David Parker responds to G-A-Y: 'I stand behind all my positions/comments - except one'

Parker3Yesterday, I posted fifteen clips in which the star of all four state's ad campaigns, David Parker, supported the scientifically-discredited "ex-gay" movement, said he sees homosexuality as "bondage," said transgender people are embracing a moral and spiritual lie, accused gay people of using their children and/or families for political reasons, claimed the pro-equality voices who challenge him often possess a "deviant and devious psychology," equated pro-LGBT teaching with a sexual predator...

So what does Pastor Packett think of our marriages and their potential? Well here, check out this snip from his October 14 sermon (crumbling building image is his church's own doing):

[FULL SERMON: Foundations—Pastor Packett]

And yet somehow, my NYC apartment building still stands despite my and my husband's marriage. Miraculous! Our 1929-erected building must have been built to withsta...

Conservative Catholic denounces Pastor Anderson, Maryland Marriage Alliance

From the Institute of American Values' Family Scholars' blog:

As a Catholic Christian who supports the conception of marriage as between one man and one woman, I find Pastor Anderson’s abuse of Sacred Scripture appalling and his words gravely irresponsible. And I find it equally appalling and gravely irresponsible that the main director of the Maryland Marriage Alliance did not call out Pastor Anderson for his gravely irresponsible comments.

Harry Jackson: Marriage equality is 'manifestion (sic) of evil'—but Sandy's gonna kill 'the wicked' anyway

MN For Marriage makes video with Ake Green; so let's look at why Ake Green is a known person, shall we?

First, two points:

Ake Green only earned scrutiny after his sermon (to which he invited media) was reprinted in a local paper and deems to be incendiary
Sweden has hate speech laws; the United States does not and the marriage movement is not seeking any

Those truths out of the way, let's look at this little video that Minnesota For Marriage has created and branded, using Swedish pastor Ake Green as a martyr:

Okay, so the debate over his court case is one thing. I don't support hate speech laws; m...

NOM responds to 'worthy of death' pastor; jumps on the 'mischaracterized' bandwagon

As per usual, the anti-LGBT side rushes to messenger-shooting claims of "mischaracterization," even though I, the person who initially broke the story in question, posted the FULL TWO HOURS OF VIDEO:

"The statement by Dr. Anderson is being mischaracterized as implying that gays and lesbians are worthy of death. Dr. Anderson meant no such thing. But just to be clear, the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) does not and has never tolerated any statement that the bible justifies any act of v...

Audio: 15 clips of 4-state marriage star David Parker proving his true agenda (*hint: he sees homosexuality as a disease)

The marriage campaigns in Maine, Minnesota, Maryland, and Washington have all used him in their ads. So let's learn a little more about Massachusetts parent David Parker and the true extent of his views.

#1) He admits he sees homosexuality as a disease:

NOM's Thomas Peters can't wait to 'slay' the Washington activists

He's trying to explain away this headline on Twitter (notably, with my buddy Zack Ford of Think Progress). But I think the imagery is pretty darn clear:

Probably easy for Thomas to see this as metaphorical, since he has no real human stake in the outcome. It's all just a game for him—one that pays his bills.

For the human beings in Washington who are trying to protect their rights and families (aka the "Goliath" fighting for marriage in that state)? They probably don't take too kindly to "slay"...

'Baltimore Sun' *NAILS* Derek McCoy on that nutty marriage panel

This is epic:

SNIP: On Thursday, Derek McCoy, the chairman of the Maryland Marriage Alliance, the group spearheading the opposition to Question 6, issued a statement in response to the video, saying, "Throughout this campaign, we have been clear that all people are worthy of dignity and respect and that tolerance and acceptance of gay and lesbian friends and family does not mean that marriage should be redefined. … Supporting traditional marriage does not make anyone anti-gay."

The trouble is,...
