Is It Possible That I Experienced An ALIEN 'MENTAL' ABDUCTION?

"I felt I was in a room somewhere in a different place. It was extremely bright but natural light. But it wasn't harsh light. The light was coming from outside, not the room."

I received the following account:

"Hi. I saw a UFO when I was a teenager. I'm 39 now. It was a very anti-climactic incident. I was home after school and noticed something reflecting in the sky. It was just a metal sphere pretty high up in the sky. It didn't move. I was looking around hoping someone else would be outside but no one was around. I just stared at it not really believing it could be a UFO. And then it faded into nothing. I had doubts after what I saw.

A few years ago, I had an encounter with an ET. Actually, several encounters. It's almost pointless describing this incident because no one believes it. I don't know that I would believe it if someone told me the same. My dog had been growing increasingly restless at night. As soon as I was about to fall asleep, she would panic and want to leave the room. I also have a security camera outside that room that stopped working inexplicably. I thought the panicking might have been a health issue so I took her to a neurologist and they didn't find anything.

One night, she panicked so badly that I let her leave the room. Later on that night, I woke up and saw an ET standing across from me. It was maybe 10 feet away. It was not sleep paralysis. I was sleeping on my right side and turned forward to get up and saw it. It did not move and I got the impression immediately that I was not supposed to wake up. The first thing I noted immediately was that it did not look like l expected it to. It did not have some giant head. It had very human proportions but was slightly smaller. I would guess it was around 5'6". The color was also very unusual. It had a very dark brown/olive marbled kind of color. It wasn't a solid color. The eyes were black and larger. After staring at it for maybe 10 seconds, I blacked out. But that was plenty of time to see and register what was happening. I have not felt terror like that since I was a child.

Since then, there have been a couple of other incidents. Early in the morning, I saw the outline of a figure cross my room. The best way I could describe it was like someone wearing a green suit. It was transparent but I could clearly see the form of it. And it talked. It had a very scratchy, whispery, kind of voice.

The last incident might be the strangest. I had sort of a dream where I clearly felt I was somewhere else. I did not feel like I was on a ship. I felt I was in a room somewhere in a different place. It was extremely bright but natural light. But it wasn't harsh light. The light was coming from outside, not the room. The floors were white and the opposite wall was just glass with bright light coming through. I did not see any beings or anything besides that. But I distinctly remember thinking, "Is this actually happening? Am I in a building somewhere that is not Earth?" This is where it gets even more strange. I woke up and found blood on my left hand along one of the wrinkles. It wasn't a lot. But I also didn't have a cut or see any kind of hole. I don't think I was physically abducted. But I think I was somehow mentally abducted." T

'LESHY' Encountered by Russian Boy in Forest

"Hello. I live in the Russian Republic. The official religion is now Christian, but earlier there was Yazichestvo or Slavic Paganism. In that religion, there are a lot of Gods. Usually, they have one property or work. Also, there are a lot of other creatures, such as Леший (Leshiy), “Les” means forest, “hiy” means “life in here”.

When I was young, in the summer I lived in my grandparent's summer house located in the countryside surrounded by pine forest, about 100 km from Moscow. I was about 13 when that happened. It was a really boring summer. I had nothing to do, so I decided to make contact with some creatures of Yazichestvo. I had that book, where the main Gods and creatures were listed, plus I had Internet. So I did some research and found out that Leshiy was the best choice because there are a lot of old forests near me.

Some words about Leshiy. He is the protector of the forest. He lives here like some kind of politician and rules the forest. He can change the form, make himself invisible, and turn into an old man with white greenish beard. He can be evil and good, depending on people, how they treat the forest, and how they act. Also, he likes presents and treats, such as tobacco, rye bread, and candy.

So I took the candy, walked into the forest, found a cut tree, placed candy on it, and said loudly something like “Леший, Леший, я принёс тебе гостинцев, возьми их.”, that translates like “Leshiy, Leshiy, I brought to you some treats, take them”.

I stayed there for a little while trying to hear something, but instead, I spotted some movement in the corner of my eye. I saw a darkish translucent figure to the left of me, about 50 cm tall, that was running behind me. While it was running it was growing taller and taller. I almost messed myself and started running out of the forest, while that figure ran over to the place where I placed candy. A few seconds later, I heard an explosion. Very loud! It was a tree, that he probably fell to the ground. I stopped near the exit from the forest and stared at that fallen tree. It fell exactly at that place when I was standing. I ran out of the forest to my house, locked the door, and never went to that forest again." P

UFO, STRANGE LIGHTS, & MISSING TIME in Cedar Falls, Iowa

Tabitha in Iowa called into Darkness Radio to tell of a bizarre missing time experience she had:

“The story I wanted to tell was back in 2004. It was October and it would have been homecoming week for the University of Northern Iowa. So my sister was attending school there and she needed money to go out for homecoming to go out and party. So I was taking some money up to her. She said she had to be at a certain place by 11 o'clock PM because it was 5 dollars to get in. If it was after 11 o'clock she would have to pay 15 dollars.

So my friend and I left Cedar Rapids at about 7:30PM and Cedar Falls is just about an hour or so away. So we head up to Cedar Falls and when I got up on the exit, I realized I took the wrong exit. I could see the UNI Dome (NOTE: The UNI-Dome is a multi-purpose stadium, on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa, in Cedar Falls, Iowa) from where I was. It was off in the distance. I was in the middle of like four cornfields separated by the road. I had a stop sign. The crossroad did not. And my radio was really hot. It was kind of hooked up lazily, so I took the face of my CD player off.

All of a sudden I looked up into the sky and I said, 'Oh look, Mindy, a shooting star!' And I pointed at it. She looks. And as soon as I pointed at it, it starts coming towards us. So from what looked like a shooting star off in the distance maybe takes about ten seconds to get to us and by the time it was a hundred feet away from us. I could tell it was a big, really beautiful blue diamond. It looked like it was shaped out of glass. It was really smooth. The edges were rounded instead of clunky. It came straight down in front of us and landed in the cornfield that was across the street and to the left. And I say landed because there was no boom, there was no noise, there was no explosion. Whatever it was, it made a landing.

She looked at me and said, 'That wasn't a shooting star.' I said, 'No it wasn't.' I said, 'What time is it?' I don't know why I asked the time after seeing something like that. She said, '8:51' I remember that specifically because it would make sense after we left at 7:30PM. So I had to cross the road because I could see the UNI Dome off in the distance. And I wanted to point out that if I was to measure with my fingers across the windshield how big this thing was. Right now I'm doing it to a light pole. I would say it was about as big as a light pole, about 4 inches with my fingers. This was a pretty nice night. So I had to cross the road. There's no radio on. I look to the left and on top of the corn it's just illuminated, a really light blue. And that's all I remember... I don't remember talking to her. I don't remember anything except for saying 'What the heck?' I used a different word but I said 'We're not getting any closer. We're not getting any closer.' So I was like driving and driving and staring at the UNI Dome. I don't remember her saying anything. I just remember staring at the UNI Dome and driving and saying out loud, 'We're not getting any closer.'

The next thing I know, I'm at a stop light. I took a left, I took a right. I'm at the UNI Dome and my sister's gone. I call my sister to come down and get the money. She had fallen asleep. She comes down and she's acting all mad at me and I said 'What's wrong with you, I just brought you the money? I just drove from out of town to bring you some money.' She said 'I was trying to get in there by 11 o'clock so I only had to pay 5 dollars. I got ten minutes to get there by 11.' So from 8:51 when we saw this thing to ten minutes to 11, I was driving straight up to the UNI Dome. I was staring at it. I could see it off in the distance. It looked like I would probably be there in ten minutes. This is just crazy because I don't remember anything.

When I think about it, I feel like the UNI Dome was projected in front of me. This should have been at the most a three hour trip but we didn’t get home until after midnight. When I was thinking back, I don't remember the drive home. I remember a week later calling Mindy and saying, I want to talk to you about the thing... and she was like, 'what are you talking about?' I was like, 'about what we saw on the way to the UNI Dome.' And she was like quiet for a minute and then she just started freaking out and she kept saying, 'The Light! The Light! The Light! I have to go, I can't talk about this' and hung up. And still to this day, she's a good friend of mine, she will not talk about it. So that was a really crazy experience.”

MYSTERY: The Escanaba, Michigan Power Plant Explosion (2/2/2015)

In February 2015, I received a brief email from a woman with information concerning the Escanaba, Michigan power plant explosion on Monday, February 2nd. I found the images taken by other witnesses:

Residents awoke to find themselves without power due to a mysterious explosion at a power plant located in Escanaba, Michigan. The said explosion caused the neighborhood to be covered in darkness.

"This morning, about 1:15, we had a major malfunction out at the Power Plant substation with an explosion, Which, in turn caused major outages throughout the entire city. We haven't done a situational review yet, We haven't had time, we've been trying to get power. With the outside temperatures this morning down to five or six, we're trying to get people warm." - City Manager Jim O'Toole

"My husband works in the power station there, and he called at 1:30 in the morning and said, 'Don't freak out, there's been an explosion but everybody's fine, I knew everybody was safe and no one was hurt. - Escanaba resident Rhonda Goodwin

NOTE: I received an email from a woman who stated that her friend lives about a mile from the power plant. She tells me that at 1:10 AM this friend witnessed a distinct bright beam of light just before the explosion. Her words were, 'It came down from the heavens.' She said that she also noticed subsequent beams of light after the explosion. The witness was outside at the time and noted that she didn't hear any loud noises...just the bright beam of light and the light from the explosion. I have made a few inquiries over the years, but there has been no confirmation of the incident other than what I received at the time of the incident. Emergence of 'THE DECEIVER' is Imminent

During the early hours of Saturday, November 30, 2024, I experienced an event like no other I have ever perceived. After 2 weeks of personal contemplation and discussion with friends & colleagues (as well as with my therapist), I have decided to post the following:

THE DECEIVER

On Saturday, November 30, 2024, while sleeping, I slowly woke up after my cat started to shudder while lying on me. The television was still on, so I looked at my phone. The time was 3:33 AM.

As I watched the cat staring at the window, he was not moving a muscle, almost like he was in a trance. I felt drawn toward a light that seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere at once. The light was unlike anything I'd ever experienced, not harsh or blinding but rather living radiance that seemed to pulse with intelligence. It filled me with peace. I became aware of a presence near me. It was both physically present, but somehow more than physical. I couldn't see any form, but I felt its overwhelming energy concentrated on me.

As I sat up, I started to rise subconsciously, as if I was bi-locating above and below. This out-of-body sensation was unlike anything I had ever experienced previously. I could see my physical form sitting below my floating form. There was no sound, no other movement, just the light emanating around me. I was floating mid-air, and strictly concentrated on the light surrounding me. I felt peaceful, and nothing else.

Then I heard my name. There was a voice resonating through my very being. "What you are about to witness must be shared with others. The time is shorter than many realize and the people need to understand what is coming." Someone or something took my right hand and led me through what felt like a veil of pure light. The sensation was like stepping through a waterfall made of living energy. The warmth flowed through every part of my being and I felt more alive than I ever had in my physical body.

As I emerged into what looked like a vast cavern of light where scenes from both the present and future played out before me, like living holograms. The voice said, "Watch carefully." The voice had authority and compassion. "I will show you the great deception that is coming. How it begins, how it spreads, and how it will attempt to capture all living humans on the Earth."

The initial vision materialized before me in stunning clarity. I saw the world descending into a period of unprecedented crisis, and natural disasters struck with increasing frequency and intensity. Earthquakes that demolished cities, floods that swallowed coastlines, and storms that devastated entire regions. But this was just the beginning. These events, the voice explained, will create the perfect circumstances for 'The Deceiver' to emerge. People will be desperate for solutions, for someone to rehabilitate order from chaos. I watched as the global economy collapsed, stock markets crashed simultaneously across the world, digital banking systems failed, and most currencies lost their value overnight. People who had been wealthy found themselves suddenly destitute. The middle class disappeared, and civil unrest erupted in cities across the globe. The visions were horrifying! Ordinary people fighting over basic necessities, neighborhoods turning into war zones, and governments struggling to maintain order.

I was told that these dilemmas are not random. They are orchestrated like pieces being moved on a cosmic chessboard. Then I saw him, the man identified as 'The Deceiver.' He appeared first as a relatively unknown figure in European politics but his rise to prominence was meteoric. He was unlike any leader ever seen in human history. He appeared to be in his late 40s or early 50s with features that somehow seemed familiar to people of all ethnicities. His physical appearance was striking but not overwhelming. It was his presence that captured attention. When he spoke his voice carried a hypnotic quality that seemed to reach into people's souls. I watched as he addressed the European Union, NATO, and the United Nations. During the height of the global crisis his words were masterfully chosen, weaving together themes of unity, peace, and human potential in a way that resonated with everyone regardless of their background or beliefs.

I was then instructed to pay close attention to his words and notice how he speaks partial truths but skewed just enough to lead people away from their beliefs, traditions, and common sense. I listened as this man spoke about spirituality in a way that seemed to embrace all religions while subtly undermining their core beliefs. He quoted from the Bible, the Quran, the Bhagavad Gita, and other religious texts, but always with slight interpretations that altered their original meaning. I saw how this leader began implementing what he called a "Global Consensus."

It started with practical solutions to worldwide problems. He introduced new technologies that could purify water systems, produce food in any climate, and energy solutions that seemed to defy the laws of physics. These miracles of technology, I was told, will be one of his most powerful tools of deception. People believe he is solving problems that humanity has struggled with for millennia. I watched as he unveiled a new economic system that promised to eliminate poverty and ensure equal distribution of resources. It began with the global digital currency proposed as a solution to the economic collapse. It eliminated corruption, prevented theft, and guaranteed complete transparency in all transactions.

But then I was shown the darker purpose behind these modifications. The economic system became a device of control. Every transaction, every purchase, and every financial decision was tracked. It monitored people's spending habits, which were tied to their social credit scores which also factored in their behaviors, relationships, and even their thoughts. I was told to watch how the control tightened, and how the system evolved. The technology became more invasive with each passing month. What began as convenience and security transformed into a web of surveillance and control. I saw how people enthusiastically embraced these initiatives. But then I witnessed the subtle shift.

The leader began implementing a 'Social Consensus Compact.' Those who criticized the system found their access to services quickly restricted. Individuals who questioned official doctrine about world events discovered their social credit scores plummeting, limiting their ability to travel or make purchases.

The voice then said, "He doesn't need to use obvious force. The system itself becomes the enforcer." I watched in disbelief as artificial intelligence was deployed to analyze people's facial expressions, tone of voice, and online activities. The technology could predict who might resist the new order before they even took action. Those people identified as potential disruptors found themselves isolated from their friends and family, gradually pulling away afraid of having their own social scores affected by association.

Events described as 'Miracles' became more dramatic through a combination of advanced holographic technology and supernatural influence. He appeared to perform incredible feats, seemingly healing terminal illnesses, controlling weather patterns, and even appearing to raise the dead. The demonstrations were broadcast globally, and witnessed by millions. The voice told me, "These signs and wonders will be so convincing that even the most wary critics will be deceived. They will be convinced this is the one who will bring peace to Earth."

'The Deceiver' explained that there will be a 'New Spirituality' throughout humanity. I watched as he stood in Jerusalem speaking words that seemed to bridge centuries-old divisions between religions. Muslims, Jews, and Christians found themselves drawn to his message of unity and universal truth. He began rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem but not as it had been. This new Temple was designed to accommodate all faiths with spaces for various forms of worship, an architectural and technological marvel.

At that point, I could feel my consciousness returning. I was descending downward, and then I slowly merged with my physical body. I was fully awake, and the light surrounding me continued to radiate. I looked around the room but I saw nothing out of the ordinary. The cat had moved to another chair and was sleeping soundly. I looked at my phone. The time was 4.44 AM. I lay down, but I couldn't fall asleep. The experience replayed in my mind many times. I shook in horror at what I was shown! I contemplated the experience for several days, and then I shared the revelation with a few friends and colleagues.

Where did the voice emanate from? Was it an otherworldly being, or possibly a collective consciousness? Could the voice have been the combination of good, and evil, trustworthiness, criminal intent, or more?

I then realized that the deception was coming, but so was he, and in that truth lies our ultimate hope and victory. The time for fence-sitting is over. The choice before us is clear. We must build and maintain our lives with truth and righteousness, by avoiding self-described saviors and prophets. We cannot allow ourselves to be sheep led to the slaughter! Lon

NOTE: The name of 'The Deceiver' is unknown to me. The face that I perceived was unfamiliar. I don't know if that was intentional or not. I still have no idea to whom the voice belonged. There has been no other communication since the experience. If there is an update, I will consider adding it to the narrative. Lon

Desperate Young Woman Saved by UNKNOWN & UNSEEN ENTITY

A young woman, contemplating taking her own life after years of torment, is saved during an attempt. Was it divine intervention or an otherworldly being from another source?

I received the following account:

"Hello, Lon. I don’t even know where to begin. Over the years, I have filled many personal journals trying to understand my situation. I was barely 19 and had just escaped from being locked up by a sadist who trafficked me the entire time. I didn’t know how to even process what I had gone through, and my PTSD was terrible. I couldn’t tell my family what happened, because of the shame I felt. Having been raised Catholic, I thought that I was to blame for everything. My parents couldn’t understand what was wrong with me either and didn’t try. Instead, I was the scapegoat for anything wrong, and it was a constant clash of will between them and me.

One night, I drove out to the lake just outside town. My intention was to jump off the jetty into the rocks and freezing water. All I could feel inside was pain, and I wanted it to end. Sleep was elusive, as the nightmares of what had been done were constant. Smells, sounds, touch, it was all so much, and I wanted it all to end.

I don’t know how long I sat there, willing myself to finally end everything. It was cold, and raining, and I was soaked from head to toe. Finally, with tears streaming down my face, mixed with the rain, I jumped. Only, I didn’t land! I was just kind of floating in mid-air, but I was no longer cold, wet, or afraid. At first, I thought I was dead, because it was warm and bright, and I had no pain or fear.

As I looked around, confused I heard his voice in my mind. It was like a swirling sound of music and joy. There were no words spoken aloud, instead I felt his words in my heart. He told me that everything was going to be okay, but that it wasn’t yet my time. He showed me images of my life and told me I had work to do. Nothing he showed me made sense, but at the same time, it felt exactly right.

He explained that while my life had been painful to that point, my suffering had ended. He took that pain and confusion and replaced it with love and understanding. He told me my life would not be easy, but that it was necessary in order to do what I was supposed to. He didn’t tell me what my mission was, only that I would know what to do whenever I was needed.

It felt like I had been wrapped in love and light for hours, but it was only a few moments. Still, when I got back into the car, I was completely dry, and my cheeks flushed. I was no longer cold, and I finally felt free of the burning pain and anger I had been dealing with. I vowed to remain open to any messages and would do as advised.

It’s been 27 years since then, and I know that I have been doing as asked. It’s never anything complicated, it’s just having a conversation with someone. Other times, I have needed to help or befriend someone and help them. I am never told directly what I am supposed to do, rather it’s a feeling.

I have never heard of anyone else ever having experienced anything like this." E

(VIDEO) Truck Driver Encounters MASSIVE BIGFOOT on Snow-Covered Road in Lake County, Oregon

"One time, during the 1990s, I was driving to Christmas Valley (Lake County) about 70 miles east of Portland, Oregon. There is a way station for trucks before the exit to the Cascade Locks. I was talking to a weight master who called me to the station building. I told him where I was going and he said to get off the next exit and go south.

I was only going 20 mph on packed snow and out of the corner of my eye I saw something moving on the side of the road. This Bigfoot stopped right on the road in front of me. It was very tall as I was eye to eye in an International Eagle Truck 10 feet off the road. It looked right into my truck and took off down the hill.

When I finally got to the bottom there was a truck stop called 'Wild Bills.' I went in and sat down in the restaurant. The waitress came over and asked if I saw a ghost. I said no but you wouldn't believe me if I told you. She said, "Try me." So I told her. She said everybody driving up there sees it.

It was at least 10 feet tall. I was driving a cab over a tractor truck that was very high. I was 8 to 9 feet off the ground. It was a dead ringer for the creatures in 'Planet of the Apes.'" W

PITCH-BLACK 'WINGED HUMANOID' Observed While Driving in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

"It looked like a human with wings but the being was black and I’ve heard of stories about the Mothman. I was 11 years old at the time and I told her, “I think that’s the Mothman.”

The following account was forwarded to me:

"Hi. I’ve seen a flying human that was all black in 2018-2019 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. There was what LNHL going on I was with my best friend and her mom driving somewhere. I can remember every detail but her mom was driving and all of a sudden her mom spots something in the sky and she was like, “What is that? Can you guys see that?” She points at it and I look up and see an all-black-looking figure far up but not far enough that I can’t see the shape of it.

It looked like a human with wings but the being was black and I’ve heard of stories about the Mothman. I was 11 years old at the time and I told her, “I think that’s the Mothman.” They kind of didn’t respond to me like I was unheard I said it more than once.

I saw something else when I was in grade 6 while snowshoeing next to my school. I was up ahead and was waiting for my friend to come around the corner of the trail. Once she came around the corner something caught my eye I’d say like 15-20 trees behind her to the right and it was a pitch-black being. It was so tall I couldn’t see the top half because the upper half of the trees were blocking the top half. All I saw were the legs of it walking towards the right, and I felt so drawn to go see what it was.

I wanted to go over there but my teacher said I couldn’t and told me I didn’t see anything and that things like that don’t exist. I went to tell my grandma about it and she said, “Good thing your teacher didn’t let you go. It was trying to lure you in because you felt so drawn to it you said right?” And I agreed and she told me if I ever saw anything that didn’t seem to be a part of our dimension and felt drawn to see what it was that meant it was trying to lure me in and to never let my curiosity get to when it comes to something like that. It wasn’t Bigfoot. I believe it was something from our dimension trying to lure me in. Everyone would be surprised if they knew how much is out there." N

DOG-HEADED 'GARGOYLES' Reportedly Encountered in the Chilean Jungles

The following information was forwarded to me:

In the Chilean jungles, predators hungry for flesh are rarely seen but often feared, for countless strange beasts are usually witnessed and dreaded. Rumors and myths, legends transcending generations, exist here. And it was here on one night in 2004 when a harrowing encounter with a mysterious beast shocked a small family.

In July of 2004, an army sub-officer with the “Cazadores” regiment named Carlos Abett de la Torre, his wife Teresa, their three children, and a nephew at approximately 7:00 pm departed from their quarters in Fuerte Baquedano, which is located in the military community of Pozo Almonte, Chile, heading toward Arica to visit some relatives.

About two hours into their journey, Carlos was cruising at about 65 miles per hour through the Pampa Acha approximately 20 miles south of Arica. The road ahead was illuminated not only by the pick-up’s headlamps but the bright moon that hovered above them in the cloudless sky. That was when Carlos’ eldest daughter, Carmen, noticed a pair of extraordinary entities through the back window of the vehicle.

According to Carmen, she was astounded to see two creatures leisurely “floating” in the skies above. In her own words:

“I was traveling in the backseat with my brothers, talking, and suddenly everything went dark. Then I told my brother what I was seeing and he told me to keep quiet because Mom gets nervous. Later I looked through the window and saw some things that looked like birds, with dogs’ heads and back-swept wings. My father said they were like gargoyles.”

Carmen later estimated that the strange airborne critters that flew over her father’s pick-up truck were at least 6 feet in length and she admitted that at first, she wasn’t sure if the creatures had wings or legs, but that the appendages were angled toward the rear of the creatures. From her vantage point, Teresa was afforded the best view of these anomalous animals, which the press would quote her as saying resembled “dog-faced kangaroos.” She claimed that the “gargoyles” seemed to match the speed of the truck, occasionally slipping ahead, then falling back, never traveling more than 60 feet from the vehicle.

They rarely took their eyes off the gargoyles, completely in a panic they might be about to attack – Carlos started to pray, planting his foot on the accelerator along roads he really shouldn’t have been going that fast on. “We were speechless for some 10 minutes,” said Carmen. “My mom told us to react and then we started discussing what we’d seen.” And then, as if things couldn’t get any more strange – TWO more showed up.

Just when the Torre family was growing accustomed to the flying fiends above, another pair of the same species leaped in front of the truck on strong hind legs, which were shorter than their upper legs. Carlos slammed his brakes on to avoid hitting the two land-based gargoyles, as, all the while, two more circled overhead. Carlos managed to swerve around the gargoyles – he didn’t want to hang around so he made moves to pull away as quick as he could; down came the foot and off the truck zoomed, leaving behind the gargoyles. They did not give chase but credit to Carlos, whose face was a puddle of sweat, who managed to save his family from something horrifying…

When Torre family safely arrived in Arica they told their relatives about their bizarre sightings, but swore them to secrecy, concerned that the public ridicule which might follow the unveiling of their tale would somehow damage the military career of the family’s patriarch. He was the man of the house – he couldn’t allow himself to be humiliated.

As you can imagine, when it was time to head home, the entire family was extremely nervous. “We were terrified to go back,” said Teresa. Thankfully, on the trip home they did not see the gargoyles again.

The family stayed quiet until one day when sub-officer Diego Riquelme, a good friend of Carlos, approached him. He was shell-shocked. Why? You won’t believe me, Carlos, but last night… I saw a gargoyle…

A few weeks later, the duo came forward.

The media was all over it – the monsters of the Pan-American highway are on the loose! Sensationalist stories flowed and soon, the world's press was all over it – predictably, Carlos and Diego were ridiculed. It was an ostrich, they said; it must be! They escaped from a local breeder. Obviously. The media ignored the fact that no ostriches had been reported missing. Oh… and that they can’t fly. But apart from that.

The family could have been tired or exposed to some weird jungle juice but Diego wasn’t tired. So what are the Gargoyles of Chile?" C
