All the smug stuff was done elsewhere, right? He didn’t have to go there for work.
Yeah, all the Smaug stuff was done in a studio in LA. On the other side of the world. He even said that he didn’t have to go there at all; he just wanted to visit “everybody”. Aka Martin.
