More wandering monsters! Renegade Tank: This tank might actually be licensed to the plucky teenagers running it, but are you really gonna believe that, Sarge? (Prestige check to get them to join you or leave happily, else you can fight them or run, losing

Oh man…

Renegade tank gives me a crazy idea: DEMON POSSESSED TANK. Bogeymen/Gremlin ideas are very good. I’m adding them to my list of “things to look into for post-Alpha additions.”

Could Milo, if he so chose, put one rank in wizard (No capital W)? I know he fears being an unoptimized freakish hybrid, but it seems like it would be a useful class for him to have, given that it suddenly opens him up to all the wizardly magic that he ca

No he couldn’t, because the wanded wizards don’t have classes and levels for him to put points into, in the same way they don’t have hit points. They’re not really the same kind of human. If you looked at Milo under a microscope, you might not even see atoms—he’s made up of the four elements, like all D&D things.

Is Milo's belt warded against the usual effects of trying to have a bag of holding or portable hole interact or has he already come to terms with the safety of wanded magic's extradimensional spaces and his brand of nondimensional space?

I don’t think HP-magic extradimensional space would trigger the bag of holding/portable hole implosion. There’s pretty specific wording about those two magic items that doesn’t seem like it would apply to the more vague effects of wanded magic.

Well, re: feats, at least (right now) there are few enough feats that in general you can identify only about one or two you want for your character rather than having 16 feats you want and have to give up important ability score increases for...

That’s a fair point, and also helped by the fact that it’s possible to cap out your critical abilities at 20, and therefore have room to nab some feats.

I was wondering if there was a beta of death or glory I could play. I'm looking for something new to introduce to a group I am about to join...

It’s going to be released as an Alpha “soon.”

Right now, I’m in the proofreading stage. After that, there’s nothing but technical issues (how will I release it? Will I create a website? A forum? A bugtracker? etc.)

Chapter 25 book 1 is where he explicitly changes his alignment. "It should have felt more profound, more impressive, changing one's alignment. Milo felt vaguely cheated."

Cool, thanks. I find it really hard and slow to read through my own story to find things like that, because I get bogged down making edits (and wincing at awkward writing) as I go.

Is there something about the nature of Quaal's Feather tokens and the trees they produce magically interacting with wand magic in a weird way that you're going for or there some other significance to how much trouble they seem to have removing or otherwise

Neither. Wanded magic is actually fantastic at dealing with practical problems (see: Molly cooking and cleaning with magic. You could do that with D&D magic, but preparing those spells would often be a liability, as it comes at the cost of more combat-oriented spells.)

No, the trees are still there largely because it’s funnier that way. I think I mentioned in book 1 somewhere, also, that Professor Sprout chose to preserve the tree in Hogwarts because of what a magnificent specimen it was.
