Ghostly Boxing Day mists

All seasons have their own special attraction and winter is no exception.

The images herein were taken around the Scarisbrick/Halsall area of Lancashire. The Boxing Day mists were increasing and the atmosphere was decidedly spooky.

I shot images requested by the Fortean Times magazine some years ago, for an article about ghostly hitchhikers, allegedly seen in this region.

In Pictures: Yesterday’s Ainsdale Festive Craft and Gift Fayre

Southport Crafts and Events had their last fayre of 2024 yesterday (14 December 2024), at Sacred Heart Church hall in Ainsdale. 
Santa even made a brief appearance to hand out free presents for the children...

DECEMBER UFO SIGHTING OVER WOODVALE

Date: 2 December 2024

Time: 21.00 hrs

Woodvale: Southport, UK.

I was calmly smoking a bowl of Condor at my back doorstep last night, while watching the clear eastern night’s sky.

It was quite cold and felt like frost. An owl cried in the poplar trees and there was no wind to stir the branches.

My attention was fixed mainly of one particularly bright star/planet  (possibly Jupiter), which was visible as I was looking towards the east facing the direction of  Ormskirk.

Families braved the chilly November weather to see the attractions in the town centre. 
A section of Lord Street was closed off for the event, which was organised by Sefton Council and Southport BID.

RAF WOODVALE: flying in the November mists

 

RAF Woodvale saw various military helicopters involved in low level flying manoeuvres today. 

A small crowd of onlookers and photographers lined the pinewoods as the evening mists arrived, just after sunset 

Military aviation exercises are apparently scheduled from November 11 to 15, between the hours of 10am to 2am. However, aircraft were quite active as the light faded away.
