“ The impossible word” is a certain highlight in her collection.

John is married and Mary is expecting her baby within the next few weeks.

A night out with the Yard ends with a John who thinks it’s good idea to get intimate with Sherlock.

Unfortunately he isn’t so sure about it in the morning.

A spectacular hangover and a lot of guilt arises while Sherlock is left with a complete new bunch of problems.

The story deals with John’s torn feelings and Sherlock’s fragile heart in an excellent way.

It erupts in an emotional climax that makes you hold your breath…and cry…trust me!

He not only has a spreadsheet but a whole cupboard in his mind palace where he stows them, along with any/all pertinent information about them: you know, their addresses, internet browsing history, other Tinder chats they’re still carrying on while seeing John, particular tidbits of their personal past that could, say, be used for leverage in a pinch. Unresolved feelings for exes. Allergens. What’s in the drawer of their nightstands. You know: just the basics.

It all depends on the specific circumstances! I've actually written two versions of fake dating for a case, one where the circumstances helped them enormously almost from the outset (Bridging the Ravine), and one where they exacerbated the issues they already had before they got themselves sorted out (The Bells of King's College). I've even done one where they started dating for real during a case but had to keep it a secret because of the case - aka, the reverse! (The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse). There's no one and only way it could go! As all the other fantastic fics written to the same trope would attest! :)

It annoys me when people complain about “all the characters in Heartstopper are queer hurghhh” because… no they’re not. The cishets are just in the background. We see cis straight couples everywhere in Heartstopper, they’re just not main characters. The only (canonically) cishet person we really follow narratively is Tao, but cishets are everywhere in the series. They’re just not the focus. Besides, all the queers conglomerating (by accident and on purpose) is extremely realistic… as any queer person can tell you.

Heartstopper centers queerness, which people find strange because they’re used to media that centers cisheteronormativity. The series just orbits around queerness. But it most definitely does not erase cishets- they’re simply not the focus. Like queerness is in every other series.

THIS. Heteronormativity centres hetero people and makes it seem and feel as though their experience is THE normative human experience, when we queers know that it isn’t the only or the “correct” experience of human sexuality and gender. Heartstopper just brings our community out of the sidelines and into the forefront for once. We’re here. We’re COMMON. We’re normal. And we’re everywhere. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🩷🤍🩵🤎🖤
