Sefton’s Ongoing War 'Against' Nature

 

Alleged ‘conservation’ work (involving ripping into the sanddunes with heavy machinery) within the dormancy of winter is one thing. 

However, this week we saw guys in yellow jackets apparently spraying ("selective herbicide") over large rose thickets on the sand dunes. The mind boggles at what effect this may have on a fragile ecosystem and especially in nesting season.

Sunday's Haskayne Fayre a success!


Despite persistent showers people arrived in good numbers to see what was on offer, at the first Haskayne Fayre.

The successful event was organised by 'Southport Crafts, Arts and Preloved Items Fayre.'

Southport Crafts, Arts and Preloved Items Fayre - Haskayne this Sunday



‘Southport Crafts, Arts and Preloved Items Fayre’ organisers are holding a fayre at Haskayne Village Hall this coming Sunday, 23rd July, 11.00am– 3.00pm.

Venue:  Haskayne Village Hall, 109 School Lane, Downholland, Ormskirk, L39 7JE.

The indoor venue has parking facilities, refreshments are available, and it is free entry to the public. It stands right by the Leeds & Liverpool Canal and opposite a beautiful children’s playground.

We will have lots of handmade craft stalls to browse through as well ...

Craft artists setting up shop in Ainsdale today

 


Today ‘Southport Crafts, Arts and Preloved Items Fayre’ is in Ainsdale. 
The venue is Ainsdale Methodist Church, Ainsdale, 688 Liverpool Road, Southport, PR8 3NQ. Free entry to the public.

The fayre is on until 3.00 pm, so why not pop in to see us. We also have a bouncy castle and playdough to amuse the children.
