COVER REVEAL: Angel's Heart: The True Enemy by Lisa Bilbrey
Author Lisa Bilbrey is proud to present the cover for the exciting second novel in the Angel's Heart Series
which will be available June 1st!
Summary:
Sophie Crenshaw has saved the world by preventing the Angel's Heart from falling into the hands of Whitley Monroe. Now, she and her fiancé Henry Chang have returned to Austin, Texas, and back to the real world. Or have they?
Having been declared the savior of all mankind, Sophie finds that magic is all around her. As she struggles to find her way, she's bombarded by nightly dreams that have her on edge. Will she be able to keep her sanity while trying to decipher the meaning behind her visions? Or will an unknown enemy get to her first?
Except from Angel's Heart: The True Enemy:
Once she was within arm’s reach, Eleanor grabbed Sophie by the shoulders, dragging her to the ground with her. “He’s everywhere.”“Who is everywhere?” she asked. “Where did you go? You just left the island. Are you okay?”“The dark tide rises,” she cooed. “Stars tell the tale from the man in the moon. Heed their warning or suffer a fate worse than death.”“What are you talking about? Who’s the man in the moon? What warnings am I supposed to heed?” “Ah!” Eleanor screamed, releasing her hold on Sophie and grabbing her matted, grease covered hair. Pulling and twisting on the black locks, she drew the attention of more than a dozen blinds, who had stopped and were staring at the two women like they were dancing naked in the moonlight. “Salamanders breathe fire. Poor little crickets never stood a chance. Now they live in the belly of the beast.” Eleanor laughed, releasing her hair. Hooking her thumbs together, she spread her fingers and pretended they were a pair of wings. “Pretty little butterfly, lost and alone; wings made of silver and gold. Flutter to the heavens, little butterfly. Fly far, far away. Don’t come back for another day!”“Someone, call the police,” a man standing behind her complained. “The bitch is as high as a kite. I’m so tired of these fucking homeless assholes coming out every time they need a fix, expecting us to feel sorry for them and give them money. They make the whole area look worthless.”“No shit,” his friend said, smirking. “They should lock them away and throw away the key, lazy-ass, sons of bitches.”Eleanor snapped her head up, glaring right at him. Tall and chubby, the man took a step backward as she stood up. Sophie could feel her grandmother trembling, but before Sophie could do anything to calm her down, Eleanor brought her hand up in front of her and said, “Thy reflected orbs offend my nature. Perhaps they should vanish, to save mankind from the judgment of a peon.” With a snap of her fingers, the man’s eyes disappeared, leaving nothing but a black shadow in their place

M.B. Feeney's Review Tour
From Goodreads: The world is filled with people destined to help and to serve. Doctors, nurses, police, and firefighters—each and every day, these special people work to help others in times of need. Often, this means putting their own lives at risk in order to do their jobs. They give of themselves to benefit society, and they do it without any expectation of thanks.
And then there is the military…
These are the men and women who don’t head home to their families and safe homes to relax at the end of a shift. They are on the front lines, far from home and often fighting someone else’s battles because it is the right thing to do. Military families struggle to cope with the constant worry and the long periods of separation, staying strong to support those who serve in everything they do, and often are left to pick up the pieces when the highest price is paid.
Servicemen and women are heroes in the purest sense of the word. Even when the world’s gone mad and their hearts are breaking, one thing remains unchanged.
My Review of Honour
Honour * Deserter * Silence is Deafening * Letters to No One * Night Terrors * Welcome Home
By the time you put this quick read down, you’ll have reached for tissues and been left to ponder a lot, like the meaning of life. The author’s talent for crisp writing and emotional banter will pull you in easily, which is why I was a tad disappointed on the multi-chapter stories. There was so much potential for them to be developed further, yet Feeney held back for the sake of letting the reader assimilate and digest. I wanted more, but the abrupt endings were poignant in their own way.
This is a collection of six fictional short stories; some are multi-chapter, and some are simply a ‘one-shot’, but they all have to do with the central theme of how the military affects lives. What Feeney has done with her anthology, is present a series of scenarios that could be found all over the world, regardless of the country being served.
I loved how Feeney chose to show the different angles of being involved in the military: as a soldier, a family member, a spouse, a child, a friend. Her presentation order of the stories is also a tale in itself. She shows good times and bad, from the dreaded knock on the door from a uniformed officer to looking up and seeing your soldier home safe and sound.
Honour is a powerful reminder that freedom comes at a cost to more than than just the enlisted and should be read.

About the Author:
M. B. Feeney is an army brat who finally settled down in Birmingham, UK with her other half, two kids and a dog. Currently at university studying for her BA (Hons) in primary teaching, she procrastinates on her assignments by listening to music of all genres and trying to get ‘just one more paragraph’ written on whichever WIP is open. She is also a serious doodler and chocoholic. Writing has been her one true love ever since she could spell, and publishing is the final culmination of her hard work and ambition. Her publishing career began with two novellas, and she currently has a novel under way whilst Honour, a compilation of her own military based shorts, is due for release 1st November 2013. Always having something on the go can often lead to block which eventually gets dissolved by good music and an even better book.

Alone and fighting for his life in a Russian hospital, Dylan realizes he is in way over his head. Brooke Prescott has been missing for nine months. Unsure of who--or where-- she is, she must fight to remember and find her way back to those who love her the most. Will Brooke remember Dylan, or have recent events changed her so much that she will walk away and never look back? Or can Dylan be strong enough for the both of them? Can he learn to be the driving force to their redemption? "They say if you get a second chance in life, you should take it. Sometimes that is easier said than done, especially when you’re the one that has caused all the pain."
"Princess, I have to go. You heard Nurse Ratchet over there barking her orders," I said, holding my stomach as I leaned in and kissed her hand. "I love you. Don't ever forget that, Brooke."
"Nothing but diamonds. Right, Cowboy?" she asked as I was being wheeled away.
"That's right, Princess. Nothing but diamonds."She remembered. I couldn't believe it, but she remembered. It was what I'd said to her after she had made her promise to me. It would forever be etched in my heart: her words, her confession of her love to me.
"You’re perfect,” she said, placing her lips on mine. “I love you more than anything in this world. I will give you whatever you want, whatever you need. That is my promise to you, Dylan.”
She had looked so damn beautiful sprawled out before me, completely naked. I couldn't help myself when it came to her. That night, I surprised her by introducing toys into our sex play, and then told her, I wanted to fuck her while she was wearing diamonds and nothing else. Of all the things to remember...she remembered me making love to her.

EXCERPT “They call themselves gentleman, pshaw.” Henrietta plunked her boot into a muddy hole on the sidewalk outside the Abchurch secret offices. Cold water seeped through to her toes. “Arrogant, self-righteous….” The unpleasant feel of wet stockings only served to fuel her anger at the clerk and all the men in the Abchurch office, the bastion of male superiority. Her body shook from the insult and her soaked clothes. The clerk, who had refused her admittance to speak with Sir Ramston, had implied she was a spinster worried for naught about her brother. She bowed her head into the driving rain, glaring down at her sodden black boots. Her dark mood festered like the foul weather plaguing London this last week of April. The impact was sudden. She stumbled backward, her arms swung in an outward arc. The slippery mud grabbed at her boots. The man thrust his hands in the mud beside her shoulders trying to stop the impact of his large body driving her further down on the wet ground. The shock of the fall left her immobile and speechless. She was flat on her back in the middle of a main London throughway with Lord Rathbourne’s hard body pressing against her. The huge man loomed over her, grinning with all the nerve of a blatant libertine. Looking up into his chiseled face, she noticed the small laugh lines surrounding his bright eyes that seemed to be laughing back at her.

**COMING SOON**
Spending the last few years near the Queensland coast, Becca is rarely out of the sea or off the beach. Dragging her long board with her and her overworked Kindle Fire, Becca enjoys her three addictions: reading, surfing and ogling surfers, one of whom is her husband of ten years. She can still be found regularly on the beach with her family. Becca tends to leave the surfing to her boys; she's far too busy immersed in her own writing or, of course, with her head still buried in a new read. * Fun Facts *1. I have twin toes on both feet—the two next to my big toe. They’re pretty freakin’ awesome. I terrorize my hubby with them.
2. After 10+ years of trying to write a completely different book, I wrote from start to finish A Perfect Moment in less than four months – go figure!
3. One of the scenes in APM—okay, maybe several—really happened. This one involved a special oil!
4. I’ve read the Twilight Saga approximately six times.
5. My feet grew—literally went up a whole size—after I had my boy.
6. I love watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer reruns.
7. I met my now husband when I was just 16.

10. I have a habit at laughing when it’s inappropriate to do so. It may have included my hubby’s grandfather’s funeral. Whoops!
11. Preston was inspired by my sexy hubby.
12. I tend not to plan too much when I’m writing. I allow my characters to lead me.
13. APM’s ending was nothing like I envisioned it would be.
14. There will be at least four books in my Perfect Series. J
15. I went touring around Europe on a motorbike with my hubby.

RELEASE BLITZ & GIVEAWAY: The Perfect Spirit by Traci Hayden

In a beautiful valley in the Rocky Mountains, Nessa finds herselfwondering about a mysterious stranger who saved her after a nearly disastrous car accident. The mystery that surrounds Daniel is quickly replaced by the increasing attraction Nessa feels for him. Will she find that love that transcends all love or will an unforeseen tragedy keep them apart?
Excerpt
“I lost both my parents as a child.”“How did they die?” Daniel asked softly.“Car accident, same as my great-aunt and uncle.” Daniel's sharp intake of air was followed quickly by his next comment. “And you almost died in that car accident a few weeks ago. It seems fate is cruel.”Nessa realized he was right. Not so much about her dying, but the fact that fate seemed to repeat itself. “I didn't almost die. The doctor said I was lucky.”“You were lucky because I was there. If I hadn't been,” he argued, “who knows how long you would've been exposed. You could've died without me connecting with you.”“You are my savior, Daniel,” she whispered. “My beautiful angelic savior.”“You're too sweet with your words, ma belle.” “It's true, Daniel. I don't know what it is about you, but I feel such a connection to you,” she admitted as she traced her finger across the back of his hand. “You're always so cold.”Daniel guffawed. “Cold hands, warm heart.” He cupped her face, pulling her in close. “In this case, my heart flames for you.”Nessa's body relaxed into his and he pulled her, comforter and all, onto his lap. He cradled her close to him, savoring their connection as much as she did.

Author to AUTHOR Sneak Peek Sunday: The Land of the Shadow by Lissa Bryan
The sequel to the
End of All Things
will be released in August. The End of All Things told the story of the pandemic that destroyed modern society. Carly and Justin traveled across the ravaged US, searching for a safe home, but it was also a journey into love. The Land of the Shadow tells the story of their struggle to build a safe refuge for their growing family. Carly has to decide how far she's willing to go to protect those she loves when danger looms on the horizon.
W
Carly was still awake when he came up to their bedroom, reading by a kerosene lamp. She smiled at him and held her arms out. Happy to go into them, he gave her a kiss, sitting down beside her on the bed.
“Home from prowling?” she asked.
“I wasn’t prowling tonight. I was talking with our newest resident.”
“What do you think?”
“I think she’s going to fit in fine.”
Carly laughed. “Is that all you’re going to say?”
He nodded. “It’s all that’s important.”
He stood and went to undress, hanging up his clothes—they weren’t able to wash everything after one wearing like the old days. He pulled on a T-shirt and shorts, then climbed into his warm bed next to his wife. This was one of his favorite parts of the day, when he felt most content. This was a place where he belonged. Though he hadn’t realized it, he’d been searching for this all his life, and he had it at last.
“I guess it is.” Carly plumped up his pillow before he lay down beside her. “I’m glad you’re home. I always worry when you’re out there, you know.”
“I know. I worry about you, too. ‘Safe’ doesn’t really exist anymore. There are so many things—”
“Chicken thieves . . . alligators.”
“Don’t remind me.” He groaned and pulled up the sheet. It was all the covering they could stand in the heat.
“I feel safe with you.” She snuggled up against his side. “And I know you’ll do your best to keep our community safe. And your best is pretty darn good.”
“I’ll do anything I can to protect you and Dagny,” he said. “’Til my dying breath.”
“And the new world we’re building . . . it feels strange to think this is the beginning of someone’s history book. Like, we’re the Pilgrims, the new settlers.”
He smiled. He always liked when Carly had these grandiose fantasies. It meant she thought of their story as having a happy ending. That fate really was leading them, and the generations that would come after them, to a great destiny.
“Someday, they will write poems about you. The legend of the warrior-king.”
Carly said it in a light, teasing manner, but he knew she did wonder about it. How they would be remembered. How they would be judged for the decisions they made in its creation, and its protection.
“Someday, they will write fairy tales about you,” Justin replied. “The Druid Queen who could call animals to her side, whose judgments were compassionate and just, and whose beauty was like the summer sunshine.”
She smiled. “You are quite the poet yourself.”
“Will they remember how much I loved you? That’s the most important part of the story. I want the world to remember that. I want to write it in the stars.”
She turned and kissed him, and then there was no more need for words.W
The Land of the Shadow will be released in August. Check out the Goodreads page here.
Praise for The End of All ThingsBut this isn't just a story of two people who find love in the unlikeliest people and places. This story is also about survival and the difficult decisions people have to make to ensure it. --Amy, GoodreadsThe End of All Things is more about hope and second chances, and I very much enjoyed the tale .... highly recommended for all fans of apocalyptic fiction. It's a well-written book with excellent pace, plot, and best, it has real soul.-- Jade Kerrion, Goodreads
I am not usually fond of The End of the World As We Know It books, but this book was so much more than a post apocalypse story. It contained adventure, mystery, sadness and a truly sweet romance. --Pamela, Goodreads
