Night Vale Live Show

If you haven’t listened to Night Vale, the podcast, you really should.  It’s so very disturbingly wonderful.  I just got tickets to the late live show in Brooklyn, and they sold out in 3 minutes - whew!  Huzzah!

My little brother is visiting NYC this weekend on his way to a soul finding Italy walkabout and he brought my favorite burrito from Midland, Texas. Rosa’s Cafe! I’d say that’s some good Karma building for him.

Today Simon Mignolet* saved a penalty to secure a 1-0 victory for the football club I love, Liverpool FC, in their first game of the season.

I know the vast majority of tumblr doesn’t care about sports, let alone Liverpool, and that’s okay. Sports are meaningful only because we construct meaning around them, and I’m happy to acknowledge that there are better things to care about in this world.

HOWEVER, if any of you who share my love of soccer, join me over at the sportswithjohn twitter this season.

I promise not to post too much on tumblr about sports. ONCE A WEEK AT MOST.

* To the tune of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” the stadium sang “He’s our keeper, our Belgian keeper, he’s Simon Mignolet / A Mignolet A Mignolet A Mignolet A Mignolet.” Credit to his previous club, Sunderland, for that top-notch song. Also thanks for selling us this beast of a keeper!

Ya, another reason to love im
