I'm always happy to give free e-copies of my books in exchange for honest reviews. Message me!

According to heart and soul, I am a writer. In fact, writing is the only work that has ever mattered to me. To confirm this, I've been a warehouse clerk, secretary, retail clerk, substitute teacher, bookkeeper, government bureaucrat. Motion picture story analyst, low budget TV producer. Scientific research internship director. Earthquake consultant. Professor. Disaster scientist.

I am a seasoned yet new writer, thanks to a 20-year hiatus. In 1992, Bantam-Doubleday-Dell published my hardcover novel, the psychological thriller Was It A Rat I Saw. Somehow 20 years elapsed and in 2012 I published the literary fiction Scar Jewelry . Since then I'v

I feel much pressure (as well as joy) when readers ask me versions of 'when will the next one be out?' so I've decided not to promote more of the books until the whole thing is done. Thus you may not be aware that the series now has four installments complete and available, two novels and two novellas:
Nica of Los Angeles
Nica of the New Yorks
Boredom Fighter
Book Defender (includes my favorite-written-by-me twist ever)

I'm currently writing the last of the novellas ("Death Defy-er") and then, only one more novel to go!(less)

In my desperate futile efforts to find out what happened to him, I started wishing I could connect with, somehow contact him. That was the genesis of "DDsE", a YA paranormal horror romance which I'm writing now.

My most recent finished/published book is "Nica of the New Yorks", book 2 in the FRAMES quartet. The notion of the Frames arose when I was walking circles at a high school track, and wondered what the hurdles might think about the people jumping them. I passed the gym and it erupted in cheers during a basketball game. I recalled the saying, "if these walls could talk" and I wondered what the gym walls would say.(less)

Pssst. I’ve got a new hangout.

I’ve been writing over on Substack. I am still trying to sort out What Goes on Blog versus What Goes on Substack. So far I can only confirm that it is ungood to double post in both places.

I expect I’ll still keep posting here. However, at the moment I’m preferring Substack. I seem to be interacting with more humans over there. (Over the last few years, most of the follows and comments here have be

The Haunted Bookshop by Christopher Morley
