Throwback Thursdays! The Best Post Ever?

I have no idea why, but when I posted this in June of 2006 it got more comments than anything I’ve posted before or since.

A Wrinkle in Time(June 23, 2006)

(This is a bit long winded and unusual for me, but I wrote it, so here it is) It was a beautiful, sunny, summer Sunday. I was up at sunrise and enjoyed a quiet cup of coffee as I looked out at the lake. For a while I sat at the keyboard working on my novel without distractions of any kind. I had the day all to myself. The solitary time ahead...

Philip Seymour Hoffman, heroin, and the death of my American Dream

Reblogged from The Nicki Daniels Interview:

It's no secret that I used to be a drug addict. I've used it as a punchline on this blog a few times already. But there's something that makes me feel a little uneasy about that. Like I'm trying to say it's all in the past. Like all that madness happened to someone else, someone not me. Like somewhere there is a calendar with a big red X on it, marking the date, denoting the before and after.

Zombie Love Boat

Love Boat

I knew this picture combined with the title would lure you children of the 80′s here. Apparently your memories of the kitschy Saturday night show featuring B-list celebs hooking up was popular enough that millions of people now support the growing cruise industry by taking cruises themselves, possibly hoping to hook up with a B-lister and go to the Lido deck for some shuffleboard, if you know what I mean.

It’s going to happen though. You and I both know it. This is not going to end well, and i...

Throwback Thursdays! Groundhog Day (Feb. 2, 2006)

In case you didn’t know, it’s Groundhog’s Day this Sunday. Who doesn’t love this movie? Especially since Bill Murray’s character was named Phil. Coincidence? I think not.

groundhogs day

(Feb. 2, 2006)Last week I waxed philosophic about the idiocy known as The Dr. Phil Show. This week, and today in particular it’s Punxsutawney Phil. Groundhog Day the movie: Good idea. Groundhog Day the tradition: Stupid idea. The dimwitted people of Punxsatawney, Pennsylvannia have been shoving a rodent through a hole in a tr...

A New Book By Jim Bernheimer

sorceress

My friend Jim Bernheimer, who was one of the first authors I interviewed and was partly my inspiration for leaping into the void and publishing my first book, has just released a new novel. Jim writes some great fantasy/sci-fi novels andSorceressis the sequel to Rider: Spirals of Destiny I.

Rider

Here is the synopsis for Rider: Spirals of Destiny I:Forget everything you thought you knew about unicorns and maidens… A unicorn is not supposed to survive the death of its rider, but Majherri did. Now he...

You Down with EBB? (Everything BUT Bieber)

Hey everybody, guess what? Other stuff happened in the world this week besidesJustin Bieber’s arrest. No, seriously, the rest of the world kept going and did their own thing. I know, shocking, right? It’s probably also a shock to the Biebs that the world didn’t stop for him.

President Obama Endorses Marijuana?

In what I consider a colossal lack of good judgement, President Barack Obama seemed to support the legalization of recreational marijuana.“I don’t think it is more dangerous than alcohol,...

Why We Should All Love Justin Bieber. (Cough)

Reblogged from suzie81's Blog:

Click to visit the original post Click to visit the original post

Yesterday my Twitter feed was jammed with messages to or about Justin Bieber after his arrest and leaving messages to the rather inconsiderate people who are saying nasty things about him. So, for all the 'haters' out there, I wanted to share my thoughts on the reasons on why he is such an amazing influence and role model to his millions of fans and why he deserves the popularity and fame that he is showered with...

Throwback Thursdays! Color Blind (July 21, 2005)

More proof that Martha Stewart is the devil incarnate. If that doesn’t look like evil, maniacal laughter in the picture below I don’t know what does.

mstewart

(July 21, 2005) You know how they say that people see in color but dogs see in black and white? I’m not sure who “they” are, but if this is true, I have a whole other level to add to this theory. A sort of evolutionary ladder of color sensitivity if you will. It goes like this: Dogs see in black and white. Men see the primary colors: red, blue, g...
