What does the star mean on Apple Music?

If you are a subscriber to Apple Music, then you may have noticed something during browsing for music to play. Some tracks have a single star next to them. If you mouse over it, that star changes to a heart icon in case you want to “love” the track. But what does the star mean on Apple Music, and why is it there?
QUICK ANSWER
On Apple Music, the single star next to a song means that the track is extremely popular with many Apple Music subscribers. Apple, therefore, thinks you would like it too, and so the star is a recommendation of sorts to check out the song.

What does the star mean on Apple Music?If you are an Apple Music subscriber or use the Music or iTunes app to listen to your downloaded music, you have a star system for each song. You can rank each song from one star to five stars, depending on how much you liked the song. Apple Music then sends this data to its algorithms which calculate what to recommend to you next based on your listening history and music tastes.
All of the star rating data is then aggregated, and Apple works out the most popular tracks ever across a wide spectrum of albums and genres. If you look at the top-selling albums of all time in your favorite genre or singer, you’re bound to find at least one star next to a song.

But if you look at the star icon, it is very faint to the point where you may very well miss it if you’re not looking closely enough.
Since this isn’t a feature that Apple is shoving into your face, it’s really just a harmless feature that recommends good songs if you come across a new album for the first time.
How to rate songs on Apple MusicIf you want to start rating music on Apple Music, then it’s very easy to do.
Go to the song in Apple Music.To the left of the download button on the right-hand side, you will see five star-shaped icons (you might have to mouse over the area for them to show up).Click the star that represents your rating preference. For example, if you think the song worth four stars, click the fourth star to the right.

As Ben was walking along the border wall, you can see countless illegals sitting against the wall, waiting to turn themselves in. Remote areas like this were also used for cartels to run drugs but are also being used now to bring in illegals.
Ben had gone up to numerous individuals that were waiting and asked them in Spanish where they were planning to go. Some said Mississippi, California, Pennsylvania, Nashville, Maryland and New York, among other locations.
He was offering help when he noticed a girl looked sick. He called for help on a satellite phone to the Border Patrol and asked one of them to translate. It turns out she had not eaten in two days.
Ben put the blame on the humanitarian groups that are showing up at the border to help because they are enabling the cartels. The man wearing the black mask is telling the group of illegals not to talk to Ben.
Ben Bergquam: “This guy is coaching them as we speak, this leftist out here who is aiding and embedding the cartels telling them not to talk to us, saying I’m a Trump supporter.”
In the latter part of the video, you can see the humanitarian worker what appears to be commands to the illegals. Ben had confronted them on that because they were almost acting like law enforcement. Bergquam: “He followed us out here to tell them not to talk to us, not to tell us information.”

Soros-backed Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams and his 78-year-old mother were carjacked at gunpoint late last month.
Williams was helping his mother into her car when armed masked men held them up at gunpoint and took off with the elderly woman’s belongings.
Williams said in an interview that having a gun pointed directly at him was “horrific” and it made him think of crime victims.

Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams and his 78-year-old mother were carjacked at gunpoint Monday night (Oct. 16) in New Orleans, his spokesman said.
“OPDA confirms that DA Williams and his 78-year-old mother were carjacked at gunpoint as he was helping her into a car,” office spokesman Keith Lampkin said in response to questions from Fox 8.
“DA Williams and his mother were unharmed and both thank the NOPD for their hard work tonight and every night responding to crime victims.”
The New Orleans Police Department says two armed suspects demanded Williams’ black Lincoln Navigator around 10 p.m. in the 1000 block of Race Street in the Lower Garden District. Williams says the suspects were not able to get very far, because he kept the key fob in his pocket.
Later in the evening, Williams and his wife Elizabeth appeared unharmed while discussing the night’s events with NOPD officers outside their home Tuesday around 12:40 a.m.
“It’s been a long night,” Williams told a Fox 8 reporter at the scene.
Williams was carjacked at gunpoint after he campaigned on social justice reform and dismissed more than 66% of the city’s violent felony cases during his first few months in office.

The George Soros-backed Orleans Parish, Louisiana, district attorney and his mother were carjacked Monday night in New Orleans by two suspects who allegedly pointed high-powered automatic rifles at them, according to reports.
When Williams was elected in 2020, he ran on a platform of social justice reform with intentions of finding “alternatives to incarceration” for some criminals, while also changing what he considered an “ineffective and unfair money bail system.”
One of his campaign backers, billionaire Democratic donor George Soros, reportedly donated $220,000 to the Louisiana Justice and Public Safety PAC that year, which helped fund ad campaigns against Williams’ opponent, according to the Capital Research Center.
“Being more selective about prosecutions will allow us to focus on the crimes that matter most to all of us,” Williams said after being sworn in. “We’ve got to go beyond punishment and invest in our community.”
According to an analysis from the Metropolitan Crime Commission in 2022, Williams’ tactics have resulted in a “drastic decline in accountability for violent felony offenders.”

A White House fence was vandalized Saturday night with red paint as pro-Palestinian protesters shook the gate to one entrance to the executive mansion as some chanted “F–k Joe Biden,” the New York Post reported.
The demonstrators also covered the General Marquis de Lafayette Statue in nearby Lafayette Park with graffiti and Palestinian flags, according to social media posts.
The protesters were rallying against the Biden administration’s support of Israel in the war against Hamas. Some outside the White House were heard chanting “F–k Joe Biden.”
Demonstrators also canted “Free, free Palestine!” and “Cease-fire now!”

Obama recently appeared on ‘Pod Save America,’ a podcast produced by three of his former staffers, and said that ‘all of us’ are to blame for what is unfolding in the Middle East.
This is typical Obama. He did this throughout his presidency whenever a problem arose, which was usually his fault. He always tries to defelect by saying everyone is to blame. America is to blame.
His policies had a lot to do with what is happening now, not that he would ever admit it.

Obama told his former staffers on the Pod Save America Saturday that “all of us are complicit to some degree” in the violence in Gaza, as he appeared to describe a moral equivalence between Hamas murdering Israelis and the Israeli “occupation” of Gaza.
Gaza has not been “occupied” by Israel since 2005, when Israel withdrew all of its soldiers and civilians in a “disengagement” that aimed to reduce violence in the region. Hamas responded by launching thousands of rockets at Israel and starting several wars.
Obama’s remarks, as published by the podcast, are as follows:
If there’s any chance of us being able to act constructively, to do something, it will require an admission of complexity. And maintaining, what on the surface may seem contradictory ideas — that what Hamas did was horrific, and there’s no justification for it; and what is also true is that the occupation [sic] and what’s happening to Palestinians is unbearable. [Applause] And what is also true is that there is a history of the Jewish people that may be dismissed, unless your grandparents, or your great-grandparents, or your uncle or your aunt tell you stories about the madness of antisemitism. And what is true is that there are people right now who are dying who have nothing to do with what Hamas did. And what is true, right — I mean, we can go on for a while. And the problem with the social media, and trying to — TikTok activism, and trying to debate this, on that, is you can’t speak the truth. You can pretend to speak the truth. You can speak one side of the truth, and in some cases you can try to maintain you moral innocence, but that won’t solve the problem.

Google backs out of $15B bay area campus deals
Google has terminated its contracts with Australian developer Lendlease for four major Bay Area development projects.
According to a Nov. 2 CNBC report, the canceled deals include plans for new Google campuses in downtown San Jose, Mountain View, and Sunnyvale. Google and Lendlease had partnered over the past four years on ambitious development plans totaling $15 billion across the four sites.
However, Google decided to end the partnership amid a broader effort to optimize its real estate footprint and cut costs, according to a Google spokesperson.
“As we’ve shared before, we’ve been optimizing our real estate investments in the Bay Area, and part of that work is looking at a variety of options to move our development projects forward and deliver on our housing commitment,” said Alexa Arena, a senior director of development at Google. Lendlease said Google concluded the projects were “no longer mutually beneficial” after a comprehensive review.
The dissolution of the deals casts doubt over Google’s extensive development plans across the Bay Area.The tech giant had planned to build thousands of residential units, including affordable housing, as well as new office space and public parks.
In San Jose, Google’s 80-acre Downtown West project was expected to transform the city’s downtown with up to 7.3 million square feet of office space, 4,000 homes, 15 acres of parks and trails, and 500,000 square feet of retail, cultural, and arts space.
But construction has yet to begin on Downtown West. Sources told CNBC that Google recently laid off much of the development team working on the project.
San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan remained optimistic about Downtown West. “It simply gives them the flexibility needed to get the best possible developers on the project to build 4,000 new homes in our thriving downtown,” Mahan said in a statement.
To advance its San Jose plans, Google had offered community benefits worth up to $200 million. However, most of those funds were tied to the development of office space. With the Lendlease deal dead, it’s unclear if or when those benefits will materialize.
Thursday’s announcement is the latest sign of Google downsizing its real estate footprint and overall workforce amid economic uncertainty. Earlier this year, the tech giant said it would lay off 12,000 employees worldwide, about 6% of its workforce.
Alphabet, Google’s parent company, is aiming to rein in costs and streamline operations after rapid hiring before and during the pandemic resulted in outpaced revenue growth. While sales have rebounded, Alphabet has continued making small cuts across its global workforce.

Republican Daniel Cameron Rising in Kentucky Governor Race – Now a Dead Heat | The Gateway Pundit
There is an election happening in Kentucky this week. Governor Andy Beshear, the incumbent Democrat is facing a challenge from Republican Daniel Cameron.
Just a few weeks ago. Beshear was 16 points ahead. Now the race is a dead heat and it looks like all the momentum is on Cameron’s side.

Kentucky 2023 Poll: Cameron Catches Up to Beshear in Governor’s Race
The final Emerson College Polling survey of Kentucky voters before the 2023 gubernatorial general election finds incumbent Governor Andy Beshear and Attorney General Daniel Cameron in a dead heat: 47% support Beshear and 47% support Cameron. Two percent support someone else and 4% are undecided. Undecided voters were asked which candidate they lean toward at this time; with their support accounted for, Cameron holds a slight advantage with 49% support to Beshear’s 48%.
Since last month’s poll of registered Kentucky voters, Beshear’s initial support has decreased by two points, 49% to 47%, while support for Cameron increased 14 points from 33% to 47%. Undecided voters have reduced by nine points, from 13% undecided to 4% ahead of the Tuesday election.
Spencer Kimball, Executive Director of Emerson College Polling, said, “Cameron appears to have gained ground by consolidating Republican voters who supported former President Donald Trump in the 2020 election. In October, 54% of Trump supporters supported Cameron; now, as election day approaches, that number has jumped to 79% – a 25-point increase. Notably, October’s poll was of registered voters in Kentucky, while this final election poll includes only those who are very likely or have already voted in Kentucky.”
Support for Cameron has increased among older voters in Kentucky since the October poll.
