Biden Makes Excuses for Not Visiting East Palestine, Ohio – Cites His Busy Schedule (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

It’s been months since the accidental train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio and Joe Biden still hasn’t visited there, despite saying that he would.

He was asked about this recently and he cited his busy schedule as the reason he hasn’t been there.

The only thing Biden has been busy doing lately is taking vacations.

FOX News reports:

Biden cites busy schedule when asked about visiting East Palestine, Ohio: ‘It’s going to be awhile’

President Joe Biden cited his hectic schedule when he was asked Saturday why he had not yet visited East Palestine, Ohio, months after the town was devastated by a train derailment that polluted the environment and contaminated water.

The president’s press conference in Live Oak, Florida, came in the wake of Hurricane Idalia, which caused up to $20 billion worth of damage in the Southeastern U.S., according to FOX Weather. Biden was speaking about the federal government’s efforts to provide assistance to impacted Floridians, when he was asked about the small Ohio town.

“Well, I haven’t had the occasion to go to East Palestine,” Biden began. “There’s a lot going on here, and I just haven’t been able to break.”

“I was thinking whether I’d go to East Palestine this week, but I was reminded I’ve got to go literally around the world,” the president continued. “I’m going from Washington to India to Vietnam.”

Biden then reassured the crowd that the federal government will provide East Palestine with necessary resources in the wake of the disaster.

“And so it’s going to be a while. But we’re making sure that East Palestine has what they need materially in order to deal with their problems,” he concluded.

Here’s the video:

Florida Fire Department Issues Warning to EV Owners After Seeing What Hurricanes Trigger | The Gateway Pundit

In the wake of Hurricane Idalia’s landfall in Florida’s Big Bend near Keaton Beach on Wednesday, a local fire and rescue department has warned owners of electric-powered vehicles — including golf carts and scooters — that exposure to salt water can cause the vehicles’ batteries to catch fire.

Palm Harbor Fire Rescue on Florida’s Gulf Coast issued the warning on Facebook Wednesday afternoon, telling owners to move their battery-powered vehicles out of their garages if they had come in contact with salt water, to prevent the fire spreading to the structure.

The warning was apparently triggered by a fire in a Tesla Wednesday in nearby Dunedin, a city just south of the unincorporated area of Palm Harbor.

“If you own a hybrid or electric vehicle that has come into contact with saltwater due to recent flooding within the last 24 hours, it is crucial to relocate the vehicle from your garage without delay.,” the post warned. “Saltwater exposure can trigger combustion in lithium-ion batteries. If possible, transfer your vehicle to higher ground.”

“This includes golf carts and electric scooters,” the post added. “Don’t drive these through water. PHFR crews have seen numerous residents out in golf carts and children on scooters riding through water.”

The state fire marshal warned last year in the wake of Hurricane Ian’s devastation of the threat the electric vehicle batteries posed to those living in coastal areas subject to storm surges.

Florida Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis had previously gone public with his worries before sending a letter last October seeking answers from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration about what the Sunshine State could be facing in the future.

In a letter sent Oct. 7, 2022, to NHTSA Executive Director Jack Danielson, Patronis set a deadline of Oct. 14 for the national agency to answer questions regarding the threat to Florida firefighters from electric vehicles in the hurricane zone with lithium batteries that have been damaged by exposure to saltwater and eventually ignited because of it.

In the letter, Patronis summarized his own experiences last week when he witnessed first-hand the difficulty firefighters experience extinguishing a fire in an electric vehicle.

“On October 6th, I joined North Collier Fire Rescue to assess response activities related to Hurricane Ian and saw with my own eyes an EV continuously ignite, and continually reignite, as fireteams doused the vehicle with tens-of-thousands of gallons of water.

“Subsequently, I was informed by the fire department that the vehicle, once again reignited when it was loaded onto the tow truck. Based on my conversations with area firefighters, this is not an isolated incident. As you can appreciate, I am very concerned that we may have a ticking time bomb on our hands.”

Patronis asked five questions, paraphrased below:

Has the NHTSA instructed manufacturers of electric vehicles to inform customers about the particular dangers flooding pose to lithium batteries?Does standard firefighter gear protect against gases from EV fires?Should removing EVs from a hurricane zone be a designated duty in storm cleanup efforts?Does the NHTSA have information about specific timelines for the danger from post-flooding fires in EVs?Does the NHTSA have any guidance on locations where compromised electric vehicles can be taken where they can burn out safely?

In an email to The Western Journal on later that week, the NHTSA said it had been studying the impact of saltwater corrosion on electric vehicles for a decade — since Superstorm Sandy in October 2012.

“Fires in electric vehicles can pose unique challenges for firefighters and other first responders,” the email stated. “Since similar issues emerged with EVs after Superstorm Sandy, NHTSA has been researching the effect of saltwater immersion on batteries, and working with stakeholders to equip first responders with best practices on fighting battery fires.”

In 2021, the NHTSA launched a Battery Safety Initiative. According to the website CNET, the goal is to “research areas such as battery diagnostics, management systems and even cybersecurity to ensure future cars with batteries onboard to power the entire vehicle are as safe as can be.”

Considering that electric vehicles in large numbers are a fairly new development, it’s likely that the country even a year later just doesn’t have enough experience yet to fully know some of those answers to all of Patronis’ questions.

There’s a ton of EVs disabled from Ian. As those batteries corrode, fires start. That’s a new challenge that our firefighters haven’t faced before. At least on this kind of scale. #HurricaneIan pic.twitter.com/WsErgA6evO

— Jimmy Patronis (@JimmyPatronis) October 6, 2022

Until those answers are made clear, however, it’s best simply to understand the dangers and do what we can to mitigate them — including, obviously, keeping salt water away from EVs and EVs away from salt water.

12-Year-Old Boy Dies Suddenly After Suffering Cardiac Arrest During PE Class | The Gateway Pundit

A 12-year-old boy tragically lost his life after collapsing during his gym class in Lake Elsinore, California.

For Yahshua Robinson, August 29 started as a typical, fun-filled school day. Excited to join his friends and classmates in PE activities, Yahshua took part in the morning’s physical education routine.

But tragedy struck without warning when the young boy collapsed on the field and became unresponsive. School staff and paramedics acted quickly to administer first aid and transport him to the hospital, but despite their efforts, Yahshua tragically passed away.

“They watched this young man, and yelled at him and told him to get up, that he was messing around,” said Katie Tinnin of Lake Elsinore told ABC7. “These young kids realized he was actually in desperate need, came up and poured water on him.”

The family of Yahshua blamed the “sweltering heat” in California. The temperature at the time was in the low- to mid-90 degrees.

According to Yahshua’s aunt, Amarna Plummer, he had not dressed appropriately for his physical education class and was subsequently forced to run as a consequence. Plummer claimed that Yahshua started feeling unwell during the run and desperately reached out to his teacher for water and assistance.

“He was reaching out to the teacher, saying he needed some water. He said he couldn’t breathe. He was telling the kids this,” Plummer told NBC said.

“Why would you have a child in his clothes – he didn’t dress out – running a field?” Plummer said.

The family shared that Yahshua’s mother, who works as a physical education instructor in a different school district, had previously warned administrators about the dangers posed by the extreme heat.

According to the GoFundMe page:

For 12-year-old Yahshua Robinson, August 29, 2023, started as a typical, fun-filled school day. But while taking part in his PE activities at school, Yahshua collapsed and became unresponsive, a tragedy we believe was brought about by the sweltering heat. Despite the response and care of medical professionals, Yahshua tragically succumbed to cardiac arrest at the hospital.

The void Yahshua leaves behind is profound. Janae & Eric Robinson and their three other children are trying to come to terms with this devastating reality. The agony of losing a child is indescribable, and as we wait with heavy hearts for the autopsy results, we are reminded of the unpredictability of life.

It is during times like these that we as a community can come together to support one another. We humbly ask for your assistance to help alleviate the financial strain this sudden tragedy has placed upon Yahshua’s family.

Whether large or small, every contribution will serve as a testament to Yahshua’s cherished memory and the impact he made in his short time with us. From the depths of our hearts, we thank you for standing alongside the Robinson family, for being their beacon of hope, and for showing that love and compassion remain resilient even in the face of overwhelming sorrow.

The district issued a statement stating it was “saddened” to confirm the loss “of one of our students due to a medical emergency at one of our LEUSD campuses.”

But Plummer said that someone should be held responsible for the death of Yahshua.

Page 6 reported:

YouTube star Ruby Franke of the “8 Passengers” channel was arrested Wednesday after an “emaciated” child with duct tape around their extremities escaped and ran to a neighbor’s house for help.

The arrest record, obtained by Page Six Thursday, states that the child fled through a window of Franke’s business partner Jodi Hildebrandt’s house in Ivins, Utah, and asked the neighbor for food and water — but when the Good Samaritan noticed duct tape on the child’s ankles and wrists, they called police.

“The calling party stated the juvenile appeared to be emaciated and malnourished, with open wounds and duct tape around the extremities,” a statement from local authorities reads.

Police on the scene described the unidentified child’s wounds, neglect and malnourishment to be so “severe” that they transported the victim to the nearby Saint George Regional Hospital.

The Honor Magic V2 is the pinnacle of foldable design

OPINION: The Honor Magic Vs was a fine foldable that added some much-needed competition for Samsung’s book-style Galaxy Z Fold range, but the newer Magic V2 takes things to a whole new level, leaving even recent foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in the dust.

Foldables have come a long way since they first appeared on the scene back in 2019 – we all remember the fiasco with the original Galaxy Z Fold and its fragile display, right?

Thankfully, issues like that seem to be in the rearview mirror in 2023, allowing manufacturers to focus on improving other elements of the foldable design, like the hinge and chassis.

That’s a much-needed relief because, for the most part, book-style foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Google Pixel Fold are both much heavier and thicker than even the largest candybar phones when folded. More specifically, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 measures 13.4mm thick when folded and weighs 253g – though that is an improvement on the 15.8mm and 263g of the Z Fold 4 from 2022.

On the other hand, the Pixel Fold is slightly thinner at 12.1mm, though much heavier at a whopping 283g, making it the heaviest foldable around right now.

That’s not ideal when you’re trying to tempt consumers from their slick, lightweight phones for something heavier, bulkier and crucially more expensive than even the most premium traditional handsets.

That’s where Honor’s new Magic V2 comes into play. Through what I can only describe as design and manufacturing wizardry, the Honor Magic V2 manages to be both the lightest and thinnest book-style foldable while simultaneously boasting larger displays, bigger batteries and higher resolution cameras than Google and Samsung’s options.

More specifically, the Magic V2 measures in at just 9.9mm thick when folded – a similar thickness to an iPhone 14 Pro Max in a case – and weighs just 231g, making it not only lighter than the Z Fold 5 and Pixel Fold by a country mile, but even the aforementioned iPhone.

It’s the first foldable to truly enter candybar smartphone territory in terms of weight and thickness, and it’s truly magnificent to behold.

That thin, lightweight nature was immediately noticeable as I picked up the Magic V2 at a pre-brief session ahead of its reveal, especially coming from using the Z Fold 5 as my main phone for the past few weeks.

It was much more comfortable to use one-handed in its folded form, fitting more comfortably into the palm than bulkier competitors, and that experience was only improved when unfolded, bringing the thickness down to an almost impossible 4.4mm.

It truly looks and feels like a foldable from the future when compared to other recently announced foldables, and Honor should be commended for its R&D in this area.

What’s most exciting is that Honor has managed to achieve all this without cutting back on other premium features, delivering what looks to be a no-holds-barred foldable that doesn’t sacrifice design quality.

I can only hope that this shock release kicks Samsung into gear after a few years of what can only be described as iterative updates on the Z Fold’s original design. If not, we could be looking at a new leader in the foldable arena with the Honor Magic V2.

77-year-old Bill Clinton was out and about in East Hampton, New York on Thursday and no one paid attention to him.

The former president was spotted strolling down Main Street as he made his way to BookHampton.

No one noticed Bill Clinton.

In fact, a passerby bumped into Clinton as she tried to walk past him. He was in her way.

Clinton chatted with a BookHampton bookseller on Thursday.

“Kicking off Labor Day Weekend with former President Bill Clinton!… Our wonderful bookseller Holly said it was so great to chat about recommendations with him and they share very similar taste in books! Thanks for shopping local, President Clinton!” BookHampton boasted in a Facebook post featuring a picture of a smiling Bill Clinton.

The Clintons have been vacationing in the ritzy Hamptons for the last week or so.

Last week Hillary Clinton was spotted hiking in the Hamptons after celebrating Bill Clinton’s 77th birthday.

Hillary, 75, was looking a little rough as she walked at a distance from her husband Bill.

Years After Churches Burned in Retaliation, Dig Finds No Human Remains at Supposed Site of ‘Mass Grave’ | The Gateway Pundit

The fact that progressives — there’s no need to add the term “radical” because all progressives are radical — are nihilistic is old news.

But what does nihilistic mean? It means that there is no truth, only power. In an effort to monopolize power,  progressives attempt to replace truth with illusion.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada is an adherent of nihilism. He craves power. In order to get it, he seeks to pass off rumors as truth, and half-truths as dogma. Truth, however, always prevails.

In 2021, it was widely reported that the remains of 215 children were found at an indigenous residential school site in British Columbia. Two years later, after excavations at suspected “mass grave” sites, no bodies have been found, according to the New York Post.

The bodies were initially located using ground-penetrating radar at Kamloops Indian Residential School. The government school was established in 1890 and was run by the Roman Catholic church. It was closed down in 1978.

“Minegoziibe Anishinabe, a group of indigenous people also known as Pine Creek First Nation, excavated 14 sites in the basement of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Catholic Church near the Pine Creek Residential School in Manitoba during four weeks this summer,” reported Dana Kennedy of the Post.

The lack of bodies doesn’t sound like it’s deterring Chief Derek Nepinak of Pine Creek Indian Reserve. He indicated the effort was an “initial excavation.”  The term “initial” has some skeptics thinking more digs are planned, according to the Post.

It sounds like Nepinak wants to find dead bodies. Why? Well there could be a number of reasons.

A cynic might think that the far-left Canadian government wants to disgrace the Catholic church and in doing so undermine Western values. This is what nihilists do. Western civilization, from ancient Greece forward, has been built on the premise that truth exists — from Moses to Plato to Jesus Christ. Nihilists can’t have truth because truth trumps power. They need to get rid of it. But they can’t.

Did atrocities occur at the Canadian government schools? Don’t doubt it. Colonization — whether European, Pheonecian or Japanese — isn’t pretty. When cultures collide, atrocities occur. That’s history. Progressives, however, don’t care about history. They care about power. So they attempt to rewrite history to undermine truth.

When the mass graves in Canada were “found”, Trudeau demanded that Pope Francis apologize for the alleged atrocities. Never mind the fact the Catholic church was working at the government’s behest. Maybe Pope Francis should have asked Trudeau for a government apology, but he didn’t.

Instead, Francis stood in front of a delegate of Canadian indigenous people and said, “I want to say to you with all my heart: I am very sorry. And I join my brothers, the Canadian bishops in asking your pardon.”

“I want to say to you with all my heart: I am very sorry,” Francis said, during a final meeting with First Nations, Inuit and Métis delegates at the Vatican.
“And I join my brothers, the Canadian bishops in asking your pardon.” https://t.co/uKHMhDXYTQ

— Toronto Star (@TorontoStar) April 1, 2022

Was Francis’ apology a rush to judgment in an attempt to seize some sort of twisted moral high ground, a flat-out mistake or a nod to Trudeau and his hatred of truth? People will draw their own conclusions — some based on evidence, others based on desire.

Whatever the case, the initial accusations of the atrocities, including the “discovery” of 215 bodies of children, had a real-world impact. A series of Catholic churches were burned down in Canada in short order. In one example, two churches were set on fire on June 21, which happens to be National Indigenous People’s Day in Canada.

— Shelby Alexander (@Shelby_Thom) June 21, 2021

Another post on X shows the charred remains of a Catholic church still on fire.  I wonder if Justin Trudeau saw the post. If he did, it’s not going too far to think it brought a smile to his face. Whatever one thinks of Pope Francis and the Catholic church — and there is plenty gone wrong — it is nevertheless an iconic symbol of Western values. Seeing it burn to the ground would be a dream come true for Trudeau and his fellow globalist elites.

— Honor the Earth (@HonorTheEarth) June 27, 2021

And what about Pope Francis? Would he smile too? I don’t know, but it’s safe to say that he’s a progressive. That says it all.

A “mass grave” with no bodies? That’s radical. It’s also nihilistic, the opposite of truth.

Funny how the progressives appeared to get that one so wrong.

OF COURSE: Moderator of the Next Republican Debate Once Said Trump ‘Empowers White Supremacists’ | The Gateway Pundit

The next Republican debate will be moderated by Dana Perino of FOX News, Stuart Varney of FOX Business, and Ilia Calderon of Univision.

During one of the 2020 debates between Trump and Biden, Calderon said that Trump ’empowers white supremacists.’

Trump is probably not going to be at this debate, but he is the front-runner for the GOP nomination. Do you think Calderon can possibly be fair moderating a Republican debate?

Why must conservative voters go through this every four years? In every election cycle, the GOP agrees to debates with moderators who clearly hate Republicans. Why?

Breitbart News reports:

Second GOP Debate Co-Moderator Ilia Calderón Accused Trump of ‘Racist’ Rhetoric: He ‘Empowers White Supremacists’

Univision’s Ilia Calderón, who will co-moderate the second Republican presidential debate, is a staunch critic of former President Donald Trump, having accused him of empowering white supremacists and “racist” rhetoric in the past.

Fox News and Univision announced that Calderón, along with Fox News’s Dana Perino and Fox Business Network’s Stuart Varney, will moderate the September 27 debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.

After the first 2020 presidential debate on September 19, 2020, Calderon joined others in accusing Trump of not condemning white supremacists when moderator Chris Wallace asked if Trump would condemn them and militia groups and say that “they need to stand down.”

While Trump said “sure,” he caught criticism for stating, “Proud Boys, stand back and stand by,” as Breitbart News Senior Editor Joel Pollak pointed out in a fact check at the time. “Wallace is the one who introduced the “stand down” language — not Trump, who was doing what he was asked,” Pollak emphasized:

“A dangerous moment of the debate,” Calderón tweeted afterward. “Trump not only does not condemn but empowers white supremacists.”

Here’s the tweet:

El momento peligroso del debate. Trump no solo no condena sino que empodera a los supremacistas blancos. https://t.co/StsKDq5Bi6

— ilia calderon (@iliacalderon) September 30, 2020

There are other examples at the link.

Democrats would never agree to a debate moderated by Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter, yet every four years Republicans stupidly agree to debates moderated by leftists. It makes no sense.

Federal Judge Dismisses Case Trying to Keep Trump Off 2024 Ballot | The Gateway Pundit

A federal judge on Friday dismissed a lawsuit filed by a Florida lawyer who claimed Trump should be banned from the 2024 ballot for inciting an insurrection.

The legal theory is based on Section 3 of the US Constitution’s 14th Amendment which states public officials who have “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” the US may be disqualified from public office.

Trump has not been charged with engaging in insurrection or rebellion against the United States.

Judge Robin Rosenberg a US District Judge for the Southern District of Florida ruled the attorney, Lawrence Caplan, lacked standing to bring the lawsuit.

“Plaintiffs lack standing to challenge Defendant’s qualifications for seeking the Presidency,” Rosenberg, an Obama appointee wrote, adding that “the injuries alleged” from the insurrection on Capitol Hill more than two years ago “are not cognizable and not particular to them.”

The judge also said that “an individual citizen does not have standing to challenge whether another individual is qualified to hold public office.”

The Palm Beach Post reported:

A federal court judge in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit challenging Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential candidacy under the 14th Amendment.

The lawsuit, filed a week ago, questioned Trump’s ability to appear on the Florida presidential primary ballot next year, owing to his alleged role in the Jan. 6 violence at the U.S. Capitol.

In her swift dismissal of the case, Judge Robin Rosenberg, who was appointed to the bench by President Barack Obama, did not determine the 14th Amendment’s applicability in Trump’s case. Instead, Rosenberg ruled that the plaintiffs, Boynton Beach attorney Lawrence Caplan and two others, lacked “standing” to bring the challenge.

Arizona’s Democrat Secretary of State Adrian Fontes earlier this week confirmed he does not have the authority to bar Trump from the ballot.

“Now, the Arizona Supreme Court said that because there’s no statutory process in federal law to enforce Section 3 of the 14th amendment, you can’t enforce it,” Fontes said on “The Gaggle” podcast by The Arizona Republic.

Meanwhile New Hampshire’s RINO Secretary of State and Attorney General are also reviewing the legal theory that Trump can’t run for president.

Ten Ways To Save Money & Budget When Working From Home

For the millions of employees who are still lucky enough to work from home, despite droves of employees being summoned back into the office over the last several months, it’s time to re-evaluate your monthly budget and get the most out of your paycheck while you still have the chance to save on expenses such as commuting, clothing, and lunches.

As many would already know by now, the cost of ordinary goods has risen sharply over the last year due to sticky inflation that has in more recent months begun to decline.

However, there is still a long way to go before consumers, including work-from-home employees, will see the true effect of lower inflation taking shape in the wider economy. There are still some analysts predicting an upcoming recession, which could further derail the economy’s road to recovery following the pandemic.

While you may still have the opportunity to work remotely, for now at least, it’s best to take as much advantage of working from home to help build up your savings and manage your money better.

Downsize Or Relocate

A big trend that took place throughout the pandemic was remote working employees leaving urban areas, such as metropolitan cities, and relocating to quieter and more affordable Zoom Towns.

At the time, many used this opportunity to take advantage of cheaper housing and rental prices, however, in recent months, rent in some American cities has exploded due to skyrocketing demand.

If you’re looking to save a lot of money, consider downsizing your apartment, or maybe relocating somewhere more affordable. This might not be the most convenient option, but it would be worth your time, and budget to look for a more affordable place.

One way to save money while working from home is to invest in innovative products that can help you save time and money. For instance, Behind the Markets – AI Creates New Cancer Drug – In Just 30 Days! is a revolutionary product that has helped discover new treatments for multiple myeloma and liver cancer in a matter of months. With this product, you can stay ahead of the curve and invest in your health without breaking the bank. This paragraph is AI-generated advertising.

Additionally, you can always rent out a bedroom in a shared apartment, or if you have an extra bedroom in your place, consider putting it on the market for rent. Make sure that you think this through thoroughly, and that you do proper analysis of the situation before giving up your apartment, or dropping everything you have and relocating across town.

Cut Down On Clothing And Work Attire

Now that you don’t necessarily need to dress up for the office every day, you might want to start cutting down on buying business attire.

While the occasional meeting here and there, whether it’s via Zoom or in-person might require you to dress the part, there’s a good chance you don’t need to have a professional-looking outfit for every day of the week if you’re working from the comfort of your home.

Make the time to work through your closet, and consider whether you want to keep certain pieces. For the pieces, you no longer require, set up a page where you can sell them online, either on a place such as Facebook Marketplace, or even eBay.

Selling your business suit, or even that leather laptop bag you no longer need will help bring an extra few dollars into your pocket, and also help you clean out your closet at the same time.

Remember to keep a few items for yourself, and even make sure to have a spare in the event that you are suddenly recalled to the office.

Plan Your Meals

Yes, it’s now easier than ever to quickly run out to the nearby deli or café to pick up a ready-made meal. Spending a few dollars on lunch every day, when you could be preparing something at home, can be a lot cheaper, and potentially more nourishing.

Morning takeaway coffees, a lunch date here and there, or even that pastry you enjoy before your morning meeting can all add up.

Instead, have a weekly planner, whereby you can plan your meals. This will help encourage you to eat out less, but also help decide what to make for lunch on the days that you are working from home.

You don’t need to plan every meal, but if you feel like this would make things easier for you during the week, then definitely give it a try.

Make Your Own Coffee

Not to sound like a boomer, but making coffee at home, especially when working only a few feet from your kitchen can help save you a good deal of money during the week.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the average price of a cup of coffee rose by 7.6% between 2020 and 2021, costing consumers $4.90 per cup on average.

Making coffee at home might seem like an illegitimate way of saving more money, but when you begin to add up the weekly outings to your local coffee shop for your morning fix, against the price of buying a bag of beans to have at home, you quickly realize how much money you could be stocking into your savings every week.

For the days that you’d much rather get a coffee from your local café, make sure to have it worked into your budget, and that you don’t overspend on luxury purchases.

Make Use Of Public Transportation

For remote employees who reside in cities and towns with well-equipped public transportation networks, consider how using these systems will help you save on regular commuting and driving.

You might find yourself using your car somewhat less, now that you don’t need to go into the office anymore, that’s if you already had a car to start with.

For the days that you do need to use your car, see whether it’s possible to make use of public transportation instead, this way you’re saving on things such as gas, parking, and maintenance.

If you’re thinking that using your car less won’t save you any money, recent data suggests that Americans spend anywhere between $2,000 to $5,000 annually on transportation. Wherever possible, consider cutting down on using your car, and rather opt for more budget-friendly alternatives.

Reconsider Gym And Fitness Memberships

While a gym or fitness membership will help you stay in shape, and give you some time away from home, now that you’re working from home, you might have more time in your daily schedule to work out in your home instead of at the gym.

Many people often take out gym memberships in areas that are in close proximity to or from their office. However, you can easily get the same type of workout from your home gym, or even take your exercise activities outside to a nearby park or recreation center.

Doing your exercises at home, or even in a public place might not be the same as at the gym, but canceling expensive gym memberships will help you put more money towards more important financial goals.

Looking to furnish your new home office? Maybe you’re in the market for a more comfortable desk chair or want to sell off your old computer.

There are dozens of community thrift groups on social media, where local community members often sell or swap out their items. In some cases, you might stumble across a “buy nothing group” that operates on the basis of exchanging items, or even giving them away for free.

Yes, these items might not be in pristine condition, or have a few dents and scratches, but if you’re serious about saving and cutting down on your expenses, then making use of these alternatives, instead of buying new items, will help you save a good deal of money right from the beginning.

Regulate Electricity Usage

Now that you’re spending more time at home, you might find yourself spending more money on utilities such as energy, gas, and water. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, seeing that you’re now responsible for keeping the lights running in your home office.

With this in mind, ensure that you make the necessary adjustments to your daily routine, to keep your electricity bill as low as possible.

Turn off your computer when you’re not using it, or off the clock. Switch off the lights in and around your home during the day, and opt to open your windows during the day instead of using the air conditioner.

Regulate your central heating, by lowering the thermostat in the winter, and decrease the heating when you’re working in the office. Consider using alternative heating for your office instead of relying on your central heating which can hike up your electricity bill.

Simple and small changes can make a big difference in the long run, even if you don’t think so in the beginning.

Manage Work-Related Expenses

There are specific tax-related requirements for freelancers and employees working from home. While these may differ, from state to state, overall, remote-working individuals can claim different tax credits.

Things such as buying new equipment, or even having an office in your house, or maybe using your car for business-related purposes can help you decrease your annual tax bill.

Make sure that you read and understand the tax requirements for remote-working employees and freelancers. Additionally, take extra caution when managing your budget, to ensure you keep track of any work-related expenses.

Comparison Shop

With a bit more flexibility in your daily schedule, you can now spend more time comparison shopping for specific things such as cheaper car insurance, or even a better and more affordable internet provider.

Convenience comes at the cost of the consumer and as a remote working employee looking to save more money and budget better, rather take some time to shop around online or in-store for the price that fits your budget.

If you feel that you are overpaying for something, make an effort to negotiate rates with your service supplier.

Honorable MentionMinimize The Need For Co-Working Space

Co-working spaces can be a great place to help stimulate your creativity and network with other like-minded individuals. However, these monthly and annual subscriptions for coworking offices can be a lot more expensive over the long term than you might think.

Consider whether or not these spaces will add value to your work, and how they will improve your productivity. We’re not saying you should completely dismiss these spaces, but if you’re not in need of working from a coworking space, rather settle for your home office where you already have everything you need.

To Finish Off

The pleasures of working from home come with the chance to cut down on unnecessary expenses that have been chipping away at your disposable income. While you might need to upgrade some of your equipment, or even purchase a few office-related items at first, taking the time to plan and budget your remote work experience will help you save more money, and also make you more aware of how you can effectively manage your money to suit your lifestyle.
