Four Poems Entitled "The Garden" and a Few Others

Peter Rumora Speaking about Horticultural Collecting, First Reformed Church, Schenectady, NY (26 June 2010)Quite an enjoyable day, one focused on the garden, real, imagined, metaphorical. And the day began at 11 am, in Schenectady's First Reformed Church, with a talk on gardening, horticulture, and the collection of plant specimens by Peter Rumfora. "Plant a Radish, Get a Radish," his talk, was an enjoyable wandering through all kinds of history of gardens and gardeners (and horticulturists, ...

A Reading through Cyberspace

My first reading of this week was a launch reading for three if p then q books published this year, and I performed, potentially worldwide, though almost all of the listeners were sitting in a bar in Manchester, England. Since I wasn't in Manchester, I have no idea what happened at the reading until they began to broadcast Lucy Harvest Clarke and Tom Jenks' readings, which came after mine. The reading organizer, James Davies, was kind enough to send me the following account of the reading, wh...

Garden Poems

Live and Not in Person (A Recap)

My Recording Studio for the Reading, Schenectady, New York (23 June 2010)Today, I gave a reading from my living room, where I was the only person present. This performance was part of the if p then q launch reading and included Lucy Harvest Clarke and Tom Jenks in person in Manchester, England, before a real audience. I broadcast my reading to the world, but most viewers were watching from Manchester. I did, however, hear from people in Scotland, Denmark, Sweden, and Belgium that they watchin...

Live and Not in Person

My next poetry reading will be a performance I do alone, with no audience near me, save for my cat. This will be part of the if p then q  reading launching, among other books, my book, ntst: the collected pwoermds of geof huth. Most of the performers (all except for me) will appear in person in Manchester, England, but most of the program will be viewable, live, via Ustream, if all goes well.

We have practiced using Ustream, but that taught us that things can go wrong. I did broadcast and tape...
