Can We Stop With The Whole SCOTUS/POTUS Thing?

When did we start with the whole SCOTUS/POTUS thing? I know these are valid acronyms for the Supreme Court of the United States and the President of the United states, respectively, but they sound awful. SCOTUS and POTUS sound like some cheap cartoon about two redneck kids who hang around together and go fishing while cracking puns.

I don’t like it.

Is Congress COTUS? Is the Senate SOTUS? Is the House of Representatives HOROTUS?

Where will this end? AGOTUS (Attorney General of the United States)? FOTUS (flag of the United States)? GABOTUS (geographical approximate boundaries of the United States)? ATCOTUS (all the citizens of the United States)?

This is ridiculous. Please, stop now.

I Still Don’t Have Facebook Messenger

Well, it’s been almost a year now and I still don’t have Facebook Messenger on my phone. I’m still just using a web browser to open Facebook when I need to send or read a Facebook message. It still works a year after they removed messaging from their mobile app.

As long as it still works, I’m probably going to keep not downloading Facebook Messenger. I see now reason to change if they don’t take this away.

Just wanted to keep ya’ll updated.

NOW I’M DOING IT!!!!

I usually try to calm other writers down when they get too worked up about the submission process. At the very least, I usually try not to read too much into things. There are only two times submission statuses are important, when they are received and when they are rejected or allowed.

Nothing else matters. Nothing else really means anything.

BUT NOW I’M DOING IT TOO!!!!

I submit to The Collagist from time to time. I’ve got something over at them right now for consideration and, wait…it’s taking longer than normal. Normally they get back to me within a month and it’s been over with them for three. Surely this means that they might accept this one! That must be why it’s taking longer! It couldn’t possibly be that they simply HAVEN’T HAD TIME TO GET TO IT YET!!!!

Why am I doing this? Why do so many writers do this? The time in queue means nothing. We know it means nothing…but yet we do this. We torture ourselves as if queue times had any significance at all.

I can’t believe myself.

Bugdroid (The Android Robot) Is Canadian!

I just realized this, but Bugdroid (the Android Robot) is Canadian! Just take a look:

See it? Bugdroid clearly has a flip-top head. What did South Park teach us about Canadians? They all have flip-top heads.

See? Canadian. I rest my case. I have no idea why a Canadian mascot was chosen for Android, but there we go.
