cool TWCS logo PRESENTS. . .A Cover Revealfor Bloodlines by Vanessa Skye
Bloodlines-Hi-Res-Cover
Release Date: January 22 , 2015Published by The Writers Coffee Shop SUMMARY Bloodlines-3D-Paperback-eReader Following the acclaimed debut of The Enemy Inside and its sequel, Broken, comes the stunning conclusion to the ‘Edge of Darkness’ series by investigative journalist Vanessa Skye, Blood Lines. Detective Alicia “Berg” Raymond is lying. She’s lying to the Chicago Police Department, to her boyfriend, Captain Jay O’Loughlin, but most of all, she’s lying to herself—about her past, her future, and her ongoing addiction. As Berg investigates a series of brutal rapes and sinks under an ever-increasing caseload, she finds herself juggling every aspect of her life—finding justice for victims of crime, keeping her own sordid past buried from her colleagues, struggling with blackmail that threatens to push her over the edge, and protecting her lover from the details of all of it. Wrapping her damaged head around living in a state of domestic bliss she’s certain she doesn’t deserve, Berg is driven by the need for justice and a determination to stop a rapist before any more innocent lives are ravaged. But when enemies from the past threaten her present, she is once again vulnerable to the demons that have plagued her every day of her life. It’s only a matter of time before her lies unravel and the fairy tale she’s finally started believing implodes . . . but the biggest threat of all, as it turns out, is her very own bloodline. Can she save herself, and the casualties of crime, from the lurking darkness waiting to strike, or will her own mistakes drag her under—this time for good?

Bloodlines-3D-Paperback Goodreads * Add to Want To Read List ABOUT THE AUTHOR vskye Vanessa Skye has always had a love of words and spent her school years writing poetry, speeches, and fictional essays. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in print journalism and studying psychology at Charles Sturt University, Vanessa got a job at Australia's largest publisher of regional and agricultural news and information, Rural Press, where she worked as a journalist in the central west of New South Wales for four years. Thousands of stories later, Vanessa decided to move back to Sydney and try her hand at public relations while studying for a master’s degree in communication. Skip forward a few years and Vanessa was once again joyfully studying various psychology subjects while managing a Sydney public relations firm. Enthralled with examining the motivations behind people’s actions, Vanessa realized what she really wanted to do in life was combine her love of words with her fascination for human behavior. So Vanessa quit public relations to begin the significantly more impoverished life of a professional writer. Inspired by a recurring dream, Vanessa wrote her crime fiction debut, The Enemy Inside, which challenges the concept of justice, asks if the need for vengeance sometimes justifies murder, and explores whether you can ever heal from childhood abuse. Broken is her second book in this series. In her spare time, Vanessa wrote a short story, The Piece, which was published in February 2012, by Dark Prints Press as a part of the 'One That Got Away' dark fiction anthology. Vanessa now works as a freelance writer, lives in Sydney’s northern beaches, and tries to immerse herself in salt water at least once a day.

REVIEW: Just Like Pulling Teeth by L.J. Harris

From Goodreads:

A trip to the dentist has never been so… interesting…

Genre: m/m contemporary romance
Length: 54 pages
Prize on Amazon: $2.99

ADD it on GOODREADS / BUY it on AMAZON

~MY REVIEW~
I've had the privilege of following Ms. Harris' writing career for a few years now. Every time I've opened a new story from her, it's been like slipping on a favorite sweater and getting cozy in front of a roaring fire with a new adventure awaiting me between the pages.  Just Like Pulling Teeth was no different. Her classy style of writing is a perfect balance of detail and 'left to the imagination' so the reader gets effortlessly pulled into the story, and is happy to stay there until it's over.
Through Ms. Harris' words, you feel Aiden's pain as impacted, and infected, wisdom teeth force him to find a dentist. Not realizing he's being set up by his sister, he sets an appointment with Dr. Sebastian Gibbs at her recommendation. Turns out the good-looking Brazilian doctor is single, and gay, making him a potential candidate for Aiden's affections. What progresses is a slow dance of taking care of business before pleasure. The two men become friends, then eventually more, while the weeks of dental treatment go by.
Harris does a brilliant job of combining humor, low drama, and love into this delightful afternoon read. It might be titled Just Like Pulling Teeth , however reading it is anything but!

Callum Davis and Derek Flores have been the best friends since they met freshman year. While they've admitted their attraction to each other, neither have the courage to act on their feelings, both fearful of losing their friendship. At least, not until they meet Elle and Sadie at Club Venom.

And what will happen when their families find out about their unconventional relationship? Is their forbidden awakening worth unraveling the secrets they've been keeping?Cover Design: JC Clarke with Grafix Momma

 Excerpt:

“It’s okay to be scared. Hell so am I.”“You are?” she asked, and Sadie nodded. “What are you afraid of?”Sadie brought her hand up to Elle’s cheek. “Of losing you again.”“You never lost me in the first place,” she whispered, leaning in and pressing her lips against Sadie’s.“Jesus Christ, we can never leave them alone.” At the sound of Derek’s husky voice, they pulled apart, smiling as they turned to the men standing in the entry way of the living room. “Seriously. If you wait until we leave the room to start kissing, we’ll never get to watch.”“Is watching all you want to do?” Sadie asked, standing up and walking over to him. She placed her hand on his chest, let it slide down to the front of his pants, and gripped his noticeable bulge. “Seems like you want to do more than just watch.”“Oh, baby, you have no idea what I want to do to you,” he groaned, just before he kissed her. “Oy, not yet!” Callum laughed, pulling them apart. “Food first, sex second.”“Assuming there is sex later.” Elle smirked as she stood up. The wounded expressions on Derek and Callum’s faces had her chortling. “Wow, you two are so cute when you’re bubble has been busted.”“I didn’t mean to just assume that we’d be having sex,” Callum said, sounding flustered. Elle walked over to him, placed her hand on his chest, and leaned up on her toes so that her lips were just outside of his ear. “Never said there wouldn’t be any, either,” Elle cooed, causing him take a deep breath. “But I’m starving. So no food, no sex.”“Then we’d better eat,” he moaned, almost dragging her into the dining room with Derek and Sadie following.

Obsessive, compulsive, slightly crazed, but enough about her personality. First and foremost, Lisa Bilbrey is a mom to three and a wife to one. She loves to write, and spends the majority of everyday writing. It's who she is, and what she's meant to be doing. Words are her life, the air she breathes, and the nutrients of her soul. Finding a love in the written word, Lisa Bilbrey started writing as a way to express herself and let her voice be heard. From the first word she wrote, she'd found her heart and soul.
Always willing to learn, she's spends much of her time trying to improve as a storyteller.

#SurrealSnippet: Author Error in YOUR Favor!

Good morning, and happy Saturday to everyone! I'm here to fess up to a little itchy trigger finger and mishap on my part. Alas, it's all part of the ever-growing learning curve of the wide world of self-publishing. At least that's the story I'm sticking to. Anyways, I was trying to be pro-active and get things set up to go next month, and ended up actually launching the pre-sale for Surreal. Hence the author error in your favor. You're welcome.
Pre-order SURREAL today!

This also means I've jumped the gun on the cover reveal . . . oops. So, um, SURPRISE!

"If you are looking for a titillating read that will leave you wanting.. read this book!"
"Strong characters who are well written, complex and truthful to the BDSM lifestyle."
A Divine Life
"A Divine Life is very descriptive and extremely well written."
". . . a story of power and strength to over come the baggage that you carry. . ."
"I was truly speechless when I finished reading. The book follows the development of Jayden and Erin’s relationship as he lavishes her with surprises and treats to celebrate their first year together as Dom and sub, but for both of them, it’s evolved into much more than that."
Surreal
"RE Hargrave put her heart and soul into this book!"
"I have been waiting for what seems like forever for surreal, for more of Catherine and Jayden. I managed to read this is one day, and that's impressive considering the size of the book! That's how much I enjoyed it. Written to perfection as always from RE Hargrave. Catherine and Jayden's story continues in The Divine Trilogy. It has its love, drama and emotions. This one had a considerable amount of emotional moments to the point I nearly cried...so keep them tissues handy ;) I can't express how amazing this book is, how amazing the whole trilogy is and am planning to read them all again in the future!"
"The perfect ending for this wonderful trilogy."

RELEASE BLITZ: Just Like Pulling Teeth by L.J. Harris

A trip to the dentist has never been so… interesting…
EXCERPT: “BOLLOCKS,” I groaned, failing at my attempt to chew on the wedge of pickle-covered cheese. It was only Tuesday, and yet, as I sat at the end of the bar at the Thistle and Lion, whining and moaning with every bite of my ploughman’s lunch, this particular week had already begun to drag. I’d had the mother of all headaches for two days, and throbbing gums for three, the pain so bloody awful I’d been driven to take some long overdue time off work. My bite had been out of alignment for weeks, thanks to the swelling in the back of my mouth, and everything above my shoulders hurt.
Even my sodding hair.
The ibuprofen I was taking was no longer helping, and I hadn’t slept well in days. Luckily my sister, Rachel, was able to secure an appointment with a new dentist near where she worked. Dr. Anderson had been looking after my teeth ever since I was a young lad, but retired earlier in the year. As much as I felt awkward around new people, I figured I’d give this new bloke a shot, considering my dear sister had been gushing about how wonderful he was non-stop for the past few weeks. It wasn’t as though I had much choice, anyway. The other dentists I’d contacted, including every one of them at the Holistic Solutions Clinic, were booked solid for months ahead.
I didn’t even give a toss if I had to get my teeth pulled, if it meant the pain would go away.
Unable to finish my meal, I downed the rest of my pint to help sate my hunger and perhaps give me a little Dutch courage before I left a tenner on the end of the bar and headed for the men’s to carefully floss and brush.
It was torture, yes, but no sense in grossing out the new dentist with my recently acquired mustard pickle and beer breath.
I made my way across the cobbled alleyway that was a stone’s throw away from the city centre, the London sun shining and the air brisk with mid-October winds, until I found myself standing in the lobby of the two-storey building. Quickly checking the directory located next to a small cafe, I made my way up the single flight of stairs, passing by everything from chiropractors to physiotherapists, acupuncturists to hypnotherapists.
I was certain the name on suite door number ten, Acacia Dental Spa, was a contradiction in terms.
JUST LIKE PULLING TEETH is also a part of the BOLLOCKS! Anthology

L. J. Harris was born in Sydney, Australia and now lives in the nation’s capital with her husband and twin teenage sons.  She has only just discovered her passion for writing in the past few years.  Shy by nature, she recently discovered that after her father fell ill, writing down whatever she felt not only helped her deal with the situation, but express herself in a way she couldn’t before. It was her work in a local Library that spawned her love of books, and that love has continued ever since. Working part time in the child care industry afforded her the opportunity to explore the sudden drive to write, and with her husband’s encouragement, she penned a dream sequence around which one of her novels is built. She loves to build the sexual tension in characters and develop interesting plot twists, as well as leaving her readers wanting more.

BLOG TOUR & REVIEW: Eight Days a Week by Amber L. Johnson

Eight Days a Week by Amber L. Johnson
A "manny" should always mind his own business. And he definitely shouldn’t fall in love with his boss.

Release Date: November 6 , 2014Published by The Writers Coffee ShopGenre: Romance / ContemporaryISBN e-book: 978-1-61213-329-4Available from: Amazon, Kobo, Barnes and Noble, and TWCS PH

~~SUMMARY~~ Eight-Days-a-Week-3D-Bookstack-2

Gwen Stone has secrets she’s not ready to reveal. After a recent promotion at work, she needs a caretaker for her children. She’s frenzied and in a lurch and pretty much ready to hire the first person who comes along. So she does. Andrew Lyons needs to get out of his sister’s apartment, and a Craigslist posting may be the answer to his prayers. But what he thought was an ad for a room rental turns into a job offer he can’t refuse. Accepting the nanny position could change his life, if only he had a clue how to be a grownup. A working mother, a shirtless “manny” who looks good in a towel, two children who need more than a babysitter, and hours of kids’ TV can only spell disaster for everyone involved. Because a manny should always mind his own business. And he definitely shouldn’t fall in love with his boss.

~MY REVIEW~

This is my first time reading Ms. Johnson's work, but it will not be my last. *ponders how to find time to read copy of Beatless mocking me from my bookcase*
Seriously, people, if you like a feel good story with a creative cast of characters, you can't go wrong with Eight Days a Week. It'll make you laugh, cry, and root for the little guy. Or, erm, not so little . . . sorry, Don.
Andrew ‘Dee’ Lyons enters the story as your typical “trust fund, its all about me, rich boy” who has run out of his play money. If he wants to get his hands on the rest of his inheritance, he’s going to have to grow up. Insert an interfering sister and a Craigslist ad, and watch the hijinks and mayhem ensue. Starting with the interview where Dee first lays sight on Gwen Stone, becoming tongue-tied and landing himself a job as a nanny, erm, manny.

There’s no other way to put it, except that I loved this story. It had all the right elements to keep me engaged and involved in what was happening to the characters. While Eight Days a Week is not an erotica, there are intense sexy moments (some interlaced with rather humorous moments as well!), therefore making this an adult read. As a mother of three, the scenes involving the kids were priceless, and spot on.

Kudos, Ms. Johnson, on an amazing book.

She believes in Happily Ever Afters that occur every day—despite the obstacles real life serves up on a regular basis. Or perhaps they’re sweeter simply because of them. She always has two rubber bands on her wrist, a song in her head, and too much creamer in her coffee cup that reads ‘Cocoa,’ because she’s a rebel. If she’s not at her desk, with her boys, or behind the computer, she’s supporting live music with her arms raised above her head and her eyes closed, waiting for the drop.

Praise for Eight Days a Week "Laugh-out-loud story about a guy who goes to look at a room to rent and discovers it comes with a job - that of live-in nanny to two damaged kids. So Andrew Lyons accidentally becomes the "manny". Written in his POV, this book chronicles his hilarious escapades as he looks after and grows to love Bree and Brady, and his employer, Gwen. His pranks and spot-on observations about kids' TV shows had me giggling, but there were a few serious moments worthy of a sniffle as well. The star of the show may be Don, though - you'll just have to read this book to find out about him! Highly recommended."  - Andrea Goodreads Review

Author to AUTHOR Sneak Peek Sunday: Eire's Devil King by Sandi Layne

EDK-Coming-Soon copy
The final book of Sandi Layne's Éire's Viking Trilogy will be out in the spring!Éire's Devil KingSummary: An ambitious man, Tuirgeis Erlingrson has nurtured the desire to carve a place of leadership on Éire. Having connections with his adopted brother, Cowan, and Agnarr, his former countryman, Tuirgeis feels he has the support he needs to make his claims strong. Agnarr and Aislinn—though she is heavy with child—sail with Cowan and Charis to join Tuirgeis as he battles one final summer to seek the High Kingship. Charis finds that her Otherworldly gifts are needed by a man she considers her enemy. In addition, Tuirgeis wants to establish his father-line. He has one son; he wants another to be born of Éire. Will the woman he desires accept him? Tuirgeis knows his time is limited; the Danes are coming in greater numbers than before. If he wants to be the High King, he’s going to have to prove that he is more than a Viking. Excerpt: Though still leery of bodies of water, Charis never forgot that they bore life and that was precious to her. The water crept gently up the slope with careful fingers, as if knowing she was hesitant to approach such a large amount of it. When there was a stiff wind the waves furled whitely, rows upon rows of them; just then, however, there was peace and calm. She stared out over the lough, about to bend down to dig the roots from the rushes there, when a stirring within her kept her upright. There, to the northwest, something moved above the water. A small flock of grebes were nearby, their stuttering caws high pitched and active before they splashed out of the water. Scowling at them, she focused again on the distant object and, with a sudden start, she realized she knew exactly what it was. “Cowan . . .” Her whisper traveled no farther than her own ear. They shouldn’t be coming this way. The Northmen came by sea, not through a lake. Of course, there would be tributaries, but surely . . . “Ide? We have to go. Right now. Back to the rath.” The younger woman ran to her, her feet slipping on the muddy grass near the water. “What is it, Charis?” Pointing, Charis didn’t have to say a word. Ide knew. “Northmen. From the Danes? King, King Horik?” The names were familiar now, after seasons of stories and preparations. All color drained from her face, leaving freckles to stand in sharp relief. “I don’t know,” Charis said, backing away while keeping an eye on the longship that was growing closer every few moments. “But the men must ready themselves. As I must.” She wondered, as they hurried back to the safety of the village, if the one safety tunnel was yet deep enough to hide all the children of Tuaim Rithe. Praise for the Éire's Viking Trilogy:
Compelling, three-dimensional characters who are interesting, imperfect, and very intriguing make the story pop and grab the reader’s interest as they each journey through their own adversities towards their ultimate destinies. – Great Historicals
