Hey, I’m Niall Doherty.
I quit my last 9-to-5 job back in 2010.
Since then, I’ve earned my living online in various ways. Over the last 3 years (through 2022) I’ve earned $536,000 from my laptop.
I’m on a mission to accurately rate and review all the best online business courses. My team and I are spending many hours investigating these courses and getting feedback from real students.
All that to say: we know a thing or two about such courses and making money online.
The Best Online Business Course? We’re on a mission to find the best courses to help you make money online, based on our own extensive research plus feedback from real students.
The Real World training covers many ways to make money online, such as copywriting, Amazon FBA, and option trading.
Unfortunately, TRW isn’t one of the best courses we’ve reviewed…

How does The Real World help you make money?
TRW is an entire suite of courses, all aiming to help you make money online.
Here are the courses you get access to when you join The Real World…
Copywriting CourseE-Com CourseFreelance CourseCryptocurrency CourseStocks CourseAmazon FBA CourseYou learn from a whole bunch of teachers / instructors inside the training, including Andrew Tate himself…

According to this TRW sales page…
We call our instructors “Professors”, but their teachings come from experience, not theory. All of our professors made over $1M in profits using the methods they teach in The Real World.
And their mission is to guide and mentor you throughout your business journey. Every single day.
Learn more about:
Amazon FBAFreelancingTradingWho is The Real World for?The Real World seemingly sells itself as a platform for complete beginners to making money online.
As stated on the sales page’s FAQ section…
This is a mentoring program, and you are here to learn from us.
Just follow our step-by-step lessons and guidance, and you will start a profitable business.
The training certainly has something for everyone, even complete beginners.
Personally, I’d say that The Real World is mainly for fans of Andrew Tate who are happy to pay $50/month for a broad introduction to many ways of making money online.
70+ ways how to make money online (including easy options)Does Andrew Tate have a good reputation? The Real World is somewhat controversial, mainly because Andrew Tate is extremely controversial.
Several prominent YouTubers have taken Andrew Tate to task for the controversial things he has said and (allegedly) done in the past.
This video provides a good overview…
As does this article from BBC: Andrew Tate detained in Romania over rape and human trafficking case
Despite those allegations, Andrew Tate has built quite a big following online, and my research uncovered more praise than criticism for him and his online courses.
However, some of that praise rings a little hollow, as many students don’t even mention any results achieved from having followed the training.
The promo video on the TRW sales page features students claiming they’ve made money on day 1. That may be true in some rare cases, but I believe it sets the wrong expectation for people new to business and entrepreneurship.
Are The Real World students getting results?Despite the controversy, it’s easy enough to find students of The Real World reporting results across all courses.
For example…

All in all, many students’ reported earnings are much bigger than the price of TRW, so my impression is that the training proves effective for most people who put in the work consistently.
How much does The Real World cost? The price of The Real World is listed at $49.99 per month.
So if you stay in the course for a full 24 months, and the price doesn’t change during that time, you’ll spend a total of $1176 just on the training.
(Of course, you can cancel your membership at any time.)
There are additional expenses for some of the courses, but sadly, not all of them are revealed on the sales page.
You’ll need at least $2000 for both stocks and ecommerce (dropshipping with paid ads) courses, but you can also make do with $300 – $500 for dropshipping with organic TikTok reach.
If you don’t have any startup capital, it is recommended that you start with the freelancing campus.
Join The Real WorldThe Real World Discount?I’ve searched high and low for a discount or coupon code but have yet to find mention of one anywhere, and there’s no place to enter a discount code on the The Real World checkout.
Sorry guys: it’s full-price or nothing.
Refund PolicyThere are no refunds for The Real World.
You can only cancel your subscription, but make sure to do it before your membership is renewed for another month.
From the Terms & Conditions page for The Real World…
How is The Real World structured? You can cancel your The Real World membership at any time by logging to your membership portal and changing your preference.
The Real World is hosted on its own platform, one that’s very similar to Discord. Discord is a popular social chat platform that was home to TRW’s predecessor, Hustler’s University.
Andrew Tate’s new training is made up of several courses, each of which has its own group.
Here’s what the general group looks like once you sign up…

Right after joining you will be prompted to go through a short quiz, after which the program will suggest the best starting route for you.
The biggest problem with the TRW training is its platform. IMO, it’s not a good fit for a course like this. The campuses look scattered, with different people in charge of each one, so they tend to have different setups.
Some campuses, e.g. the copywriting one, have multiple lessons inside of a single subject. This made both general navigation and coming back to a certain lesson much harder for me.
The quality of the training varied a lot within Hustler’s University, with many of the lessons being text only.
Fortunately, this has changed with The Real World, as we can finally see and hear all the instructors. While I wouldn’t say the courses are very comprehensive, all of them seem to do a good job of introducing you to each topic.
Also worth mentioning here: Arno Wingen is the “personal finance professor” within TRW and you’ll see him a lot in the general sections as well.
The CommunityIf there’s one thing TRW truly excels at, it’s the community.
Every day, 1000’s of course students share their wins, ask questions, and help each other out. Whether you like Andrew Tate or not, you have to give it to him for bringing together so many like-minded individuals.
One final issue to be aware of: The Real World requires lots of scrolling!
This especially goes for the bigger / more popular courses, where you often have to scroll back up through tons of content to find what you’re looking for.
Green Lights
Here are a few things to like about The Real World…
Frequent student success stories.Active private community. The training is practical and step-by-step.Several courses in one, covers a lot of ground.Low price to get started.Red Flags
A few things to be wary of regarding The Real World…
So much content it can be overwhelming, and not always easy to find your way around. No refunds. Many big skeletons in Andrew Tate’s closet. No mention on sales page of expenses beyond the price of the training for some courses.Other things you should knowThe TRW sales page rubs me the wrong way by highlighting students making money on day one. But once inside, you’ll see that it’s not a get-rich-quick scheme, and they emphasize putting in the work to get results. You’ll still come across some people in there who make it all sound super easy, but they are few and far between.Among the most common critiques for this course (especially on Reddit) is that there are free courses that offer more knowledge, albeit they don’t cover so many different topics. This may be true, but every free alternative I’ve seen requires you to piece together lessons yourself and the community aspect is usually lacking.Another potential issue with the course: there’s so much in there that it can be overwhelming, and it’s easy to get distracted and jump from one “shiny object” to the next. If you’re brand new to online business, my advice would be to stick to the Freelance and Copywriting Courses to start. Learn the skills taught there and you’re more likely to earn a good income in the coming weeks and months. Once you’ve mastered them, you can leverage those same skills to hit the ground running in the other courses.Overall, even though The Real World bears many similarities to Hustler’s University, I’d say that some campuses are better than they used to be, but navigating the training still feels painful.👇 Subscribe to eBiz Insider 👇Every Tuesday and Friday we email 28,331 people like you with top tips, insights and opportunities to build your online business. Should you join The Real World?
If you’re a big fan of Andrew Tate and eager to learn from him and his buddies, then I’d say The Real World is a worthwhile investment for you. You’ll likely find some good tips, processes and mentors within the training and private community.
If you’re on the fence, trying it for a month only costs $50, which is pretty great value compared to most other courses we’ve reviewed over the years.
However, if Andrew Tate rubs you the wrong way, it’s probably best to avoid The Real World.
If you still want to learn any of the subjects the course teaches, I’d recommend starting with some low-priced courses – eg. from Udemy – to test the waters.

Have You Actually Flat-Out Asked For It?
From the book #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso…
If you’re frustrated because you’re not getting what you want, stop for a second: Have you actually flat-out asked for it? If you haven’t, stop complaining. You can’t expect the world to read your mind. You have to put it out there, and sometimes putting it out there is as simple as just saying, “Hey, can I have that?”
What’s something you can ask for today?
Put yourself out there, see what happens.
Free Money By Reposting Your Content On Medium
Phil McParlane found a new revenue stream by reposting his blog content on Medium.
He only earned $42.87 from doing this in December, but it’s all automated so that’s free money
Fair question about this from a commenter: “Will this hurt your SEO if you have 2 places with identical content?”
Phil replied…
If you set the canonical link inside Medium to point to the original article on 4dayweek it will be fine
I also wait 2 weeks to repost on Medium, “just incase”
Check out Phil’s content on…
His blogMediumMight be worth trying this out for yourself if you’re producing a lot of blog content.
Or you could offer to set it up for other bloggers as a service
Also, Phil lays out some SEO hacks that got his website to 2000 visitors per day in about a year.
He Made $664K From 65 Videos About Lego

Published February 6, 2023 by Niall Doherty
The YouTube channel is called Brick Experiment Channel and it has about 3 million subscribers
I couldn’t find the name of the guy who runs it. Looks like he never shows his face or even speaks in the videos. He writes…
I’m a Finnish middle-aged guy and I run the channel by myself. I have worked for over 10 years as a software engineer. This video creation hobby combines the things I have always liked – physics, engineering and visual arts.
Some of his most popular videos…
Making Lego Car CLIMB Obstacles Creating a BIG Vortex with Lego Motors Making a Drone with Lego Motors and PropellersHe has a post here from November of 2022, detailing the earnings and growth of the channel
I started Brick Experiment Channel in December 2017 and got accepted to YouTube Partner Program in June 2018. Now, October 2022, the total earnings are 664 thousand USD. That is 12500 USD per month. This is the money Google sends to my bank account, from which I pay taxes.
That was from only 65 videos on the channel, the average length of the videos being about 6 minutes. And it’s not like they have super-high production quality.
How to explain his success? There are tons of lego channels on YouTube and the vast majority get almost no views or subscribers.
What is this guy doing differently?
That’s a difficult question. I think some of them just make videos that have been done 50 times already. For example speed builds of common Lego sets. Sometimes the videos are too long, could be easily edited to 1/3 length. Or the entire purpose of the video is unclear. Many Technic videos show only the end result and therefore lack story. Annoying background music or a bad thumbnail may also have an effect. But often you don’t know. I never know which one of my videos will succeed

Example:
“I will grow your Twitter to 10,000 followers in 6 months for $1,000.”

$500+ Per Month From a Mexican Horse Ranch

Published February 6, 2023 by Niall Doherty
Josh Brody with a story posted to Hacker News…
During COVID I was in Mexico. At some point I wanted to go horseback riding. I was researching places to go horseback riding and I was not at all surprised to see I would have to make some calls to book.
Fast-forward a few weeks, I become pretty good friends with the owner at the ranch I went to. We grab tacos one night and he shares his concerns: They’re not doing so well financially and are worried about whether or not they’ll be able to afford feed in a month.
I got involved and we solved that problem and a few more: revamped the website (it looked and felt like it was from 2006), I whipped up a booking/reservation system to get more customers through the door, and exit surveys to make sure everything was perfect (and figure out what went wrong if it wasn’t).
Bookings this month are up 490% from 2018 […] and that’s without a single dollar spent in paid marketing. I answer a few emails every day from prospective riders and make sure everyone’s happy. I get a percentage of each reservation which is cool, but the coolest part is that I get to say I am a co-owner in a Mexican horse ranch.
So he basically helped out a business he liked with their online presence in exchange for a cut of each online booking
Someone commented on Josh’s post…
Mexicos overall internet presence is literally stuck in the early 2000s.
Most business’ official website are a Facebook page.
In a country of 150M people and growing expat presence, there is a TON of opportunities for software businesses to enter the market.
For example: Riviera Maya has no MLS style real estate tracker/listing platform. The entire real estate industry operates on word of mouth, WhatsApp and Facebook messages.
Someone else commented that there are plenty of opportunities like this in the USA as well
Is there a business you like that could use some help along these lines?
Just be sure to apply some riskiest assumption testing to the idea before diving too deep.

$2000/Month in 6 Months Writing About Software

Published February 6, 2023 by Niall Doherty
Mahdi Yusuf writes about his success building Architecture Notes, a freemium newsletter about software architecture.
The inspiration for the project…
There were few explainers available when I first started programming software; instead, most information could be found in books or on obscure message boards.
The concept was to explain things and couple them with detailed infographics that illustrate them.
Mahdi hit a bit of a home run right out of the gate. His first post was about the engineering behind Datasette, “a tool for exploring and publishing data.” He interviewed the creator, created some infographics and wrote up an in-depth explainer
That post was shared on Hacker News (here) and did very well, gaining Mahdi ~1000 email subs.
Mahdi monetizes his newsletter with a premium membership. That costs $89/year and gives subscribers access to more content. He has about 25,000 subscribers total, and probably less than 40 are premium.
I reckon there’s a good blueprint here for any complex topic you might be familiar with. Something like
You don’t necessarily need to be an expert to do any of that.
But even though $2000/month after six months is impressive, expect it to be “tons of work” as it has been for Mahdi.

I’m on a mission to accurately rate and review all the best online business courses. My team and I are spending many hours investigating these courses and getting feedback from real students.
All that to say: we know a thing or two about such courses and making money online.
The Best Digital Products Course? We’re on a mission to find the best digital products course, based on feedback from real students combined with our own extensive research.
Unfortunately, 7 Day Ebook doesn’t quite make the top of our list…

How does 7 Day Ebook help you make money?
Jim Edwards’ training aims to help you write your own ebook and publish it on a platform like Amazon, ideally in 7 days or less.
You would then make money from each copy sold.
The official word…
Learn more about digital productsWho is 7 Day Ebook for? We’ll teach you how to write and publish your own OUTRAGEOUSLY Profitable eBook with less than a week’s work – even if you feel like you can’t write a complete sentence, can’t type to save your life, and still have nightmares about finishing term papers!
7 Day Ebook sells itself as a platform for people from all walks of life, even those that don’t consider themselves good writers.
A headline on the sales page says it all…
How to write, publish, & sell your own OUTRAGEOUSLY Profitable EBook in as little as 7 days – even if you can’t write, can’t type, and failed high school English class!
This oversells it a bit, IMO. Sure, you don’t need to be a great writer to create a profitable ebook. But that combined with some experience creating and marketing digital products certainly helps!
70+ ways how to make money online (including easy options)Does Jim Edwards have a good reputation? For the most part, yes.
During my research on Jim Edwards and 7 Day Ebook, I found no negative comments or reviews regarding the training or its creator.
Jim has been writing ebooks for nearly 20 years, and has dozens of titles published on Amazon. He shares his knowledge with others, teaching people how to write ebooks in a short amount of time.
He’s probably best known for his book Copywriting Secrets, which has 100’s of positive reviews on Amazon.
The only thing that bothers me about Jim is the marketing for 7 Day Ebook. The core offering is a typical book that could be sold directly on Amazon, but it seems Jim has wrapped it in a shiny package and added a bunch bonuses and upsells to maximize profits.
(In the 2 weeks after purchasing 7 Day Ebook, I also received a total of 22 emails from Jim, many of them marketing emails )
If Jim had sold this product as the book + video course for a straight-up price rather than making me wade through his lengthy sales funnel and relentless marketing emails, I’d be a much happier customer.
Below is a video from Jim Edwards’ YouTube channel so you can get a feel for his style…
Are 7 Day Ebook students getting results? It’s hard to tell.
You can find plenty of testimonials on the official sales pages for 7 Day Ebook and its upsells, but most of these seem to give empty platitudes.

I’ve yet to find a success story for 7DE that speaks to the results achieved from having followed the training. Which is surprising, given that the training is so highly-praised.
How much does 7 Day Ebook cost?Lifetime access to 7 Day Ebook will cost you $27.
That gives you the main 345-page ebook plus some notable bonuses (listed below).
However, I was presented with three upsells after spending the $27…
7 Day eBook V3.0 Video Home Study Course – $97Make Your Book An Amazon Best Seller In 72 Hours – $297The 7 Day Ebook Challenge – $197You can buy these even after entering the core training, but they seem to be more expensive then. Last time I checked, the first upsell cost $147 if you opt to buy it later.
Keep in mind that you may want to put even more money aside for hiring people for book editing and formatting, among other things. Jim mentions the word “hire” in 7 Day Ebook over 30 times!
7 Day Ebook Discount?I’ve searched high and low for a discount or coupon code but have yet to find mention of one anywhere, and there’s no place to enter a discount code on the 7 Day Ebook checkout.
Sorry guys: it’s full-price or nothing.
Refund PolicyThe sales page for 7 Day Ebook specifies a 30-day, no questions asked money-back guarantee…
Your satisfaction is assured through our no risk, you-can’t-lose, 100%, no-questions-asked, iron-clad money-back guarantee.
If for any reason, you aren’t thrilled and satisfied with your purchase, contact us within 30 Days and we’ll refund 100% of your purchase price.
I haven’t seen any complaints regarding getting a refund on this purchase, so you can rest easy with this guarantee.
How is 7 Day Ebook structured?Well, it looks like this once you’re logged in…

The main offering isn’t a course in the true sense of the word, but a single PDF file that’s 345 pages long.
I found the training decent for beginners to online writing, but not much more than that. It will likely help you come up with content for your ebook, as well as teach you how to publish it, but certain aspects are lacking.
Most notably, there aren’t many actionable steps on how to efficiently promote your ebook to make more sales. (This is a big problem, IMO.)
I also found the training to be a bit too drawn out, but I liked the FAQ sections towards the end.
There is still a lot of content here, especially for the price tag. The training even comes with several bonus PDF files…
Offers and Pot Sweeteners (85 pages)A guide on adding bonuses to your ebook to make your offer more tempting.
How To Make Money With Your Own Book (99 pages)
Shows how you can sell your ebook, promote it, or use it to build a business without a publisher.
9 Ways To Have Your Book Done By Next Friday (81 pages)
Shows how to use your existing material for an ebook, conducting interviews with experts, hiring ghostwriters, etc.
How To Take Every Major Credit Card On the Planet (6 pages)
A short guide on recommended payment processors for selling ebooks
7 Day Ebook also has a private Facebook community with many members, but the activity there seems lacking. I would have expected much more than ~50 posts per month from nearly 30,000 people!

A few things to like about 7 Day Ebook…
Low price to access the core training.30-day “no questions asked” 100% money-back guarantee.White hat throughoutDecent training even if you don’t buy the upsells.A solid amount of bonuses.Red Flags
A few things to be wary of regarding 7 Day Ebook…
Lack of significant success stories from students.Lacking some advanced info (eg. promoting an ebook).Looks like the core training hasn’t been updated since 2020.Lots of expensive upsells.Questionable marketing tactics (eg. way too many upsells).Other things you should know7 Day Ebook offers a lot for the basic price, but there are many upsells and an underlying focus on making money in the shortest amount of time. Overall, the marketing of the product just rubs me the wrong way.The copyright at the very beginning of 7 Day Ebook mentions the year 2020, leading me to believe that’s when the core training was last updated. While the majority of content should be evergreen here, I’d like to see it more up-to-date.👇 Subscribe to eBiz Insider 👇Every Tuesday and Friday we email 28,331 people like you with top tips, insights and opportunities to build your online business. Should you buy Jim’s 7 Day Ebook?
If you’re entirely new to writing online and are looking to publish an ebook for the first time, chances are you’ll find a lot of useful tips in Jim Edwards’ training.
However, I wouldn’t say it’s as good for those with prior experience in this field as I didn’t see much info on promoting an ebook.
Given the low price, I consider this to be a worthwhile investment for most people, so long as you can overlook the aggressive marketing tactics.
I really wish Jim had packaged the product simply as the ebook + video course, sold it for about $150, and dropped all the upsells and other marketing tactics.

Faceless YouTube Channel, 120K Subscribers

Published February 2, 2023 by Niall Doherty
It’s a channel about finance called Chris Invests.
There are 187 videos on the channel, most lasting 8-10 minutes. The first video was posted April 2019, so less than 1 video per week on average.
The most popular videos
Why the First $100,000 is so Hard (And the Next is Easy)…
Average Net Worth By Age (Not What You’d Think)…
Reasons Why Most People Are Broke (Must Watch)…
Best I can tell, Chris has never shown his face on the channel, instead relying on simple animations – probably made with a software like Animaker – to get his points across.
Unclear how much money the channel makes. I’ve watched a few of the videos and haven’t seen any sponsors, so YouTube ad revenue seems to be the main thing.
According to Social Blade, the channel could be making anything from $497 to $7,900 per month in ad revenue. Given the content, I expect the real number to be closer to the top end of that range
Anyway, wanted to share this as an example of a successful YouTube channel where the creator doesn’t show their face.

9 ChatGPT Prompts To Skyrocket Your SEO
The guys from Authority Hacker have a detailed video about this
It’s clear that ChatGPT does a lot to level the playing field when it comes to SEO, but the video also addresses some of the limitations.
Btw, my favorite use of ChatGPT for SEO is to simplify content.
For example, ask it to explain SEO and I get back something like this…
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, it is the practice of optimizing a website to improve its ranking on search engine results pages (SERPs) and increase its visibility to potential users. The goal of SEO is to make a website more attractive to search engines, to help it appear at the top of the search engine results for relevant keywords and phrases, and to drive more traffic to the site.
Then I ask it to explain SEO to me like I’m 5 years old and I get back…
Okay, imagine you want to find a toy in a big toy store. You ask the storekeeper where it is and they help you find it. That’s like a search engine helping you find what you’re looking for on the internet. SEO is like making sure the toy store knows exactly where your toy is and making it easy for the storekeeper to show it to you. That way, when someone is looking for a toy like yours, the storekeeper can easily show it to them and they’ll be able to find it easily. So SEO is about making your website easy for search engines to understand and easy for people to find.
You can use this to create a first draft of new content, or to understand something better yourself.
