PHANTOMS & MONSTERS NEWS: Flying HUMANOID-SHAPED Object (PHOTO) - MUTATED BACTERIA Discovered on ISS - HUMAN JAWBONE Found in Rock Collection
Flying HUMANOID-SHAPED Object (PHOTO)
Onlookers were left perplexed by the appearance of a UFO that happened to be shaped a bit like a human.
We've seen a lot of videos and pictures over the years of strange, sometimes indescribable objects in the sky, but this particular example is perhaps one of the weirdest we've seen so far.
Footage of the anomalous object, which was filmed over Sequoia Park in California, was shared last week by the Twitter user @528vibes who described it as a "flying humanoid".

At first, the footage is a bit difficult to make out as the object itself isn't in proper focus.
Over time, however, it's possible to make out that the object has a distinctly human-like shape.
If you speed up the clip (or just slide the position marker along), the object actually looks like a figure rotating and tumbling through the air with arms and legs flailing in all directions.
So what on Earth could this be? Read more at Strange humanoid-shaped object filmed in the skies over California

MUTATED BACTERIA Discovered on ISS
The International Space Station (ISS) is home to crews of astronauts conducting research in low Earth orbit, but it also hosts a group of mutated bacteria that are thriving under the harsh conditions of space.
A group of researchers took a closer look at bacterial strains on board the ISS and found that they had mutated to a different form that’s genetically and functionally distinct from their Earthly counterparts. In a new study published on PubMed, scientists suggest that bacteria in space become more resistant to treatment or drugs, and are able to openly persist in the microgravity environment in abundance.
Over the past two decades, the ISS has hosted nearly 300 astronauts. Although astronauts tend to travel light, they do unintentionally bring their microbes with them to space. As a result, a unique microbial population has grown on the space station. In 2019, researchers conducted the first extensive survey of bacteria and fungi on board the ISS and found a whole bunch of microorganisms living among the astronauts. HUMAN JAWBONE Found in Rock Collection
Experts have confirmed that a human jawbone that was mysteriously discovered in a child's rock collection once belonged to a United States Marine, who died during his military service over 70 years ago. The identification was made thanks to the work of a group of college students and a high school intern who may be the youngest person to help solve a genetic genealogy case.
U.S. Marine Corps Captain Everett Leland Yager was killed in a military training exercise in July 1951, according to a news release issued this week by Ramapo College, the New Jersey institution where students performed tests on the jawbone and eventually linked it back to him. A separate statement from the college's Investigative Genetic Genealogy Center noted that the military exercise involved an airplane accident, although it did not provide more details than that. BIGFOOT Chases & Follows Couple Home in Rural Northern Minnesota

A Minnesota couple was driving home at night. They noticed that an 'ugly bear' was closely following their car, even though they were driving the speed limit. They later encounter the beast at home!
The following account was forwarded to me:
"This is about a Bigfoot that we encountered in Northern Minnesota near the Canadian/U.S. border on the night of July 14, 2023. My boyfriend and I were coming back from work and it’s a pretty dead two-lane road. There's never really much traffic, so we were just driving slow and telling each other about work, and in the corner of my eye I saw what I thought was maybe a bear and I said, “Hey! Look! I see a bear!” We were going about 45 mph. So, he looked and he got kind of weird-faced. He told me, “It doesn’t look like a bear. If it is it’s one hell of an ugly bear.” We laughed and drove off.
Later we were almost home and we noticed this ugly bear had been following our car! Let me remind you we’re now doing about 55 mph and it was easily following about 10 feet behind us! I got worried because we had to turn up ahead, which meant we had to slow down and this bear could get to our car. I was terrified! I told my boyfriend to take a sharp turn and pray we didn’t go into the river. We didn’t and we’re now on the gravel road to our place and the bear was gone. We made it home and we got inside. We went to bed to watch television.
About 2 hours later, I went outside to grab my keys because he had left them in the car. While near the car I hear something to the left of me, behind the house. We have a lot of wildlife out here so it doesn’t really scare me but this animal sounded big. I thought maybe it was a bear so I hurried inside. I find my boyfriend wide-eyed and he tells me, “I just saw Bigfoot!” Let me just say, that he does not believe in cryptids. He makes fun of me for being interested in aliens. So I believed him, especially when he started to tear up. He was so scared and I didn’t know what to do. I told him to lie down and turn on your favorite movie while I go lock the doors.
When I went to look out the front door while locking it, it was standing right there in the tree line looking right at me. It could see me for sure! The lights were on and everything. I pretended I didn’t see it but when I looked again it was gone. My boyfriend and I have not seen it since that day." T

RED-EYED MOTHMAN Encountered in Roanoke, Virginia Area Parking Lot

A man, his girlfriend, and her son were moving to another state. They stopped in a Roanoke, Virginia area parking lot to rest. That is when they encountered a creature that deeply disturbed them.
I received the following account:
"This did not happen to me, but to a friend of mine. While I can't say with 100% certainty that he saw the Mothman, I do honestly believe him that he saw something out of the ordinary. When this came up, he knew nothing about the legend of the Mothman. It wasn't until later when a Mothman Prophecies movie came out that he decided to look into it and noticed all the similarities.
What happened to him was, he and his girlfriend and her son were moving from one state to the other. I remember that it was a few weeks after 9/11. They were in the Roanoke, Virginia area at the time of the encounter. This particular night, they pulled over in a parking lot to sleep. They actually had two vehicles with them, one was driving the car and the other was following with the U-Haul.
At one point he got out of the car and went to the U-Haul to get something out of the back. That's when he heard his girlfriend screaming. There was a tall dark figure hovering over the car where she and her son were inside, and it seemed to be looking into the windows and poking or scratching at the glass. When my friend shined a flashlight on it, he said he saw squinting red eyes and it was gone with a flash. It ended up landing on a tall branch in the tree line, and it was looking back at them with round red glowing eyes. He watched it for a minute, then he said it darted straight up into the sky and took off. It never flapped its wings, it just took off like a rocket faster than any living thing on Earth.
He was incredibly shaken up by this encounter, and so was his girlfriend. He said that their relationship was never the same after this and that she changed. I had a deep interest in the Mothman that I kept pressing him for details but you could tell it really upset him." L

'MICHIGAN DOGMAN' ENCOUNTER STORY Convinces Man That These Cryptid Canines Do Exist!

Michigan Dogman encounter story convinces the man that the account is true and that these creatures do exist in the Upper Peninsula. What do you believe?
I received the following account:
"I was told about this incident many years ago. A group of 4 men in Michigan's Upper Penisula were going camping/fishing at night. They were avid outdoorsmen. Big and buff men who matched the lumberjack aesthetic. They live outdoors in the boonies and always have.
Their families stayed behind at camp that night while the men took their jon boat out to catch the next day's meals. They get pretty far from their families when they decide to pull off on a shoreline. It's pitch dark outside while they're setting up their chairs and lights.
As they are setting up they start hearing something pacing the treeline behind them. They shine their lights and catch red eye-shine watching them. They're a little weary of this but continue setting up. They've seen just about every predator there is out there, they're alert but they aren't scared.
They continue getting their gear ready when they start to hear growling from the other side of the tree line. They shine their lights and there's a second pair of red eyes. Now they're unsettled and begin to pack their stuff up. One of them stays up as a watch and keeps their lights between the two animals in the woods. By this point, both the animals are growling and making huffing noises. They're almost done packing the gear they have when a massive rock flies over their heads and into the water. Now they're really put off and start throwing things in the boat.
They have about half of the stuff in the boat when one man screams and points to the tree line. They described the creature as being inhumanly tall, covered in hair, very muscular or just broad and big, and having a face more like a wolf. The creature is now screaming at them as it's slowly advancing towards them. The men are horrified and ditch their remaining gear.
When they manage to get the boat out into the water they all shine their lights back to the shore and can see the rough shape of now two creatures both the same in shape and height. The men who are telling this story are literally sobbing and struggling to get their words out. They get back to their families at camp and immediately order everyone to start packing up. They don't tell their families why but they can obviously tell something is seriously wrong.
This is obviously a Michigan Dogman story. These men were so scared of something out there they went as far as to move to the suburbs/cities. They were so scared their own homes didn't feel safe anymore and they never went camping again. The fact that these families were raised outdoors and these men spent 99% of their lives out there living off fish they caught or animals they hunted made this very believable to me. They were crying and shaking while telling this story.
I'm not at all saying men can't cry but big macho lumberjack-looking men all crying in front of each other and barely being able to get the whole story out was enough for me to believe them. I don't know what they saw but I believe they definitely encountered something." W

BIGFOOT SIGHTINGS: Taboo Subject in Michigan Town

The subject of Bigfoot, according to an Allegan, Michigan resident, was a taboo subject for a long time. His mother opened up about a sighting and was investigated for mental illness.
The following account was forwarded to me:
"The city I grew up in (Allegan, Michigan) has had sightings of an almost white Bigfoot-like creature. These have gone back generations and between families that didn't know each other and even those just moving to the area. Some new farmers on day one would see it before any real interactions with those who have been there for decades.
My group of friends had three parents of different kids, all with their own sightings and would never talk about openly. Fast forward years and during a game of hide and seek in an orchard, we all felt the ground gently shake as a massive white biped ran through mere feet from a few of us. We ran like hell to the house and started telling my buddies' parents. They shrugged it off, saying we were making it up to prank them to the point his mother yelled at us to stop.
Years later, when more news popped up about cryptids in general, we started hearing our parents' stories and the ones their parents had. Then, like a flood, our town was filled with people talking about it, and it was OK to in public.
A lot of people won't because of the backlash they can get, and I know one family that temporarily lost their kids. The mom had been talking about it at work with a close friend a few towns away, and someone heard her. They called the state and ran a full report that she was mentally unstable and should be investigated. Just like that, the town closed its lips and it was hushed.
I just heard about a month ago from my uncle a farmer lost 2 of his calves. They were found over half a mile away, mostly eaten, with both in a tree five feet off the ground. Now the towns talking again.
Almost feels like a repeat thing every 20 years roughly. And soon it'll hush down again. The photo that used to be in the party store outside of town where the hunters would hang their harvest pics of deer disappeared one day before I got there to see it. The owner said it was a clear-as-day photo of an almost sandy blonde ape on two legs taller than the 6-foot fence post it was behind.
We have never talked much outside of my hometown about it. For the most part, we didn't want a flood of hunters and investigators coming in and clogging the town. This year should be interesting up there, and I am saddened I won't be able to make it for hunting as seeing the 'Old Man of the Woods' as my grandpa called him would be great right about now. After moving I always waited to hear that it's alright or the family of them are still around." S

PHANTOMS & MONSTERS NEWS: Thousands of THYLACINE Reports - CHICAGO MOTHMAN Witness Comes Forward - SETI: 'No Evidence For Alien Technology'
Thousands of THYLACINE Reports
There's the Loch Ness monster in Scotland. And in the Himalayas, there's the yeti, the Abominable Snowman. In Tasmania—a teardrop of an island under the eye of the Australian mainland—there's the thylacine… a creature that brings out folklore... and folks armed with grainy images, convinced they've seen the thing. But unlike other mythical creatures, the thylacine, or Tasmanian tiger, actually—indisputably— existed, an apex predator the size of a small wolf, roamed the island as recently as last century. which gives hope to so many obsessives, dreamers, and true believers, looking for the Tasmanian tiger in the bush… and, as you'll see, in the lab.
This is a story that says as much about human nature as it does 'nature' nature. Further proof that—even in the face of science and logic—passion survives in the wild just fine. Read more at Reports of Tasmanian tiger sightings come by the thousands as Aussies search for extinct thylacine

CHICAGO MOTHMAN Witness Comes Forward
Lon Strickler of Phantoms & Monsters recently spoke with Joseph Palau, a Brooklynn, New York resident and union official for the United States Postal Service (USPS), who said that he saw the “Chicago Mothman” outside of his hotel window while visiting Chicago for a convention in 2016.

"Eyewitness Joseph Palau, an NPMH union shop steward and World Trade Center 9/11 survivor, who was representing his Local Union (USPS, NYC) was attending the 2016 National Convention, which was scheduled to take place at the Fairmont Millennium Park Hotel in Chicago, Illinois, during the week of August 22nd, 2016. He was staying at the same hotel, located at 200 North Columbus Drive," Strickler said. Read more at USPS Union Official Reports "Mothman" Sighting in Downtown Chicago

SETI: 'No Evidence For Alien Technology'
If all the reports of mysterious objects buzzing our skies are taken as true encounters, the Earth appears to be under assault.
But spoiler alert: For the chief leader of the SETI Institute, established to search for and understand life beyond Earth, there's a need to step back and cuddle up to a cup of cosmic reality.
"We don't have any evidence of any credible source that would indicate the presence of alien technology in our skies. And we never have," said Bill Diamond, president and chief executive officer of the SETI Institute, headquartered in Mountain View, California. "The idea that the government is keeping something like this secret is just totally absurd. There's no motivation to do so." Read more at SETI chief says US has no evidence for alien technology. Father's DOPPELGANGER Raises Troubling Questions For the Eyewitness

A boy is at his kitchen table waiting for his mother to pour him a glass of milk. He then notices his father, but it isn't actually him. Was it a doppelganger, and did it contribute to a later incident?
I received the following account:
"I can only assume what I and my mom encountered was a doppelganger. Before I start my story, my dad used to work at night. Anyway, when I was around 10 years old I lived in a townhouse with my mom and dad (up until my mom passed away less than a couple months later) and she was pouring me some milk in the kitchen like every other night and I was winding down for school the next day. There was nothing scary about this night and I was just waiting for my mom to pour milk and looking out into our living room in front of me looking at things and just waiting.
However, as my head swivels from looking around my dad appeared in front of a closet door in our living room. It didn't scare me at first since I just assumed it was my dad, but looking back there was no noise ever made. Our doors and floors creaked and with how quiet it was we would have heard anyone moving around. However, what was so scary about it was that "my dad" was just standing there and staring at us from across the room. I still was under the impression this was my dad but the longer he kept standing there and staring at me the scarier it got. He didn't move an inch, didn't blink, and the longer I kept looking at him I noticed his eyes were too small. They were wide open but small enough to where it looked wrong.
I remember I started to blink and rub my eyes because I thought maybe I was seeing things, but it just kept standing there for a good minute longer until it disappeared after a blink. No noise at all. There was no way considering it disappeared in a blink for it to have humanly moved that fast without making some kind of sound. The only way it could have disappeared as fast as it did was if it slammed the door shut behind it.
I remember how terrified I was at that point and looking to my mom to see if she saw it too but when she didn't say anything and so I assumed I just hallucinated it. That was until a few years ago I was telling my dad about that night and he told me my mom had also seen it, but due to her mental health problems and me not saying anything to her (or him) about it (I hadn't said anything when I looked at her) he dismissed it as a hallucination. Nothing quite like that has ever happened to me again, but that experience was why I couldn't sleep without a light on for years.
Before that day I was not afraid of the dark, I didn't believe in ghosts (didn't even understand people could actually die at that point and was not really exposed to religion and not recently either). Every night after that incident until we moved I was petrified to even sleep in my room.
I feel that I need to mention that my mother, because of her mental illness, took her own life. I now wonder if that strange incident contributed to her demise." U

WENDIGO MYTHOLOGY - WHAT ARE THEY? | Join Us For LIVE CHAT | Questions & Answers #Wendigo #Cannibal
The wendigo has been misappropriated from its original context in Algonquin folklore. The word "Wendigo" roughly means “The Evil Spirit Who Devours Mankind.” Originally it was depicted as a cannibal ice giant and cautionary tale relevant to the realities of Algonquin life. Euro-American popular culture mutilated it into what may only be described as a "zombie-were-deer."
First, the Algonquin monster has relevance to their traditional way of life. Their culture was reliant on teamwork, so selfishness is a deadly sin to them, and the wendigo is the ultimate embodiment of that.
Secondly, wendigo psychosis is a real mental illness and was historically used as a justification to destroy the Algonquin culture. There are written accounts in the last two centuries of people suffering from this illness being murdered by their peers.
So then, how was the Wendigo tale altered? This goes back over a century to Algernon Blackwood's story "The Wendigo." The story does not depict a Wendigo but seems to get it confused with the Inuit (not Algonquin) creature Ijiraq and possibly the Tariaksuq. In the story, the monster burns away a victim's feet with friction, while in myth the Ijiraq is sometimes described as stripping the flesh off its victim's shins and if it survives then it becomes a faster runner. The Ijiraq is otherwise described as a trickster who kidnaps children or lures hunters by pretending to be caribou. So, it is easy to assume Blackwood read about the Ijiraq and then twisted the details for his own story.
Now Euro-American popular culture takes the name of an Algonquin cannibal ice giant and applies it to a zombie-were-deer; it has been utterly stripped of its original context and symbolism. I doubt there will ever be much push-back against the zombie-wear-deer version since it has been burned into popular culture at this point.
Now, that being stated, I'm going to present several modern-day accounts that some of the witnesses described as the ‘Wendigo.' Then you can determine what the creature in the report is. Is it an original folktale of the cannibal ice giant or something a bit more contemporary?

Child Has Profound DOGMAN ENCOUNTER in Northwest Michigan

A Northwest Michigan resident discusses his encounter with a Dogman as a child. The massive, upright beast was peering through his bedroom window. He is a believer.
I received the following account:
"I live in the Northwestern side of Michigan, and we have this legend called the Dogman. It's basically like a werewolf-type thing.
I was nine years old when this happened. At that point, I still shared a room with my sister, and so my bed was on one wall with a big window on the opposite side. My sister's bed was right underneath that window. We were on the first floor of the house, but we live on a hill so it's slanted and so it's still a pretty high window (nine feet off the ground maybe.)
Anyway, I woke up one Saturday night feeling really thirsty. It was about two in the morning, and everyone else in my family was asleep. I was about to crawl out of my bed to go to the bathroom just down the hall when I looked out the window and froze.
At the very bottom of the window, there was a really dark shape. It looked kind of like the top part of a Siberian Husky's head. It was a big thing, with two points that looked like ears on the top. I couldn't make out any other features, so while I was still scared, at first I just thought it was a reflection of the pillows at the end of my sister's bed.
And then it moved. You know how dogs kind of twitch their ears and perk them up when they're trying to hear better? That's what this shape did. The two points that I took for ears twitched and then came back into place, and it wasn't a subtle movement at all so I knew it wasn't just a reflection.
The Dogman story is really big here, and we live right in the woods, so I immediately thought of that. I got really scared then, so I did the typical kid thing, pulled the covers over my head, and went back to sleep without getting my water. In the morning there was nothing outside the window, and no marks on the side of the house or anything. No evidence that there had been something there at all. The thing that really stumps me is wondering how anything would manage to stay up by a window that's nine feet off the ground in the first place.
Since I was nine, I have accepted that it was possible I just imagined it. I already knew the Dogman story, so maybe I was just scared, to begin with and that fear kind of manifested itself like that. At the same time, I really do believe that there was something outside the window, Dogman or not." T

VANCOUVER ISLAND, BC BIGFOOT PHOTO: What Do You Think?

The following photo was recently posted on a British Columbia hiking group on Facebook. The woman who posted the photo (Barb Stanbrook-Schmidt) stated:
"Two years ago we were hiking on Vancouver Island in October. It was the middle of the week, in the backcountry near Englishman River and we met this fellow lurking in the woods."

Here is a screenshot of the Facebook conversation:

'DEER MAN' Observed by Brothers in Rural East Texas

Two rural East Texas brothers observe an unknown, skinny, antlered humanoid moving from the field into the woods near their home. It was not a human or a deer. What was it?
I received the following account:
"Growing up in rural East Texas we would run/bike on our road after school. Our road was a dead-end road, so nobody ever drove down unless it was the mailman or someone living there. To do a whole lap was about 1 mile. There was one stretch of the road that was empty, with one side of the road having pretty thick woods and the other being an open field but with really tall grass that came up to the waist. This stretch was maybe 1/3rd of a mile? I'm not sure, but it was quite a distance between the two houses on either end of the stretch.
One afternoon as we'd started running, we had just passed the house marking the beginning of the stretch when we saw something move from the field into the woods. It was super fast! I've never seen anything move that fast in my life. And it was on two legs. But, it wasn't a human. The center of balance was off. It reminded me of how a bear may run, but it was much skinnier than a bear and there was no way a bear could move that fast on two legs. It definitely wasn't human though. My brother saw antlers on its head, but it definitely wasn't a deer either. A deer can't run for 50 yards on two legs. Whatever it was, went into the woods and didn't make a single noise.
We turned right around and went home for the day. We never saw anything like that again, but I swear that if my brother hadn't been there, I would have thought I was imagining things." S
