Kanye Worst…Human Being Ever?

“Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove doubt” ~attributed to either Abraham Lincoln or Mark Twain.

Just like Kanye Worst, I break the rules. In this case I broke my own rules against torturing people with GIFs, but Kanye is so horrible that I had to do something equally horrible. If any human has ever embodied the Abe Lincoln/Mark Twain quote better than Kanye Worst, I have no idea who it is, although Donald Trump is gaining fast.

Apparently last week was Kan...

Top Ten Tuesday! Ten Kind Of True Facts About Norway

www.nordfjord.no

http://www.nordfjord.no

Hei mine norske venner! My blog views by country typically go United States, European Union, England, Canada and then a handful from a random assortment of other countries. About 6-8 months ago Norway joined the list right behind Canada every month with 6-10 views and now it’s up to 6-10 views a day. I’ve never written about Norway or any celebrities from Norway, so I was intrigued. In an effort to try to provoke a reaction or declaration of war from Norway I came up wi...

Angst Away! The Cure for that Valentine’s Stench!

(originally published 02/15/14) That’s right ladies and gentlemen, it’s Angst Away! The body spray that covers up your pure hatred of Valentine’s Day! Can you smell it? A day after Valentine’s Day the smell of romantic angst everywhere is starting to fade.

Look, I don’t have all the answers in life. I’m just a boy, standing in front of a computer asking you to read my blog, which in my world equates to love. If I get that little “like” click or God forbid, (gasp), a comment, I suddenly turn...

Music Monday! Anxiety by Nothing Personal

A catchy heavy alternative rock song that starts slowly and will having you singing along by the end. Yes, it’s my son’s band, Nothing Personal, and they recently released their new full-length album, Unforgettable. So sue me for being a proud dad. This is the last Music Monday I’ll do on them for awhile.

The album is available for download at all the online music retailers. Have a great Monday! ~Phil

11.22.63 Book Review & Mini Series Preview

In honor of tomorrow’s premier of the 11.22.63 mini-series on Hulu, I’m re-posting my original review of the novel by Stephen King. Don’t worry, I don’t do spoilers.

112263

Yes, I realize thatStephen Kingdoesn’t need my review to help his sales, but every once in awhile you read a book that captures your imagination so much that you want to tell everyone to read it.11/22/63is one of those books.

When it first came out in November of 2011 I had no interest in reading the book. I hated the title and...

Movie Review: Deadpool

tumblr_nzd3y6BeB91qz4t3mo1_500

Despite my son being 18 years old, he still likes to go to movies with his dad. Or maybe he likes when his dad pays for him to go to the movies. And buys him the Texas-sized bucket of popcorn and a soda pop that he could swim in. This time I bought tickets and the aforementioned snacks for he and his girlfriend. And it was so worth it. Don’t worry, there’s no spoilers here.

It’s perfectly appropriate for me to do a Deadpool review on Valentine’s Day because it’s a love story. Yes, Deadpool i...

Love and War. And Love.

For Valentine’s Day, a wonderful and surprising story of love related to that iconic WWII picture. This comes from Renee at Life in the Boomer Lane.

Life in the Boomer Lane

There’s a iconic photo taken on August 14, 1945 by the legendary photographer Alfred Eisenstadt. It is the day World War II ended, and the photo is called “The Kiss.” A young sailor in Times Square (We assume he is strong, handsome, possessed of all the traits necessary to have single-handedly beaten the Germans and the...

Happy Singles Awareness Day !

SAD

Yes! Tomorrow is finally Singles Awareness Day! Yup, it’s a real thing. I found it on Wikipedia, so it must be true. Have you bought yourself or someone else a Happy Singles Awareness Day card yet? Every other blog on the interwebs will bring you a post about love or Valentine’s Day this weekend. That’s why you come to #ThePhilFactor. I take a left turn when everyone else is going right. (usually when people tell you how awesome they are like I just did, it’s never true, but in this case tha...

Love, Exciting and New… The Friday Poll is Back!

Climb aboard, we’re expecting you!

With Valentine’s Day tantalizingly close, I thought some of you 80’s aficionados would appreciate hearing that song again. Of all the old shows they’ve made updated, current versions of, why not The Love Boat? Who doesn’t want to see B-list celebrities from cancelled TV shows hooking up every week amidst a flimsy plot premise and corny dialogue? The original crew could make cameos. It would be great!

In a comment give the reason for your vote AND who you wo...
