7-11 Charges The Same No Matter What Drink You Put In The Super Big Gulp, Right?

7-11 charges the same $1.59 no matter which drink you put in the Super Big Gulp, right?

I’m thinking, that hot cheese pump for the nachos is just sitting there…

We Should Have Hot Dog Hot Pockets

We should have hot dog Hot Pockets. You know, one or more hot dogs, possibly with other fixings, inside a hot pocket. Why not? It’d make them a lot messier. We could have a line for each way people typically like hot dogs:

Just a hot dog and mustard, for people who like that.
Hot dog, ketchup, mustard, onions, relish, and sour kraut.
Chicago style.

And so on.

Sure, there would be some logistical problems regarding microwave cooking and some of the fillings, but it’s not as if we haven’t have do overcome those kind of problems before. This could work as well as any Hot Pockets do, and the decrease in messiness could justify a little flexibility.

We should totally have this.

Wait…Turns Out I Had A Google+ Account

I have to apologize. I made a joke yesterday about my procrastination in not getting on Google+ paying off because it’s going away soon. Then I got an email today about my account on it. Turns out I must have signed up for one for some reason however many years back and just not remembered it…or ever used it (unless I was automatically signed up, since it was on the Gmail account I needed to have as a secondary account for something). Oh well, no matter.

I suppose it speaks even worse for them that I don’t remember ever having an account.

My Procrastination Pays Off

I just heard that Google+ accounts will be shutting down soon. My procrastination regarding getting a Google+ account has finally paid off.

Seriously, I just usually don’t get around to the social media services people tell me I should be on. I wait and see which ones end up fading into obscurity. Then I continue to procrastinate on the others.

What’s That Feeling?

What’s that feeling I feel when someone puts any kind of smack down on Facebook? Oh, that’s right…schadenfreude. F@#k Facebook.

Apple leaves Facebook offices in disarray after revoking app permissions

This whole thing already appears over, but it was enough to bring me just a little bit of joy.

Why Shouldn’t Schulz Be President?

I’ve been hearing a lot of people (pretty much everyone talking about it) say that Schulz shouldn’t run for president. Why shouldn’t he? I mean, he:

– Created Peanuts

– Nicknamed “Sparky”

– Died of colon cancer February 12, 2000

Oh, wait…Schultz? Howard Schultz? Oh! That’s very different. Never mind. Yeah…f#*k that guy.

Moment of spam comment zen:

And also, per him, there is no mountain exorbitant to increase.

Next would come the advertising, invitations, mailings, registrations, etc.

Conventional that they’ve learned support keep their losses small.

It’s like a koan, isn’t it? It feels like it should make sense and the brain keeps struggling to make it do so. It won’t though, the brain will snap first. I’ll also not share the links that came with it. Keep the free content coming guys. You’re almost actually working here.

Thoughts On Australia Day Seven: I’m Finally Done With Poor Fellow My Country

Final thoughts on Australia (I think): I’m finally done with Poor Fellow My Country.

This is only sort of about our trip. I’d started this a couple of days before we went and had it with me while we were there, but I only read on flights and only 50 pages at the time, so I wasn’t really reading it for the 17-18 days I was carrying it around for the trip.

It’s about Australia though, and I realized only after we were back that the tour we were on in the middle of the trip after Sydney and before Melbourne was in the area it was primarily set. We swam at Millaa Millaa Falls and that’s only around 10 minutes or so from the town that this is mostly set near.

Primarily though, I’m posting because I’m finally done. It’s an immense book and very dense, taking me an actual month to finish, though as I said I didn’t touch it for about half that time. Still, good book. Better than many that get to that size.

Thoughts On Australia Day Six: The Best Food Was From Somewhere Else

We ran into some decent food in Australia, but we also ran into a lot that was passable or adequate at best. Sometimes it was expected, but sometimes not. I had a steak that was one of the more expensive items on a menu but would have better shown up at one of the $10 all you can eat deals off strip in Las Vegas. Many servers worked really hard, but quite a few didn’t seem really concerned with whether you actually got what you ordered or whether it was cooked as you’d requested (there were quite a few times it wasn’t). The best we ran into came from other places:

Malaysian food at The Malaya in Sydney
Xiaolongbao at Shanghai Street in Melbourne
Korean fried chicken at Gami Chicken & Beer in Melbourne

There was some good Italian we ran into as well, and some nice barramundi we ran into at a place or two, but they weren’t quite to the level of writing home about. The meat pies seemed pretty much microwaved, and most of the rest fed us but just wasn’t that exciting.
