Yeah, all the Smaug stuff was done in a studio in LA. On the other side of the world. He even said that he didn’t have to go there at all; he just wanted to visit “everybody”. Aka Martin.

Good luck on your original fiction! I have a fanfic author friend who has managed to publish two books while still writing fan fiction. I hope you can continue to do both as well. :)
I won’t lie; doing both at the same time has been really difficult, but I had said when i announced that I’d started a novel that I would try to keep up with fanfic, too, but recent events have made me re-evaluate my priorities and put focus on my novel again, so that’s my focus for the time being. I’m very much hoping to finish it by Christmas! We’ll see, though! Thanks for your luck-wishing! <33333

There is a brilliant Detective, with a strange name, who solves bizarre mysteries, who is tall, and alien from everyone else – and by this Detective’s side is a Partner of the same gender, who can kick butt, helps the Detective relate to the world around them, and who has a very normal name – and oh yes, they are in love.
And then on the OTHER show you have….

listen… I do love speculating BUT I really do not want to read into things too much so… Ben didn’t actually fly half across the world just so he could visit Martin on his last day onThe Hobbit set, did he? I mean, he surely must have had some work to do there, right? why would someone do that for a “colleague“ or even a mere friend?
Well, I’m sure he knew other people on the set, too, like PJ and so forth. But yeah, he just went to visit Martin. That’s what he said. :) :) :)
