Beware The KUSHTAKA!
Much of the paranormal and cryptid-related television programming has been geared toward unexplained phenomena in Alaska. I received this account a few years ago that demonstrates some of the odd activity that occurs in America's last frontier:
"It all starts on a winter night in Juneau, Alaska. About 6 years back while I was a senior in high school, a few friends of mine were over at my house, a neighborhood on the side of a mountain surrounded by a forest. We were bored with our video games and TV, so we all decided to walk a trail in the woods. This is about 3 a.m. and we weren't worried about running into bears because it was their hibernation time. So we gear up for the zero-degree weather and leave for a trail up the mountain that I had played at as a kid, running through the woods and building forts. So of course growing up in it, knowing it was like my own home I wasn't too worried. We had crossed a bridge onto the trail and walked about a half mile when my friend stopped and said he heard something up ahead. I say that it's most likely a deer or something, having seen much of Alaska's wildlife in these woods. So we keep walking and by this point, he's a little nervous glancing around a lot. My third friend started to say it was probably the Kushtaka, a local legend of a creature that shape-shifts into something that lures you to your death. He freaks out even more and I tell him I've spent half my life in these woods and haven't seen one thing that was remotely strange.
About 5 minutes later we heard snow crunch under a huge pine tree about 10 yards in front of us. We stopped dead in our tracks, looking up the path towards the tree. I shine the flashlight in that direction and we catch a flash of something moving behind the tree, almost like a bike reflector or something. We start walking slowly away from the tree, back down the trail, not looking away from the tree. Then we see a hand from behind the tree touch the ground and I stop dead, frozen with fear, not looking away with my flashlight directly on it. It took a few seconds for my friends to realize what I was looking at. Then they saw it too. My friend who had been scared this whole time went nuts and started putting together words that made no sense. Whatever was behind the trees leaned out to look at us. Its eyes reflected like a dog's from the beam of my flashlight, making its face blurry from the glare. Instantly we all run, not daring to stop.
No movement was heard until we reached the bridge when one of my friends fell on the ice. That's when I heard it bounding up the path towards us. I shine my light and there it is running towards us on all fours half screaming, half howling. It looked almost like a human but seemed to be a lot taller and skinnier, very pale in the moonlight and against the snow. It was completely naked. So I ran and jumped off the low bridge onto the frozen creek and yelled for them to follow me. We run down the side of the creek towards my neighborhood. I have never run so fast and so far, but I kept on for fear of what I saw. During the entire run, I could hear whatever it was running through the woods directly to the right of us, all the way until we got to the street light by a children's park.
To this day my friend and I still bring up crazy theories of what we had seen. My other friend, the one who had been so terrified, had never brought it up again." JB

ABDUCTED! I Became An Alien EXPERIMENT!
A Michigan man experiences an abduction scenario in his home. He realizes that he is being carried onto a craft. He later wakes to an alien 'science fair' and that they had experimented on him.
I received the following account:
"At around 2:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning in August of 2017, I woke up to go to the bathroom. So, when I was walking up my stairs when I opened the basement door, I immediately attached to something, and whatever it was, it carried me to my backyard. When the thing was carrying me on its shoulder to my backyard, I saw 6 red-orange glowing objects in the sky. They were just hovering there making no noise, and the 6 glowing objects were in a V-shaped formation, but with no lead tip part of the V-shape.
I did some research online that day, and no UFO sightings were reported, and no military activities on that day happened. So anyway, a platform dropped and once this thing stepped onto the platform, I blacked out. Everything turned white, from what I remember.
I woke up with humanoid figures looking down at me, and once I had woken up, I couldn't move anything but my eyes. Then I blacked out again, and everything turned white again. I remember one more thing. I was waking up (once I woke up, I couldn't move any part of my body except my eyes) and looking at some type of alien science fair with professional-looking scientists. I don't think that they've noticed me while I was looking around. These beings looked like the 'Grey' beings that we would describe as tall and grey.
When I woke up, they were all clapping as if they'd accomplished something using me. I believe that these beings, whoever they are, are preparing me for something big that I don't know of. What do you believe happened to me? Will they come back? It has been 6 years since the abduction, but I fear that they will return and that my time on Earth will end.
For the record, I live in Farwell, Michigan."

Pennsylvania Fly Fisherman Recalls BIGFOOT Experience in Potter County
A Pennsylvania fly fisherman recalls a Bigfoot experience that he had while camping in Potter County along the Sinnemahoning Creek. He repressed the event for many years.
"This took place back in the early 90s. My buddy would work until 9 to 10 p.m. on a Friday, get home, pack his fly fishing gear and essentials, and then rack for four or five hours. He would then drive an hour to my place and we'd load all the camping gear into his truck and take off before first light. This particular trip took three hours to get to the Sinnemahoning Creek in Potter County, Pennsylvania.
We got there early, set up camp, grabbed a brew and sandwich, and finished until dark. We turned in early because of the long day. I woke and could see moonlight peek through the hemlock canopy as I tried to decide how badly I had to go to relieve myself. I decided to get up when I heard something very heavy approaching the tent. I thought, "Great, a freaking bear." It came within four or five feet of the tent and I could see a partial shadow silhouette against the tent its breath was a deep guttural grunt and it just stood there for almost a minute. I almost crapped myself thinking it was going to attack the tent so I quietly unzip the sleeping bag while trying to will the boogeyman away. As if by magic it left heavy footfalls trailing off into the night. I decided I didn't have to go after all and started to drift off to sleep when I realized it walked away on two legs.
I instantly knew what it was and lay awake processing everything. I finally fell back to sleep after convincing myself it wouldn't return.
In the morning I was careful not to mention anything to my buddy as I inspected the campsite for footprints. Nothing, zip, nada. The hard-packed earth and surrounding stones prevented any footprints. The weird thing is I kind of blocked out this event for years before acknowledging it to my buddy after he saw a Bigfoot in Lycoming County. Why I buried that event in my memory beats the hell out of me. For fear of ridicule? I don't know, but I can't help but wonder how many other folks have done the same." L

GATEWAY PROJECT: The CIA Meets A Demon

"I had an Uncle in the CIA who claimed the CIA imprisoned a kid who was possessed and fed them information.
Uncle B’s Background
Uncle B began college in the early sixties with a major in Theology to become a pastor. He was married and was in love with his wife Missy. During his third year, he and Missy found out they were going to be parents. Tragically a week later she was killed in a freak accident by a drunk driver. B dropped out of college. He said of the time, “I don’t think I completely lost my faith, but I didn't want to talk to God anymore.”
After a while, he transferred to a different college and majored in political science, minored in linguistics, and joined the ROTC. He got out with his commission in Army Intel and went to Vietnam. He did a bunch of crazy stuff and was then recruited into the CIA. After a few years in the CIA, he said he got assigned to a counterintelligence team in NYC. They wanted him, with his background in theology, to infiltrate the Russian Orthodox Church in NYC to gather intel about the KGB using it as a cover. His cover story was that he was ordained Orthodox priest but not Russian. He had converted and wanted to be regularized or something to that effect, I didn’t really understand. He tried explaining it, but it went over my head. Anyway, he got the Bishop’s blessing and he became an associate pastor or something like that.
I was drinking when he told me all this so forgive me if I don’t remember how all that worked. I’m sure there was more but it’s beside the point.
The Demon
After a year undercover in this assignment he was making progress. But then one day this young man (late teens?) came into his office. He said he was clearly distressed, erratic, and angry. He knew who he was indirectly. His mother had been going to a different priest and talking about her son hearing voices and acting strangely. My uncle thought he needed to get him to a hospital, but then the kid lunged at him started talking in Aramaic, and called him by his real name and his deceased wife’s name. And then the name they were going to give their unborn son (they had names picked out for a boy and a girl, they were also not common names).
This freaked him the 'F' out because he had never told anyone that she was even pregnant before she was killed. So he then called his handlers and they took him and the kid to a safe house. They thought he was schizophrenic, but spooks wanted to know who was onto my uncle and how much they knew.
My uncle started the interrogations because the kid was switching through multiple languages Russian, Greek, Latin, Aramaic, alongside English, and only my uncle knew these. B said he thought demonic possession was just superstition so he didn’t really want to believe that was possible. Still, he said he had no idea how the kid knew the things he did.
He asked the kid for his name when his voice started to sound like a dog growling at him. They had to restrain him and even then the straps looked like they could snap he said. I asked what name did he give and he started to tell me, but then he said that name had become classified in a way that he said could affect me since it was unusual. I don’t think that was true, but B had become convinced it was a demon and I think by saying its name it would come back or something.
He said it started talking about their projects and a bunch of classified stuff. His supervisors decided that the kid was deranged, but they had to ascertain how he came to know what he did. They decided to transport him to Langley, VA (CIA headquarters) to be treated and interrogated. B was given a cover story he delivered to the priest that the kid had a psychotic breakdown, attacked him and that he took him to the hospital. He then left and never went back. His superiors decided to terminate the operation because they felt that his cover was severely blown and that B may have even been a double agent and this kid somehow found out about it. Either way, B was sent to Langley. They wanted him to keep interrogating the kid as a “priest.”
This turned into a spectacle he said as people would come into the room and see for themselves the “demon” they caught, and the kid would start spouting off secrets about them. B said Angleton (James Jesus Angleton was an American intelligence operative who served as chief of counterintelligence for the Central Intelligence Agency from 1954 to 1975) eventually came down to see the kid. The kid started talking and Angleton told everyone to leave the room. Several minutes later he came out looking like a ghost. He thanked B for his hard work but said the kid would never leave the CIA. Angleton said whatever bastards leaked this information out to screw up this sick kid, he’d pursue to the gates of hell and personally put them down.
B said after that he was reassigned to a desk job, he wanted the kid to get treatment in a real mental hospital and an exorcism. B decided to quit soon after that. I asked what did the kid say, but he said it didn’t matter. He’d only say it was enough to convince him to come back to his faith, and he prays every day for that kid’s soul
Years later after he told me this story the CIA declassified its Gateway Project (A 1983 CIA study investigated how humans can transcend space and time with their minds). I asked B about it. He said it was a cover, and an old colleague told him the information they got actually came from the “source.” That’s what they called him. B speculated that at some point the “source” quit talking and that’s when they folded the psychic project. I asked him what he thought had happened to the man. He said he didn’t know but most likely they loaded him up with antipsychotics and put him in an institution." u/Machiasrevenge

'My Strange Ride Along the Missouri River'
I have a strange memory that has stayed with me for many years. I believe it took place in 1971, along the Missouri River in Kansas City, MO. I didn’t remember it right after it happened. It came to me a few months later.
I received the following account:
"In this memory, I am sitting in front of the TV and it's a hot summer night. We didn’t have air conditioning and all the windows were open. I was watching TV alone very late, and the house was very quiet. This in itself was strange because my parents did not allow us to watch TV late, even in the summer. It was also next to impossible to be in any place in the house without a crowd, because I come from a large family, and the house was always noisy.
I remember having a strong feeling to look outside. I went to the front door and looked out the screen. I saw a large dark vehicle parked outside. It wasn’t right in front of our house but was closer to an empty house.
I couldn’t see the make of it, it was black, and the windows were too dark to see inside. It looked like a gangster car out of maybe the 1930s. I thought it weird that it was parked on our street, but some of the guys in the neighborhood were into muscle cars, so maybe it wasn’t that weird. It was very quiet outside, and there were no lights at the neighbor's houses. The night air reminded me of how it feels right before a thunderstorm.
Suddenly, I’m in the car. But oddly, the light is on inside, and there are a number of people with me. We are sitting in rows of seats, and there is a yellow-orange light filling the vehicle. I look around at the faces in the car, but no one is looking back at me. They seem familiar, but not like relatives. The vehicle appeared to have a large number of us inside, maybe 15-20, but the inside was not that big. Suddenly I was aware that the vehicle had been moving, although I couldn’t feel anything at all. Soon I realized we were stopping and at another house. I remember standing inside as a tall thin figure held the hand of a person in pajamas leading them out of the room. Two people were sitting on a couch watching TV, as I stood there, but they seemed in a daze, totally indifferent to us being there. Then I was in the vehicle again and we were sitting inside very still.
Somehow, I was able to look out the wall of the vehicle and saw we were moving over a grassy area that was very muddy. It was very dark outside but it smelled like muddy water and it occurred to me that we were near the river. There were no buildings around us, just overgrown areas of trees and grass. I saw some cat tails in some gorges under us. There must have been streams off of the river. At this time of the year, you would often be hearing the crickets very loud at night, and see the fireflies all over. But it was dead silent, and I didn’t notice any of the fireflies around. The vehicle was moving, but not rolling like a car, it seemed to be hovering above the ground.
I turned from looking outside to looking back inside and realized there was a front seat to the vehicle, and there were two people sitting in front. All of a sudden, one turned and looked back at me, and it was a beautiful golden-haired child. He couldn't have been more than a year or two, wearing a diaper. He resembled statues of the baby Jesus I have seen in church. There was a warm glow about him, and I remember the curls touching his pink rosy cheeks. He was talking to us, and some of the people next to me, seemed to relax and a few sighed. But as I was sitting there, I thought something was wrong. Something didn't feel right. The words he was speaking were in my head, but they were bothering me. The sounds bounced around my skull and echoed giving me a headache. For a baby, there was something cold and distant about him. I shook my head and looked at the figure speaking. There was a fuzziness in front of him. It was like a television screen in front of him that was losing its signal. I reached out to touch him, and he backed away. As the image flickered in front of me, I saw another figure. It was small and brown, and the head was a weird shape. It had large eyes, wider than long, and ridges around its eyes like oversized lids. I had a frightened thought that something really terrible was standing in front of me. The face of the baby Jesus stabilized and I felt my body go cold. Baby Jesus looked deeply into my eyes leaned toward me and I broke loose and punched it in the face. I didn’t think about punching it, I seemed to do it instinctively. I think I saw a flash, and then I must have blacked out.
I guess I forgot about it, until a few months later. My family drove down to a riverfront park to celebrate some relative's birthday. I was walking on a path close to the river and could smell the strong smell of the muddy water. I glanced around and saw a bunch of cat tails. Suddenly, I remembered it: The gangster car, the yellow-orange light, the people watching TV, the baby Jesus, the strange-headed being, and the punch.
I never told anyone about this event. There were so many things about it that were too ridiculous. In 1971, I couldn’t make any sense of it or place it in any category if I tried. I have never considered it a dream, because it was too real. I have other strange memories about the house I grew up in, but many are not as vivid as this one. I recently moved back into the house, and I started thinking about this event again. I don’t really know what to do with the memory. I made some sketches about what I remember.
The baby Jesus figure was like a little glowing angel, but there was something very distant about it. The weird being had a tan, light brown dry skin. It didn't look like any of the grey aliens I've seen in pictures. When I hit it, it was like hitting a turkey, with dry skin. The black car seemed to dip in the back and seemed to hug the street when it was parked outside the house.

RED-EYED, HUMAN-SHAPED BEING Observed on Bridge in Lee County, Illinois
A long-haul couple, driving separate rigs, encounter a human-shaped creature with large red eyes crouched on a bridge in Lee County, Illinois, 70 miles west of Chicago.
I received the following account:
“I was an owner/operator in trucking. My husband knew I had had a lot of unusual things happen to me in my life. Thank goodness he believed in me, so he didn't criticize me. Here is my story.
It was the night of August 2, 2017. We had traveled in separate rigs from Chicago, Illinois, and were cutting across this bridge in the boonies. We were about 70 miles west of the city in Lee County, Illinois. It was a low-weight bridge (I don't remember the road name or designation) but instead of turning around and backtracking many miles, he decided that we would cross this bridge. Not liking the idea I agreed and he said he would go first just in case something happened. Okay I said. He crossed the bridge.
Now let me say this. It was indeed a small road and after crossing, there was barely any room to turn right and bring the trailer behind you and not hit the side of the cut.
Okay, so after he crossed safely he said be careful. "The road is barely there and a really tight turn." So I followed and I spoke to him over the CB and told him that he was right and that was tight. That is when he asked me if had I seen that thing on top of the bridge. He told me, "I don't see how you could miss it. It was like some big being of some kind in a crouched position with really big red eyes glowing brightly." I joked with him, that is why they call me 'a detective' because nothing gets by me. I was joking but knew he didn't joke about this kind of stuff. So he described it again as a large person or human-like shape sitting on top of this bridge with red glowing eyes. He was serious. Now I don't know if this thing was warning us or protecting us but it happened and that is that." S
NOTE: Even though this was a possible winged humanoid sighting, there wasn't enough detail offered in order to place it with the other sightings. If I do receive more information, I may change the status. Lon

BRIGHT LIGHT BEAM Descends on Campers in Lost Creek Wilderness Area, Colorado
Two friends were hiking and camping in the Lost Creek Wilderness Area in Colorado. On the first night, a large, bright beam of light descends on them. Since then they still question what had occurred.
The following account was forwarded to me by my friends Cam & Kyle at Expanded Perspectives:
"On June 3rd or maybe 4th 2011, I was camping with a good friend of mine. We had hiked approximately 12 miles into the Lost Creek Wilderness Area following the Colorado trail from where section four starts at Wellington Lake Road. We reached what is referred to as “the meadow” and decided to set up camp for the night.
The elevation gain had been significant, and we were beaten. Well, I was beat because I wasn’t in the greatest shape for backpacking in the backcountry. We got camp set up, gathered firewood, and ate our dinners of dehydrated Mountain House food. As it got darker, we got the fire going and were standing around talking. The sky was super dark, and the only sounds around were from the campfire and our own voices. I remember that I could see more stars than I ever had before. The light pollution was incredibly low.
My friend and I were working for an aerospace company and started talking about the satellites we had been building and wondered if we could see any satellites in the super dark sky. We didn’t have to wait long. We were able to see one after another. We could see so many, that eventually, the novelty of it wore off. We stopped watching the sky and were facing each other talking about regular life, when out of nowhere, we were completely encircled by an intense beam of light. This light formed a perfectly circular pattern on the ground. Part of the beam was in the trees next to us. But because of the pattern, the light had to have a point of origin directly above us. There was no oval in the beam pattern as if the beam came from a side. It was perfectly centered on us. This beam was probably 10-20 yards in diameter. It was incredibly bright. It was a cool white color, like a 5600k LED light. There was no diffusion of light at the perimeter, it was incredibly defined.
My friend and I were completely illuminated and were staring right at each other. We just kind of froze. The beam lasted about two to three seconds. I immediately retrieved my cell phone from my pocket and checked the time. I felt like I should in case we had “missing time.” The time was about what it should have been, somewhere in the 2:00 AM hour. I do not believe we had any missing time. I asked my friend if he had seen the light, I wanted to confirm that what I had just seen was in fact there and not because I was suffering from a sudden brain aneurysm. He in fact confirmed that yes, the intense spotlight that I had witnessed was real and that he had seen it too.
We immediately began trying to explain what had just happened. We yelled out in the darkness, “Hello?”, there was no response. We scanned the woods and meadow as best we could by flashlight and could see no one. We both knew that the light came from above. We knew that it didn’t come from a flashlight from the side. I think we were just trying to make ourselves feel better about what had happened.
Now, during this entire encounter, it had been quiet out there. Just the fire and our voices. No other people, no vehicles, there wasn’t even any air traffic. It was just completely, dead quiet. In later years I have wondered if perhaps this was a directed beam from a personal drone. I can quickly dismiss this as once again there was no noise whatsoever. Also, during this timeframe, drones weren’t nearly as popular or common as they are today. Anyhow, we continued trying to ease our nerves by coming up with explanations that could never be. The best I could come up with is that a Bolide had entered the atmosphere and had a trajectory directly above us heading perfectly straight down towards us. Yes, this was an absurd explanation, but I could not, and can not explain what this light had been from. I am still completely baffled by this.
There are times I will message my friend out of nowhere and ask him if he remembers this event. He clearly does remember and responds with something like, “Oh, you mean that night we got probed? Of course, I remember.” The probe talk is in jest, but we clearly encountered something that night. I will forever wonder what illuminated us so incredibly brightly that dark, quiet night. I would love to know, but maybe, it’s better that I don’t."

Mystery Continues in DEATHS OF 3 HORSES & 2 DOGS in Monroe County, Kentucky
An attack in September 2018, that left 3 horses and 2 dogs dead under mysterious circumstances, continues to be a point of contention by local and state officials in Monroe County, Kentucky.
I received the following information from a reader:
"There was an account about three horses and a dog that were killed in Monroe County, Kentucky under mysterious circumstances in September 2018. I wanted to offer my opinion as to what may have happened.
On this property, the man, who owned three horses, came out in the morning. He called for them. Usually, they come running over to the fence, but they don't come. He walked over to a pond and found one of his horses floating in the pond and the other two were dead. I guess they had slice marks or teeth marks on the neck.
The reports of what happened were not very specific. The sheriff was called. Then the Fish and Wildlife officers were called in and they had biologists come out and examine the animals and look at the wound patterns. Also, a neighbor's dog, a good-sized Husky, was killed as well and there were no visible wounds on the dog, which I think is also important to this.
There were a lot of inconsistencies. I heard they were miniature horses, but in the pictures, they were regular-sized horses. So, we'll just go with horses at this point. Even miniature ponies can be really mean and typically aren't preyed upon by coyotes. A Husky, even a smaller Husky at 60 or 70 pounds, has thick coats. They do have a prey instinct. I know Huskies will chase cats and they're usually pretty good around wild animals. That is to say, a cougar or something else could take them out. But to me, the real telling facts were in the story. The owner of the horses was convinced it was some kind of large predatory animal. He didn't know what it was, though I get the oddest feeling that this guy was holding something back. He saw something or he found prints. He was not telling us everything he knew about what attacked his animals. He seemed genuinely scared. You could tell that he and his wife, during the interview, were frightened about the deaths and I think there's more to the story.
So, then you have the Fish and Wildlife officer. He seemed like he was giving a very formal statement, where he stated that the biologist examined the wounds and that they had reason to believe that this wasn't a large animal. He didn't say it was humans. He didn't say it was cut like a knife. He just said we have reason to believe it wasn't a large animal and you could tell that he knows more about the story or he doesn't want to get dragged into it. It seems like a deniability kind of thing going on, which just seems kind of odd.
Anyway, the area, especially in Monroe County, is known for Bigfoot and Dogman sightings and encounters. I believe one of the cryptids may have been responsible for the attacks.

THREE-HORNED 'MAN BEAST' Approached Hunters Near Johnson City, Tennessee
A Tennessee man and his cousin are hunting near Johnson City. While sitting, they hear sounds indicating a large creature. What they see next is both shocking and otherworldly!
I received the following account:
"Me and my cousin were out hunting near Johnson City, Tennessee, and were sitting on the side of the wall of a rather large hollow which consisted of very thick underbrush and lots of evergreen. A larger valley then leads first to a clearing and then on to a supposed old Indian graveyard. All of a sudden we heard the brush in the hollow below rattling and could tell that whatever was making the sounds was rather large.
I was armed with a Ruger 10-22 rifle with approximately 150 rounds of ammo ready to go. Under my night vision scope, I could see what appeared to be a man, but upon further inspection, I realized that the "man" was a creature about 7-8 feet tall, approximately 450 lbs. It was covered with thick black fur and was slimmer than the popular Bigfoot image, almost skinny with a neck. Also protruding on either side of its head were long tapered "horns" also black in color. On the top of the head also protruded a horn pointing straight up. All horns were approximately 5-6 inches in length and were the same dark color as the creature.
I was terrified! I emptied a 25-round clip into the creature and then we retreated into a nearby cabin about 65 feet away.
The next morning we could not find anything except for lots of spent shell casings and bullet holes on a walnut tree. I thought I had struck the creature several times. Nearby animal traps had been sprung and all the bait extracted. On a nearby ridge, we located a series of tunnels made up of brush and various sizes of tree limbs, vines, and leaves. We thought it could have been "the lair of the beast."
Well, we weren't going to stick around and find out. We quickly returned home and never went into that area again. I don't know what we encountered that day, but I don't believe that it was of this Earth!" P

Woman Encounters TALL, RED-EYED WINGED HUMANOID In Her Bedroom
A woman recalls her experience with a large, red-eyed winged humanoid in her bedroom in Killeen, Texas. Over 50 years later, she still feels fear associated with the encounter.
I received the following account:
"Hi, Lon. I am from Waterville, Maine. Back in the late Summer, or early Fall of 1971, I was newly married and living in Killeen, Texas with my husband who was in the army. We had a small duplex apartment in Killeen. One night he had duty and I was home alone in bed around 3 am in the morning. I woke up suddenly and saw a black figure standing at the bottom of my bed. It was 8 or 9 feet tall and had huge big black wings and red eyes. I closed my eyes and opened them again and it had moved closer to me on the right side of my bed. I couldn’t scream. It was as if I was frozen in fear. I covered my head in the blankets. I was so afraid! About 5 minutes later I looked and it was gone. It gave me a horrible feeling and I prayed never to see it again.
Shortly after this event, I came back to Maine as I was way too frightened to ever stay alone at night when he had duty. I told my mom I had seen a huge black angel that night and she was glad I came home as that didn’t sound good. I had never heard of the Mothman but a few years later I came across an article and a drawing of one. Even before I read the article I said "Wow, that is exactly what I saw in Texas!" It didn’t have a noticeable neck and its face was like hooded, its wings tucked in on its side but you could tell they were very large. It was totally black except for the eyes were round, large, and red. Lon, I still think of this thing with fear. Personally, do you have any idea what it is? I'm in my 70s now and I am still searching for an answer.
P.S. - The apartment I lived in had a well in the entranceway that always gave me the creeps, a cistern I believe it is called. Just a flat rock covered it and it still had water in it. I couldn’t see the water but I heard the plop when I dropped a rock in it. This probably has nothing to do with any of this but felt I should tell you anyway." K
