Join us this Sunday - for a Picnic on Ainsdale Village Green



Welcome to our brand new Ainsdale Village Green event. 

Cath Regan who runs local fayres (via Southport Crafts, Arts and Preloved Items Fayres ) has organised the new event, which takes place on Sunday 3rd September. 
Cath and Wendy Millington Moakler, who runs ‘ Wendy’s Little House of Crafts ’, have worked hard  to create the free and fun - filled Ainsdale community event. 
This new forthcoming event is also backed by local ward councillors and the Ainsdale Civic Society.

Southport Craft Fayre – Spaces Still Available

 


BANK HOLIDAY STALL SPACES STILL AVAILABLE FOR THIS SUNDAY! 

‘Southport Crafts, Arts and Preloved Items Fayre’ organisers are holding a fayre at Haskayne Village Hall this coming Sunday 27th August 11.00am– 3.00pm. 

Venue – Haskayne Village Hall, 109 School Lane, Downholland, Ormskirk L39 7JE


A fantastic indoor venue for stallholders to sell their crafts. Right by the picturesque Leeds & Liverpool Canal and popular children’s playground/picnic area, Jubilee Field.

Carnival Pride puts to Sea

 


Just a quick handheld superzoom clip of the luxury cruise liner, Carnival Pride, leaving the Mersey this afternoon, following its visit to liverpool.

Apologies for the camera shake, but I had to sprint a few hundred yards on soft sand to catch the shot before she vanished out on the horizon. 



Before long, she was on her way into the Irish Sea...

Killing fish through ignorance and lack of insight



Excessive aquatic weed control by thoughtless humans can lead to extensive fish death in small ponds and lakes.

Random weed control treatment of the whole waterway, all at once, marks a fool’s errand, It may kill many fish and cost the reckless culprit a fortune in more ways than one.

Mystery fish deaths can create a great deal of misunderstanding and careless weed control in inexperienced hands has much to answer for. Of course, it’s all too easy to blame the herbicide itself for fish mortality...

Crafts, Arts and Preloved Items Fayre in Ainsdale this Saturday

 


‘Southport Crafts, Arts and Preloved Items Fayre’ organisers are holding a fayre at Ainsdale Methodist Church this coming Saturday 12th August 10.30am– 3.00pm.

Venue: Ainsdale Methodist Church, 688 Liverpool Rd, Southport PR8 3NQ

The indoor fayre has parking facilities, refreshments are available, and it is free admission.




We will have lots of handmade craft stalls to browse through as well as our usual children’s craft table.

No, not aliens - new TV drama series

 


Residents could have been forgiven for thinking ET hadlanded this evening, as eerie light cut through the Ainsdale trees.



But never fear – it was just high-powered lights from a filmset for a new TV drama series.
