SOUTHPORT CLASSIC AND SPEED CAR SHOW HIT BY RAIN

The popular event took place today, Sunday 15 September 2024, at Victoria Park.

Sadly, the poor wet and cool weather struck and this was reflected in the empty spaces that normally held many more crowds and vehicles.

Above: Umbrellas never went out of fashion. Some car show enthusiasts almost took to singing and dancing in the rain...

Above: Considering the appalling weather, a very sensible choice of vehicle.

Hopefully, next year the sunshine will return instead of today's persistent drizzle. ...

The paintings need dusting

Rule one: when you stick paintings away in the attic they get very dusty, unless you cover them up.
Consequently, some of my old artwork below finally got treated with the old wet rag this morning. Please excuse light reflections as they were just fast snaps taken as I was cleaning them.

So to be honest - some of the art above is not that great and only kept for sentimental value. Several paintings though I had accepted in the Atkinson Art Gallery exhibitions, back in the 80s and 90s. Many more ...

Southport: Riots not root cause of atrocity

Southport stabbing survivor says riots have nothing to do with atrocity

Here are a few extracts from a recent AOL report….

A survivor of the Southport stabbing has said riots which have erupted across the country have nothing do with the atrocity.

Grandfather John Hayes, 63, has revealed he is lucky to be alive after he was stabbed in the leg as he rushed to help screaming children during the attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class.

Mr Hayes believes their deaths were simply the trigger for th...

KING JAMES BIBLE – evil hiding in our midst!

Biblical Christian teachings: our great tradition, our moral guidance - or an ancient EVIL, transparently hiding behind the veneer of social and religious respectability?

Regardless of private beliefs, our politicians have by custom essentially played up to the Christian tune.  The King James version (KJV) of the Bible which contains vicious justifications to beat children, was a little TOO extreme for moderate Christians.

Its ranting and psychopathologic content was so transparently prejudiced ...
