Despite the chilly February breeze, eager bargain hunters came out in force at the successful Birkdale indoor car boot sale yesterday. 

This event took place at the Methodist Church hall (Red Brick Church) in Liverpool Road.










NB. Our next indoor car boot sale date is 22nd February, 11.00am to 2.00pm, at Valhalla by Pleasureland/Adventure Coast Southport, opposite Splashworld. Free public admission.

Southport Crafts & Events have a great new venue for their Southport indoor car boot sales.

It starts later in the morning as well!

Free public admission. Refreshments available. 

The venue is the Valhalla Building opposite Dunes Leisure and by Morrisons in Southport. Right next to Pleasureland. They still have spaces available for the first one from 11.00am to 2.00pm on 22nd February.

The venue has plenty of space for stalls of good quality second hand items, craft stalls and delicious home baked ...

New Pier out of the question - or maybe not?

 

Poor old Southport Pier is, as we know, somewhat knackered.
It’s not the first time either in its history that it’s needed a good dose of TLC to survive. I hear that Sefton taxpayers may be asked to pay the complete repair cost of an alleged £13 Million.

One thought came to mind. 

Would it be a feasible option to rebuilda newer better pier that was longer and more resilient to the passage of time and adverse weather?
