In his head, Jason Parent lives in many places, but in the real world, he calls New England his home. The region offers an abundance of settings for his writing and many wonderful places in which to write them. He currently resides in Southeastern Massachusetts with his cuddly corgi named Calypso.

In a prior life, Jason spent most of his time in front of a judge . . . as a civil litigator. When he finally tired of Latin phrases no one knew how to pronounce and explaining to people that real lawsuits are not started, tried and finalized within the 60-minute timeframe they see on TV (it's harassing the witness; no one throws vicious woodland creatures at them), he traded in his cheap suits for flip flops and designer stubble. His best works from a literary standpoint, though (and both are awesome) are The Masque of the Red Death and The fall of the House of Usher. I do own and have read cover to cover a volume that claims to be Poe's complete work, poems and all. Though not the same for every author, I do believe Poe's most famous stories are his better tales, with lesser known The Island of the Fay and this strange tale about a guy stuck in a balloon (the name of which escapes me) adding some peculiarity to his portfolio. Actually, he has some other very strange tales, with talking severed heads, vibrating tongues, etc.(less)

White Trash and Dirty Dingoes by Jason Parent

Gordon is a bad man. Violent and vulgar, crude and a little crazy, he’s the kind of guy who takes what he wants no matter who he has to go through to get it. But when he meets Sarah, a strung-out stripper indebted to her sleazebag boss, he finds something more valuable than all the bank loot he’s just stolen: raunchy, filthy, unapologeti Read more of this blog post »

Kevis Hendrickson Thanks for the friendship, Jason. I didn't want to come off as confrontational in that thread. But it really ticks me off when authors berate other authors to score cheap points. As you say, "we all rise and fall on our own ethics and skill". Words to live by! :)

I loved the trilogy, but my favorites characters were actually the somewhat flawed humans - Boromir, Faramir and Eowyn (and of course Gollum).

My dog's name is Calypso, Caly for short.
