AUSSIE 'MONTAUK MONSTER?'

A man taking a morning walk on an Australian beach stumbled across a creature that he says may be from out of this world.

Instagram user Alex Tan posted the video of the dead animal or possible "extraterrestrial" on Tuesday with hundreds of people commenting on what they thought it was.

"This is something you see when people claim they've found aliens," he said in the clip. "How weird is that?"

Tan said it looked like a "dehaired possum" but looked different from anything he had ever encountered.

People in the comments said it could be a dead rat or a dead carcass of a kangaroo.

"Maybe a mini Chupacabra," one user commented.

TALL, DARK, HUMAN-LIKE WINGED BEING Seen in Downtown Chicago Building

Lon Strickler of Phantoms & Monsters recently received the following report from a man claiming to be a former security guard at a building in downtown Chicago.

"Hello, sir. In the spring of 2021, I was working as a security employee in downtown Chicago, Illinois. On this specific night at around 1:30 a.m., I had completed my usual rounds and then settled into the monitor room to check the footage.

After about an hour, I took a walk to start my next round. Sitting all night can get tiresome and I needed to stretch my legs occasionally. I would start at the ground floor, then up the stairwells, checking all crucial points. I'd check the entrances, and exits, check to see if all the offices were locked up and then I would head back down to the ground floor.

When I got back to the third floor, the elevator stopped. When the doors opened, no one was there. I noticed the corridor lights flickering and it felt a little creepy when that happened. I got back into the elevator and went to the ground floor. When I reached the ground floor, and after the elevator door opened, I made my way to the security room to watch the monitors." DO PLANTS 'SCREAM' & COMMUNICATE?

It seems like Roald Dahl may have been onto something after all: if you hurt a plant, it screams.

Well, sort of. Not in the same way you or I might scream. Rather, they emit popping or clicking noises in ultrasonic frequencies outside the range of human hearing that increase when the plant becomes stressed.

This, according to a study published in 2023, could be one of how plants communicate their distress to the world around them.

"Even in a quiet field, there are actually sounds that we don't hear, and those sounds carry information. Some animals can hear these sounds, so there is the possibility that a lot of acoustic interaction is occurring," said evolutionary biologist Lilach Hadany of Tel Aviv University in Israel. LUCY'S POWERS: Bruja or Curandera? Witch or Healer?

A reader, Terry, forwarded an archive of fascinating stories written by him over the years. The following post details a few particulars regarding his Great-grandmother Lucy:

"When Great-grandmother Lucy was around 14 years old, bandits raided her family's small plantation in Mexico. They slaughtered everyone except her and a sister. They were separated and she was taken to their boss's hideout deep in the desert. The leader was an old woman who ran the bandits. The mysterious old woman needed a student to pass her knowledge. Why HER? We may never know.

For years she was trained in the ancient and dark arts of the supernatural until the day the old woman died. Lucy was 18 and left for Texas with the male leader of the bandits (the old woman's son). They made their home in the west and northwest regions of Texas. There she gave birth to her first son who is my Grandfather. There, she practiced and improved her skills."

THE SWORD FROM THE BEYOND

"My Great-grandmother was given a sword by the old witch that was said to belong to a fallen god or something close to it. It was extremely deadly and was wrapped in a special cloth to hide its aura. Witches and the supernatural sought after its power for countless years. She was 18 and left for Texas with the male leader of the bandits. The sword was one of many relics she brought with her to Texas. The sword was like a spirit amplifier and drained a large part of your life force every time it was used. So one must already have unusually high spirit energy to use it. It could harm the intangible and unseen. It was used to cut a tornado in half and to save several homes. But it caused a bad drought that year as she predicted.

The use of the sword drew an evil presence to the town. One night, the house was attacked by a fire-like entity. The entity's light shined on the entire neighborhood like the light of the morning dawn. Around twenty people or so saw this entity. It smelled like sulfur and was circling the house that she lived in. Then, it jumped onto the roof and called her name. She came out and drew out the sword from its cloth. It demanded the sword and she refused. It charged her. She quickly swung the sword and cut it in half. Its body disappeared into the wind as ash. She became very weak and asked for the oldest grandchild, my Uncle. The sword was shattered and its shards hidden through Texas and the nearby states."

BATTLE IN THE GRAVEYARD

"It was the middle of the night and Lucy was marching around in the house. She was very angry and then decided to leave, mentioning to someone she left. She said that she was going to the graveyard and not to follow. My Uncle, my Mother, and a couple of my Aunts waited several hours, then decided to follow her anyway. My Uncle had the only vehicle and drove to the cemetery which was several miles away.

They parked the truck and crawled through the cemetery. Sounds of women yelling were echoing through it. The gang followed the source of the noise. There were two groups of women. One of the women, which was Lucy, and a local witch versus a large group of women in black. Great-grandmother and the leader of the women were yelling in foreign tongues. Suddenly, the woman leader coughed up a long fork tongue and started chanting a spell. Lucy quickly raised her hand and gestured a breaking motion. The woman's neck broke and fell dead. One of the stunned observers made a sound. Lucy turned and looked at them. They all got up and ran to the truck and sped off. The pedal was hitting the floor. They were almost home when they saw a blue lightning-type flash speed pass them. “What the hell was that?” crossed their minds. They made it home to find Lucy was waiting for them. She scolded them for following her to the confrontation. They never did that again. No one knows how many battles she had with other witches and practitioners. It was widely known that Lucy had many rare artifacts that were deeply desired by negative forces. They constantly tried to obtain them when an opportunity arose."

THE GIANT BIRD

"It was a time when Great-grandmother was very ill and could not travel. So, her Grandchildren drove her wherever she needed to go. One day during one of these trips they experienced a strange attack.

It was in broad daylight when someone noticed a huge bird in the distance. That was one big vulture they thought until they got much closer. Suddenly, it spread its wings, which spanned the width of the road, and the body was as tall as a man. It seemed to them that they encountered a “Thunderbird,” but it wasn't because the bird was wearing jewelry. They stopped the car, along with other vehicles on the other side of the bird. They approached their car and started to talk in Spanish. The words “Where are the books?” and “Give me the books!” were heard. Other people who were coming to see why the traffic was being held up saw and heard the bird. They all fled in fear, including the local police. This distraction gave my Aunt time to grab one of Great Grandmother's mystery bottles and throw it at the bird. It splashed on the bird's face and it started to smoke. The bird started to scream and flew away."

THE PUPPET MASTER?

"Before the time that Lucy's health took a turn for the worst, she had many contacts in scientific and medical communities through "Dr. Pearl" and his employers. Representatives from several pharmaceutical companies were known to visit Lucy at home. What was discussed and/or exchanged was never known. There were many accounts of Lucy healing people with infections and maladies that baffled the local doctors. Yet, she dealt with Dr Pearl in his eugenic experiments that killed dozens, if not hundreds, of women and children. It was strange that the research Dr. Pearl had accumulated vanished after his murder. Lucy kept quiet about her dealings with him. She once stated, “Everyone who is alive today and tomorrow owes me their lives.” Was she a benefit to the human race or her test subjects? Did she actually influence the world in some manner?"

LUCY'S POWERS

"Lucy had several different abilities that were seen or known to the family and Dr. Pearl. Telekinesis was the backbone of her natural skills. She could teleport small items through walls and land them in front of her. She uses it to fight and kill her enemies. The flight was the second most used skill. She would use this to travel from place to place without anybody noticing. She couldn't drive or have someone drive her to locations quickly when called on. Some of the family witnessed her in action.

My Great-grandfather was hardly home and came back from time to time to give her money. He gave her large sums of money that would last months or even years at a time. He was a well-skilled bandit and traveled all over the U.S. and Mexico. He became extremely wealthy. The law finally caught up to him and he was killed. That is what she said. Yet, only a small portion of the money was ever recovered. He hid it very well and he always “disposed” of his gang after every heist.

Lucy raised Grandfather by herself. I don't know if she had a great hatred for his father or was just too busy, but she never taught her son to read or write. Yet, my Grandfather was a hard worker and never gave up throughout his life. When he was a young man, he fell in love with a half Irish/Apache woman at a flea market. It was love at first sight. She was not happy at all. She didn't want that bloodline to mingle with hers, but he still married her.

Lucy wanted to punish them both and took years to plan. It was never known how it was done, but it worked. My grandmother became paralyzed and couldn't talk or move very well. She stayed like this till her death. The last moment before she died, she whispered to Lucy “I forgive you.” Right after that, Lucy fell ill with crippling pain. Her health too began to fail. Decades later, she was only able to move her eyes. I witnessed this myself before she died."

'WEREWOLF' SIGHTING REPORTS at Greene Valley Forest Preserve in Naperville, Illinois

According to a witness, there were a series of sightings of what people referred to as a 'werewolf' around the Naperville, Illinois area around 2006.

I received the following account:

"Hi. I was talking to one of my really good friends a while back in 2006, and we just somehow ended up talking about weird stuff we've seen in our lives. He brings up the story of how one of our friends, and her friends had a scary encounter.

They were walking through a neighborhood at night and just ended up at a park outside of the Greene Valley Forest Preserve in Naperville, Illinois, which is a very big forest. So they're walking towards the park when they see what they thought was a tall person on top of the swing set. So they stop and wonder who would be standing on a swingset at 10 pm at night alone. So they get closer, and the creature turns around. It was a hairy creature with bright orange eyes, standing upright at around 8 feet tall. It looked at them for about 5 seconds, then it jumped straight down without making a sound, sprinting away. They got scared and ran back to their car and went home.

As soon as one of them got home she was sitting in her house when banging started on her house. She then called up one of her friends (supposing it was him) telling him to stop, he told her it really wasn't him. He said he was home and the same thing was happening with him. They never saw the creature again. There have been a few more sightings by people who say they'll wake up early in the morning around 6 am and will see the creature watching them when they're outside. Everyone who describes it describes it as a "werewolf."

So here's my story. I and a couple of my friends went to the same forest preserve at night just to hang out and have a couple of beers. We've heard about the story a couple times but thought they were just pulling our chain. But we were there for like about an hour, and we finished our beers, and decided to leave. Well, my friend went to relieve himself near the edge of the woods, and we said we'd wait for him. So he finishes up, walks back to us, and we're just walking back to my car in normal conversation, and he's not talking. We just asked him, "Why are so quiet?' He just told us to hurry up and move fast to the car. I said, "What's going on?"

So we get to our car and he seems to be fine, and all is forgotten. I saw him every day after that and everything was normal. Then a while later were sitting in a restaurant eating, and I brought up the park and told him we should all go do that again. And then he flat-out told me when he was doing his business on the edge of the woods, he saw two glowing orange eyes looking at him from about 20 feet away and getting closer. He didn't see the creature, due to the fact it was almost pitch black, but he saw the eyes getting closer, and he got scared. He told me he didn't tell us that night, because he didn't want to scare us, and he thought we wouldn't believe him.

After these many years, I wonder how many other people saw this creature?" H

BIGFOOT Frightens Northampton County, Pennsylvania Boy in Garden

A Northampton County, Pennsylvania boy was in the family garden picking vegetables when he noticed a dark reddish brown face staring back at him. When it smiled at him, he took off frightened.

I received the following account:

"It was in the late 1970s, in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, not far from the Lehigh River. It was early summer, around noon. Bright sunny day. The area where the sighting occurred is now developed but used to be brushland and sparse forest.

Growing up, my family grew a large vegetable garden to help feed our family. It was at the end of a large backyard about 10 feet from the brushline. Groundhogs raided it for food, so it had a small fence around it which didn't stop them honestly.

One day, when I was a kid, my Mom sent me out to the garden alone to fetch vegetables for lunch. I started picking when I noticed a face staring at me from the brush about chest-high to an 8-year-old. The face was dark reddish brown, covered in hair, a large forehead, a short, flat, and wide nose with black eyes. It was as large as my torso and human-like but more animal than human.

Not sure what I was seeing, I walked up to it stayed inside the fence, and stared at it. It stared back without moving. After a while with the face staying motionless, I remembered what my Mom wanted me to do and got back to picking vegetables. But I noticed the face was still watching me as I was in the garden.

When I finished picking vegetables, I walked back to the face and stared at it. The face stared back unmoving. At this point, I had convinced myself that the face must be an illusion of some sort, and I was fooling myself. What else could it be?

So I smiled in relief. And the face smiled back. Only when it smiled, it had long pointed canine teeth.

I did what any kid would do. I dropped my basket of vegetables and ran screaming at the top of my lungs back inside the house. My Mom and brother went outside to the garden (Dad was running errands), and the face was gone. It was a long time before I would go to the garden alone again.

I've never seen Bigfoot again and I live in a major city now, but I want to go back to the forest to find it again someday." N

4-FOOT-TALL 'VANISHING' HUMANOID Encountered in Mishawaka, Indiana

A Mishawaka, Indiana eyewitness described their sighting of a humanoid-shaped being (containing yellow blobs) that was crouched in the road (Dragoon Trail). Then it vanished.

I received the following report on Wednesday, April 10, 2024:

"Hi, Lon. I've been meaning to contact you for a while now and I love the website.

Back in October of 2023, I would drive down the same road called Dragoon Trail in Mishawaka, Indiana. I did this for about a month at the time as my friend lived down the road and he was having car troubles back then. Later in the month, he would come to work at the same job as me, so I would have to drive the complete length of the road at night once we clocked out. One of those nights after dropping him off, I was going down a hilly wooded section of Dragoon Trail when I noticed something in the road for a split second.

At first, I thought it was a street sign reflecting my lights because of how bright it was, but this thing was moving and in the dead middle of the road. The object was about 4 feet tall and vaguely humanoid-shaped, but mostly a yellow blob of spheres. The first second I saw it, the thing was “crouched” or compressed. The next second it looked erect or more elongated. Then it just vanished in the middle of my headlights.

I’ve been a paranormal enthusiast my whole life but still consider myself quite skeptical. Would love to hear what you think and if you’ve heard of anything like this?" E

NOTE: Since there have been a few new revelations of the supernatural aspects of the winged humanoid reported from the Chicagoland region, I believe that there is a slight possibility that this sighting may be related. Exclusive 'MOTHMAN' EYEWITNESS REPORTS Received By Me

Since the winged humanoid reports from the Chicagoland region are picking up again, I thought I would review a few exclusive Mothman reports I've received over the years.

Mothman is a legendary creature reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area of West Virginia from November 15, 1966, to December 15, 1967. The first newspaper report was published in the Point Pleasant Register dated November 16, 1966, entitled "Couples See Man-Sized Bird...Creature...Something." Mothman was said to be related to a wide array of supernatural events in the area, including the deadly collapse of the Silver Bridge on December 15, 1967. Since that time, the Mothman has been called a harbinger of death and destruction and has been reportedly seen worldwide.

Many of the reports that I have received over the years are concentrated in the Ohio River Valley, from southeast Ohio, through West Virginia and into northern Kentucky; but there are other sightings worldwide.

Mothman Sighting Near Cincinnati, Ohio

I received an email about incidents experienced by the witness and her friend. The location was near Cincinnati, Ohio:

“It was about 8:00 pm and I was driving home after dropping a friend off at her house. I came to an intersection, a red light, and stopped. Nothing out of the normal - just a regular night. The roads were fairly deserted. While waiting for the light to change I saw something that looked like the back end of a deer as it quickly crossed the street. I didn't think much of it except for the fact that when I drive through there I have to be careful because deer apparently like to jump in front of cars. That stretch of road is only a couple hundred feet posted at 40 mph. I slowed to about 30-35 mph to watch and look at the deer.

When I looked to see if the deer was still there I witnessed something quite a bit different. This massive thing was standing back a ways but it was clearly visible. The yard it was standing in has a huge white shed with a light attached to the front though; this didn't help because it cast a big shadow. The figure stood on the ground but its height reached to about the top of the doors to the shed. It had two curved like masses coming from the sides. But the most obvious feature were the deep red, glowing eyes coming from the center of the black mass. It was something I couldn't stop looking at. I continued to drive but all the way home I felt I was being followed.” L.

I later received the following from the previous witness:

“I'd like to share an experience my friend and I have unfortunately been dragged into. At approximately 10:30 PM tonight, I received an instant message from my friend about a rather disturbing encounter she had. She had reported she saw the Mothman. I sent her several messages back, asking if she was alright, if she was there, etc. She eventually sent me a text message with a picture that she drew of the creature attached. By this point, I was literally getting sick and trembling due to anxiety and fright. We began talking about it and I noticed a tapping at my window; a very light kind of sound. My dogs both jerked their heads upward and stared at the window for a long time. Being in the state I was in, I refused to look.

For awhile, the tapping stopped...she and I continued to discuss the matter at hand. Suddenly, the tapping began again, but this time the dogs ignored it and so did I. About four or five minutes later, I fought the urge to stare at my computer monitor and looked at my window. My blinds were closed, but I could faintly see something red and glowing, like taillights that had somehow made their way into the neighbor's backyard. I quickly looked away, not wanting to see it anymore. I looked again a couple minutes later, unnerved to see the red glow was still there. Again, I looked away and continued discussing this with my friend. Finally, I turned my head one final time and saw that the glow no longer remained.

As I'm typing this email, I'm really worried, as the tapping has begun again and I'm really too afraid to move from this position. Above this, I've included my friend's side of the story, and, should you post this, we would certainly appreciate if you could put them both into one piece. We'd discussed calling the police, but she didn't want to make a big deal about it. Her parents brushed it off and I have yet to tell anyone in my house about this.

I'm not sure what this was; a frightening delusion or a real situation, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to face the facts and find out. Thanks for your time. - A. (This was sent to the Mothman Museum as well)”

NOTE: At the time, I didn’t know the specific location. I received an update soon after.

Update: Mothman Sighting - Middletown, Ohio

I received an update on this sighting including another related encounter. This creature (or creatures) may continue to visit the area:

“Well, both my friend and I live closer to Middletown, OH. There was another encounter I had shortly after I had sent the email and I kept forgetting that I hadn't sent it. I had walked out of my room to wash my face, try and calm myself down, etc. and my brother's room is directly across the hall from mine. I looked straight ahead and it was looking right through the window of his room (that's the picture I had sent). I stared at it for awhile, feeling kind of cold and then feeling really scared and I finally pulled my eyes away and went about my business. When I came out of my bathroom, I didn't look in the direction of his room. My friend reported that what she saw had more oblique-shaped eyes and looked kind of 'angry' (I wasn't too sure about that hypothesis), while mine had large, round eyes and seemed kind of curious or something.

Sorry I didn't include that in the original message; like I said, this happened after I sent the email and I keep assuming I had included it when I hadn't. Other than the weird sightings, there wasn't any strange activity I can recall.” J

Mothman Comes Home

I received the following email from a woman in Ohio who had concerns about a sighting she and a girlfriend had six months before the report. She stated that she substituted their names for anonymity. 'Megan' affirms that all other details...location, date, and description of the incident are factual:

“Sir - my name is Megan. I am forwarding a summary of an experience that I and a friend had in August 2010. My friend and associate Kyra and I traveled from Columbus, Ohio to Ravenswood, West Virginia on business. While we were there, I wanted to make a side trip to Gallipolis, Ohio in order to visit relatives I had not seen for quite awhile.

After our meeting and presentation, we drove onto Ohio Rt. 7 and traveled south along the Ohio River towards Gallipolis. We had a nice, though brief, visit with my relatives. Around 6PM, we left their home and drove a few miles north on Rt. 7 to check-in to a hotel near the local airport.

Around 7:30PM, we decided to get dinner and found a quiet restaurant so we could eat and work. After we finished, Kyra needed to go to the store and pick up a few items that she forgot to pack. We headed to a Wal-Mart that was nearby the restaurant.

After we finished shopping, we were walking to the car when I noticed a woman running through the parking lot. When she reached her car, she looked back in the direction of the store then hurriedly got into the car. I quickly looked in the same direction and saw what looked like a large bird flying above the roof of the store. It was difficult to see but when it swooped downward the parking lot lights would shine off of it. It looked like it was either oily or had shiny leather-like skin. Whatever it was, it had a wide wing span. I would guess it reached 8-10 foot across. It circled above the store for about a minute then just disappeared.

We were both somewhat shocked at what we witnessed but figured that it was just a huge bird. Since it was dark, I figured we had misjudged what it really was.

We drove back to the hotel and decided to call it a night so we could get an early start on the drive home in the morning. I got ready for bed but thought I’d watch some television first. By this time it was around 10PM or so.

I must have dozed off fairly quickly because the next thing I remember is frantic knocking on my door. I stumbled out of bed and checked who it was. It was Kyra and she was obviously upset. She rushed into my room and said “it’s here!” “What are you talking about?”- a little bit perturbed that she woke me up. She said that she was laying on the bed reading when she heard something in the hallway. She got out of bed, walked to the door and listened to what she thought was ‘scratching’ sounds. After a few minutes the sounds stopped, so she went back to bed. Not long after she lay down she heard more scratching sounds but, from outside her window. Again she got up and peeked through the curtains. This time, something looked back at her.

Our rooms were on the second floor in the back section of the hotel and both looked out onto a small parking lot and a large field beyond that. She could see, what she described as, a ‘bald ugly man with wings’ who was looking directly at her with 'large bulging eyes that lit up bright red.' It was there for only a few seconds. It then spread it’s wings while running at the same time towards the end of the parking lot and lifted off the ground like a bird.

“You’re kidding, right?” I muttered to her. “Meg, I swear to God - that thing is out there and it knows we saw it!” I knew the only way I was going to get some sleep was to allow Kyra to stay in my room. The next morning we woke early, checked out and drove back to Columbus.

Kyra didn’t mention the incident from the previous night during the ride. In fact, she has still never said anything else about it. We continue to be good friends and have a very good working relationship.

But - I got curious. I had never heard about the Mothman or any of the tales associated with it. I grew up in Texas and had only lived in Ohio for a few years. I moved into my Mom’s house after she had passed away. Her relatives lived throughout Ohio but I had never been told any of the stories.

This is the reason I am writing to you. We were near Point Pleasant, WV when we had this encounter. Do you think that it is possible that this was a Mothman? I read some of your posts recently and I’m starting to believe that Kyra actually saw something supernatural.

In light of the prophecies of danger that this thing is suppose to warn people about, Kyra has had some bad luck and tragedy since that day. Her husband suddenly left her, she had a fire in her house and she severely injured her leg in a fall. Could this be connected?

I personally don’t believe in predictions, either good or bad. But I will admit that these have been strange times since we witnessed ‘whatever.’”

NOTE: I responded to 'Megan's' concerns with a lot more uncertainty...we really don't have many answers for the Mothman. Is it natural, supernatural, or non-terrestrial? Some people think it may be an escape experiment the government performs. What would you tell 'Megan?'

Mothman Sighting - Mertztown, PA

Mertztown is in Longswamp Township in eastern Berks County, Pennsylvania. The witness wrote me after reading one of my previous reports:

“Good morning, as I sit reading this article, it amazes me that no one caught one of these things yet. I understand that if something with a 25-30 ft wingspan flies past you, you're not going to grab your camera as a first instinct.

My son and I saw this monster thing last summer in Mertztown, PA. We were parked on the side of the road in a heavily wooded area when this thing casually glided up the road. It looked big enough to carry a full grown man away with no effort. When the wing flew over the hood of my car, we instantly ducked down. This thing had a round human sized head with no beak (hence the term man-bird), and huge bat-like wings. Now I would never tell this story if it wasn't for my 16-yr-old son sitting in the backseat who also witnessed it on that summer day. I'm a pretty capable guy, not too many things can shake me, but this thing scared the hell out of me. Here is what I saw:

The body was 5-6 ft in length easy, wing span was 25-30 ft easy, no feathers, bat like skin, jet black, and a 4-5 ft skinny (rat or dragon) like tail that stuck straight out. This thing didn't fly like a bird, it glided about 10 ft off the ground at a VERY slow speed. After 50-75 ft of gliding, it took one huge flap of the wings, never changing elevation, and glided up the road till it disappeared into the woods. I'm convinced this thing lives underground, probably near some sort of hot spring because it has no feathers.

Well that's my story. Feel free to reply with any questions, that 45 second event will forever be etched into memory. I say we find it and catch it, I would love to see it again up close.” B

Unknown Encounter - New Miami, Ohio

New Miami is in central Butler County in the southwestern part of Ohio. The witness wrote me after searching the internet for answers:

“On Monday May 9th, 2011 around 5:45am, I was on my way to work headed north bound in to the village of New Miami on Seven Mile Avenue. I left the traffic light at the southern most edge of town in to a dark stretch of road when a large flying creature swooped in over my car and snatched up a small animal in the road ahead of me at the edge of my head lights. As a construction worker, I feel I can judge the size of objects fairly well. This creature had a wing span of at least 12 feet and was jet black with a human figure. It completely blocked the view out of my windshield and then some and moved at a very high rate of speed. I was traveling between 35-40MPH. It had to have been traveling at around 70-80MPH. Like I stated before is swooped down grabbed the animal and was gone over the trees very quickly. I've researched large predator birds and raptors indigenous to Ohio and there are none that fit the description of what I saw. If you have any other questions about my experience please feel free to email me back." T

My Frightening Encounters With the White-Clad 'UMBRELLA MAN!'

A teen is at home alone when a sinister-looking being dressed in white with a white umbrella suddenly appears before him. After almost a decade, he still fears that the 'Umbrella Man' will return.

I received the following account:

"The story I'm about to tell you was a truly terrifying experience that has since scarred me. When I was 14 years old, (23 now) I was having a very typical day. I just got home from a long day at school and was relieved to be able to relax and play some video games. I had set my backpack in the dining room and walked through the kitchen to the computer room. At this time I was home alone with both parents working and siblings out with friends.

I sit down and begin to log in when I feel a sudden chill in the air. It made my hair stand on end so I looked around suspiciously but found nothing. After a few minutes of surfing the web, I get on Facebook when suddenly the computer chair I'm in is forcefully pulled back and then tilted back while I'm still in it. At the angle I was at I should have toppled over but something was holding me there in place. From the force, my head whips back and I'm looking up when I see a shadow looking down at me. At that very second I screamed and then the chair fell forward. With my heart racing so fast I thought it would burst. I look back to a doorway and see something I will never forget. A tall man standing at about 6'4 maybe 6'6 staring at me. He was wearing an all-white suit with a white top hat, and white umbrella. He was leaning on the umbrella like a cane in a suave kind of pose. The worst part was that no matter how hard I looked I couldn't see his face. The only feature I could see was his long blonde greasy hair and this inhuman stretched smile. It reminded me of the grin of the monster on the Disturbed album covers.

After what seems like hours he turns, unfurls the umbrella giving me one final look, and walks upstairs. Immediately I called my dad and told him what happened. I know it was paranormal and not a robber because of the sinister feeling I had, which I had felt before. My dad told me to pray and said he would head straight home to check on me. After the day had passed and night arrived I was still startled. I don't remember when I fell asleep but I finally drifted off.

Around 3:00 AM I woke to a sudden freezing chill. My room was small and my door overlooked the stairs which I always left open. Standing at the top of the stairs was the same sinister being. Staring and smiling. He stood there for a while and just watched me as if harnessing my fear. I was paralyzed by fear so I couldn't do anything. Eventually, he turned and walked down the stairs with his umbrella. I can still picture him walking and seeing the umbrella through the stair banister bobbing up and down as he went down.

He visited me three more times before we had a priest bless the house. After that, I never saw him again. Still brings tears to my eyes when I think too deeply about it. I consider myself a very spiritual person because of other paranormal experiences I've had. Nothing as truly frightening as that. I've named him the 'Umbrella Man.' I would do almost anything to never see him again. People tell similar stories of a "Hat Man" that sounds a lot like this thing. I don't want anyone to ever have this experience, I know he has visited other people." Z

6-FOOT-LONG WINGED HUMANOID Observed by Union Convention Attendee in Chicago, Illinois (PHOTOS)

An attendee at the NPMH Union Convention in Chicago, Illinois in August 2016 observes a winged humanoid from his hotel room in Millennium Park.

I received the following email on April 10, 2024:

"Hi, Lon. I can't believe I found this! I was at a convention in Chicago in 2016. I saw the Chicago Mothman from my hotel window. I tried to take photos and still have them. I'm not a nut. I'm a union official for the USPS and was attending our convention. I would be glad to send you what I have. Please contact me. My name is Joe Palau and I live in Brooklyn, NY."

NOTE: After I contacted Joe, I was told that he would go on the record by allowing me to publish his name and offer other personal information. I truly appreciate Joe's willingness to give his testimony.

Eyewitness Joseph Palau, an NPMH Union shop steward and World Trade Center 9/11 survivor, who was representing his Local Union (USPS, NYC) was attending the 2016 National Convention, which is scheduled to take place at the Fairmont Millennium Park Hotel in Chicago, Illinois during the week of August 22, 2016. He was staying at the same hotel, located at 200 North Columbus Drive.

During the first night of Joe's stay (August 21, 2016 at at around 10PM CT) he received a telephone call from a hospital in New York City informing him that his mother was rushed to the emergency room. He was told that he would be kept updated during the night, so he decided to stay awake.

Very soon after he got off the telephone with the hospital, he looked out his hotel room window, which was located on the east side of the building on the 8th floor. He observed a large black object at window level, gliding over North Columbus Drive, between the east side of the hotel and the building across the street. His first thought was that it was a black garbage bag, though soon realized that the altitude of this object was much higher than a garbage bag would typically be seen. Then he imagined that it was an over-sized kite or drone, but it was night time and that was probably not the correct identification.

As he continued to watch the object, it became apparent to Joe that this was clearly a dark-colored, 6-foot-long humanoid with wide wings that was slowly gliding to the left of his room. He also observed that the winged humanoid seemed to be watching a window on the building across the street, northeast of his hotel (Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel).

He continued to watch the winged humanoid for several minutes as it continued gliding back and forth between the building. He also noted that he never saw any flapping of the wings, and that the winged humanoid continued to glide at different altitudes, constantly watching the building on the eastern side of the street. He also noted that the street and building were well-lit, even at that altitude, and that the winged creature was fully visible, though he couldn't distinguish fine details, including the eyes or the makeup of the wing structure.

Then suddenly, as the creature flew by his window, heading south on North Columbus Drive, the winged humanoid vanished. Joe remained vigilant, hoping to get another look at the winged entity, but he never saw it again.

For almost 7 1/2 years he kept his encounter private until he recently heard me on a podcast interview describing the Chicago Mothman sightings in the Chicagoland region. He had never heard of the phenomenon until he heard the podcast. He immediately contacted me.

I conducted an extensive interview with Joe and found him to be quite articulate and forthright. He stated that he has never believed in the paranormal and cryptids, but that he is now convinced that this winged humanoid actually exists. He also stated that he believed that this was an interdimensional being with supernatural abilities by evidence of what he observed that night.

'TINY MAN' Manifests in Experiencer's Bedroom!

A witness recalls his father's pranks as a child. At a later point, the witness may have experienced a thought form manifestation of a 'tiny man' in his bedroom as a result.

The following account was forwarded to me by my friends & colleagues Kyle & Cam at Expanded Perspectives:

"I have a story I would like to share with you. One day on our road trip we go every now and then to see our grandparents we heard the story of the kid who claims to have seen the Easter bunny in his room at night. That and all the stories of the "little people" and the black stick figures reminded me of an experience I had when I lived in Maryland a few years ago.

My dad used to always scare the heck out of me and my siblings by making this "Witch" with a foam roller and a long wig or whatever it was. I would always run up to it when he wasn't looking and kick it as hard as I could. I had always asked him, "Dad? Will this thing come after me when I'm sleeping?" and he always said no, right?

Well, a few years later, long after he did these pranks, I was lying in my bed (which was open, so I could see down the hallway, I did not like this one bit. My door was wide open. I was reading my book. I had the light and the fan on and whatnot. But then, out of nowhere, the fire alarm goes off. I covered my ears and looked to see if Momma and Papa were all right and instead of seeing anything another normal-sized person, I a tiny man. I looked at it in shock thinking, "What the heck is this thing?" Then I thought that this was a prank from Papa so I turned out my light and then turned it back on. and it was there, but closer. I bit my lip which is what I always do when I think I'm in a dream and my lip started bleeding. I got so scared that when I saw it getting closer to me I hid under my pillow hoping it was gone. What felt like hours of sweating and almost crying I looked back and it was right in front of my face. I can't remember what happened after that. I feel like it touched my back. It was about 3 feet tall and had long dark hair just like my Dad made the witch.

I remember when I woke up I was crying so much and my parents kept telling me it was just a dream, but I assure you it wasn't. I'm scaring myself right now typing this story at 10pm." NJ

NOTE: Is it possible that the 'tiny man' was a mind manifestation or thought form generated by the witness's insecurity about being able to see the hallway from his bed, and triggered by the sudden fire alarm? The witness had already dealt with the memories of the 'witch' prank used by his father. Lon
