Bigfoot Confronts King George County, Virginia Resident in Driveway

A Virginia resident's sense of reality dramatically changed when he had a face-to-face encounter with an 8 ft. tall Bigfoot
I recently received a telephone call from 'TA' who was quite disturbed and nervous about reporting an encounter he had the night before.

TA is a property owner in Dahlgren, King George County, Virginia and has lived in the general location all of his life. The property consist of 70+ acres of woodland and field.

During the past few months, he and his family have noticed a variety of noises emanating from the thick woods surrounding the property. TA states that he picks up his wife from work and that they arrive home around 11 pm. Many times they have heard loud 'knocking sounds' as well as retched screams. The screams are terrifying and seem to involve an animal suffering great pain. TA's son has also been complaining that he has heard these screams in the morning while he waits for the school bus.

In recent days, there have been indications that something unknown was lurking in the woods. One evening TA stepped out onto his back deck as he was followed by this 3 Pitbull Terriers. Right away the dogs sensed alarm and all 3 stood silently still while watching the woods. Within seconds they tucked their tails between their legs and scampered back into the house. As TA stood surprised by his dogs' reaction, he heard a loud 'snap' that he said, 'sounded like a small tree was literally broke in half!'

TA believed that there had to be a rational explanation for the sounds. He has never believed in the paranormal or cryptid beings. He has been a hunter most of his life and knows the wildlife in the area. He was skeptical of claims about Bigfoot and other unexplained phenomena. That is until he had his own frightening encounter.

TA was driving home around 11 pm and about to turn onto his driveway from the main road (Kings Hill Rd). As his headlight swept across the tree line that bordered his driveway, he was shocked by a huge pair of wide-set eyes that has a greenish eye shine tint. The height of the eyes was at least 8 ft. from the ground and the form of this anomaly was biped and humanoid. The color of the body was reddish brown. He quickly proceeded up the driveway, parked his car and ran into the house.

The next day, I received TA's phone call. His confusion and distress were quite apparent as we talked. He is facing the reality that these creatures do exist and that at least one has been roaming his property. I assured TA that it was fine to contact and update me if the activity continues. Lon

Possible Bigfoot Frightens Family at Laurentians, Quebec Campground

A Quebec family travels to a national park in order to go camping and to enjoy the outdoors. They soon discover that a beastly night awaits them. Was it a Bigfoot?

"In the beginning of September, 2014, my husband and I, along with our 26 year old son and his pitbull, were camping in the Laurentians in Quebec at a campground called "Camping Lausanne." It is close to a national park, I knew there were a few reports of Bigfoot sightings in the national park nearby.

We had been camping in our 32-foot Winnebago there for two days and everything was going well. It was a weekday and there weren't many other campers on the grounds.

Before bed around midnight, my husband had to use the bathroom and instead of using the camper bathroom he went to the public bathroom. He was gone for at least half an hour to 45 minutes. I started to worry about him but I didn't go looking for him. It was quite dark. I did ask him not to be wandering around at that hour in the dark of the countryside. He had stopped to smoke a cigarette outside the campsite washroom, then slowly made his way back to the camper. He got back at about 12:30am. At about 1:00 am everyone was sleeping and I was in bed reading.

Out of nowhere there was a loud thump on the side of the camper. The thump was very loud and it hit right beside the window on my side of the bed. The camper rocked like it was pushed, it rocked three times and stopped. It scared the hell out of me. No one woke up, and the dog didn't bark. I quickly woke my husband and whispered to him what had happened. My heart was pounding from fear. He's a hard sleeper so he said he didn't feel a thing. The window is about 8 feet above the ground. Whatever hit the side was tall and strong enough to rock the whole camper.

I turned out the light, so I could see outside. Slipping the curtain aside carefully I looked out the window and saw nothing. My husband said it was probably the wind. But there was no wind at all and it was quiet. It was completely dead air. He then said it was probably a raccoon. If it were a raccoon, I'd have heard it rustling around and how would have reached up beside the window to bang on the outside wall. I'm not stupid and have camped my whole life coming across many raccoons in my time, as well as deer and fox, and once even a bear. My husband went back to sleep after checking things and looking outside the door and the windows. There was nothing there, and he admitted there was no wind at all and it was dead still air that night.

Approximately 20 minutes later there was another hard, loud punch or bang on the Winnebago outside wall, again in the same area about 8 to 9 feet off the ground. And it actually rocked the camper and my husband sat up in a shock, and it kept rocking the camper, probably about 10 times. My husband said why is it not stopping and then it stopped. I don't think I've ever seen my husband scared like he was that night. He wouldn't even open the camper door to inspect outside and he closed off all of the lights. He admitted that it wasn't the wind.

Then he said it could have been a raccoon, but how could it reach the window and why would it bang on the camper like that? We talked and rationalized for awhile after another hour of waiting to see if it would happen again, we went asleep. We couldn't figure out why there were no sounds of hooves if it were a deer or breaths and snorts from a bear, or rustling from a raccoon foraging around for food. It was dead silent, no footstep sounds, no rustling grass or leaves, no foraging noises, nothing. Then we thought, why didn't the dog bark? I kept listening and listening because we had the window open since it was pretty hot out. But we decided to close them in case it was dangerous. We thought it could have been people trying to scare us, prank us or Rob us, so we locked everything and closed the windows and blinds.

We didn't have anymore occurrences that night. We stayed for two more nights. Nothing like this had happened again, it was just that one night.

The next morning we were telling our son and I texted my brother, who is an avid Bigfoot researcher. We didn't leave, but the next morning I tried to reach the spot outside the Winnebago where it was banging and being rocked. I'm 5' 4" and I could not reach that height even on my tippy toes and with my arms out reached. So I estimated it was about 8 or 9 feet high. Then I tried to rock the camper the way it was being rocked and I realized I couldn't even budge it, so I asked my husband to give it a try, he couldn't do it either, it wouldn't budge. Whatever rocked the camper was very strong. Strong enough that while I was in bed my body was swaying back and forth like I was in a boat on wavy waters.

So, I think that cancels out the possibility of it being another camper playing a trick, or a raccoon. Still, if it were a deer, we'd have heard it trampling around a little, and a bear makes noise too, it was so quiet. Eerily quiet. When we discussed it again the following afternoon my husband admitted that it was unusual, and it certainly wasn't the wind. I think that since he went to the bathroom so late at night he could have been spotted by a Bigfoot, and followed back to the campsite. It shook the camper to get us to come out and possible abduct or harm us. We were both pretty shook up. We won't camp there again.

I wanted to write to you earlier but of course fear of being judged and not believed, we didn't tell anyone and left the campground feeling like we experienced something unusual and fearful, yet there wasn't much we could do about it. There were no tracks and nothing was out of place the next morning. Even thought we had left things, like dishes and our lantern, an ashtray on our campsite picnic table and nothing was disturbed." Yellow-Eyed 'Glimmer Man' Entity Observed by University of Florida Student

A college student and her dog encounter a yellow-eyed entity that was only familiar to her from a science fiction film. 'The Glimmer Man' is seen again! What is this bizarre entity?

"My name is Malory and I would like to share with you a terrifying experience I had back in 2002 while I was in college. Back then I was in my 2nd year at the University of Florida and was living in an apartment with a girlfriend of mine, also a fellow student in the city of Gainesville, Florida. We lived the typical college life. We went to class most of the time, studied, hung out with friends and would attend the occasional party on the weekends. We were two broke college girls, so we didn’t have the funds that a lot of our friends did. So when we had free time we would look for things to do that didn’t cost much. We would go to the movies, bowl, go to flea markets, yard sales and hiking in some of the local parks. This was one of my favorite activities. I love the outdoors and it’s great exercise.

We had a dog named Toby. He was a Golden Retriever and has since passed away. But back then he was a great and loving dog, who loved to hike with me. So we went a lot, probably like 3 times a week. Anyway, our favorite spot to hike was the Gainesville-Hawthorne State Trail. It wasn’t that far away and was like a 16 mile hike if you did the whole thing. We only did that like 3 times. Most of the time we would hike around 5 miles. It’s a beautiful trail with lots of trees covered in Spanish Moss, swamps and wildlife. The trails are paved and there are bridges, observation decks and loads of cool things to see. The woods are very thick and dense, once off trail you can only see about 35 yards into the woods.

Well on this particular day me and Toby were about 4 miles into the trail. It was a weekday around 11:00 am, so there were very few people. At the time of our encounter there was no one around, just me and Toby. As we were walking, I was just looking around as we hiked, you know just looking for wildlife, enjoying the sun and mother nature and all of her beauty. When, all of a sudden Toby froze! He saw something, he just stood there with his ears perked up, his tail was sticking straight out and he was staring into the trees. I assumed he saw some birds or something else in the trees. So I asked him, “What do you see Toby? What is it boy?” He didn’t bark but I could tell something had caught his attention. While he continued to stare, I started looking in the same direction as he was, trying to see what he was looking at. At this point Toby’s demeanor started to change, his tail went from sticking straight out to now lower between his legs. He began to whimper a little and started pulling on the leash like he wanted out of there. I continued to look into the trees trying to spot whatever was scaring him and that’s when I saw it!

It’s very hard to describe, but this thing looked clear but not quite. It was in the shape of a human meaning that it had a head, torso, two arms and two legs but was see through. The thing that stood out the most was the glowing yellow eyes! That was the only thing that wasn’t clear. As crazy as it sounds, this thing looked like the alien in the 'Predator' movies whenever it is cloaking itself! It was standing on a large tree branch hanging on by it’s right arm and was looking directly at me and Toby! It slowly began to crouch down and tried to hide behind the trunk of the tree. Like it noticed us noticing him. I don’t know why I say him? I absolutely have no idea the sex of this strange creature. If that's what you want to call it. It tried to hide, like I said but you could still see portions of it behind the tree. I was frozen, I was mesmerized by this thing. I was just staring at it trying to figure out what it was. I didn’t want to take my eyes off of it in fear that I might lose sight of it. This thing was so damn camouflage. If I looked away, I might not be able to find it again. So I just stared, ignoring Toby and his wimpers. Then it moved, it swung through the trees effortlessly and made almost no sound. It would move to a few trees and then freeze, look back at us, I guess to determine if we were watching it or not. I got the feeling this thing did not want to be seen. It would move, then freeze, crouch down and put itself between us and the tree it was in. It would sit there for a few minutes and then move again. I wanted to follow it, but everything in my body said NO! So I just watched it and it eventually disappeared into the forest.

Toby and I jogged back to the car and I never told anyone about what we saw. To this day I don’t know what we witnessed. Was it an alien? Or was it something else? I don’t know. I was scared the day it happened but at the same time elated! Toby and I went back there numerous times and I’m not going to lie, I hoped to see it again, but never did. I thought that I was the only one who had this type of encounter until I heard you guys covering “The Glimmer Man!” I saw it, I saw “The Glimmer man.” I now tell anyone who will listen, of course some people think I’m crazy, but I don’t care. I feel lucky that I got to have an experience with the paranormal, with the unknown. I think the universe is way more complex than we think and that there are things out there we can’t explain and that’s okay. I like it that way." Mallory

Bigfoot 'Family' Seen Near U.S. Army Fort Knox, Kentucky

A firefighter recalls an incident near U.S. Army Fort Knox, Kentucky when he and a colleague observed a Bigfoot family group

"I came across your website and want to share what I experienced about 15 years ago. I lived in a rural area southwest of Louisville, KY. I was a firefighter for a small volunteer department. We got called by the fire department on Ft. Knox Army base to inform us that there was a fire heading north out of base towards our district. I was in a 4x4 field unit going along a dirt road on the inside of the border.

When we came around a bend it was smokey BUT you could easily see something standing in the middle of the road looking towards us. We were 150-200 ft away when it let out a deep and I mean deep bellow grunt. Then I saw a medium size creature step out of tree line with two smaller ones. The 'family' group of Bigfoot quickly rushed north over the fence and out of site. The first one was 7-8 ft tall matted brown/black hair. Weight unknown. The medium size was definitely a female due to the way it acted towards the little ones. It was easily 6.5 ft with a slender build. The small ones were 5-6 ft tall and skinny.

The area north of where we saw them has MULTIPLE areas for them to hide. With hills and forest and valleys all over the area. The firefighter I was with agreed to not mentioned it to the department. I have in the years since heard of other encounters with in a 10-15 mile radius of the area." JBB

"Good day, I got your information from a member of a paranormal forum. I have a lot of info.

Long story short, the creature in question tried to kill me and has stalked me across Canada, red eyes as I call whatever the being is.

I first saw red eyes when I was 13 in an old sand pit located in Coldbrook Nova Scotia. It was night, the being stood on hind legs about 8 ft tall, I was a good 200m away from where it stood, this was around September of 99, that Dec, I was in the same pit sledding, my friend went to get his wheeler for light, after he left I sat by a fire with his rotti angel, who I swear saved me.

She began to growl at the wood line, then those turned to barking, and I could hear trees falling as something rushed toward me. At that moment, it felt like someone with big strong hands grabbed my shoulders and lifted me to my feet, and shoved me toward the path out of the pit. I out ran the dog (thank God I was in track), and got back to the subdivision after I reached the street light, I looked to see if I was still being chased, luckily I wasn't.

The being was pacing the tree line, I could see it's outline, it was on all fours, with long appendages, and red eyes that seemed to have a dull glow of red, which seemed abnormally far apart...almost like a dog with eyes almost to the sides of the head." TM

'Glimmer Man' Witnessed by Georgia Deer Hunter

A Georgia deer hunter encounters, what is now referred to as, 'The Glimmer Man.' This phenomenon continues to be reported in a variety of situations, usually leaving the witness frightened and confused. What is it?

"This is a strange encounter I had years ago in Georgia. Mind you I’ve only told my brother and wife about this encounter and it took place 41 years ago! So here it is.

It was the fall of 1978, deer season in particular. I lived near a very small town called Suches, Georgia. It only has a population at that time of around 1,000 people. It’s in the southeast end of the Chattahoochee National Forest. I’m an avid hunter and I was hunting on public land in the National Forest just up the road from Suches in an area called Coopers Creek. I had scouted out the area during the summer, so late July early August. I knew where all of the game trails were, I knew where water was located which happens to be a small creek known as Bryant Creek. And I knew where all of the ridges and gaps were. I’ve hunted in and around this area for years and was very familiar with the area. Well when I finally located a good spot or at least a spot I thought would give me a good chance at a large buck, I set up my lock on tree stand in a tree about 12 feet off of the ground. I trimmed the branches to give me some shooting lanes and basically was all set for deer season. Oh, I was hunting with a 12 gauge shotgun. Rifle hunting is not allowed in the area.

So fast forward to early November. I had been hunting out of my tree stand about 6 times by the time this particular hunt happened. It was late afternoon, around 4:15pm. I wanted to get there earlier but work held me up. We had hired this new kid named Ryan and he was slowing me down all week. Anyway, this was a Friday, I finished up at work, jumped in my truck and headed out to my hunting spot. Now this was my normal routine for a Friday afternoon during deer season and my wife knew that I would not be home until around 8:30 pm and even later if I bagged something. I parked my truck at the trailhead and started hiking into the woods to find my treestand. The walk would take about 15-20 minutes. You want to walk pretty quickly but not run, you don’t want to make too much noise moving through the woods, you don’t want to spook any of the wildlife.

As I was walking to my stand the first thing I noticed was how quiet it was. I mean it was very quiet! I didn’t hear any of the normal chirping or singing birds, no insects, nothing and only a slight breeze. I thought it was a bit strange but continued on to my deer stand. I finally arrived and climbed up and settled in. Once I was comfortable, I jacked a round into the chamber, put the safety on my shotgun and began surveying the surroundings. Looking for anything out of place. Sometimes deer bed down during the day and you can spot their antlers above the tall grass and underbrush.

As I was doing this, I began to have this ominous feeling that someone was watching me. I don’t really know how to explain it, other than I had this deep feeling, deep within me, in my core, in my gut, something wasn’t right. Well, I tried to ignore it for a while, telling myself to stop being such a coward! There’s nothing out here but you, some deer hopefully, some squirrels, skunks and other little critters. As time passed the feeling only intensified, I kept looking at my watch wondering how much time I had left until dusk. “Should I leave early?” I thought to myself. “Of course not, a huge deer was probably only moments away.”

As I was sitting there arguing with myself, I caught movement to my right side in the trees. I slowly turned my head and began looking through the tree canopy and that’s when I saw IT! This is the part that still gives me chills, even writing this now freaks me out because I honestly don’t know what I saw! As I was staring into the trees I saw what looked like a large body builder but complete blurry moving through the trees. I could clearly see the outlive of the figure but the rest was blurry, Like I couldn't focus on it. It looked like a clear gelatinous blob but in the shape of a human, a large human. And whenever it would stop I completely lost sight of it. It blended into its background perfectly. I just watched it for what seemed like an eternity but in actuality it was more like 15 minutes. It moved through the trees effortlessly like a monkey or squirrel. It never really looked at me while I was watching it, maybe it was before and that’s why I got the feeling someone was watching me, I don’t know. It slowly moved off and I was scared about my walk back to my truck.

So, I waited for another 30 minutes, it was getting dark now and I slowly climbed out of my stand. Once I hit solid ground, I wasted no time. I sprinted all the way back to my truck. I jumped into the cab of my trusty Ford pickup truck and my lungs were on fire. That was the farthest and fastest I’ve run since basic training back in 1967! I just sat there in my truck and tried to regain my breath. I drove home and said nothing to my wife or anyone else for a few weeks.

As time passed I tried to convince myself that I imagined it all, that I dozed off in the stand and had some sort of dream. But I couldn't get the idea of that thing out of my head so I broke down and told my wife over dinner one night. She just listened and said it was probably my imagination. I later told my brother who said something similar, along the same lines. I never told anyone else and I never hunted in those same woods again. I never even went back for the tree stand. It was only like $300 and I didn’t want to go back there again, not for a measly $300 bucks. I took a break from hunting for about 10 years and then started up again but never in that area. I still wonder what I saw that day? I have no rational explanation.

Later in 1988 or so I saw the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie 'The Predator.' I couldn’t believe it, when I saw it. I jumped up and yelled at my wife “That’s what I saw”. That looks just like it! I don’t know if the writer had a similar experience as mine and that's what inspired him to make the predator cloak the way it did in the movie or perhaps he heard some other eyewitness account, but that’s almost exactly what I saw in the woods in northern Georgia in the fall of 1978. Mind you, not the reptilian looking beast with lasers, but the cloaked part. Like I stated previously, I thought I was alone until you did the episode on The Glimmer Man and now realize that others have seen it too. I don’t know if that makes me feel better or worse. Anyway, that's my story." James

Fortean Feature: The Kelly-Hopkinsville 'Goblins' Encounter

On the night of August 21, 1955, two Kentucky families claimed to have fought unknown beings. In a rural area of Kentucky, near Hopkinsville and Kelly, two families contend they battled extraterrestrial creatures. The event happened around the Sutton farmhouse, where the Suttons and the Taylors gathered for dinner. At some point during the evening, Billy Ray Taylor went outside to draw water from the well.

Taylor witnessed a huge, bright object land in the woods about a quarter of a mile from the house. He started towards the house with the water when he saw a strange creature approaching. Billy Ray dropped the bucket and ran into the house. Both he and Lucky Sutton picked up firearms and ran back outside. Taylor fired his .22 caliber rifle and Lucky fired his shotgun but neither weapon had any effect on the creature.

Sutton and Taylor described the aliens as three feet tall, with pointed ears, thin limbs, long arms and claw-like hands. They said the creatures looked like gremlins, hence they became known as the Hopkinsville Goblins. The beings were either silvery in color or were wearing something metallic. The strangest aspect of these creature was their movements.

The aliens movements seemed to defy gravity as they floated above ground and walked with a swaying motion like they were walking through water.

The two men returned to the house. However, another creature appeared at the window...the two families realized they were up against something extraordinary. They ran from the house, got in their cars and headed to Hopkinsville. There they sought help from police who followed them to the farmhouse and searched the area.

Although they found no evidence of the creatures, they did find that the farmhouse had been shot up by the humans during the battle. The police left shortly after, but the aliens returned and the battle resumed. The defenders' guns continued to have no effect. The Air Force investigated the event but could not find solid evidence.

At first, the public reaction was that the incident was a hoax. However, the Suttons and the Taylors never profited from the encounter and there were dozens of eyewitnesses to the event. In addition to the families at the farmhouse, there were law enforcement officers who saw strange lights in the sky.

In 1957, Air Force Major John E. Albert concluded that the case resulted from the witnesses observing a monkey painted with silver that had escaped from a circus. French UFO researcher Renaud Leclet opined that a pair of Great Horned Owls may have been misidentified as aliens. However, Dr. J. Allen Hynek believed the incident was real. UFO researcher Allan Hendry wrote "...this case is distinguished by its duration and also by the number of witnesses involved." Jerome Clark writes that "...investigations by police, Air Force officers from nearby Fort Campbell, and civilian ufologists found no evidence of a hoax". Although they never formally investigated the case, Blue Book confessed to being stumped. So was Isabel Davis, one of the most skeptical of UFO investigators.

Many of famed film director Steven Spielberg's projects, like Night Skies, E.T. and Gremlins, were directly inspired by the Kelly-Hopkinsville events.

The Kelly-Hopkinsville Case: An Overview
August 21 - 22, 1955

The scene was a small farm outside of the Kentucky town of Kelly. Inside the farmhouse were eight adults and three children. The night was dark, clear, and hot. At about 7 PM, Billy Ray Taylor (a friend of the Suttons and owner of the farmhouse) came in from the well with the "wild story's that he had seen a really bright "flying saucer," with an exhaust all the colors of the rainbow, fly across the sky and drop into a forty-foot gully near the edge of their property. However, the Suttons did not take him seriously and laughed the story off as an embellishment of his seeing a "falling star."

Half an hour later the family dog began barking violently and eventually put its tail between its legs and hid under the house. The two men, Billy Ray Taylor and Lucky Sutton, went to the back door to see what was bothering the dog and noticed a strange glow approaching the farmhouse from the fields. When the light came nearer, they resolved what caused it: a glowing three-and-a-half-foot tall creature with a round, oversized head. The eyes were large and glowed with a yellowish light; the arms were long, extended nearly to the ground, and ended in large hands with talons. The entire creature seemed made of silver metal. As the creature approached, its hands were raised over its head as if it were being held up.

Understandably startled, the two men reacted by grabbing their guns: a 20-gauge shotgun and a .22 rifle. Withdrawing slightly into the house, the men waited until the creature was within twenty feet of the back door and then fired; the entity flipped over backward and then scurried off into the darkness. After a few minutes, when it did not reappear, they returned to the living room only to see another (or the same) creature at a side window. They fired through the window screen at it, and again the creature flipped and disappeared. Sure that they had hit and disabled the creature, the two men went outside to find the body. As they started out the front door Billy Ray, who was in the lead, paused for a moment underneath an overhanging roof. Just as he was about to step into the yard, those in the hallway behind him saw one of the creatures on the roof reach down a taloned hand and touch his hair from above. The people indoors screamed and pulled him back inside. Lucky Sutton rushed out into the yard, turned and fired pointblank at the creature, knocking it off the roof. There was another creature in the maple tree close-by. Both Lucky and Billy Ray fired at this one and knocked it off the limb; it floated to the ground and then ran off quickly into the darkness. Immediately, another entity (or perhaps the one that had been knocked off the roof) came around the side of the house almost directly in front of the group. Lucky fired his shotgun at point-blank range and the result was the same: no effect. A sound was heard as the bullets struck, as if a metal bucket lead been hit, but the creature scurried off unhurt.

Understandably concerned that their guns were apparently useless, the men returned to the house to join the frightened women and children.

The creatures generally moved in a peculiar fashion. The legs appeared to be inflexible and when they ran, movement was accomplished almost totally by "hip motions." Usually totally erect, when they ran off they bent over and moved with long arms almost touching the ground. The entities' ability to float was particularly evident when one was knocked off the kitchen roof and floated a distance of about forty feet to a fence, where it was knocked off again by a shot. While they did not appear to have an aura of luminescence, their "skin" glowed in the dark with the glow becoming brighter when they were shot at or shouted at.

Mrs. Lankford, the mother of the family, counseled an end to the hostilities. Despite the fact that they had been shot at a number of times, no aggressive action was ever proffered by the creatures. However, the children were becoming hysterical and the creatures kept returning to peer in the windows at intervals; by 11 PM the family's patience had worn thin and they all got into two automobiles and headed at top speed to the nearby Hopkinsville police department

After a half hour's travel time, the police arrived back at the farmhouse with the still-frightened family. The Hopkinsville police, the state police, and a staff photographer arrived to investigate the situation. A thorough search was made of the house, the yard, and the outbuildings. Nothing was found, and the tension ran high: When someone accidentally stepped on a cat's tail and it yowled, "you never saw so many pistols unholstered so fast in your life!" The searchers checked out the woods area but found nothing. One unusual item that was found was a luminous patch where one of the creatures had been knocked off and fallen to the ground. However, when nothing really extraordinary appeared, the searchers began to leave and by 2:15 AM., the Sutton family was alone.

The family had been reassured enough to go to bed and shut off the few lights. Mrs. Lankford was lying in bed watching the window when she noticed a weird glow; the glow was one of the creatures staring inward with its hands on the window screen. Calling quietly to the rest of the family, she remained perfectly calm. Lucky Sutton, however, grabbed his gun and again shot at the creature through the screen. No effect. The creatures continued to make their appearance throughout the rest of the night, never doing anything overtly hostile and only seeming to show curiosity. The last creature was seen at half an hour before sunrise, at about 5:15 AM

The next morning, investigators came back to search the farmlands during the daytime. Nothing was found even though some even climbed to the roof of the house to look for footprints. The press got hold of the story; besides the reporter who had accompanied the police out during the night, the local radio station and many reporters from other papers in Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee arrived at the Sutton house. As the news spread, the general public began to show up and cars were backed up for a considerable distance down the road from the Sutton farmhouse. Sightseers stopped their cars, walked through the property, in and out of the house, annoyed the family with requests for pictures and, in general, created a carnival atmosphere the upshot of which was to generally ridicule the family for having seen "little green men from space."


However, on that same morning, Andrew Ledwith, an engineer with the local radio station, decided to stop into the station for a talk with the chief engineer (it was Ledwith's day off). He learned of the happenings at the Sutton farm the night before and because of his interest in UFOs and his previous experience as an artist, he decided to go out and interview the family. It is fortunate that he did. The publicity became so obnoxious to the Sutton family that they later simply avoided telling the story and refused to cooperate (one notable exception was with Isabel Davis, who prepared the Kelly report for CUFOS). The drawings that Mr. Ledwith created on the afternoon following the sighting are illustrated above.

How can such a tale be accepted at face value? one asks. After all, the family itself was considered of "low social status" by the townspeople. Two of the men had worked for a carnival; it could be argued that they were familiar with the art of the trickster.

The most telling criticism of the incident, however, is that there is absolutely no physical evidence whatsoever that the incident actually occurred. Skeptics point out that no footprints were found (the ground was extremely hard), no marks were on the roof (although the creatures seemed nearly weightless and may not have left marks), there was no blood on then, the bullets did no apparent damage), et cetera. One could thus conclude that the family "faked" the entire incident.

However, investigators who interviewed the Suttons afterward painted a picture of them that is quite different from the sort of people who could fabricate an elaborate hoax: They were uneducated, simple farm folk with no apparent interest in exploiting the rather considerable publicity that they engendered.

Did "creatures" really visit the farmhouse in Kentucky on that night of August 21, 1955? Or did the many witnesses, mostly adults, excite themselves to the point of exaggerating some lesser stimulus? The Kelly/Hopkinsville case still stands as one of the more provocative CE III events to date. - Allan Hendry, CUFOS

"What specific example of an entity case would you cite as fairly credible and why?"

"Well, naturally, I would elect the Roswell case, but the aspect of it from the military end. Edwin Easley, Patrick Saunders, et. al. because of their credibility. If we go beyond that I kind of like the Kelly-Hopkinsville report from 1955, but only because of the number of witnesses and the physical evidence involved. That is, the number of holes that Kelly (sic) and friends shot in the house in their attempt to repel the alien creatures. "As my eyes fell on the demon drawings in Plancy's Dictionaire infernal (1863), I was struck by their similarity to the famous 1955 Kelly-Hopkinsville UFO case. Imagine the demons as gray in color, and they would also fit the description of the ubiquitous grays in recent abductions."

"There are many in the UFO field (as well as various religious leaders) who believe that the creatures associated with UFOs are demons. The similarity of some demons to the grays of UFO reports are probably no coincidence."

Karal Ayn Barnett:

In "The Kelly-Hopkinsville Incident - An Historical Review", 1998:

"Based on my experience of the region, I would testify to the fact that no one in that area would consider making up anything remotely like what the Suttons and Taylor said they saw. The residents of southwestern Kentucky are people who even now are largely religious, and (I mean on disparagement) conformists. To make up a story like this, one would run the risk of being branded as insane or a congenital liar with a pox on their family to boot. The ridicule, the contempt, the ostracism, the media circus - no one wold risk it. It just wouldn't happen. Unless it really happened."

"Not to put too fine a point on it, but small town Southerners are cloistered away, and in a sense, protected from other cultures, not just alien ones. Southerners don't venture far from their homes, usually, and the constant interaction among the townsfolk tends to reinforce certain ideas. One idea that is profoundly reinforced is that there are no such things as aliens, and anyone who says that they are either bedeviled, bewitched or terminally bewildered. We need not wonder why the Suttons and Billy Ray Taylor moved from the area soon after the incident."

Excerpts from "Pencil-Neck Aliens" by Martin S. Kottmeyer.

"Aliens with long, thin necks are currently "in." Reports and drawings of these pencil-neck Greys seem to be everywhere. They've turned up on T-shirts, made for TV films - Intruders (1992) - and in dozens of magazines and books. The proliferation of this trait among contemporary aliens may be a telling indication that our taste in aliens is as subject to fadism as our taste in clothing styles.

One has to grant that pencil necks have more aesthetic logic than biologic sense. The slenderness of these necks undeniably lend elegance to present-day aliens and enhance their overall anorexic appearance. Propping oversized craniums on top of such skinny supports however raises concerns this species is whiplash bait. What business have such aliens in vehicles which legend has it have a benchant for bone-bending right angle turns and ultra-air-brake stops?

The pencil-neck is a strikingly recent innovation. Early studies of ufonauts Coral and Jim Lorenzens's Flying Saucer Occupants (1967), Charles Bowen's The Humanoids (1969), and James McCampbell's Ufology (1973) - say nothing about aliens with long thin necks. They certainly weren't common. I'm doubtful there was a single unambiguous instance of a pencil-neck alien prior to the Eighties. I've rummaged through the drawings of all the major cases - the Flatwoods monster, Kelly-Hopkinsville, Barny and Betty Hill, Herb Schirmer, Pascagoula, Charles Moody, Travis Walton - and they are nowhere to be seen. (...) They seem to arrive en masse in 1987 with no less than five drawings of pencil- necks in Budd Hopkins' Intruders and the very prominent example staring out from the cover the Whitley Strieber's Communion. These works were popular and influential to the degree that it is now part of the stereotype of the Grey as noted by David Jacobs in his abductee study, Secret Life."

August 22, 1955 article in the Kentucky New Era:

Kelly Farmhouse Scene Of Alleged Raid By Strange Crew Last Night; Reports Say Bullets Failed To Affect Visitors

All kinds of investigations were going on today in connection with the bizarre story of how a space-ship carrying 12 to 15 little men landed in the Kelly community early last night and battled occupants of a farmhouse.

Most official of the probes was reportedly being staged by the air force.

More than a dozen state, county, and city officers from Christian and Hopkins counties went to the scene between 11 p.m. and midnight and remained until after 2 a.m. without seeing anything either to prove or disprove the story about the ship and its occupants.

The farmhouse is located on the Old Madisonville Road about eight miles north of Hopkinsville. The property is occupied by Cecil (Lucky) Sutton, one of those who reported experiencing last night's phenomena.

There were some 10 or 12 persons at the house, including several children, but investigating officers were not able to determine exactly how many of those present actually clamed to have seen any of the little men from the space ship. Only other person who officers quoted directly was identified as Billy Ray Taylor. One account said Taylor is a visitor from Pennsylvania, which recently had a similar report of a space ship. Neither Sutton nor Taylor was at home when officers returned to the scene this morning.

The story broke around 11 o'clock last night when two cars, one bearing a Pennsylvania license drove up to Hopkinsville's police headquarters. Officers then at the station said the two autos contained at least five adults and several children. All appeared highly excited.

Spokesmen for the crowd told of how something resembling a space ship or flying saucer had landed at the back of their house near Kelly and 12 or 15 men, who appeared to be about 4 feet tall, had got out of ship and come up to the house and done battle with the occupants.

"We need help," one of the men said, "we've been fighting them for nearly four hours."

Four city police, Chief Russell Greenwell, T.C. Gross, Dorris Francis, and Gray Salter, drove to the scene to see about the "little men". By radio, contact was made with State Troopers R.N. Ferguson Jr. and G.W. Riley and Deputy Sheriff George Batts, all of whom joined the motorcade to Kelly in their own vehicles. Four MP's also went.

The radio discussions also brought two Hopkins County deputy sheriffs and at least three state troopers from the station at Madisonville.


First arrivers found the scene deserted. The two cars which had brought the report to Hopkinsville did not return to the Kelly farm until after officers had arrived and looked the situation over.

Officers reported they found no tracks of "little men," nor was there any mark indicating anything had landed at the described sport behind the house. There was a hole in the screen at the window through which occupants said a shot had been fired at one of the strange little men.

Both Chief Greenwell and Deputy Sheriff Batts said they got approximately this story from the still-terrified and excited Sutton and Taylor families:

About 7 p.m. one of the men went out of the house to get a bucket of water. He saw what looked like a flying saucer come over the trees and land in a field at a point about a city block behind the house. There was no explosion, only a semi-hissing sound, and the watcher returned to the house with the bucket of water.

A short time later somebody reported some little men with big heads and long arms were approaching the house. The men were described as having huge eyes and hands out of proportion to their small bodies. The visitors were wearing what looked to be metal plate.

The men got their guns, a shotgun for Sutton and a .22 caliber target pistol for Taylor. By and by, one of the little men pressed his face against the window and the shotgun was fired through the window. The face disappeared.

The men decided to go outside and see if the visitor had been hit. Taylor was in front and when he emerged from the front door, a huge hand reached down from the low roof above the door and grabbed him by the hair. He pulled away and the two men went on out of the house.

One of the strange little men was in a nearby tree, another on top of the house. A blast from Sutton's shotgun knocked another one of the men down but he did not appear hurt. He disappeared in the darkness.

Taylor reportedly opened fire on other member of the invading party, also with little effect. The battle went on for some time. When the occupants of the house saw their chance, they jumped into their cars and drove to Hopkinsville for help.

Deputy Sheriff Batts said the men told him that in all they fired up about four boxes of .22 pistol shells. The officer quoted a neighbor saying he heard shooting at the Suttons but distinguished only about four shots and mistook them for fire-crackers. Most of the officers remained at the site for more than two hours. During that period, there were approximately 25 person at the scene.

Only excitement during the period the officers were there came when an MP happened to step on a cat's tail while walking in the darkness near the house. The cat let out a squawl and for a few seconds there was much activity and scurrying around on the part of those present.

Two officers who returned to the Kelly area early this morning reported hearing that the "little men" had reappeared around the Sutton home about 3:30 a.m.

Other investigators who went to Kelly later during the morning said they were told Sutton and Taylor had gone to Evansville today.

Officers who visited the scene during last night's excitement were reluctant to express any opinion today in regard to the reported invasion of Kelly. All officials appeared to agree that there was no drinking involved.

Only outspoken comment came from Frank Dudas, city police desk sergeant, who was not on duty last night and has not visited the scene so far. He said, "I think the whole story is entirely possible."

Sergeant Dudas was one of two city policemen who reported seeing three flying saucers early one morning last summer. He said, "I know I saw them. If I saw them, the Kelly story certainly could be true."

NOTE: One of the most intriguing UFO / extraterrestrial encounters ever reported. In fact, it is mostly likely one of the first UFO cases I read...possibly in comic book form in the early 60's. Lon

'Big Black Birdman' Observed in a Chicago West Englewood Backyard (Photos)

A South Chicago resident hears distinctive footsteps on the roof of her 2nd floor apartment. As she looks out of the window, into the backyard, she is shocked to see a 6 ft. black bird-like humanoid with wide wings and clawed feet.
On Friday February 28, 2020 I received a telephone call from 'HS' who lives in the area of W. 62nd St. & S. Paulina Ave. in Chicago's West Englewood neighborhood.

HS states that on Wednesday February 26, 2020 at early dawn (estimate between 5:30 am - 6 am local time) his mother was awoken by 'footsteps' on the roof of their 2nd floor apartment. She looked out the window into the backyard and observed a 'big black birdman' landing in the backyard along the 6 foot fence. It was hopping and walking about as if it was chasing something. It then spread its wings and bound over the fence into the adjacent lot.

The height was about 6 ft compared to the fence and the wings were about 12+ ft. in width, judging by the width of the double gate (each gate is 5' 10" ft. wide) it was standing near. The wing shape was undetermined though it seemed to be broad and gargoyle-like. There were no distinguishable features on the body other than it was standing on double-toed clawed feet with a small appendage extending from the back of the foot (possible spur).

At the time and then later in the morning, HS was able to obtain photos of the tracks in the snow near the fence and in the backyard, as well as a line of tracks in the adjacent lot. He estimates that the length of the tracks are comparable to the length of a size 11 men's shoe and that the distance/stride of the tracks is 3-4 feet at the longest. Lon

China's Cryptids: Monsters, Humanoids & Alien Visitors

China's mythology includes a wide variety of strange beings. I suppose the real question is, are any of these legends based on fact?
HAIRY BEAST

Location/Date: Hong Kong, China - March 1955 - evening

Doors were barred in Hong Kong as the police searched for a hairy beast, said by terrified residents to be a shaggy animal over 6 ft tall. One man, a village gardener named Law Chiu had fought it and lived. The thing attacked him about 50 yards from the family temple. It was covered with long, shaggy gray hair. It stood upright when it came at him. He punched it in the stomach but the creature fell on him and they grappled for some time. The creature then went away, loping on all fours. Some time after that a woman saw a strange animal galloping past her vegetable garden on four legs, and as proof she exhibited large triangular footprints in the soft earth. They were unlike those made by a man or ape.

FAMILY ABDUCTED

Location/Date: Ping Wu, Szechwan Province, China - March 7 1987 - midnight

A family of three, including a young child was awakened by a loud high-pitched hum coming from outside their small home. All three went outside to investigate and were nearly blinded by a beam of yellowish light coming from a huge reddish orange object shaped like a straw hat that hovered above them, slowly spinning. The hum grew louder and all three had a strange floating sensation then blacked out.

They all woke up and found themselves strapped to three steel tables in a circular room. The woman began screaming then a tiny hatchway opened in the wall and five 3-foot tall humanoid creatures stepped into the room. They were human in shape but with featureless faces with three huge whitish eyes on their foreheads. Their skin appeared transparent and bluish in color. The creatures said nothing as they proceeded to remove blood from the arms of all three abductees. They then inserted long needles into their knees and ankle joints. The husband and the child appeared to have been in a trance-like state during the incident. Electrode like devices were taped to their skulls and the woman was again able to hear the loud high-pitched hum that they initially heard outside their home. One of the beings made an incision on the child's thigh that was immediately healed by a pencil like device that was passed over it. Moments later the room became dark and everything began spinning.

Their next conscious memory was walking on a roadside 7 miles from their home.

3 NIGHTS...3 ABDUCTIONS

Location/Date: Peking, China - May 1, 1981 - 9:00pm

The witness was sleeping at a hostel dormitory with many others when a voice woke him up telling him that he was going to be taken onboard an object. A small craft then entered the room apparently passing right through the wall. A beam of light shone on him and he was apparently then reduced in size and lifted up into the object, which left at high speed.

Inside the craft he saw a lighted circular chamber and was able to see stars through an opened porthole. In the center of the room there was a screen showing a constellation and stars. Seated at the screen was a blond young woman. She spoke to him and took him to a large launching area where many objects of different shapes and sizes were parked near a control tower. Later he was returned from where he had been taken from.

The next evening, the witness was again sleeping when he heard a voice inviting him inside an object. He was lifted up and taken onboard a craft through a porthole. Inside he met two "normal" Chinese girls and the blond woman from the previous encounter. They were shown a screen where they saw a series of images showing different periods of Chinese history, concluding with a view of the earth as it used to be. They landed at the "launching" area where he saw numerous human like beings. He found himself being transported through the air and then placed on a slab where he was given a detailed physical examination. He was later returned.

The brother of the main witness reported seeing a large craft like object that entered his room and landed on the floor. Several small men dressed in one-piece garments and carrying what appeared to be "surgical" instruments emerged. They laid the witness down on his bed and opened up his stomach. They sewed it back up and departed without saying a word.

The very next night, the witness was sleeping when he felt somebody push him. He opened his eyes and saw a strange man standing in front of him. The man was covered completely with short gray hairs and had two long fangs in his mouth. The being waved an arm and the witness floated up into the air and into a landed object outside the house. The witness was then taken to a large base where he saw many similar hairy beings that appeared to be engaged in repairing landed UFOs. While the witness was being brought back to his home a blond girl who he had previously encountered asked him several questions and he was also allowed to ask some himself.

CRASHED ALIEN CRAFT

Location/Date: Gobi Desert, Outer Mongolia, China - 1982 - unknown time

Chinese military units accidentally stumbled upon a crashed alien spacecraft in this isolated desert region. A retrieval team was summoned and the site properly cordoned off. Everything possible was done to avoid any information leaked to civilians and to other Chinese military sections. The craft was slightly damaged and abandoned by its crew. It was about 10 meters long and about 2.5-3 meters in diameter. Its shape was cylindrical, with a very durable surface. Sophisticated equipment apparently used by alien entities was found inside the cabin, with chairs for 2 or 3 entities. The cylinder was loaded upon a platform on a flatbed truck or railroad carriage and moved to a must secured underground Government research installation in a military range southwest of Beijing under the Taihang-Shan Mountains. The alien spacecraft was subjected to extensive study and research. Another UFO, which crashed in 1973, was also stored at the site.

NOTE: The Taihang Shan Mountains contain a network of underground tunnels for Chinese strategic missiles. Speculation is that part of that underground network is used to hide rumored crashed UFOs as well as remains of alien beings.

In January, 2005 in the area that borders Nepal, tourists returning from Nepal were talking about a possible UFO crash in that country. The talk was also rampant in Katmandu, capital of Nepal and other Nepali cities. The crash site is in the deep Himalayan border of Nepal and China. According to sources, the crash site may have been close to Mount Everest and is totally inaccessible from either side. The rumor is that the Chinese military was actively looking for the crashed craft. It is also rumored that the 'human-like' extraterrestrials were not allowing anyone to get close to the site.

Unusual activities and some tremors were felt all over the Himalayan regions from both the Indian and Nepalese side. Also UFO activity increased sharply in that area, possibly related to the supposed crash. It is possible that the crash was nothing more but a Chinese spacecraft. China had some secret military projects in that area.

In January, the weather is so inclement that is almost impossible to reach the area, everything is frozen over. According to some, it is possible that underground UFO bases in the region were damaged by the tremor and strange aftershocks were being felt since the huge 9.0 Richter scale quake in December 2004 in Sumatra, which caused the huge tsunami. TWO TALL SHIPS SAILING ON THE CLOUDS

Location/Date: Yugiu, Jiangsu, China - 1523 - daytime

A teacher named Lu Yu who lived in the village of Yugiu was standing outside his home under a torrential rain when he noticed two “ships” which were sailing on top of the clouds above some ruins across from his home. On the two ships “which measured more than ten arms each” he could see several tall men wearing each one a hat and multicolored clothing. They were holding a “pole” in each hand as the ships moved quickly overhead.

The teacher Lu Yu then alerted “ten well read men” who stood beside him to observe the phenomenon. The ships then descended over the teacher and the ten other men and took the men on board the ships. The multicolored clothed beings “then passed their hands over the mouths of the well-read scribes who could not speak anymore.” At this time other men appeared on one of the ships, escorted like a Mandarin and accompanied by a monk.

Some time later the ships flew away, through the clouds and were seen descending about a kilometer away near a cemetery. When the ships left the “ten well read scribes” were able to speak again. But five days later, Lu Yu died of unknown causes.

THE YEREN

The yeren, otherwise known as the Chinese wildman, is a hairy humanoid that is said to inhabit the dense forests of China. About man-sized, it has quite distinctive red hair.

The yeren usually sounds like a bipedal, more human-like version of an orangutan. It could be an orangutan that has evolved to fill a more ground-dwelling niche, with associated bipedalism and thus it ends up looking like a Bigfoot or missing link through sheer coincidence. Bipedalism has evolved independently in the ape family at least two times, so it is at least slightly possible that this has happened yet again with an isolated population of orangutans.

In some reports, yeren sound less like bipedal orangutans and more like standard an ape-like hominid such as Bigfoot. These reports typically describe a creature varying between six and seven feet tall, with a heavy, muscular build and anatomical features that lean more towards the human side than towards the ape side. Fur colors are also more variable, with less instances of red. Some reports in this category sound so human-like than the yeren is thought by some researchers to be a primitive species of human, such as a Neanderthal man.

THE CYNOCEPHALI

The Cynocephali exist in the mythology of Europe, India and China though there have been sporadic encounters through the centuries. The legends in the Chinese culture originally said that the Cynocephali resided somewhere in the wild lands west of Tibet and north of Persia (modern-day Iran). The Cynocephali were described as shapeshifters who could change from human to dog, but who always retained some animal features when they became human again.

If real Cynocephali exist, it is hard to decide what sort of animal they might be. It was once thought that these legends might be garbled accounts of baboons, monkeys with dog-like snouts. Further studies have suggested that the Cynocephali tales are actually based on dog ancestor origin myths from various tribes in the Chinese wilderness. According to these Western writers, whole races of people were deliberately killed because they weren't human, they were "really" monsters.

SEDUCED BY A ALIEN HUMANOID

She was three metres tall, had 12 fingers and braided leg hair - and she wanted to make love with him, Meng Zhaoguo said.

So the farmer from Heilongjiang and the robust extra-terrestrial seductress had intimate moments - while levitating - for about 40 minutes, claims Meng, who is the protagonist of what is perhaps China's best-known alien abduction report.

Meng says he was working outside in Heilongjiang's Wuchang in 1994, when he saw a metallic shimmering on a mountainside. He went to investigate, believing it was likely a downed helicopter, when he blacked out.

When he came to, he was confused and unable to communicate with other people. He had also developed an extreme fear of anything made of iron.

Later that night, the female humanoid visited him, he says.

"I didn't believe in aliens before I actually met them," he tells China Daily. "Seeing is believing. We cannot explain UFOs and aliens because our technology isn't advanced enough. But that doesn't mean such things don't exist."

He passed a lie detector test conducted by the police.

Meng said he met other extraterrestrials after that.

"The aliens showed me a piece of crystal through which I saw forests, icebergs and fossil fuels on the Earth.

"They told me about the current situation facing Earth's resources and warned me about the importance of environmental protection," he said.

The aliens also told him that the offspring of him and the female extraterrestrial would appear 60 years from when they had sex.

Meng's account is met with both skepticism and belief - not only by the general public, but also the country's growing community of ufologists, who study reports of unidentified flying objects (UFOs).

Chinese interest in, and sightings of, UFOs have been increasing, especially since one shut down Xiaoshan Airport in Zhejiang's provincial capital Hangzhou for about an hour on June 7, making world headlines.

The hovering object affected 18 flights and about 2,000 passengers.

There have been eight more mass sightings since, with the latest shutting down the airport in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region's Baotou city for about an hour on Sept 11, ABC News reported.

Unexplained sightings reported to the Beijing UFO Research Organization (BURO) have increased from about 100 in 2008 to more than 200 this year, says the organization's Secretary-General Zhou Xiaoqiang, who was also part of the Xiaoshan Airport investigation team.

"As material and cultural life improves in China, more people are able to use cameras to photograph and film the strange things they see," the 62-year-old says. "Also, media broadcasts are making the UFO a more popular concept in China, and the Internet makes it easier to file reports."

Zhou points out that sightings spike around festivals.

"That's because fireworks, lanterns, kites are everywhere. For example, a flashing triangular UFO could be a kite with lights," Zhou explains.

Zhou puts the chances that UFOs carry extraterrestrial visitors at "zero" and says there have been less than 10 abduction reports in the country.

Wang Sichao, a research fellow at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Purple Mountain Observatory in Jiangsu's provincial capital Nanjing, says China's UFO reports are "more credible" than those in other countries. And there are fewer abduction reports.

"The aliens that are reported here are all different. Some are humanoid, some have large heads and eyes, some conduct sexual experiments, some speak Chinese and others use a kind of universal language.

But the one thing all these claims have in common is a lack of solid evidence."

Meng describes the extraterrestrials he says he met - he had a second encounter with others after he met the female - as speaking Chinese.

"The aliens showed me a piece of crystal, through which I saw forests, icebergs and fossil fuels on the Earth," he says. "They told me about the current situation facing Earth's resources and warned me about the importance of environmental protection."

But that's not all they told him, he says.

"They said that 60 years from then, there will be an alien born with the genes of an earthling farmer, and I can meet him or her," he says, referring to the offspring he says he sired with the extraterrestrial female.

While many within China's ufology community are skeptical of abduction reports such as Meng's, International Chinese UFO Association sighting investigation department head Zhang Jingping believes people should remain open-minded.

"We have invented aircraft, and we have landed on the moon. Why is it impossible that aliens are visiting us?" says the 42-year-old. Zhang has led research on Meng's case, including arranging for police to administer a lie detector test, which he says Meng passed.

Wang says China has about 60 researchers and 10 NGOs involved in serious UFO studies. The country's ufology community was put on the map in 2005, when Liaoning province's Dalian city was selected as the World UFO Conference site.

American nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman, who worked on classified government projects for 14 years and is perhaps the world's most celebrated ufologist, told China Daily at the conference that, "ufology is blossoming in China".

He has since been "impressed" by the serious discussions in the country's press, he says.

"China's space program is moving rapidly, and so is its serious discussion of UFOs," he says.

"I am indeed optimistic that Chinese researchers will be making more contributions to our knowledge of this very important phenomenon - visits to Planet Earth by intelligently controlled alien spacecraft."

Be they unexplained natural phenomenon or the cruisers of universe-trotting ETs - or something else entirely - UFOs are unlikely to stop appearing over China anytime soon.

HUANG-DI, SON OF HEAVEN

Proponents of ancient astronaut theories often maintain that humans are either descendants or creations of beings who landed on Earth thousands of years ago. The most popular theory is that human knowledge, religion, and culture came from extraterrestrial visitors in ancient times. Ancient astronauts have been widely used as a plot device in science fiction, but the idea that ancient astronauts actually existed is not taken seriously by most academics.

Arguments can be made that the evidence for ancient astronauts comes from supposed gaps in historical and archaeological records, and they also maintain that absent or incomplete explanations of historical or archaeological data point to the existence of ancient astronauts. The evidence is said to include archaeological artifacts that are beyond the presumed technical capabilities of the historical cultures with which they are associated. This also includes artwork and legends that are interpreted as depicting extraterrestrial contact or technologies.

Notwithstanding these contentions, let us say that there is an axiom to the ancient astronaut theory. Then we need to ask, who were these beings? What did they represent to the inhabitants of earth? Where these beings the ancient Gods of antiquity?

I would like to periodically chronicle my speculation of how the native people interpreted these unknown entities. This edition describes Huang-Di, Son of Heaven.

Huang-Di (2697-2598 B.C.) is considered to be the first emperor of China and the ancestor of all Chinese. Huang Di, or the Yellow Emperor, is referred to as the "Originator of the Chinese Culture", and all people of the Chinese race regard themselves as descendants of Yan Di and Huang Di. According to many sources he was one of the legendary 'Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors'. Chinese scholars have argued whether Huang-Di was “real” or “mythical”. Depending on the source you use he has been described as a god-king, a mythical-king, a real king, a god-like-king, a “son of the heavens” or a half-god. Chinese history suggests that he was real but not human.

Many ancient cultures have kings and rulers that have descended from the skies and referred to as “Gods” and their offspring, as a result from relations to humans, as “half-gods”. Chinese accounts are no different in this respect. According to legend, before Huang-Di was born there was “a radiance from the great star Chi and the Dipper Constellation (Ursa Major)”. His conception was marked by a “thunderclap on a clear day in the skies”. Huang-Di then begins his unification of China and is also credited with being a culture-hero, having brought traditional Chinese Medicine (including acupuncture) to the country. His wife taught the Chinese how to make silk. He was said to live in the Kunlun-Mountains in the heart of Tibet. After he lived and ruled for over 100 years he is said to have prepared his “return to the skies”. Then a Dragon “descended from the sky and took Huang-Di away”. Some sources say that he did not die then but lived another 200 years in the Syuan Yuan stars (the Leo Constellation).

Huang-Di is also said to have authored a book called “Bai Ze Tu” which describes 11520 types of “shapeshifters, monsters, spirits, beings” in the Universe. This book is considered lost. Some sources also cite Huang-Di as having instructed Lao Tzu...the originator of Taoism.

Ancient accounts on Huang-Di refer to him as an inventor of odd mechanical devices. A machine called “the south pointing chariot” helped him win various battles. Another odd device which Huang-Di is supposed to have invented is described as “a tripod”. This “tripod” was 4 meters in height and “100s of energies filled its inside” and made “odd noises”. According to legend this tripod depicted “dragons flying in the clouds”. Furthermore, the tripod was set up at the “Summit Lake Mountain” and “had to be pointed at the Syuan Yuan star” (the brightest star in this Constellation is Regulus). This is also the star Huang-Di is said to be from. Apparently this “tripod” was also able to store data and has recorded the life and times of Huang-Di. Huang-Di’s “Dragon” is not described as some mythological creature but as a device to ascend to “the suns”...a means of transportation and more than three thousand years old.


The works on Huang-Di's life state that the dragon named 'Changhuan' covers an extreme distance in only one day and that any human who rides it can reach the age of two thousand years...a concept consistent with other worldwide legends and accounts of gravitational time dilation in regards to these “vehicles of the Gods”.

When the Huang-Di reached the age of just over a hundred years, he arranged his worldly affairs with his ministers, and prepared for his journey back to the Heavens. The close of his long reign was made glorified by the appearance of a phoenix and a mysterious animal known as the Qilin as tokens of his administration. The life of Huang-Di is celebrated annually by the Chinese people.

What can be extracted from this information? The start of Chinese culture has always been murky...they are a remarkable civilization with an uncommon and mysterious history. If the ancient Chinese were helped by so-called ancient astronauts, it would not take away any of the skill and traditions they have left for subsequent generations.

Bigfoot, Yeti and a Hairy Giant

3 different hairy hominid accounts from assorted locations (Wisconsin, Maryland & Nepal) and diverse in detail. Each encounter may be distinctive from the other, but very similar in how this phenomena is perceived by the witnesses

“I read your site daily and have enjoyed the personal stories by your readers. I had an experience when I was a boy that I hope would be of interest.

In September 1978, I lived with my father on a farm in the vicinity of Shawano, Wisconsin which is very near the Menominee Indian Reservation. There had been some buzz within the community of an unknown large hairy creature spotted by two deer hunters not far from our farm. I had heard stories of the Manabai'wok or 'The Hairy Giants' from stories told by the Menominee, but I just considered these tales to be legends.

Then one evening, my father and I were coming home from the store and noticed what appeared to be two hairy creatures collecting squash from the garden. Each creature was at least 6 foot tall. It was dusk but there was enough light to clearly see what they were doing. My father immediately cut the headlights and stopped the car as we just sat there and watched them pick and eat the squash. They didn't seem to even notice us even though we were about 100 feet from them.

After about 5 minutes, one of the creatures looked in our direction and you could see it's eyes glow red from the moonlight. We started to get scared and decided to make a dash for the house and call the police. Then suddenly, a huge disc-shaped object appeared above us and slowly moved towards the east field which was about 200 hundred yards from us and landed. I estimate the craft was about 40 feet in diameter. A large sliding door opened immediately and a foggy green light glowed from within the craft. After a few seconds, the door closed and craft slowly rose and shot off towards the north. Then we noticed that the creatures were gone.

A few days later, our neighbors from down the road came over for dinner. After we finished eating, my father and Mr. Cain walked outside. After an hour or so, the neighbors left and I started to clean up the kitchen. Later that evening, I was watching TV in the living room. My father walked in, turned off the TV and sat down beside me. He told me that Mr. Cain and his sister witnessed one of the craft on the same night that we had our encounter. As well, they witnessed several of the large hairy creatures meandering in the nearby woods. Mr. Cain said that he knew something had been in the woods for several weeks but never got a good look until the craft arrived. After that night, we never had another encounter or did we hear of more sightings by any people in the area.

Do you think that these creatures were Bigfoot, aliens or one in the same? It has always seemed strange to me that a Bigfoot body has never been found. Is it a possibility that Bigfoot is an extraterrestrial being?” D

“I was on the way to the grocery store one day and I saw something standing upright against or behind a tree. At least it looked that way. It happened when I was crossing a railroad track and that was against a hill that had a sharp bend at the top. So I didn’t stop, fearing someone would come and hit me from behind. At the time I tried to tell myself that maybe it was a tree. So when I came back from the store whatever I saw wasn’t there anymore and I just can’t explain it."

It wasn’t the same color as the tree. That’s what made me curious. It was a light reddish brown with beige. Almost like the hair was 2-tone or something. The hair looked like it was in jagged tuffs that looked like it would look darker underneath if you lifted the fur. At the same time looked like you’d like to touch it (maybe that’s because I’m a hairdresser). I can’t explain what it was since I did not see a face nor did I see any arms and feet. But whatever it was, it was about 6 or 8 ft. tall from the ground to where it stopped about 6-8ft. alongside that tree. I did notice the part that I saw was a little rounded at the top as if suggesting a shoulder. It wasn’t another tree since nothing else in the area (tree or bush) was that same color. I wish now that I gotten someone and looked for tracks. It has rained 3 or 4 times now so I guess I wouldn’t be able to see anything. I may go look anyway. I don’t know if it could have been a Sasquatch or what it could have been, but whatever it was it was standing straight and tall and didn’t move."

I don’t know if the ole big guy (if that’s what he was) was passing by or he’s a local? There have been sightings to the south of us (Little Bennett Campground in Frederick Co.) and some north of us in Adams County, Pa., which is just around 12-15 miles from here. I’d like to see him in the daylight again if that’s what I saw. But it would scare me sh-less if I were to see him at night. I’m here by myself a lot at night and our dog wants to always go out. When she does, she acts like she is scared sometimes since she stays on the deck and looks. I sometime wonder what she is looking at. I know this may not be from your area, but thought you’d like to know. There may be others that come across your website as I have tonight with a similar story to tell from this same area. If so then maybe we have a local.

Thanks for inviting me to tell my story. I just had the need to tell you because now you have this story for a reference in case someone else comes forward and tells you their story. I will definitely keep my eyes open and let you know if I notice anything else. I kind of got the feeling that these things (if that is what it was) are very adapted to blending into their surroundings. It actually looked like it would have been soft if I were able to touch it. People go out looking for Bigfoot all the time. They go places where they think they will see him, and all the time he’s probably almost in their backyard. I have read that he will find you and now I believe that." JP

“During the Christmas break in grad school in December 1983-January 1984, I was part of an Everest trek. We weren’t going to summit-basically we hiked from a small mountain town airstrip to the base camp at the Khumbu Glacier where the real climbers take off from. It takes 10 days or so each way, with stops at monasteries along the way to adjust to the altitude.

It was winter in Nepal so most of the higher elevations were basically deserted. It’s very cold and rocky up there, not very inviting, but starkly beautiful. The pack train had gone on ahead to set up camp and we each just hiked along at our own pace until we caught up at the end of the day. It was mid afternoon and as I rounded a sharp corner in the tiny, narrow mountain ledge trail I encountered a creature standing on the trail in front of an ice fall.

It was clearly a primate of some sort. Not huge, between 3 and 4 feet tall. Thick reddish hair - like an orangutan - and with long arms. We just sort of looked one another over for maybe 10 seconds and then he turned, climbed up the ice fall (maybe 20-25 feet) and vanished over the top. I didn’t feel threatened by him at all, but was very impressed by his speed and agility-he just zoomed up the sheer ice face and was gone. He didn’t seem to be startled and fleeing, just moving on. It left me nonplussed for a few minutes, but eventually I resumed hiking. When I told our Sherpa guide about it, he said it was a yeti. Although his English was spotty, I got the impression there was a range of animals they considered to be a yeti, not just the Johnny Quest type abominable snowman we talk about over here. So whatever else is up there, at least in the early 1980s there were smallish apes with excellent climbing skills.” BF

Alien Abduction: The Night They Took My Sister

A boy realizes that his baby sister isn't in her crib, though he believes she is sleeping with their mother. Then a bright light appears and his sister manifests through a wall and is returned to the crib. What does he do?
The following correspondence was forwarded to me by an investigator in southwest Ohio. This incident took place in an area of Ohio from where I have received several unusual reports, including incidents with Bigfoot, winged humanoids and UFOs:

"In 1988 our family lived in a small apartment in a town in Auglaize County, Ohio. I don't want to give the location or our name. At the time, I was 11 years old and my 10 month old sister and I shared a bedroom.

One night while we were asleep, I noticed a constant droning sound coming from outside our window. It continued for several minutes, then eventually stopped.

A few nights later the same sound started. I looked at the clock and it read 3:24 am. This time, the sound continued for many minutes. I got out of bed and looked out the window. I notice a small bright white light high in the sky that seemed to pulse. I watched the light for a few minutes. It never moved except for the pulsing. Then it disappeared and the droning sound stopped.

The next morning I told my mother about the sound and the light. She said that she hadn't notice anything.

A couple of nights later, I was getting ready for bed. My sister was already asleep in her crib. I walked into the bedroom and noticed a weird odor. It reminded me of antiseptic cleaner. I looked toward my sister's crib and it was empty. I had been in the bathroom previously, so I thought my mother had taken my sister to my parent's bedroom.

I laid on my bed reading a magazine with the radio very low. After a while, I looked at the clock. It was 10:20 pm. I figured that my mother fell asleep and my sister would sleep with her. My father worked night shift, so occasionally my sister stayed the night with my mother. I was getting sleepy, so I turned the light off and laid down.

At some point, I was startled by a weird dream. I remember being frozen and not being able to move. I suddenly woke and opened my eyes. I felt very cold even though it was July and we didn't have air conditioning at the time. The droning sound had started again. I tried to get out of bed but was unable to do so. I felt very weak and disoriented. The droning sound was getting much louder and it was beginning to get a headache. I tried to call out to my mother but no sound came out of my mouth.

Then suddenly the bedroom started to fill up with white light. It was brightest above my sister's crib. As the light intensified I noticed something coming through the wall. As I watched, the form became visible. It was my sister floating above the crib in a prone position. She had come through the light and through the wall. Her body slowly descended into the crib and the light, as well as the droning sound, began to diminish. Instantly I regained all of my faculties.

I jumped out of bed and went over to my sister. She was asleep and seemed fine. I stood there by the crib and watched her while thinking if should tell my mother what I witnessed. I decided that this would be my secret.

Not long after that, we moved to a larger apartment. My sister and I both had our own rooms.

Now to the present.

Last week my sister and I got together at her home in Michigan. She has her own family and 2 great kids. As we sat in her living room talking, she started to tell me about something her 5 year old daughter told her. It seems that her daughter had an experience very similar to my sister's incident when she was 10 years old. I detailed to her what had happened to her. She looked at me and mentioned that she thought that she had experienced several abductions and that she had an odd encounter a few years back that involved a strange being that confronted her in her bedroom. She had no further recollection beyond that.

That's basically the story. I don't think that any of this has happened to me, but I'm not exactly sure.
