the world you live, be one of the first SEVEN people to reply to this post and it's yours.
Ready, set...Grave!

Friday already?
Wow, this week went by quick! Probably because I've been busy - that whole "not enough hours in the day" thing makes time seem like it's on fast-forward. For relaxation at night, I've been doing the oddest thing: watching old Friday the 13th movies. Don't know what twisted part of me finds them amusing/soothing, but I'm up to Friday the 13th, Part Four, and haven't gotten sick of them yet. Some people turn to comfort food when they're antsy. Appears I turn to cheesy eighties slasher movies. Who

Release day
Today's the day. Book four of the Night Huntress series, DESTINED FOR AN EARLY GRAVE, is officially on the loose in both paper and e-book format. Though this is is my fourth release, I have the same excited butterflies in my stomach that I did the day my first book released. It's cool, though, because the day I'm jaded and unmoved when a book releases is the day I should hang up my keyboard. For more info on DFAEG, you can read the summary and first 20% of it here: http://browseinside.harpercoll

RWA, take two (yes, late, I know)
Sorry for the delay in wrapping up my convention blog. I've been over at Bitten By Books, chatting and answering questions for the pre-release party they're hosting for me (side note: contest for free books and gift certificates ends July 27th, so head on over to read the rules and enter if you haven't already!). Also, I guest blogged over at Witchy Chicks, where I talked about how I'm cheap and easy *wink*, and I guest blogged at Avon, where I discussed vampires, the market, and why dread of on

Release party for DFAEG
I was going to post more about RWA (and I will, later) but I came back from running some errands to see my inbox flooded with new Twitter followers, Blood Bank followers, etc. Took me a minute to realize why (I'm still catching up on my lack of sleep from RWA, so my brain feels like it's running on fumes): The release party for DESTINED FOR AN EARLY GRAVE that's being hosted by Bitten By Books just went live. Since BBB throws far more organized and fun events than I do, I thought it would be a g
