Bizarre 1807 Newspaper Notice: MONSTROUS BIRTH in New York City?

The following bizarre notice supposedly appeared in the New York Evening Post in July-August 1807. I wonder if this was a common practice at the time.

TO THE PUBLIC.

A report that a monstrous birth, bearing no marks of the human form, has lately occurred in this city, has within these few weeks been industriously circulated. The malignity of the infamous authors and propagators of that report, whoever they may be, has been carried so far as to fix the detestable charge upon a Young Lady of spotless innocence and merit--and, as if the villains were determined that the tale should gain belief, they have even affected to designate the Physicians who attended at the Birth.

We, therefore, who are the physicians so said to have given our attendance, and who have hereto subscribed our names do most solemnly and unequivocally declare that we have no knowledge of any such occurrence, or of any birth by the lady alluded to; and that from our souls we believe the report to have originated in the most diabolical malice, and to be totally destitute of foundation.

P.S. Attempts are making by the friends of the young lady, to trace the calumny to its source, for the purpose of inflicting legal and exemplary punishment; and a reward of One Hundred Dollars is hereby offered to any person who will give information of the original author or authors, so as to convict him, her, or them in a court of justice.

It may not be amiss to caution every person against propagating the aforesaid calumny, as, by so doing, they make themselves equally liable in law with the inventor. The peculiar nature of this case is such that the friends of the injured feel themselves justified in saying that they are determined to take every measure within their power to put a speedy end to so cruel and unprecedented a slander.

The printers of country papers, in whose vicinity the tale may have been disseminated, will vindicate injured innocence, and subserve the cause of justice and humanity, by inserting the preceding.

NOTE: The proffered retraction was not printed in the clip I read. I searched high and low for more information about this incident, but I could find none. During this period of American history, libel, and slanderous activity were prevalent, and the newspapers of the time weren't as legal-minded as they are today.

But on the other hand, could this be a case of 19th century Streisand Effect? In other words, it is the unintended consequence of further publicizing information by trying to have it censored. Instead of successfully removing the information from the public, it becomes even more widely available than before as a backlash against the censorship attempt. This was the case of Barbra Streisand's attempt to stop a website from posting photos of her residence. The full explanation can be found in Streisand Effect.

The word 'calumny' appeared twice in the notice. I had never heard or read this word before:

CRAWLER HUMANOID Chases Teens at Night in Linn County, Iowa!

"It was unusually tall and very skinny and lanky, as well as very pale. It was odd enough to see anyone out there at that time of night, let alone being out in a large field. It just didn't belong!"

I received the following account:

"In October 2015, when I was about 17 and living in Linn County, Iowa, I was out hanging out with my boyfriend at the time and one of his friends. Now, one thing to put out there, is that his friend was a pretty "outdoorsy" kind of guy. He wasn't scared of much, he grew up hunting and was always out exploring the woods at all hours. Living in a small town with a lot of parks and surrounded by wooded areas, there wasn't a lot to do so exploring the woods was a typical thing for really any of us to do. I never used to be afraid of the woods, until after this experience

This particular night, his friend decided that he wanted to go spotlight hunting (yes illegal, but we were kids and I had no idea). We drove out to an area on a gravel road in my boyfriend's car. There used to be a bridge that went across the river but it was burnt and eventually torn down so it was closed off and the end of the gravel had become overgrown with grass, weeds, and such. There's a tall bridge off in the distance, actually, it's a bridge our little town is very well known for as it has a lot of history. We were out there, miles away from town and from any houses. We found a place to pull over near the end of the gravel and my boyfriend and his friend grabbed the rifle out of the trunk and their flashlight. Me being an animal lover, I didn't feel like taking part so I chose to stay in the car. Before my boyfriend took off into the field, he told me to give them 15 minutes and if they didn't come back I could take his car and leave them. With that, they disappeared into the dark.

So there I was, sitting in his car. There was a metal railing in front of the car that we had pulled up to, which the guys had to climb over. On both sides of the car, there was tall grass, taller than the car. It was a bit spooky but I tried to keep my mind busy. I turned the radio on and waited.

15 minutes went by and they still weren't back. I hadn't heard any gunshots so I figured maybe they just weren't having any luck. Then, I get this weird feeling. The feeling of being watched. Enough to make the hairs on your neck stand up. I tried to play it off as my nerves. I look out my window to the right and I see the tall grass moving. I told myself it was the wind. I looked out the driver's side window, the grass over there stood still. I've seen enough horror movies to know that I didn't want to look out the right window again. Ignorance is bliss, right? I look down at my phone and do everything I can to not look up, scared I might see something I didn't want to see.

Then, something hit the back of the car. Pretty hard. I looked back, but with the tint and the darkness, it was impossible to see anything. So, I checked the locks to make sure I was safe and turned up the radio. The knocking on the trunk and back window continued on and off. At this point, it had been an hour since they left and I was hoping it was just them trying to play a joke on me. I knew I couldn't leave them out there, and there was no way I was getting out of the car, so there I sat, trying to ignore whatever was out there. The knocks soon turned to shaking the car. I shrank down in my seat and just kept my eyes on my phone. Waiting for the guys to get back. After about 15 minutes the banging stopped and I was left in silence for about another 15 minutes when I heard the guys yelling. I sat up, and flipped on the headlights, to see my boyfriend (who had never touched a gun in his life) running towards the car, cradling the rifle in his arms, and vaulting over the metal railing. His friend came running soon after. I unlocked the doors, and my boyfriend jumped in the driver's seat, throwing the gun in the backseat where his friend was scrambling to get in, yelling "Go! Go! Go!" He quickly backed out and off we sped down the gravel road. My boyfriend's face was filled with terror and he started yelling at his friend, "What the hell was that man?!" His friend is looking out the back windows terrified and exclaims, "It's following us!" I was both scared and confused. I kept asking what they were talking about, and what happened but they were too busy trying to calm down. We sped as fast as his car could go back towards town. Once it was clear we were safe, I asked again what happened, only to be told they didn't want to talk about it. Whatever it was, it had scared them more than I'd ever seen someone scared before.

We eventually get back into town, and pull up to his friend's house. We all just sat there in silence for a minute. Both guys looked almost paralyzed trying to figure out what they had seen. His friend finally spoke, admitting that after whatever they encountered, he was scared to even be home alone. Reluctantly he got out of the car, grabbed his rifle, and headed inside. I questioned my boyfriend for the next several days but he always just got a weird look on his face and would shake his head, like he didn't believe it himself. It was apparent I would never know, and I guess a part of me was okay with that, so I stopped asking and life went on.

Ok, so now, 9 years later. And I finally got the answer. Like most high school relationships, my boyfriend from back then has been broken up for a long time, and I'm actually married now with two kids, and one on the way. Well, it just so happens, that my husband had this guy start working with him at work. It took a couple weeks and "on-the-job stories" from my husband to realize that this guy was the friend of my boyfriend all those years ago. I decided to open up to my husband and tell him about this horrifying experience we all had back then. I suggested that maybe he text the guy that he worked with (the friend of my ex) and ask him about that night. He did and the response was not what I was expecting.

He got a reply, the guy explaining how that night haunts him. He told about how they were out in the field, not having much luck. They heard a whole bunch of birds in the grass suddenly take flight making a ruckus and gave the guys a bit of a jump. They went over to the area with the flashlight on and that's when they saw 'him'. He said it was unusually tall and very skinny and lanky, as well as very pale. It was odd enough to see anyone out there at that time of night, let alone being out in a large field lined with forest. He just didn't belong. He then went on to say that the weirdest thing about this guy, was his voice. It was very abnormal, and unexpectedly high-pitched, like a child. What did the guy say? Well, this is the part that still sends shivers down my spine. Apparently, he said, "You might want to check on that girl you left back in that car."

This friend described how they ran back through the field, across a ditch, and back to the car. He said they were running as fast as they could and this 'guy' was running parallel to them, but through the wooded area, a much harder route, and yet he was keeping perfect pace with them. The trees and terrain didn't slow him at all as they all sprinted back to me in the car. That's when we started speeding back home. He said when he looked back, he saw the guy step over the metal barrier next to the road. They had to vault or climb over it, but this guy stepped over it like it was nothing.

So here I am, my story has finally concluded after 9 years. Although I've tried researching similar encounters, I can't find anything. The only thing I know for sure is whatever that was, it wasn't human. I don't know if it was a ghost, a mystery of nature, or what. So I guess what I'm here for is to find out if anyone had heard, or had any personal experiences with something like this. I'm terrified to go back to that place, even in the daylight. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I would love to solve this mystery." K

Are We Being Manipulated By NON-HUMAN INTELLIGENCE?

I received a narrative from the submitter revolving around a theory that certain non-human entities may have the ability to manipulate human perception. What are your thoughts?

The following narrative was forwarded to me:

"John Keel touched upon elements of this during his Mothman investigation. I believe he was on to something important that I'd like to expand upon just a bit.

I think it is highly unlikely that any of what we're experiencing regarding alien beings, UFOs, and cryptids are "real" as we know things to be real. I believe that all of these are constructs that are made "on-the-fly" by some kind of entity, meant to be seen by us, and then dissolved when its purpose is fulfilled.

Also, every unexpected encounter with aliens or some other creature, where a person or group of persons stumbled accidentally upon some kind of activity by aliens or cryptids, was not an accident at all, but rather planned and executed like a stage play, the "actors" completely aware of the audience watching and the encounter conducted entirely for the human viewer(s).

So what's the purpose?

In my opinion, it's to allow for the temporary possession of a physical body. Please hear me out a bit further.

I've watched and read about hundreds of encounters over the last 20 years and noticed a pattern. It doesn't hold with every experience, but it seems to hold with a LOT of them, especially the abduction cases.

There seem to be two categories of "things" that folks see during an encounter. One I call "dazzlers." The other I call "frighteners." Both seem to serve the same purpose.

To appreciate this hypothesis in full, it's necessary to imagine that an entity can create at will, a physical object, have it perform a function, and then dissolve it just as easily as it was created.

The entities may also have the ability to manipulate human perception.

An encounter often happens in this manner:

A subject or subjects are traveling alone in an isolated area. There will suddenly be a "dazzler," which is an object of either indescribable fascination or something without a reference for the viewer, or a "frightener," which is a creature or being intended to instill fear. Some sightings are a combination of both.

But the purpose of either of these manifestations is to get the subject to focus on it intently, with the exclusion of anything else in the mind of the viewer. The viewer must become fixated and riveted on the inexplicable thing it's now witnessing.

That 100% focus is necessary, I believe, for the next step.

Shortly after the initial moments of seeing this "thing," and once the subject has focused on it intently, they report losing consciousness. I believe that it's at that exact moment that the subject is rendered unconscious by the entity that created the illusion, as this focus is a necessity to subvert the subject's consciousness.

The entity then occupies the subject's physical body.

To do what, I do not know.

But after the entity is either done with its intended action or is ejected by the dominant personality, it leaves the unknowing host.

I also believe the relatively recent phenomenon of recalling abductions under hypnosis is a false recollection implanted by the entity, as a further measure of cover.

If you think it through, the entire alien/cryptid zeitgeist is a perfect misdirection. If possession were the real purpose, humans would never suspect that is what's truly happening. A few odd creatures in the woods, some "alien" stagecraft, and manufactured objects soaring overhead will keep the distraction going for generations. The entities could continue unimpeded with their temporary "occupation" of any of us that they wish to target.

Of course, I could be wrong about this. But if I am wrong, then what we're left with are hundreds of different types of aliens, from lizardmen to Greys, to Nordics and more, none of whom have ever touched down in full view to a large number of us and introduced themselves. Rather, they've remained nebulous and shadowy. With not a single defector introducing itself to humanity to warn us, perhaps, of the ill intentions of its brethren.

As well as hundreds, perhaps thousands of odd cryptids such as helicopter-sized insects, various giant apemen, dinosaurs, monstrous snakes, animal-man hybrids, mermaids, and other inexplicable sea creatures roaming through the waters and woods, no remains or habitats of which have ever been found.

I believe strongly that we've all fallen victim to a flim-flam. There are no aliens or cryptids, but rather entities (or even a single being) with abilities and awareness beyond our own, easily manipulating us to disguise the true intent. As corny as it sounds, the true intent is possession." A

30 MEN IN BLACK & STRANGELY DRESSED MAN Seen at NYC City Hall on 9/11!

A witness to the 9/11 attack on the WTC eventually ends up near City Hall where they observe a strangely dressed man surrounded by around 30 Men in Black. Very bizarre!

The following account was forwarded to me:

"As crazy as this is gonna sound I saw these Men in Black on 9/11. I worked at the NYSE and after a few hours, after the planes hit some of us left the job to start trying to get home and get to some clear air. All of a sudden we heard planes flying overhead and we all ran in opposite directions not knowing if we were being attacked again.

I was then all alone and was from what I could tell by City Hall. By the City Hall steps were about 30 men all dressed in black with sunglasses on, their black suits did not look dusted with any weird debris. They were with a man who had his hands behind his back as if arrested. This man was wearing a white shirt and tie with a metallic purple vest and pants, and a lot of visible gold jewelry. He looked like he just come from the cast of a Broadway play.

Something wanted me to call out to them until I heard a small voice tell me, "Don't yell out to them." These men finally looked at me and one by one stepped in front of this man and all were looking at me as if saying to me don't look over here anymore.

Suddenly a police car pulled up, put me in the car, and took me to a bus on 68 Street where they were taking people uptown. I've seen strange things but damn this was more than strange. I was 30 years old when this happened." G

Mysterious HUGE PINK ORB Manifests Over Egypt

Images of a pink orb floating in the sky have gone viral after the unexplained phenomenon appeared over Egypt for several hours, and then disappeared.

The orb, which was viewed tens of thousands of times, showed a large object floating still in the sky, sometimes trailing white residue. It was first seen early Sunday morning, and several social media users were baffled by its appearance.

The phenomenon prompted several theories about what could have caused it, some people suggesting it could have been created by other celestial bodies, such as Jupiter. Initial reports indicated that some users thought the orb was the moon until it changed color.

"This is Jupiter. Apparently, it is correct that Jupiter enters between the Earth and the Sun after dawn," one sleuth wrote.

Another person wrote, on Reddit: "On last Sunday morning nearly at 6:30 a.m. many people in Alexandria of Egypt had seen a strange cloudy pink spot on the sky. Witnesses on average reported that at first it was white as the size of the moon, and most people had mistaken it as the moon itself, then it grew larger and later it diffused as a smoke very fast.

"One man explained as it was an explosion without a sound. Another one said that there were white lights in the middle of it. The phenomenon continued for nearly 5 minutes and has been seen in Alexandria, Marsa Matruh, Menofia, and even in Libya.

"Does anyone have a logical or scientific explanation for this? The images are from different sources on Facebook and X (Twitter) and no other international source has reported it yet..."

The Reddit poster added that it could have been created by a rocket launch, which would explain the white residue created by the image.

Similar images have previously been attributed to SpaceX rocket launches, which leave red-pink vapor behind as they leave the atmosphere. Rockets leaving the ionosphere can cause gas molecules to create an aurora effect, though it normally isn't as circular as the shapes seen on Sunday.

UFO SIGHTING Followed By REPTILIANS MANIFESTATION & REGRESSION HYPNOSIS

"Then all of a sudden there were 3 beings in front of my TV. 2 small ones and one tall one with a purple metallic cape. The tall one was very angry with me."

I received the following account:

"This all happened about 25 years ago when I was 16 and living in rural Price County, Wisconsin. I was mostly raised by my dad and he worked nights so I was home alone a lot. I do have siblings but they were all living with my grandma at the time.

We lived in a small ranch-style home. Since we didn't use our family room in the back of the house for anything I converted it into my bedroom. There was a sliding door and a deck off of the room.

One night I woke up at 2:25 am. I remember the time because when I woke up I was looking right at my alarm clock. I then rolled over and looked out the sliding glass door. I saw a bright white light above the tree line and thought that the star was really bright. It then started moving slowly so I thought it was a plane or helicopter. It then started moving really fast. Left, right, up, down at incredible speeds and angles. I wasn't sure what to make of it as it always stayed above the tree line and in my line of sight.

It then slowed down and started changing all kinds of colors. It turned red and split apart into multiple lights. I wasn't sure what was happening. It reformed into a single light and turned green but emitted a purple light or vice versa. But for sure those two colors. It then started to go in all kinds of directions again really fast.

I watched for about 45 minutes before I started to panic about school the next morning. Back then I didn't really understand the gravity of what was happening as I didn't know much about the subject at all. I fell asleep and the next day told a few friends about it.

I probably wouldn't have thought too much of that encounter if it wasn't for what happened next. As a kid, I always had sleep paralysis and frequent nose bleeds at night that were really bad.

About 2 weeks later I was in my bedroom. My dad was home and in the living room that was separated by a gally-style kitchen and dining room. It was around 8 pm. I was lying on my bed when I got paralysis. My eyes were cracked up and I could hear and see my TV. Then all of a sudden there were 3 beings in front of my TV. 2 small ones and one tall one with a purple metallic cape. The tall one was very angry with me. After that, I blacked out.

I didn't tell anyone about that except one close friend at the time. I thought I was crazy. But as I got older and thought about both encounters I knew something had happened.

In my early 20s, I started researching my experience. I was able to find the description of the tall alien I had seen and it was a reptilian. They have been known to wear capes.

I talked to a researcher. He told me they get mad when contactees share their experiences. I didn't really believe him as I still wasn't sure if it was all a delusion. But the prolonged UFO encounter prior made me think it was indeed real.

That night I had sleep paralysis and I could hear something whispering in my ear and it was talking about the researcher! It told me that his wife didn't even love him and I needed to stop talking to him.

Then when I was 32 I spoke with a MUFON hypnotherapist (Craig Lang) when I was living in Minnesota. We did regression hypnosis but I went back to a time I was 12, not the encounter when I was 16. I was on a craft in a dentist-like chair having a bright light shone in my eyes. There was a golden reptilian there and I did get a scary vibe from him.

We planned on exploring more but he died shortly after that session.

So that's my experience. And it really put me on the path of "conspiracy theorists." We are lied to purposefully about many things. I am not sure what they want. I just believe it's real. I told my mom who I didn't see much as a kid about my experience not too long ago. She said she never told anyone but when she was about 9 on her uncle's farm in Canada they saw a bright light come towards them. He told her to run and hide. She hides in a bathroom closet and doesn't remember anything after that. So maybe it's generational or something.

I do believe the reptilians are in control and they don't want people to know about them for a reason." W

UNKNOWN CREATURE STALKS Young Louisiana Man! ROUGAROU? VOODOO-RELATED?

"As I walked along the bank casting, the animal followed me, and where I went it followed. I was scared. I kept looking behind me, alongside me, in front of me, and this continued for 10 minutes."

I received the following account:

"Hi. I just turned 18 years old and am from South Louisiana. I had a disturbing encounter yesterday and it really spooked me. I want to add that I never believed in any of this stuff until today.

After work, I decided to go fishing for the remainder of the daylight. I went to a canal by my house that is located by a church. On my side there’s a levee that leads into a nature preserve and a highway, on the other side of the canal there are woods with a singular tree with a warning sign.

I have fished here many times with people. I was never alone but today I was. Every time we go to this spot we always hear a large “animal” running around in the woods and we always thought it was a hog and would wait for it to come out of the thick woods, but it never did. So today I got there and as soon as I stepped out of the car I got an eerie feeling but thought nothing of it, so I hopped over the gate and walked down to the canal with my poles. When I got there it was normal, just a few armadillos, birds, and other animals, so I started fishing.

About 15 minutes into fishing the feeling of a gaze sat onto me but it wasn’t a normal gaze. It felt as if I was being watched from all directions so it set me off. As always I heard it again, a giant animal running around in the woods. Then in the distance, I heard an ominous bark so I started to think it was a dog.

As I walked along the bank casting, the animal followed me, and where I went it followed. I was scared. I kept looking behind me, alongside me, in front of me, and this continued for 10 minutes. I reached a certain point along the canal where there were marks in the tall overgrown grass alongside the bank. Then I heard it, 'boom, boom, boom.' It was the distinct sound of a hollow drum being hit 3 times, and then the animal started to go crazy and run around rapidly. I was scared even more I started to fish my way back to where I left my bag, and then I heard it again, 'boom, boom.' The drum was hit twice, and I heard it run in front of me. I froze. There was a little opening in the trees, I saw the trees shake as the creature walked through the opening and looked at me. I stood there frozen. I was scared. I couldn’t see its face just a shadow and an eye staring at me. A black eye, too black, like a portal to hell. I started to walk as the creature turned away from me, and then I heard a singular drum 'boom.' It was quiet, too quiet. The birds stopped chirping. I ran, I ran as fast as I could, not looking back. I was too scared to. I got to my car and drove home.

I wanted to add that I’ve grown up here and there are trails at the patch of woods alongside the church with bloody dresses nailed to the trees, upside-down crosses carved into them, and baby doll heads with their eyes cut out. I need answers. Please tell me what this is, I didn’t believe in this until today.

I don’t smoke, vape, drink, or do any of that. I know I’m not crazy. What I saw today wasn’t human and sure as hell wasn’t an animal." T

Did An ANGEL Help My Grandfather?

"My grandfather tells us he went to the curb to try and wave down the man in hopes he had been walking, but he was literally gone, he even looked for tire tracks in the street and there was nothing."

The following account was forwarded to me:

"In August 2023, my grandmother suffered a serious stroke. Recovery was looking bleak. Out of the blue, seemingly major progress was made in her having a chance at mobility and speech again. During follow-up testing and scans, lymphoma was identified in the brain, and CNS lymphoma was confirmed. Within days she began treatment, and within weeks she was awaiting a hospice bed. Given where we are on the east coast, come November there was a decent amount of snow. My grandfather was doing what he could back at their house in between hospice visits and overnights. After a family visit to the hospice, my grandfather told us this story in awe of what happened to him.

Grandpa began to tell us that he was bored and wanted to work on the snow outside. (Mind you, he had routine snow removal services already occurring. He is just an old, stubborn man who wants to do what he wants, his way when he wants to). He told us that he was making progress but the snow still falling made it icy and he was getting tired. He turned off the blower and went 4 feet up back into the garage to grab the bucket so he could salt for the men who would come to clean up the snow.

He says that in the seconds it took him to grab the rock salt and turn back around he heard a man’s voice saying, “Hey, excuse me, sir” multiple times. He walked down the driveway and saw a single man holding a shovel, no work truck, no car on the road anywhere. He says the man asked him how he was, and what he needed. The man then insisted on shoveling for him, telling Grandpa he needed to take a rest, and that it would be no problem to clear everything out for him. My grandfather said the man was so insistent on doing it that he gave in, assuming the man would quit after a short while (it was cold and there was wind chill).

Stunned at the man’s kindness my Grandpa says he hurried into the house for his wallet, the man never mentioned money. My Grandpa wanted to show his gratitude and make sure the man could “get lunch” afterward. He then tells us that not even five minutes later when he returned outside, the driveway was finished, completely shoveled out, salted, and walkable. The man is nowhere to be seen. My grandfather tells us he went to the curb to try and wave down the man in hopes he had been walking, but he was literally gone, he even looked for tire tracks in the street and there was nothing. “He just disappeared,” he told us. My grandpa was truly stunned at this. I still am. None of us could think of a reasonable explanation for where the man went, who he was, or where he came from.

My grandparents were living in a small neighborhood, where nearly the entire block was elderly couples and everyone knew one another. There were never kids around playing outside, Halloween was just another day as there were never any trick-or-treaters. So yeah, no people less than like 60, and no kids. I say this because to us there is no connection anyone in the neighborhood would have had to this man? There was no sign of any vehicle around, and barely any footprints in the snow according to Grandpa. The man just appeared, then vanished.

As I prefaced in the beginning, my grandma was actively dying at this time and in hospice care. My grandpa liked to be at his house alone sometimes (he would kick us out lovingly at times) so the rest of us were not there 24/7 around the clock until shortly after this occurred, and through the passing of Grandma.

I understand that he was under immense stress and grief, coming to terms with things and so on. But I simply can’t believe this was just ‘too real’ of a daydream or something where the mind plays tricks on you.

To this day, he has never seen the man again. He cannot quite recall a perfect description other than he was “a really clean and strong looking man in just a single jacket out in that weather.” But he is certain that if he saw him he would know on the spot. Grandma passed a few weeks after his encounter with this man, and since then my Grandpa has inquired about the man with other neighbors who’ve come to visit and such, but nobody knows who he is talking about, nobody around him has visitors that say or someone who came to clear out the snow.

I have some feelings this may have been some type of safe encounter with an angel or something of the sort? It is hard to think deeply about this simply because the grief is still festering and it makes me emotional. But I would love any insight from someone who may be more equipped to analyze and understand this, or even knows of a similar experience." T

(VIDEO) MYSTERIOUS DRONES Reported Over NYC & New Jersey (But, Are They Really A Mystery?)

Mysterious drones have been spotted over Staten Island & New Jersey, and local politicians are now urging the federal government to help provide answers.

Staten Islanders reported seeing the bright-light-bearing drones in the night sky over the island on Thursday.

One such sighting was made by former Air Force Sergeant Walter Ziegler, of New Springville, who viewed the drones with binoculars from his apartment window.

Now, Staten Island politicians are seeking answers and flight restrictions over the borough. Rep. Nicole Malliotakis released a statement calling on the feds to identify the origin of the drones.

“Following reports of unidentified flying objects that appear to be drones flying above Staten Island, I’ve requested that the Federal Aviation Administration impose temporary drone flight restrictions in the area, in addition to requesting immediate briefings from the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Bureau of Investigation,” the Congresswoman wrote in a statement.

All of the sightings took place not far from the Goethals Bridge, near the island’s border with New Jersey where the drones of unknown origin have been seen since at least November 18.

Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella is also calling on the feds to identify these flying objects.

“We have recently been made aware of large, military-style drones flying over parts of New Jersey during the past few weeks. It has also come to our attention from concerned residents and within the media that these drones have now been flying over Staten Island during the past few days,” Fossella wrote in the letter, according to the Staten Island Advance.

“It is odd and quite bizarre that nobody can figure out who is flying these drones, where they are coming from, and their purpose. It has been reported that some of the drones may be flying without an active transponder, adding to the concern about their whereabouts,” Staten Island’s borough president added.

The drone phenomenon caused the redirection of a medivac helicopter flying from an accident in Somerset County, NJ, on Tuesday, November 26 — spurring the Federal Aviation Administration to issue two temporary flight restrictions over Morris and Somerset counties.

The flights over New Jersey are currently under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Governor Phil Murphy assured New Jersey residents the objects posed no threat last week.

The mystery crafts were even seen in the airspace over Trump National Golf Club Bedminster and a US Army hub Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ.
