My UK publisher, the stellar Serpent’s Tail, is running around London this afternoon handing out cake versions of my book cover to celebrate the paperback launch. Look at all those adorable booksellers! And it’s so cool to learn about all the different bookstores there.


This whole thing is amazing, and also obviously I want some of that cake.



This is an author’s dream.

Apart from Harry Potter, Twilight and the Tolkien adaptations, live-action fantasy movies always seem to tank these days. Latest case in point: Mortal Instruments, which underperformed massively, taking in only about $14 million on a $60 million budget. Why are fantasy movies cursed?
