He Used ChatGPT to Build a $6000/Month Business

Published October 26, 2023 by Fardeen KhanReviewed and edited by Niall Doherty
Pete McPherson is the founder of DYEB (Do You Even Blog), where he teaches blogging via courses, YouTube and a podcast.
He recently tweeted a screenshot showing $6,039.49 in monthly recurring revenue
Pete’s words with that screenshot…
Built and launched a Saas product by my lonesome.
I’m not a developer.
His software as a service (SaaS) product is FABB, described as “an end-to-end AI machine for bulk blogging”
Pete goes on to explain how he built it…
1 – I DO have HTML/CSS experience from years of using WordPress.
2 – I started back in March, going through @thenetninjauk’s React course and building an app alongside it. It took 2 months and was a huge, huge, huge pain in the ass. I learned a TON.
3 – I spent a few weeks cleaning that app, marketing it to the email list, etc.
4 – I started work on FABB (the “real” app idea I’ve had since Jan), and chose SvelteKit + Firebase because of a 100-second YouTube video.
5 – I went through the course, building my app as I went along.
THEN I USED CHATGPT to fill in the blanks of code.
Yes, it started off super rough, and wouldn’t work 80% of the time.
But I kept at it, and after a few weeks I hardly needed AI at all to implement changes.
Several months back, Pete published this video
Looks like that’s the app he was referring to in Step 2 above.
At the start of the video he says…
If you wanted to code an app, a Chrome extension, a WordPress plugin, a mobile app, anything… whether you’re a developer or not, I have some notes on how you could get started
Later he shows all the code for that app and notes…
I can’t really tell you a whole lot about how some of this stuff works. But honest to goodness, like 98% of this was done with ChatGPT and the other 2% was me Googling and figuring out how to do stuff
Pretty amazing how Pete went from essentially no backend coding knowledge to single-handedly building a SaaS that earns him $6000/month… all in the space of ~7 months
Of course, Pete did have an audience built up to market his SaaS to. Without that, it surely would have taken him much longer to hit $6K/month in revenue.
Still, if you have an idea for an app yourself, fire up ChatGPT and see what it can do

$25K/Month Reselling Thrift Store Items Online

Published October 26, 2023 by Fardeen KhanReviewed and edited by Niall Doherty
Cayley Elaine is a reseller who recently shared a video on how she earned $7473 in one week …
She basically sources secondhand clothing and accessories – usually from thrift stores – then resells them on her eBay and Poshmark stores.
Cayley shares her journey via her weekly “What Sold” videos on YouTube, which give an inside look at her sales from the previous week.
Looking at her videos from the past few months, she’s consistently reporting revenues of $5000 to $8000 each week
Of the $7473 in revenue in the video mentioned above, Cayley’s gross profit was $4874 (65%).
She says in the video…
eBay and Poshmark, those are my two main platforms. I just love tracking my sales every single week to see if what I’m doing is working or maybe not working and where to pivot.
It sounds like she has a team of 2-3 people helping her out.
Cayley emphasizes finding and listing items that have high sales rates or items with a higher average selling price. I assume she does some pre-thrift store shopping research to find out what sells and what doesn’t
Another video from Cayley…
Thrift With Me – Real Time Footage + Sourcing Sheet…There you can see what the day-to-day of a resale business looks like.
While what sells can vary regionally, from what Cayley shares in her video the best categories/brands seem to be…
Women’s athleisure and vintage – from Lululemon, Johnny Was.Men’s basics and athletic wear – from Faherty, Howler Bros.Outerwear like blazers and down puffers – from J.Crew, Columbia.Handbags – from Kate Spade. The key here seems to be capitalizing on seasonal trends, knowing your niche vintage brands, and sticking to best-selling basics from top performing brands.
Summarizing some other tips Cayley shares in the first video

How does Cashflowing Chrome Extensions help you make money?
Cashflowing Chrome Extensions aims to help you make money by creating and selling a form of micro SaaS, Google Chrome extensions.
Micro software-as-a-service products solve a specific problem for a niche audience. A micro SaaS typically bolts onto existing software to enhance and customize user experience.
In this way, a Chrome extension is a bolt-on to the Google Chrome browser.
And regular SaaS is usually a standalone software product.
For example, Shopify is SaaS, and Shopify Apps are micro-SaaS.
Picture for comparison…

There are endless Chrome extensions you could create.
For example, you might create an extension that estimates website traffic and market it to search engine optimization marketers who want to avoid paying for expensive tools.
Or you might create an extension that uses artificial intelligence like ChatGPT to summarize research papers and market it to college students who want to save time on schoolwork.
You make money when people buy your extension, which is often on a recurring basis.
So Chrome extensions are a viable path to passive income.
And if all goes well, you may have the opportunity to sell your Chrome extension.
Here’s what the sales page says about how you can make money…
Learn more about digital productsWho is Cashflowing Chrome Extensions for?The course will teach you various methods of monetizing Chrome Extensions, including earning a subscription income from your extensions and potentially a cash lump sum if you sell your extension(s) via a business broker.
Cashflowing Chrome Extensions seems to target intermediate to advanced developers who want to make an extra or full-time income as an entrepreneur.
The sales page describes who it’s for well.
In summary, it’s likely for you if…
You have a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptYou’re willing to put in the time and effort requiredYou want to turn your passion for coding into incomeAnd I’d say it’s not for you, only if ALL of these are true…
You don’t know how to codeYou aren’t willing to learnYou don’t have the means to outsource the workWhile the course doesn’t cover outsourcing, it should make you knowledgeable enough to communicate with a freelance developer who can handle the coding for you.
70+ ways how to make money online (including easy options)Does Rick Blyth have a good reputation?Yes, it seems so.
I found no complaints or controversies about Rick during my research.
According to the free training video, he has generated over $500k with Chrome Extensions.
His first extension reportedly made him $3,000 from a weekend’s work…

He then created a Chrome extension called Merch Wizard, which looks to have earned him over $200k…

He then created another extension called KDP Wizard, bundled it with Merch Wizard, and sold the two for a reported $275k…

So I think it’s safe to say Rick walks his talk.
Here’s a video from Rick Blyth’s YouTube channel to get a feel for his style…
Are Rick Blyth’s students getting results? There’s a bunch of positive feedback about Rick and Cash Flowing Chrome Extensions, including…

But I didn’t find any screenshots of student earnings or results. While I still think the course is worthwhile, it’d be nice to see some student results proving its effectiveness.
How much does Cash Flowing Chrome Extensions cost?Cashflowing Chrome Extensions costs $795 one-time or 3x payments of $320.
There are no additional costs required to follow the training.
Cash Flowing Chrome Extensions Discount?I’ve searched high and low for a discount or coupon code but have yet to find mention of one anywhere, and there’s no place to enter one at checkout.
Sorry guys: looks like it’s full-price or nothing.
Refund PolicyCash Flowing Chrome Extensions offers a 30-day refund guarantee.

Cashflowing Chrome Extensions is a video-based training. Lessons and modules are outlined on the sales page.
Videos are about 3 minutes on average, clearly labeled, step-by-step, and feature over-the-shoulder screen recordings.
Here’s a sneak peek inside a lesson…

Here are a few things to like about Cashflowing Chrome Extensions…
Most students seem to rate the course highly. No expense beyond the price of the training.30-day money-back guarantee.Comprehensive, step-by-step, and over-the-shoulder.Rick Blyth walks his talk.No hype or sleazy sales tactics.A solid amount of bonuses.Red Flags 🚩Some knocks on Cashflowing Chrome Extensions…
Lack of student earnings proof. No search functionality; can be hard to find specific lessons.Unclear if the training is still being updated.Other things you should knowA good way to think of Rick Blyth’s training: It basically documents everything he’s done to build two successful Google Chrome extensions. When you join the course, you get access to that documentation. You’ll find lots of handy downloads within the training, including example chrome extension source codes, premium tools, AI prompts, etc.👇 Subscribe to eBiz Insider 👇Every Tuesday and Friday we email 19,180 people like you with top tips, insights and opportunities to build your online business. Cashflowing Chrome Extensions is a comprehensive micro-saas training covering many topics on Google Chrome extensions, from ideation to development to marketing to exiting the business.
But because the course doesn’t go too deep into any particular subject, I wouldn’t recommend it to beginners as there might be too much to figure out on your own.
That said, I think there’s a strong chance you can generate passive income from this as a developer or self-motivated entrepreneur if followed and implemented accurately.
Plus, there’s a 30-day money-back guarantee.
IMO, this makes it a no-brainer investment.

Petflix: $10M+ Helping Pets Relax

Published October 23, 2023 by Niall DohertyContributor: Fardeen Khan
RoundWaves started back in 2011 as a project by Amman Ahmed and composer Ricardo Henriquez to create soothing audio tracks to help people relax
But they soon noticed that pets were also responding positively to the music.
Per a 2019 Forbes article, this led them to pivot and create Music For Pets, which became “a thriving seven figure business.”
Their revenue models are based on ad sales, streaming royalties and subscription, but it is the latter which sits at the heart of their future strategy for dramatic growth.
Get a feel for their music via their YouTube channels
The Times reported this past July that Amman…
has sold his firm for an “eight-figure sum” to Create Music — a California record label best known for representing hip-hop artists such as 6ix9ine and Trippie Redd.
So that’s a $10+ million payday
The idea originally came from Ricardo’s dog Zuki, who would get stressed by the sounds of gang violence in his neighborhood in El Salvador. Seeing Zuki relax while listening to music composed for him was the eureka moment for Amman.
Business Insider reported a few months back…
The content is also available on Spotify, and “Petflix,” as some fans call it, now garners about 20 million monthly users.
Also from that article…
Running a skeleton operation with few overheads, Ahmed said he focused on listener satisfaction to retain and grow his user base. He’d call pet owners who enjoyed his channels to get more specific feedback about what they liked.
Ahmed said he has only spent $5,000 on marketing over the years, preferring word of mouth and search-engine optimization. That meant the revenue generated from the channels far exceeded the costs.
“Because we grew through word of mouth, every person tells another six to seven people but with genuine passion,” he told Insider.
What a world we live in, where someone can earn $10 million creating relaxing music for pets
Goes to show that even the most niche ideas have the potential to earn big via the internet.

This Helped Grow Her Business to $1.7M/Year

Published October 23, 2023 by Niall DohertyContributor: Fardeen Khan
Lindsay Pinchuk founded Bump Club & Beyond back in 2010.
You can see an archived version of the website here
The blurb…
Where Parents and Parents-to-Be Connect
Bump Club and Beyond brings you the best resources, information, experts, product suggestions and dozens of premier events across the country every month!
Bump Club and Beyond curates the best information and advice from the nation’s top experts, and partners with the most trusted brands in the parenting space.
A recent profile reveals that Lindsay bootstrapped the business to $1.7 million in annual revenue and grew the email list to 130,000 subscribers.
She then sold the business in 2019 for an undisclosed sum, but presumably it was something like 2-3x annual revenue
A key driver of her success was Lindsay’s focus on partnerships…
She orchestrated giveaways with relevant brands, speakers within the industry and events in retail locations where their community shopped, as well as blog posts and cross-promotions.
While paid partnerships developed over time, they focused primarily on organic partnerships, prioritizing opportunities where the partner would share with their audience.
So Lindsay prioritized growing her audience ahead of monetization.
Once she’d built up a good-size audience, it likely wasn’t hard to land those paid partnerships.
Maybe you could partner with other businesses to grow your own audience?
If you have a newsletter, you could reach out to another newsletter with a similar audience and propose a cross-promotion
Same could work well for growing a podcast, a YouTube channel, a social media following, etc.
Another takeaway from Lindsay’s story: her big idea was to host in-person events for a particular community, and eventually monetize with partnerships (and a VIP club).
Lindsay’s chosen community was parents and parents-to-be.
What other communities might this work well for?

Conference Badges = $5 Million in Sales

Published October 23, 2023 by Fardeen KhanReviewed and edited by Niall Doherty
Conference Badge provides an easy way for event organizers to design and order name badges
Founder Philippe-Antoine Lehoux wrote in 2013 that he’d started the business a year prior…
The idea came after struggling to print name badges at a game jam festival I organized in Quebec City.
Their two products
PDF name badges ($0.25 each) and Printed name badges ($2.00 each). PDF is our most popular product.
Philippe says of their first year in business…
We did try AdWords and LinkedIn ads without much success…
…most of our traffic is word of mouth, Eventbrite referrals and Google organic searches.
They’d hit $7000 in monthly revenue after that first year, and saw lots of opportunities for growth
Including…
We’re leaving a lot of money on the table because of the long turnaround time we offer from Canada — we absolutely need to find a printing partner in the US.
Fast forward to August of this year, and Philippe tweeted…
ConferenceBadge.com might be for sales.
2019: $830 000 USD in revenue

2022: $564 000 USD in revenue
2023: En route for $700 000 USD in revenue
In reply to a comment he added…
30% of the revenue are PDFs of badges, so no fulfillment.
Then, a few weeks later…
WE SOLD @ConfBadge!
56 days from this first tweet to the deal closing!
And added a screenshot from showing the business had done $5 million in lifetime sales since 2013
Unclear what the sale price was, but I’m guessing around $2 million.
Back to something Philippe wrote in 2013, after they’d hit $7000/month in revenue…

$10,000/month Helping People Write Better YouTube Titles

Published October 23, 2023 by Niall DohertyContributor: Fardeen Khan
Jake Thomas runs Creator Hooks…
A Weekly Newsletter To Help You Write Better YouTube Titles In Just 5 Minutes
A recent edition
Jake has apparently grown the newsletter to 30K subscribers. He also does occasional consulting and has a paid database product called Creator Hooks Pro.
Jake developed his knack for YouTube titles while working as a marketing manager for a fishing company
I would find a video that did well in another industry, like finance.
Let’s say the title was, “10 Best Credit Cards in 2023.” I would model that idea for our fishing channel and make a video about “10 Best Trout Lures in 2023.”
It worked so well that not only did I save my job, but our channel started taking off.
Ultimately, he helped the audience for that channel grow from 70K to over 200K
In May 2021, Jake launched his Creator Hooks newsletter providing tips on YouTube titles…
As an avid Twitter user, he used his connections and sent the newsletter via direct messages to 80 people in the YouTube educator space. He received positive feedback from five. Creator Hooks was born.
4 months later, Jake secured his first paying client, someone with a 10M YouTube following who hired him as a consultant. This validation enabled Jake to focus full-time on Creator Hooks
In July 2022, he launched Creator Hooks Pro in response to audience demand. For $19/month, subscribers get access to Jake’s database of title examples and thumbnail breakdowns.
Jake generates two-thirds of his revenue from Creator Hooks Pro and one-third from newsletter sponsorships.
A quick look at his sponsorship application form suggests that his sponsorship pricing starts at $5000, which means Jake is likely earning around $10,000/month from Creator Hooks Pro
He’d need ~530 people paying $19/month to hit that mark.
Overall, I think it’s safe to say he’s earning at least $10,000/month
Sounds like Twitter has been key to growing Jake’s audience…
He credits the subscriber boost to using Twitter threads and commenting on tweets published by other YouTube educators.

Insights From His $1.3 Million Sales Page

Published October 19, 2023 by Niall DohertyContributor: Fardeen Khan
A chap called Theodore posted an interesting video last December
Most of that income was from a course he was selling, though he doesn’t reveal the sites or YouTube channels he used to sell it, or what even the niche he’s operating in.
He replied to one comment on the video…
The courses are related to the niche and without giving anything away, they basically teach a skill, and with skills you can earn money, so they are marketed that way. Think “how to use different types of software” like GA4 or Photoshop or Github, for example, but in my niche.
Theodore is also on Twitter as @sixdigitniche, where he recently shared…
I single-handedly built a 7 figure sales page for a digital infoproduct.
Most likely he’s referring to the sales page for the same curse.
And his attached screenshot actually shows $1,362,268 in total sales
Again, he doesn’t give too much away, but he does share…
10 quick ideas you can try that helped me get to an 8% conversion rate
Then he goes on to share 15 ideas, the last one being…
Bonuses: I said 10 tips, and you got 15, do this on your sales page. Some of our bonuses have links to their separate sales pages to prove we aren’t just coming up with “Bonuses worth $1,999″… That we actually do sell them separately for $1,999. Ask current customers how they use your bonuses… Many people create useless bonuses that their customers don’t even want. Double check they want them by asking if they even use them.
Another couple of tips I liked…
Simple words. I don’t understand how people think using jargon will close sales. People love clear and simple things to read. Keep sentences short. Remove everything that doesn’t matter.
Include urgency. If your product never expires, find a way to give a bonus that will. “16 hours until you get a free consulting call with me” GREATLY improved conversions.
Reading through Theodore’s advice, my main takeaway is the importance of experimentation.
Sounds like he has tested and tweaked every part of his sales funnel, including…
Paid ads vs. organic trafficColor of CTA buttonsLow recurring price vs. one large priceWhite vs. black backgroundOrder of headline, video, subheadline, etc. He’s also an advocate of purposely including mistakes in your copy…
Be creative in how you ensure they read the whole page. The more they read, the more they are “investing” in you and getting closer to making a decision. This is why #4 was blank. People love pointing out errors, and I suppose those who see the error will read all of these points to see if there are any more mistakes. I’d even bet there will be someone who immediately comments about how #4 was blank before reading the rest.
I’ve seen this a lot on YouTube, and heard one YouTuber admit that they intentionally have mistakes in their videos so people will comment
More comments = more engagement = more exposure.
Btw, did you spot the mistake in this write-up?

His 77-Page PDF = $90,000 This Year

Published October 19, 2023 by Fardeen KhanReviewed and edited by Niall Doherty
His 77-Page PDF = $90,000 This Year
Kyle Asay is VP at MongoDB.
He also teaches sales skills via digital products and runs Sales Introverts, which earns him $20,000/month
He recently tweeted…
My most popular product is a 77-page PDF.
It brought in over $90,000 this year and led to 10s of thousands more in upsell revenue.
The product he’s referring to is Hit My Quota, which he describes as…
Frameworks that can transform you from bottom of the sales floor to #1 AE [Account Executive] in your company
(yes, even in a recession)
How he created it
I looked at:
– Trainings I had given
– Questions I frequently answered
– Fundamentals I had used to create success
There was a lot of crossover in these three categories.
I created “mini-frameworks” off of those areas.
Then…
I shared the mini-frameworks with my small (but growing) LinkedIn audience.
Then, I documented the mini-frameworks that earned the most positive feedback.
So he used his LinkedIn as a testing ground, sharing bits and pieces and seeing what resonated with his audience
(I bet sharing such material also helped grow his audience)
Later…
I took the top mini-frameworks and organized them into an eBook.
Only 77 pages, but 77 pages of my most proven, actionable, and replicable sales insights.
Initially, Kyle expected the product to earn around $10,000, enough to cover his expenses with some extra spending money.
But the PDF – which sells for $97 a pop – has instead become…
the pillar of a $20k/month internet business I can run while working full-time.
Simple business, real earnings.
And sure, Kyle sounds like a seasoned sales professional with lots of great info to share.
But you could replicate his approach without much experience in your field
For example, as a freelancer with 2-3 years of experience, you could share all you’ve learned that you wish you knew starting out.
Test out your nuggets on social media, build an audience and learn what content is most helpful.
Then package your best tips into a PDF like Kyle did
You probably won’t earn $20k/month doing this, but it could easily bring in a few $100 per month in passive income, especially if you keep building your audience.
