It wasn’t quite taking a big, satifying piss on his image, but Lizzo still managed to disrespect Karl and that makes me happy

What a legend! (Lizzo, not the fatphobe!)

Oh wow! Sorry for having yet another of these posts so soon, but...

Oh wow! Sorry for having yet another of these posts so soon, but it’s been my longtime practise to thank readers for every new 10,000 hits a story of mine gets, so with 91 of them out there now, sometimes their milestone “birthdays” line up with each other’s! I just spotted tonight that my first series 4 fix-it fic, A Case for Domestic Propinquity, just surpassed 40,000 hits! That’s amazing! This story is the 12th of my 91 currently-posted fics to reach this milestone, so that’s pretty special. This one was my first attempt at fixing the mess that we were left with after series 4, one of many, but the first stab at sorting things out. I’m grateful for all the love you folks have shown it since the series aired. Thank you so much!!

Holy crap, I just happened to wander by and spotted that I...

Holy crap, I just happened to wander by and spotted that I suddenly seem to have 6,700 followers!! That’s unbelievable! June will mark 10 years since I rejoined the world of fanwork and fandom in general, and August will be 10 years since I got myself my humble little tumblr account. In that time, I’ve had or witnessed fights, dramas, mass unfollowings, death threats and invitations to off myself (yes, really!), but all that fades in light of all of the incredibly good things that have come with being a part of a fanworld again. My first fandom was Harry Potter, and JK Rowling ruined it for me, first with that horrific epilogue, secondly by constantly adding “facts” that she hadn’t actually written into her own canon, and thirdly, by outing herself as a massive transphobe and bigot, and it really soured me on things, so I wandered away. Then I discovered the massive acting skills of Benedict Cumberbatch, which brought me to the world of Sherlock, and here I still am a decade later.

I just celebrated my very first fic in this fandom having reached 20,000 hits, and just yesterday someone just left me a comment on the second one, adding that they couldn’t believe I was still answering comments on it. I could have just as easily said (and I think I did!) that I can’t believe that people are still reading my stuff ten years on. And I’m still writing! I’m slower (read: busier!) than I used to be, rocking a full-time job and two part-time ones, which has really eaten into my writing time, but I promise, I’m still here and grateful to be! This world and the fine, fine people in it have literally changed my life and saved me more times than Sherlock and John have saved each other. I’m grateful.

I have friends who would nag me to mention it, so here you go (you know who you are!!): I have a patreon, if you feel inclined. Please don’t feel that you ever have to, or that you need to keep on if you start. But that’s there if it’s a thing you like to do. My account is set up for monthly donations, and if you’d ever just rather send a one-off sort of thing, my email for PayPal is silentauror@yahoo.com (old school, lol!). Meanwhile, thank you for being here, thank you for your friendship, and thank you for reading my stuff. :)

Hey hey, my very first story in the Sherlock fandom,...

Hey hey, my very first story in the Sherlock fandom, Resurrection, just attained 20,000 hits today! It’s mind-blowing to me that people still read this 10-year-old fic even now! Thanks so much for doing that! This story was very experimental on my part, my first attempt in this fandom, my first take on these two characters, plus as it was written pre-series 3, it’s yet another of MANY takes on the “Reichenbach Return” trope - aka, how things could have gone after Sherlock’s return, John’s reaction, and the presence of Mary in John’s life. It’s far from perfect, but I still appreciate all the hits and comments people have left on this one over the past decade. Thank you so much!!

This is why I ignore all the justifications of sexual harassment that start with “Well, maybe he’s autistic and doesn’t understand boundaries! Did you think of that?!?!?”

Every autistic person I know: if you tell them, “This thing you are doing, it bugs me. Please stop.” …They stop. They apologize, and stop, and try very hard not to do the thing again.

Sometimes that’s difficult for them. Stimming is one person’s self-soothing and can be someone else’s extreme distraction. It can be hard to remember how far away to stand from someone while talking with them, especially in a noisy or crowded place. “Don’t smile at me” is especially rough (and imho unreasonable for someone to ask).

But “don’t put your hands on me” is EASY to remember. “Stay away from me” may make them sad, but it’s easy to do.

All those creepy predators who say they “don’t understand boundaries well” are liars.

Because they absolutely don’t violate those boundaries when it’s their manager or boss, or someone they’re asking for money, or anyone else who has the power to cause them problems.

Whoa, sorry to be back again so soon with another of these posts...

Whoa, sorry to be back again so soon with another of these posts (but they do often come in waves!), but!! My story Bridging the Ravine just exceeded 40,000 hits today, becoming the 11th of my 91 currently-posted fics to achieve this little milestone! This was my first time caving and writing the fake-couple-for-a-fic trope and I had a lot of fun with it. I WILL warn for pre-story loss of child, but it’s the sequel that delves a little more into that. This is set at a made up place set in a real place (the Malvern Hills) and I had so much fun with the setting itself, creating a luxurious spa-type getaway which is also a male couples’ therapy centre. I remember editing this one and becoming increased dismayed and disgusted with myself for how many times I caught the phrase “freshly-baked baguette”, hahaha. I edited all of them out but one. Now you can chuckle if you catch it on a re-read, or a first read! :P Meanwhile, huge thanks to all of you who have read this one! It was also a personal record for sheer number of original characters created, and I’m touched by how many of you liked specific people of those OCs, too. :) Thanks so much, everyone! <3333333333333333333333

I didn’t want this to steal thunder from my newest fic,...

I didn’t want this to steal thunder from my newest fic, but… every time a story of mine hits another 10,000 hit milestone, I throw out a quick little thank you to this community for the love and support, and my most popular fic in this fandom by a WIDE margin, is my silly little, almost-crack, porn-with-bonus-feels fic, Best of Three. This baby just reached 150,000 hits, which is just crazy to me! So amazing! Still my only story with over 100K hits, never mind halfway to the next 100K! As of tonight, it’s sitting at a whopping 6,771 kudos, 2,860 bookmarks (1,906 are the publicly-showing ones), and 910 comments. I feel overwhelmed by gratitude for every single hit, every single time someone has said “I wish I could leave kudos again”, or “hey, just back reading this for the eighth time” or whatever. I’m delighted to know that this story is one that people can come back to and get joy from on a reread, not just the first go-around, so thank you, thank you, thank you, for all of that!!!!
