September Wrap Up

Three-quarters of the year is gone already. Days are getting shorter and shorter. Nights are getting cooler and cooler. September is the month when we say goodbye to summer and hello to autumn, and I can’t help but welcome the change. I love the colors of fall. I also love that I can open the window in the exercise room and let in that crisp morning air while I’m on the treadmill. Gets me moving! And speaking of moving, let’s get on with the September Wrap Up.

The Books Authors Read | Beth Wiseman

Beth WisemanBeth Wiseman is the best-selling author of the Daughters of the Promise series and the Land of Canaan series. In her daring new novel, Wiseman jumps way outside the box. The Promise will take readers far away from Amish country and the small Texas towns of her previous releases to a dangerous place on the other side of...

Christian Fiction Wednesday is Taking a Short Break

A quick note to say that Christian Fiction Wednesdays is going on a hiatus for a month or two. My writing and revising schedule, added to a personal workload, made me decide not to remindauthors to send me their information about new releases. These posts often take awhile to put together, so I’ve decided to give myself a break. As soon as the load lightens, I’ll be chasing down new release info to help you find more great books to read. I promise.

In the meantime, I hope you’re looking forwar...

Up, Up, and Away to the ACFW National Conference

St. Louis

© EvanTravels / Dollar Photo Club

By the time most people read this post, there is a good chance that I will be in an airplane on my way to St. Louis or I will have already arrived there. It is time for the annual American Christian Fiction Writers’ national conference. I haven’t been to an ACFW conference in a number of years and am delighted to get to go again.

This year, I am being presentedwith ACFW’s highest award, the Lifetime Achievement Award. To say I am honored and humbled is an under...

Love Without End: “… a feel-good novel well worth reading”

Love Without EndForrest Gump’s mama said, “Lifeis like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.”

And I think the same thing could be said for book reviews. An author never knows what she’s going to get. They can be a mixed bag.

Which is why I was so delighted when the publicity gal at HarperCollins Christian Publishers forwarded a copy ofPublishers Weekly’s reviewofLove Without End.

I loved the synopsis because it was clear the reviewer got to know and understand the characters. But my favo...

Techie Tizzy

Regular readers know I’m a bit of a techie. Right? Turns out, this is a really big week for people like me.

ios8Yesterday, Apple released their new version of the operating system that runs iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches. Yes, I upgraded to iOS 8 at once. Yes, I like the new features I’m discovering. And there seems to be lots to discover.

Also yesterday,Amazon, without a whole lot of fanfare (or else I totally missed it), released several new Kindles: the Kindle Voyage (a new generation of the P...
