Stalked By A Sasquatch

I recently came across the following account:

My dad and I were hiking back in late November 2005, in a place called the UBC Research Forest north of Pitt Meadows, BC, Canada (about thirty miles east and a bit north of Vancouver, Canada). It's on the edge of the mountains, with several logging roads and trails. Anyway the day was already getting late when we headed out, the weather horrible. No wind but there were showers with hail and slush. We were the only people in the area hiking (parking lot was empty both when we arrived and left). So after about an hour of hiking randomly up logging roads and trails we were a good several miles into the "area" when we take a break by a small stream in a small gully.

Anyway, we smell this horrible scent (sort of skunkish, with a human and fish scent mixed in). Neither of us has ever smelled anything like this before and we both have encountered every large animals out here on the coast. Because there was no wind, we knew it was close.

So we keep going along this hillside. Above us, at about fifty feet, is an old overgrown logging slash. below us, a thickly wooded slope (could see maybe a hundred feet down the slope). We get this feeling we are being followed, the forest becomes too silent. Even the local ravens didn't make a sound.

We smell this scent two more times, now stronger. So we begin hiking faster. As we come out of a small gully we hear a crash. Spinning around we race back to the crest and look back down. Something large and tall (easily taller than my dad who is six foot), disappears into the bush. We just catch a glimpse of a dark brown mass. Neither of us is armed, so we continue on at full pace, knowing there is a logging road ahead.

Again we smell this weird odor. We heard noises from the old logging meadow above us. Whatever this thing is, it's moving VERY silently. Yet the odd time it would break a branch or bump a small tree. I've been followed by bear and cat before, neither moved like this. It was way too silent to be either (just for the record, Grizzlies aren't in this area but I have encountered them before too.) After we round a bend in the slope, we hear movement again. It was on the lower side of us now, or so it seemed.

After another few minutes we hear it again (and smell it). Now it was moving on the upper side of us, just over a low ridge (maybe a hundred feet away). By now we can see the logging road a hundred or two hundred feet ahead. Then this thing let out a cry...it sent a shiver down my spine. My dad (who I have never seen afraid before except the one time I was near death, another story, went cold). It sounded the cross between a 'whoop', a human, and something unknown. It lasted for about five seconds. We turned and ran to the road.

Running down the road we pass a junction and continue heading south. I dropped something a few seconds later (about two hundred feet past the junction). I stop, turn, and pick it up. Up amongst the trees something tall and dark ducked out of sight. What it was, I haven't a clue. But it was tall and fairly slim....it was too dark to really tell what it was (getting close to dark). So we run back to the parking lot...

Unfortunately it snowed the next day (several inches) otherwise we would have gone back and searched for evidence of this occurrence. This is the only time I have ever been scared in the woods. - AT

Sudden Sickness After Observing A Black-Eyed Man

Jamie in Ohio called in to tell of a weird experience she had:

“I just wanted to tell you that when I first got married back in 1998 my husband and his family went to Matamoros, Mexico to go see his grandmother. And when we were leaving, I was sitting in the backseat of the car and I was just looking around and I glanced over – something told me to glance over, so I glanced over to my right and as I looked, there was like a crowd of people standing on the road but one man stood out and their face looked so weird. It was like they had no eyes. It was like their eyes were just black and I'm staring and it was like, something doesn't look right and they were staring at me and the car turned so I couldn't see them anymore.

Next thing I know, I felt so sick that I thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room. And I'm telling my husband, 'I feel sick... all of a sudden I feel sick.' And he, you know, him and his parents thought maybe it was the heat because I had lived in Alaska for three years and I was trying to adapt to the heat. I said, 'No, I don't think it's the heat. Something just doesn't feel right.' I thought I was going to die and they are trying to hurry up and get me back to Brownsville and I said, 'Take me to the emergency room!' And instead they took me home and they took me into a cold, dark bedroom and his mom laid me on the bed and I've never believed in this stuff. I mean, I'm not very superstitious but she went and got an egg and she'd taken this egg and rubbed it all over my body and she was whispering something. I don't know if it was a prayer or what but as she got to my right hand, the egg exploded and she got startled. The egg exploded everywhere. Then, next thing I know, not even five minutes later, I'm feeling better. It was weird. But all I know is what I saw over there in Mexico was the weirdest thing ever. And with you talking about these black eyed people or black eyed kids (Clyde and guest Mary Ellen Guiley were discussing black eyed kids), it struck fear in me because it just triggered that memory of what I saw. That's just weird because, like I said, I don't really believe in this stuff. Then you're talking about it and I'm like, maybe it is real?”

Huge Owl Encountered in East Berlin, Connecticut

I recently found the following account:

This happened roughly around the year 2006. I was around 9 years old and I think I was in 3rd grade. (I'm not good with dates/times.) I was in Richard D. Hubbard Elementary School, located in East Berlin, CT. Every recess, my two female friends and I would venture past the playground into the field. We would stick around the edge of the field, along a fence that borders some woods and a pond. We were not allowed to go past the second light pole, so we would linger around that pole, talking, playing, looking at the woods and pond.

One day, it was either late spring or summer because the canopy was green and the temperature was mild, we were walking out to the pole as usual. I was absorbed in conversation, but before we got to the second pole, my friend said, 'Oh, look at that bird!' As I scanned the woods, my other friend spotted it before me and was saying something like, 'Wow! It's huge!' Finally, I noticed it, and it WAS huge. It was perched on a very thick Sycamore tree limb and its talons nearly wrapped completely around the limb's circumference. It was so big, in fact, that it looked like someone cut it out and pasted it on a background that was too small. I immediately looked for its eyes. This is the first thing I always do when I encounter an animal. Any bragging aside, I'm a very good animal whisperer, if you will, and initial eye contact is very important for me to connect with any animal. But I could not find this thing's eyes because they were evidently concealed by a face-full of down or very fluffy, small feathers. I assumed it was molting season and it was losing its winter plumage because it seemed to be too large to be a baby bird of any kind. Its head was just like that of an owl's - rounded, with an indented 'v' on its forehead. I don't remember the exact colors, but it was mottled with typical bird-of-prey colors, not one solid color.

I had only been looking at this bird for maybe two seconds when there was a loud snap and the limb it was resting on fell off the tree. I don't know if the bird had shifted its weight when we spotted it, or if this was just coincidence. Well, when the limb came crashing down, all I saw was a blur as this bird struggled to stay airborne. I think one or both of my friends may have screamed, but I was just taking this all in. After that very brief blur of flapping, it flew (mostly glided) directly toward us. That's when my friends took off running but I stayed watching it. I was not scared at all, just intrigued. I instinctively knew this bird was not in attack mode, but it was annoyed that we had disturbed it. But as my friends kept running, one of them was desperately calling out my name and the other was anxiously shrieking because I had not moved. And as I watched it fly toward me, its yellow talons were outstretched as if to pounce. It really looked as if it was not going to stop. So I pulled away from my instincts and ran toward my friends, looking over my shoulder as I did. I distinctly remember the chill in the air as its huge shadow fell upon me. But at the last second, it pulled its talons in and swerved back up over the treeline, and it was gone, just like that.

Now, while I was intrigued and grateful for having experienced this, I didn't think there was anything unusual about this. It was years later that I found out this couldn't have been any known species, as it was much too big, even to be an abnormally large specimen of a known species. The wingspan was at least 10 feet, probably around 12 feet. Its height was harder to ascertain because I didn't have a good reference point when it was perched up in the tree, but I would say it was between 3 and 4 feet tall. If I had known this was not a known species, I would have kept a tighter hold on the memory. Another detail I remember is that I think I saw the center (not the tip) of its beak, amid all that fluff. If it was indeed the beak, then it had a yellow, owl-like beak. Now, for a while I thought there must be a great forest behind that fence if there was such a big bird living there. But it turns out that it takes one minute to walk from the fence to some condominiums on the other side. I then tried to find the limb that fell and see if there were scratch marks on it, but I knew it would do little to prove anything. Discouraged, I went on Google Maps to find out what was in the direction it flew off to. I quickly found a place called Owl's Lair Cliff in Ragged Mountain State Park, which is in the exact direction it was heading. I was excited but also realized that it has been so long and it probably never lived around here anyway because I doubt there would be enough food to sustain it. I've never heard any similar reports in CT, either. - WW

Yellow-Eyed Winged Humanoid Observed at Prairie Creek Reservoir in 2007

I recently received the following account:

My mom sent me your article because I have also seen the humanoid at Prairie Creek Reservoir! I am originally from Muncie, IN and grew up spending a lot of time at Prairie Creek because my family has a boat there.

It was summer 2007 when we had taken a boat ride and watched the sunset. It was dusk and the sun was setting as we approached our dock. As we got closer my friend and I both saw what looked like a human standing at the end of our dock and thought it was strange because there was no one else around - our neighboring boats were all docked, there were no other cars around, etc. We were the only one out that evening from our dock area. It then turned around and we saw its glowing yellow-ish eyes. At this point, we were freaked out wondering what this was because there was something totally off about it and it was clearly not a normal human. Then, as we got even closer, it spread its wings, flapped a few times and soared up into the sky. It was WAY too big to be a bird...I've never seen anything like it before or after. It was probably around 5-6 feet tall and really dark, the whole body and wings were gray/black.

Not sure if this is of interest but my family and I also saw a UFO at Prairie Creek Reservoir around dusk as well a few years later. We were one of the only boats on the water, it was such a serene, quiet and peaceful evening. My mother looked up at the sky and saw the UFO so we all looked up, it was shaped like a tin can, stayed still and made absolutely no noise. At that instant, my father caught a fish and the commotion caused us all to look down and a few seconds later when we looked back up it was gone without a trace. AB

UFO Sightings by Military Personnel

Late 1980s or early 1990s - North Dakota, USA “When I was a kid, I was a military brat. I lived on Minot AFB in North Dakota in the late 80s and early 90s. One summer I was in the backyard playing in the pool we had set up. While playing I saw something reflect sunlight off the water. I looked up and saw a shiny metallic triangle craft. It was silent and spinning and just above the rooftop level in the air. I never heard of UFO's or aliens at the time so I thought it was a weird airplane that I had never seen before flying directly above my head. I panicked thinking it would crash into base housing because of how low it was, how quiet it was and I thought the engines were out and it was going down. I told my sister to go get mom and call the SP'S and tell them there was going to be a lot of people hurt when this crashed into the housing. While she got my mom, I watched in awe as this thing never got lower in the air and in fact, continued to spin and cross the entire horizon. By the time my mom came out, the only thing you could see is a quick flash as the triangle reflected light from the sun every time it spun around in the distance. I've never seen anything like it since nor have I heard of any reports like it in my life.” - UniformedDisorder

Craig from Minneapolis called to tell of a his weird experience:

“So my story was in Greece. I was in the military and we were there on a NATO mission training with Greek soldiers. And we had some time off. I was with my buddies. They were kind of touring around Greece. And we walked into this, I believe, Greek Orthodox Church. I have no religious background whatsoever. We were in the church and one of the guys said, 'They have these candles and we should light these candles.' I honestly don't remember what the candles were all about but I remember lighting the candle. Anyway, we were walking back towards the port, and, you know, big steep hill. I was kind of ahead of everybody in my group and all of a sudden I heard this voice that said: 'Get out of the way!' And I kind of reached out to this, like, pole, and I reached out and I grabbed the pole and kind of swung around. At that very minute, this car came up on the sidewalk and hit the wall that was next to me. It would have ran me over had I not gotten out of the way. These three Greek guys kind of get out, they kind of push the car back like nothing happened and kept on going and my buddies come running down the hill and they are like, 'Are you alright?' And I'm like, 'Yeah, fine. Did one of you guys yell get out of the way?' And they said, 'No, we didn't say anything. We didn't know it was happening.' And I just had this voice that said, Get out of the way! I very vividly remember that very moment.”

San Antonio, Texas, USA “Personally, I and about 80 U.S. Airmen in police training school at the U.S. Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas were in line for breakfast. We all saw FIRST: A UFO or dim white light doing "impossible" things in the extremely clear early morning nighttime sky. It was a light that was zigzagging or "flying" like a butterfly eventually going from a very high angle in the clear sky to near the horizon below the point of the near-setting full moon in the west direction. Then it traveled, still jerking-around like a butterfly, back to the high angle far above the horizon eventually to disappear after a few minutes of display roughly three miles away. One airman was so frightened that he yelled out, "Its not moving!" I responded in a loud voice that the light or UFO moved from high up in the sky down to near the horizon, below the moon, and back up high again. The other airmen remained in the lunch-line like good little well-trained soldiers saying nothing after witnessing it all. NEXT, another airman approached me and told me about a lot of other UFO's in a different direction, because I was so vocal about the first light being a real UFO. So, we sat on the street curb watching for them. Only moments later, we both saw light shows that were out of this world to which I excitedly asked him in order to confirm my own observation, "What did you see!" He confirmed my own observation. We saw extremely bright, white lights, maybe 30 to 50 feet across or in diameter and perhaps either spherical or like dinner-plates in shape, appeared out of the east but not extending from the distant horizon, and traveled one at a time nearly over us but to the south. They traveled about 700 miles per hour at roughly 800 to 1,000 feet or more in altitude and perhaps 500 to 800 feet south of us. None of them made detectable sounds. But at such a close distance, jets or even propeller-driven airplanes or helicopters would have sounded very loud to extremely loud to our ears. Suddenly, each extremely bright, white light, some blinking rapidly on and off just like strobe sights, coming from the east suddenly!!! made an impossible right angle turn on a pin-point thus traveling south. Then they'd disappear before reaching the horizon. No 700 mph jet or missile does instant 90-degree turns and they are very loud. This show lasted for several minutes and that other airman and I both saw the same things. Later that day, I visited one of the other barracks or living quarters and interviewed several airmen. They all acknowledge what I saw, so I was not dreaming or imagining it. My notes are still here with me and some of my notes I do not recall but indicate that I saw other UFO's. Bat-Winged Humanoid Encountered Near Indianapolis International Airport

I recently received the following report from an eyewitness 'CJ':

A friend of mine just sent me an article on sightings about the humanoid type flying creature in Indiana. It had written in it about a recent sighting of this thing. My girlfriend and I both witnessed this same creature about 6 years ago (summer 2012) while traveling I-465 north headed to the Indianapolis International Airport around 3am.

The creature (Mothman) as we have been calling it, flew right in front of our windshield! It soared in between 2 buildings and came right in front of the van (taxi van, I was on a cab fare). It turned its head and looked right at us with little red eyes. It then flapped its wings one time and flew to the left really fast. The wings were so beautiful. I'll never forget how amazing they were. It was a very bat-like being. You could almost see through his wings. You could see the veins bulging from all angles of the wings and light that illuminated through them in the background. And I'll NEVER forget the eyes. They were piercing and felt as if they looked right into my soul. It was definitely a very deep feeling.

And you know funny thing was? Even though this massive thing flew so close in front of the van, I felt I was going to hit him, I never once put my breaks on. And I think back about that and why I didn't a lot. I mean I'm a taxi driver with a chauffeur license trained to be safe and cautious. Yet I never once slammed on my brakes or attempted to stop.

Just thought I should contact you. I hope to hear back from you. I would like to know more about this thing. We wanted to tell someone bigger than just our circle of friends and family but didnt know who. CJ

NOTE: I contacted CJ and her companion for additional information. She and her companion (in the front) were with two fares (soldier and his girlfriend in the back). CJ states that the winged being had a thin 7 ft. body, brownish in color. The bat-like wingspan was at least 12 ft. in length. The red eyes had a distinct illumination and were very bright.

It Came Out of the Closet

Phillip in Texas called to tell of a strange thing that happened to him and his family:

“I got one that fits perfectly with what you said (Clyde and his guest Rosemary Ellen Guiley were discussing strange, creepy things children say) but this happened about thirty years ago. My twins were one year old, we put them to bed and they woke up in the middle of the night screaming. They were saying a headless man, or a man with no head, and a horsey-head came out of their closet. And their closet door happened to be open. We calmed them down, put them to bed, closed the closet door. Didn't think anything of it.

A few nights later, the same thing happened again. They were in hysterics, screaming and crying, saying the same thing, a headless man and a horsey man came out of the closet. We figured maybe they were opening the closet. They were one years old so they could get out of the crib. So we put one of the cribs up against the closet and we put them to bed. That night we heard a big crash and the kids were screaming in hysterics. We walked in the hallway. Their door was hanging on an I-hook and one of the hinges at an angle. Inside the room, the one crib we had put up against the closet door was all the way across the room. The closet door was open and the kids were incoherent, they were screaming and crying so hard. They were saying, a man with no head and a horsey head.

After that third incident where the door was actually pulled off its hinges and I know one year old twins cannot do that, that was the last night they stayed in that room.”

A Reader Asks: Is Bigfoot An Alien Being?

A reader forwarded the following email to me in 2010. I thought I'd post again after recently receiving a Bigfoot sighting report in the same general area and for your comments:

Hi Lon. I read your site daily and have enjoyed the personal stories by your readers. I had an experience when I was a boy that I hope would be of interest.

In September 1978, I lived with my father on a farm in the vicinity of Shawano, Wisconsin which is very near the Menominee Indian Reservation. There had been some buzz within the community of an unknown large hairy creature spotted by two deer hunters not far from our farm. I had heard stories of the Manabai'wok or 'The Giants' from stories told by the Menominee, but I just considered these tales to be legends.

Then one evening, my father and I were coming home from the store and noticed what appeared to be two hairy creatures collecting squash from the garden. Each creature was at least 6 foot tall. It was dusk but there was enough light to clearly see what they were doing. My father immediately cut the headlights and stopped the car as we just sat there and watched them pick and eat the squash. They didn't seem to even notice us, even though we were about 100 feet from them.

After about 5 minutes, one of the creatures looked in our direction and you could see it's eyes glow red from the moonlight. We started to get scared and decided to make a dash for the house and call the police. Then suddenly, a huge disc-shaped objects appeared above us and slowly moved towards the east field which was about 200 hundred yards from us and landed. I estimate the craft was about 40 feet in diameter. A large sliding door opened immediately and a foggy green light glowed from within the craft. After a few seconds, the door closed and craft slowly rose and shot off towards the north. Then we noticed that the creatures were gone.

A few days later, our neighbors from down the road came over for dinner. After we finished eating, my father and Mr. C walked outside. After an hour or so, the neighbors left and I started to clean up the kitchen. Later that evening, I was watching TV in the living room. My father walked in, turned off the TV and sat down beside me. He told me that Mr. C and his sister witnessed one of the craft on the same night that we had our encounter. As well, they witnessed several of the large hairy creatures meandering in the nearby woods. Mr. C said that he knew something had been in the woods for several weeks but never got a good look until the craft arrived. After that night, we never had another encounter or did we hear of more sightings by any people in the area.

Do you think that these creatures were Bigfoot, aliens or one in the same? I has always seemed strange to me that a Bigfoot body has never been found. Is it a possibility that Bigfoot is an extraterrestrial being? Thanks, Donald

Bigfoot Encounter in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin

I received a telephone call on January 20th from the witness NH near Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin:

NH states that he had just returned home from work, about 11PM CT (local time) on Tuesday, January 29th. At the time there was approximately 10-12" of snow on the ground and the temperature was in the -30s F. The first thing he did when he arrived home was to take his Golden Retriever out.

As NH and his dog walked along the street, the dog soon reacted violently to a large upright being crossing the street ahead of them...maybe 75 yards away. The 8+ ft. being was massive and was walking quickly, passing under a streetlamp when it reached their side of the sidewalk.

NH noticed that it was hair-covered, but could not make out any details other than a cone-shaped head and that it had very wide shoulders. The dog continued to react with incessant barking, prompting a neighbor to turn on their porch light.

NH was confused by what he witnessed and asked me if a Black Bear could have been that large and able to walk like a human. It does seem that he encountered a Bigfoot in his neighborhood. Lon

A Horse-Man

Derek in Massachusetts called in to tell of a weird creature his friend saw:

“I got a quick sighting. My boss, we're at work right now, I called for him a couple times during like a UFO episode. I'm pretty sure he lives in a hotspot. It's right next to a reservation land, or a conservation land that used to be a military shooting range in the civil war and he's the last house in the cul de sac so his yard is right next to the woods. And I believe it's a portal. And one day this past summer, he had lit a fire around duskish, when the sun went down and he turned his head and he saw this little, like, 3 or 4 foot, naked, hairy, like, feral child or like a little gremlin type thing and I know you were talking earlier tonight about a horse-man but he had like shaggy hair. Then his hair went back down his neck like that, like a horse-man, almost, and he was kind of hunched over. And he kind of galloped off and when they checked the footprints, there was no footprints.”

Earlier Eyewitness To Prairie Creek Reservoir Winged Humanoid Comes Forward

I received the following email on Sunday, January 27, 2019 in reference to my post Large Flying Humanoid Observed Near Prairie Creek Reservoir, Indiana:

My husband was on Facebook and saw this article that you wrote and immediately showed it to me because I am certain this is the creature I saw 8 yrs ago in 2011 around this same time of year (winter) when I was on my way to work.

The events unfolded as such. I was driving down Rd 1 in between 400 and 500 S. Now this location is in Randolph County just ten to fifteen minutes kind of east from Prairie Creek Reservoir. This is why the article caught my husband's attention from the beginning. Anyway, as I was driving I saw what appeared to be a human crouched down in the road. As I got closer and the more I slowed down it did not move, so I was at a complete stop. This thing slowly turned its head to look my way and it had greenish yellowish-like eyes, like the color of cat eyes. It stared for maybe three seconds and then proceeded to slowly get up from its position, like a human would stand up because it had legs. It turned towards my car. It stepped on my car and used it to take off. Then it lifted off like a glider towards the sky. I turned my head just in time to see it tuck its legs into its body, so it did appear as a bird in flight...kind of. Its wingspan was wider than anything I've ever seen on an animal in my life.

I told my husband what had happened and he told me it had to have been a bird...until he saw this article.

I've never said anything to anyone else in fear that I would be made out to be an idiot. I also would still like to maintain my privacy as I do not want any public attention from this as I have a young daughter and do not want her to be bought into it either. I hope you'll maintain my privacy as well and keep my involvement just a witness as you did the other witness in your article. RP
