I celebrated the Independence of the United States of America today by reading the first five books of Canadian Bryan Lee O'Malley's Scott Pilgrim series of manga-sized and -influenced graphic novels. Altogether, the story is one of a loser post-adolescent, so it is fairly standard for graphic novels, except that the novel is something of a science fiction action-adventure romantic comedy. I read a paltry 19 books this past month, which is not much for me, especially considering that three of the books I read in Anne Gorrick's house in a matter of a few minutes, but I'm about 50 books ahead of where I need to be right now, so I'm doing okay.

Films Watched in June 2010
I didn't watch many films this month, a mere baker's dozen, but I was too busy to. Most were good, and I was happy to relearn how much I love Bridge on the River Kwai, and, luckily, I'm still way ahead of where I need to be to make sure I will have watched 365 films by the time this year is done.
