Judge blocks school’s punishment of student who questioned why girl was in boys’ locker room

S

A federal court is blocking Loudoun County School Board (LCSB) from suspending a male student who questioned why a girl was in the boys’ locker room.

A female student who reportedly claims to be male was allegedly recording students in the boys locker room, including one male student who was using the restroom. In the video, a male voice can be heard asking why a girl was in the boys’ space. Two boys were later suspended and accused of sexual harassment over the incident.

Following a lawsuit brought by America First Legal (AFL) on behalf of the boys, the suspension has been temporarily blocked by the court. The court’s order states the suspension “could have serious negative effects” on the student.

“Although the Court is not certain that [the student] will succeed on the merits, the Court finds many of the allegations in the Complaint to be troubling, particularly defendant’s offering a private changing area to plaintiffs but not to the female student accessing the male locker room and defendant’s dismissal of the accusations against a Muslim student who seems to have engaged in similar activity to plaintiffs,” the order reads.

BREAKING: Loudoun County School Board votes to INDEFINITELY uphold controversial policy allowing kids to use bathrooms and locker rooms based on “gender identity” rather biological sex

The Department of Education on the same day declared LCPS illegally discriminated and retaliated against three male students who questioned why the girl was in their locker rooms.

“Loudoun County’s adherence to radical gender ideology has repeatedly placed its students in harm’s way,” Craig Trainor, acting assistant secretary for civil rights at the Department of Education, said in a statement. “We urge Loudoun County to abandon its reliance upon post-modern ideology and instead embrace the requirements of law by coming into compliance with Title IX.”

The administration is asking LCPS to rescind the suspensions.

LCPS policy allows students to use bathrooms and locker rooms based on their “gender identity” rather than biological sex. When first confronted by the Trump administration in July following a February investigation, the district doubled down on its so-called “inclusive” stance and said that even if it wanted to comply, controlling state law prevented them from changing the policy. This assertion has since been challenged by AFL.

LCPS did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

“We are very pleased with the Court’s decision and we look forward to fighting on behalf of our clients,” Ian Prior, Senior Counselor at AFL, said in a statement.

Canceled: Jimmy Kimmel dumped after lies about suspected Charlie Kirk assassin, Trump reacts

Jimmy Kimmel hosting the 2024 Oscars

Disney, which owns ABC, is pulling Jimmy Kimmel’s show Wednesday night and into the future “indefinitely,” a response to the TV host’s wildly inaccurate statement Monday about Tyler Robinson, the man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk last week.

“‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ will be preempted indefinitely,” a Disney spokesperson told Fox News.

BREAKING NEWS: Disney’s ABC just officially canceled the Jimmy Kimmel show indefinitely after the late night host’s recent remarks about Charlie Kirk. This has been confirmed by ABC affiliate groups that verified they would be dropping the host. pic.twitter.com/blieAF8k2s

— Dom Lucre | Breaker of Narratives (@dom_lucre) September 17, 2025

Nexstar Media Group, which owns hundreds of television stations, announced earlier it would preempt Kimmel’s show on its ABC affiliates starting Wednesday night “for the foreseeable future” and would replace it with other programming.

“Mr. Kimmel’s comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse, and we do not believe they reflect the spectrum of opinions, views, or values of the local communities in which we are located,” Nexstar’s broadcasting chief Andrew Alford said in a press release.

“Continuing to give Mr. Kimmel a broadcast platform in the communities we serve is simply not in the public interest at the current time, and we have made the difficult decision to preempt his show in an effort to let cooler heads prevail as we move toward the resumption of respectful, constructive dialogue,” the statement continued.

Earlier Wednesday, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr threatened to take action against ABC after Kimmel’s remarks.

Kimmel said in his monologue Monday, “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them – and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

The suspect, Tyler Robinson, however, is reported by family members to have moved to the left politically in recent months, and Utah officials released texts to his transgender roommate in which he offers the reason he shot and killed the popular activist who clearly was in the MAGA camp.

President Donald Trump reacted to Kimmel’s ouster, saying: “Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done.

“Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!!”

Reports say a gunman is dead, and three officers have died. Another officer was reported in “grave” condition and another in critical. Names were not released immediately.

A York County deputy also was injured, officials reported.

Federal officials said Washington’s resources were being offered to help, and FBI chief Kash Patel said, “Our prayers are with the officers, their families, and the entire York County community.”

Officers reportedly were serving a warrant when an alleged suspect fired on them, NBC reported.

“The alleged shooter is believed to be dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound, the sources added,” according to a report in the Daily Mail.

Nearby schools and hospitals were locked down.

WATCH: FBI probing Armed Queers for possible ties to Charlie Kirk assassin as its trans leader says violence MUST happen

The FBI is now investigating the pro-gun Armed Queers SLC, a Salt Lake City group whose transgender leader openly supports violence, for possible connections to alleged Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson.

Ermiya Fanaeian, who worked on Democrat U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s 2020 presidential campaign, was asked by a reporter: “Some people say that it takes a violent protest to get people to listen. Do you agree or should they remain peaceful?”

“I agree. I absolutely agree,” responded Fanaeian, a student at the University of Utah.

“I’m a member of the LGBTQ community and our liberation, our rights came after the Stonewall riots.”

“I wouldn’t even be able to be a student at this school if it wasn’t for a violent riot that took place within a span of three days.”

“So I absolutely agree that sometimes violence, protests and really riots and those kinds of loud rebellions must take place for tangible change.”

The New York Post reports: “Armed Queers SLC quietly scrubbed its online presence after Kirk was assassinated, but a law enforcement source told The Post that all open-source information on the group was downloaded and handed over to the FBI.”

“Fanaeian and Armed Queers SLC are on investigators’ radar as the FBI has widened its probe to include a potential ‘extended network’ that could have aided Robinson in the Sept. 10 sniper attack at Utah Valley University.”

Fanaeian was originally an anti-gun activist, having founded the local chapter of March for Our Lives, a group belonging to David Hogg, a well-known activist pushing gun restrictions.

But in 2020, Fanaeian launched the Salt Lake City chapter of Pink Pistols “whose mission is to arm LGBTQ people,” according to KUER Radio which profiled Fanaeian.

Is the news we hear every day actually broadcasting messages from God? The answer is an absolute yes! Find out how!

“I used to think that guns were a scary thing,” Fanaeian told the public broadcaster. “Back then, I would have agreed with Joe Biden’s assertion to take everyone’s AR-15s away. And now I own one.”

Ermiya Fanaeian featured in Slug Magazine Ermiya Fanaeian featured in Slug Magazine in June 2021

In an interview with the Deseret News that same year, Fanaeian indicated: “The left’s idea of a ‘gun nut’ typically is white men who are upper class and see this as a hobby that will make their egos bigger.”

“But the reality is this is a form of empowerment for me.”

“As working-class people, we should not be disarmed,” Fanaeian said. “There is everlasting violence against LGBTQ people that oftentimes politicians, on whatever side of the aisle, are not addressing, and we need to be able to protect ourselves. And because of that, I came to this understanding that the March for Our Lives goals do not align with my goals.”

The Daily Utah Chronicle reported that Fanaeian in 2022 co-founded a new student study group at the University of Utah for the Party for Socialism and Liberation, or PSL, “to teach common socialist ideologies, history, texts and lessons about philosophers such as Karl Marx and Vladmir Lenin.”

The inspiration came from “historical communist and socialist revolutionaries of the mid 1900s including Fidel Castro, Angela Davis, Assata Shakur, the Black Panther Party, Bobby Seale and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.”

In an interview Wednesday, former President Barack Obama discussed the assassination of Charlie Kirk, pointing to the rhetoric of President Donald Trump and some of his administration for contributing to and normalizing political vitriol in America.

Speaking at the Jefferson Educational Society in Erie, Pennsylvania, Obama said Trump and his allies calling their opponents “vermin” and “enemies … speaks to a broader problem.”

Obama condemned some in “authority” for trying “to silence discussion” in the nation after Kirk’s murder.

“I didn’t know Charlie Kirk, Obama said. “I was generally aware of some of his ideas. I think those ideas were wrong – but that doesn’t negate that what happened was a tragedy, and I mourn for his family.”

In response, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said in a statement: “Obama used every opportunity to sow division and pit Americans against each other, and following his presidency more Americans felt Obama divided the country than felt he united it.”

Trump unveils changes to U.S. citizenship test

(U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Tyler R. Fraser)

The Trump administration is making changes to the U.S. citizenship test and reimplementing updates made to the test during the president’s first term, but which the Biden administration scrapped.

The changes “to naturalization civics test better assess applicants’ knowledge of U.S. history and government,” U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced Wednesday.

The 2025 test will reimplement the 2020 naturalization civics test. Under the first Trump administration, USCIS updated the 2008 version of the exam to further test an alien’s knowledge of U.S. history and civics. The Biden administration reverted to the 2008 version of the test in 2021.

Like the 2020 version, the 2025 study guide includes 128 possible questions, up from 100 possible questions in 2008. Aliens are required to answer at least 12 out of 20 questions correctly to pass. The passing score remains the same as the 2020 and 2008 test, but now, administrators of the test do not have to ask all 20 questions but can stop once an alien answers 12 questions correctly or nine questions incorrectly.

“American citizenship is the most sacred citizenship in the world and should only be reserved for aliens who will fully embrace our values and principles as a nation,” USCIS spokesperson Matthew Tragesser said.

“By ensuring only those aliens who meet all eligibility requirements, including the ability to read, write, and speak English and understand U.S. government and civics are able to naturalize, the American people can be assured that those joining us as fellow citizens are fully assimilated and will contribute to America’s greatness,” Tragesser said.

“These critical changes are the first of many,” he added.

The latest version of the citizenship test includes topics that are fundamental to an understanding of American history and government, according to USCIS.

Questions among the 128 study points on the test guide include:

“Name one thing the U.S. Constitution does.”“Name one war fought by the United States in the 1800s.”“Thomas Jefferson is famous for many things. Name one.”“Why did the United States enter World War I?”“Name one example of an American innovation.”

The citizenship test is an oral exam and is given to aliens who have filed an application for naturalization. An alien has two opportunities to take and pass the test. If they fail twice, their application for citizenship will be denied. In fiscal year 2024, more than 94% of aliens passed the citizenship test, according to USCIS.

An alien can take the test in a language other than English only in a few circumstances, such as if an alien is 50 years of age or older and has lived in the U.S. as a lawful permanent resident for at least 20 years.

USCIS has already begun implementing some changes to the citizenship process since President Donald Trump returned to office in January, according to the agency, to include a more thorough vetting process for aliens and more stringent reviews of requests for disability exceptions to English language or civics requirements.

USCIS officers have also received guidance on vetting aliens by assessing moral character and contributions to society instead of only taking an absence of bad behavior into account.

“The agency is also resuming neighborhood investigations to ensure that aliens meet statutory requirements and are worthy of U.S. citizenship,” according to USCIS. “Other recent policies include clarifying that unlawfully voting, unlawfully registering to vote, and making false claims to U.S. citizenship disqualify aliens from showing good moral character.

Fed officials cut interest rate quarter-point after blocking Trump agenda for months

The Federal Reserve Board of Governors on Wednesday cut interest rates one-quarter of a point, establishing the benchmark at 4% to 4.25%, after blocking President Donald Trump’s economic agenda – building back America’s business interests, manufacturing and expansion, for months.

JUST ANNOUNCED: The Federal Reserve has just CUT RATES by 0.25%. Thanks, President Trump! #BullMarket

The Dow Jones Industrial Averages, which had been percolating in the mid to upper 45,000 range, promptly surged past 46,000 and actually closed the day there.

The reduction was the first from the controversial Fed operations since 2024.

Officials did signal the possibility for two more cuts later this year, reports confirmed.

“Recent indicators suggest that growth of economic activity moderated in the first half of the year,” said the Federal Open Market Committee. “Job gains have slowed, and the unemployment rate has edged up but remains low. Inflation has moved up and remains somewhat elevated.”

Stephen Miran, Trump’s newest Fed appointee, had wanted a half point cut. And Lisa Cook, under investigation on allegations of mortgage fraud and fighting Trump’s decision to fire her, voted with others for the quarter point cut.

The benchmark had been, before Wednesday’s announced, at 4.5% to 4.25%.

Interest rates had exploded to more than 9% under Joe Biden’s tenure in the White House, and Trump has been working to expand America’s economic base, return manufacture to its shores, obtain fair international trade agreements and much more while trying to keep inflation low and job creation up. Both of those figures have been moderate in recent assessments.

America’s housing industry, which has been stalled because of the interest rates mandated by Fed chief Jerome Powell, could start seeing an increase in activity because of Wednesday’s decision.

A Democrat lawmaker is expressing concern over the FBI’s new physical fitness standards, specifically calling attention to the physical differences between men and women.

During a hearing on Capitol Hill Tuesday, Sen. Mazie Hirono, D- Hawaii, questioned FBI Director Kash Patel on the FBI’s pullups requirements for special agents.

“You are now requiring applicants to be able to do a certain kind of pullups, which a lot of women cannot because of physiological differences,” Hirono said, before asking Patel to confirm the pullups requirement.

“We are requiring a physical program at [Basic Field Training Course] at Quantico because FBI agents carrying guns in the field have to chase down bad guys and do really hard work,” Patel said.

“We are requiring everybody to pass the 1811 standards of BFTC,” Patel said. “If you want to chase down a bad guy, and put him in handcuffs, you better be able to do a pullup.”

Starting in November, the FBI’s Physical Fitness Test will make pullups the first event for all candidates instead of sit-ups. Women are required to do at least one pullup and men are required to do 2-3 pullups. The approved pullup requires candidates to hang from a bar with their arms fully extended and pull themselves up until their chin is higher than the bar. Candidates are not permitted to use their legs to swing their body upward.

“Doing one pullup is not harsh or and there are always medical exceptions to that,” Patel told Hirono.

Social media users reacted to the exchange pointing out that Hirono had acknowledged that physical differences exist between men and women.

“So Hirono just ADMITTED there are physical difference between men and women??! INCREDIBLE,” conservative political commentator Nick Sortor wrote on X.

? JUST IN: Dem. Sen. Mazie Hirono is WHINING to Kash Patel, saying it’s “HARSH” to require women do pull-ups (like men) to join the FBI

“Sen. Mazie Hirono just admitted there’s a difference between men and women,” independent journalist Breanna Morello wrote on X. And social media user Dawn Miller responded to the exchange, writing, “the left can recognize physiological differences between males and females! I’ve been told male athletes have no advantage over female athletes. Curious, no?”

In addition to pullups, the FBI Physical Fitness Test for field agents includes situps, a timed 300-meter sprint, pushups, and a timed 1.5-mile run.
