Reading has always been a passion, but recently the obsession for writing has taken over. Traci loves all genres of writing, but currently is exploring the world of romance.

Erin’s chest tightened at the sight of him dropping to his knees. He scooted up to the end of the bed and her legs were forced further apart. Her already short skirt inched higher.
“You can’t blame yourself, Jayden. You didn’t know this would happen.”
“Open your legs, Catherine.” The roughness in his voice did things to her, muddied her thinking and got her heart racing.
“Um, I take it we’re done talking about Natalie?” she whispered.
He braced his hands on her knees, and pushed. “Open.”

Tiffany decides to accept her father’s offer to send her to private school in England. The news of her parents’ murders brings Tiffany home. Jess races back to save her, only to put her own life into the hands of a killer. The team is in search of Jess, Tiffany and the killer. To their surprise, the past begins to creep up on them.

Startled from her thoughts, Jess turned and saw Tom in the doorway with a concerned look on his face.
He walked closer to her and set a cup of tea on her desk. “I thought you might need this.”
“Thanks Tom. You always know what I need. I love you so much.” She smiled and reached for his hand. Just his presence in the room warmed her from the cold chill she’d felt.
“I love you too.” He leaned down and kissed the top of her head. “Now spill it Jess. I know that look.”
She laughed at his remark. He knows me so well. “I feel like I’m reading about Trevor stalking me. This girl is in trouble, Tom. She’s being stalked. I feel it in my gut.” Jess took a sip of her tea. The warmth and sweetness of that Earl Grey Cream was exactly what she needed to calm her.
“That look worries the heck out of me. But I learned a long time ago I can’t stop you.” Tom picked up her phone from the desk and handed it to her. “Call Mr. Bennett”
“At this time of the night?” Jess looked at her watch.
“If he’s as concerned as you believe, Jess, he’ll be awake.” Tom kissed her forehead and smiled.

What's your bad quality?
Oh, I have plenty. I’m a worrier. Always have been. Even if there’s really nothing to worry about, I manage to find something. I’m hoping that turning forty this year will cure me of it. Also, I can be a perfectionist, except when it comes to house cleaning. I’m the biggest procrastinator ever when it comes to cleaning my house. I’m always excited when Halloween comes around because then the cobwebs fit right in.
Which is your most favorite book ever?
This is such an impossible question, but one book I’ve read over and over again is A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle. I’m not a big sci-fi reader, but the theme of love conquering evil resonates throughout that book, and it really appealed to me as a kid.
Which is the one television character that you simply adore?
I love Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad. Yes, he was a drug dealer and a junkie throughout most of the series, but there were many moments where you could see how badly he was hurting and how much he wanted a different life. He broke my heart so many times, and I just couldn’t help but root for him.
What kind of music do you like?
My playlist is the biggest eclectic mess you’ll ever see. I love everything except opera and most rap (although I can appreciate them). I love Adele, Johnny Cash, fun, Miranda Lambert, Eminem (the only rap I like), Pink, 80s power ballads, country, bluegrass . . . I love it all.
If given complete freedom to start afresh, what profession would you choose and why?
I would have been a writer. I almost majored in journalism in college, but I decided to teach instead. I don’t regret that decision, and I love my job, but I don’t know that it would be my first choice if I started over.
What is the funniest prank played on you or played by you?
On April’s Fools Day many years ago, I was out in the hallway talking to another teacher. When I walked back inside my classroom, I sat down at my desk . . . and that’s when I heard the whoopee cushion, courtesy of my sweet sixth graders. Their laughter was totally worth any embarrassment!

“Ladies and gentlemen,” I said, “the captain has advised me we’ll be making a precautionary landing.” The elderly woman started sobbing. The front of the plane yawed back and forth, the movement sharp, bouncing, and disorienting. When I glanced out the window, we were just breaking through the cloud cover, and the forested ground was rushing closer. I pointed out the exits and the escape path lighting, and then explained the brace position of crossing their arms, placing them on the seatback in front of them, and resting their foreheads on their wrists. “I’ll help you if you need me to,” said the man in 1A. I swallowed and felt the hot press of tears. “If I’m unable to, make sure it’s safe to open the door, and then get everyone out and away.” “I’ll do it. And I won’t leave you behind.” The plane groaned, the yawing becoming violent. We swayed back and forth so forcefully that I had to hold on to my shoulder harness to avoid being pitched sideways. The father and son yelled apologies and I love yous at one another. The elderly woman continued weeping. A businessman recited a Hail Mary. My lips trembled and I pressed them tightly together. “What’s your name?” I asked 1A. With a rumble, the landing gear extended. His eyes were blue, I realized. “Clay. Clay Gandy.” Clay in 1A. I almost laughed at the rhyme, but then the captain shouted, “Brace, brace, brace!” I repeated the command over and over until my voice was hoarse. I wanted to close my eyes but found I couldn’t. The plane jarred with the sound of snapping, the movement so wrenching it felt as if someone were trying to yank my bones from within my skin. We whipped to one side so quickly my neck cracked and my vision swam. Dark shadows rushed by the windows, and the splintering sound escalated. We hit the ground with such force the oxygen masks fell from the panels above the seats and the overhead bins burst open and spilled luggage into the aisle. Both passengers and metal screamed. There was a horrific grinding as the plane shuddered and bucked. Then the world exploded. 
Emma Elliot first developed a love of suspense when she was six years old. She was hiding from her cousins and sister in a closet in her grandmother's house when she discovered a passageway, though not so secret, linking to another closet. She stumbled upon a stack of worn Bobbsey Twins mysteries in that seeming labyrinth, and she spent much of her childhood there, by choice, reading mystery novels by flashlight. Her love of reading and writing grew simultaneously. Soon she was creating her own variations of the stories she read and penning her own tales. Through bouts of working as a tutor, an editor, an apple- and peach-picker, a waitress, a dog walker, a nanny, a retail associate, and a reservationist at a ski resort, writing has remained her passion. She currently lives on the eastern seaboard and considers herself a wandering homebody. She travels often for work, which provides fodder for the imagination and plentiful hours to write her next novel while sitting in airports.

REVIEW: Death Wish by Cherime MacFarlane

This was my first time reading Ms. MacFarlane and I'm glad I got the chance. She writes with a detailed gusto that makes it so you can't help but get pulled into the story and the outcome of the characters.
Death Wish opens with two people who are handling the loss of the same man in different ways. Colin was Paul's best friend; Maria Elena, Paul's wife. The twist is that Colin has been in love with Maria Elena since the day Paul brought her home, and now he must deal with his friend's dying wish for him to "take care of her," while all she wants to do is hide in a bottle.
MacFarlane will take you on an imagery-filled road trip through Alaska while she sits these two down to face their demons, old and new. Sweet moments, sexy times, and tears await ...
