Happy 18th anniversary to my wonderful hubby, Stacey. It has been an amazing adventure so far and I look forward to many more (and if we are lucky we’ll soon be able to legally say we are married!!)

Trying
Been dealing with some mixture of winter blahs, depression, and loss recently. It seems like I haven’t been able to do much of anything creative. I decided to try journaling - with the intent of there being no specific reason; jotting down whatever comes to mind. It’s been three days in and I’m slowly getting into it. My goal is to at least fill the book I am using. We’ll see how it goes.

My brother in law found this photo of me and our kitty Trevor circa 1997. I think this was close to the time we adopted him.

Today my partner and I had to say goodbye to our little buddy, Trevor. He joined our family 17 years ago when he was discovered in the hallway of our friend’s apartment. Though he was a little guy, he was quite a character and a huge presence in our house. He will be greatly missed.

"Anybody who doesn’t show love towards gay & lesbian people is insulting God. They are not just homophobic - they are actually Godophobic because God loves every one of those people." - Archbishop Diarmuid Martin of Dublin

To travel or not to travel
My partner Stacey and I will be celebrating our 18th anniversary this March. We’ve been debating whether or not to travel back to WDW to celebrate. We were just there in December, but that really isn’t a reason not to go because we know we would still have a wonderful time. We’ve got some points saved that could pay for airfare, and we have the option of getting the free dining plan - so we’d got ways to save. I think we’re both a little worried about what ifs. For example - what if we need to replace the garbage disposal, or the fence, or sump pump. Those damn what ifs - why do they tend to feel so much bigger than they really are.
I have a feeling if we don’t go in March, we will make another trip sometime this year, though it would be really nice to be somewhere special on our anniversary. That isn’t to say we haven’t gone away on that day before - but WDW is so much more magical than some of the other places. If we don’t go to FL, I know we’ll at least do something fun and make the most of the day.
