Happy Easter!
Happy Easter!
I didn’t even have to make a new one for this. The one for Friday the 13th fit already. Then again, so could the one for Thanksgiving:
Guy Fawkes Day:
International Talk Like a Pirate Day:
and Christmas:
Halloween is a very flexible holiday, as long as some kind of costume is involved.

Buy My Friends’ Books!
Here are some books by writers that I know that I’ve read recently. You should buy one or more of them. Probably should read and review them too, but let’s start at the purchase part.

People Must Just Be Drinking Other Stuff
I was a bit surprised to see a headline today that Anheuser-Busch wasn’t seeing as much profit as they had expected. I didn’t look further, because I didn’t really care, but I would have thought the opposite. I would have imagined that all the election stuff going on would really make people need a drink.
Then again, maybe they do need a drink…but just not a Bud. Maybe they need to resort to something stronger.

An Animated Gif I Didn’t Immediately Find
I’m always sharing when I wonder whether or not there is an animated gif of something and then go to see what I find on a quick Google images search. Sometimes it’s interesting what I find, but usually the main point is (repeatedly) anything I can think of is already out there already. However, most interesting to me is when I can’t seem to find anything. Remember how I talked about the Whispering Gallery at St. Paul’s the other day? Perfect example.
I thought for sure I’d quickly find an animated gif from up there, perhaps a sweep of the rotunda or a pan down. Nothing though. All I found were some great still images, but they were only still.
There’s probably some out there somewhere, but I didn’t find them right away like I usually do. Funny.

Of Course There’s A Casa Bonita Animated Gif
Of course there’s a Casa Bonita animated gif out there.
Why would I have thought there might not be?
(And, of course, like the tons of other Casa Bonita animated gifs a quick image search turned up, it’s of Cartman.)

Excellent Timing
Ran into excellent timing recently. I picked up Alan Moore’s Jerusalem recently. Early on in the tome, one of the characters is on a platform in St. Paul’s Cathedral as it is raised from the floor all the way up into the Whispering Gallery so he can restore some of the paintings on the ceiling of the dome. The timing on my choice of when to read this was excellent, because I’d been sitting in the Whispering Gallery just a week before.
Seriously, I’d just come back recently from a trip to London, Brussels, and Paris. As part of that, we’d climbed all those stairs in St. Paul’s to the Whispering Gallery (and up into the tower outside and above). While reading about the character being on that raising platform, I had an immediate, physical memory of being in that dome and just how high it was, and how it felt. There was no way to have as visceral a reaction there as having a recent memory of being where was being described, all because of a chance in timing.
No real reason to mention this, but it was pretty cool.

This Is An Odd Gif To Animate
People animate the oddest gifs. Not just for the oddest subjects, but the oddest bits from those subjects. Take this one:
Now, I love The Mysterious Cities of Gold as much as the next person (likely more), but what the heck? Why bother animating this as a gif?
It’s a mystery, as much as the location of the cities of gold.

I Actually Am Hankering For A Hunk Of Cheese
Actually, I am hankering for a hunk of cheese. I’m almost always hankering for a hunk of cheese.
I love that someone made an animated gif of this. If you don’t know what it is, no amount of explanation can help you.

I Vote Already. Shut Up.
I voted already. Everyone can go ahead and shut up now.
Seriously, I filled out my mail in ballot and dropped it off last night. As of now, I can no longer be persuaded in any way to change my position on any of the candidates or issues, not in a way that can change my vote. As such, I no longer need to see any ads, get any calls, read any arguments, and/or anything else. It’s all over for me short of waiting for the results, so let’s just go for that and leave me alone.
Thank you.
Sincerely, The Management
