WATCH: Heartbroken mom reminds Maggie Gallagher of discrimination's real world harms
I have it on good word that Maggie Gallagher has been reflecting over the past year on the undeniable fallout that comes from work like the kind she has promoted over the past decade or more. This mother surely gave her more pause:
(*clip cued to right spot. If that doesn't work, it's 1:30:25)
I believe that you, Maggie, don't *want* to cause harm to the individual human person. But you have. And continue to.
Stop.
WA: Knights of Columbus chip in another $50K; top 6 donations from two out-of-state Catholic groups
This is getting ridiculous. The top six donations in Washington state now come from NOM and the Knights of Columbus, two Catholic outfits:
(*NOM has given an additional $20k donation)
Cash contributions [WA Reporting]
Well over one million bucks from one faith perspective. And only one that can claim WA as its state.
This thing is such a sham. A shame, too.
Flashback: That time Mitt Romney equated marriage equality decision with Dred Scott
NOM unwittingly shows inequality movement's grassroots deprivation
The National Organization For Marriage has a shiny website called "Stand For Marriage America" where one can go check out all of the resources that this one special interest group, working in tandem with campaign mastermind Frank Schubert, has crafted from its offices on D.C.'s K Street:
Honestly, I think this one of the more obtuse game moves NOM has made in this cycle. When one looks at the ad campaigns for each of the four states, one sees the same faces and storie...
Maryland Marriage Alliance's latest prayer sheet: 'In [God's] kingdom, same-sex marriage does not exist'
I've shown you some of the earlier ones, in which MD Marriage Alliance "Prayer Coordinator" Paul Schindler told supporters to pray against Satan's pro-equality agenda. Now here's the final round of campaign endorsed prayer targets (extending through election day) where our marriages are presented as both calamitous and a fiction to God:
FULL SHEET: Maryland Marriage Alliance
Well actually, pastor, same-sex marriage does exist. Right now. In the kingdom we call America. Just because you say some...
FRC distributes bulletin inserts to MN churches; says God rejects gay relationships, gays won't go to heaven
These Family Research Council–crafted bulletin inserts are making the rounds within Minnesota churches:

"God's plan" versus gay people's relationships? Weird—the Minnesota For Marriage campaign keeps insisting this is just about civil marriage, not any sort of animus. Guess their close allies didn't get the message.
But they never do get the message because the message is a lie. These campaigns are always about animus regardless of what the carefully workshopped campaign messaging dupes in...
An act (as in rehearsed routine). Of God (as in their anti-gay version thereof)
Because of course this has happened. Already:
Anti-Gay Preacher Blames Hurricane Sandy On Homosexuality And Marriage Equality [ThinkProgress]
October 27, 2012
Hey, Minnesota for Marriage, why'd you leave out the rabbis' more extreme condemnations?
The so-called Minnesota For Marriage coalition has issued the following statement, purported to be the representative Jewish view on equality:
But here's the interesting part. Back in February, the same rabbis who head up the above statement issued a very similar statement, written in the same template. Only thing? This earlier statement went much further and admitted that the rabbis are not only against marriage equality but also "HOMOSEXUAL ACTS":
It's obvio...

Video: Teen in red state condemns gay people—and that makes him a 'traditional marriage' victim!?
There is much debate about what really happened in the Dakota Ary incident. What we know for sure, according to everyone's admission, is that the teenager made his anti-gay positions known whole sitting in a public school classroom. However, there are conflicting reports about the extent of his condemnations. That Dakota and his family chose the rabidly anti-LGBT Liberty Counsel for legal leadership certainly doesn't speak to tolerance.
But regardless of just how anti-gay young Dakota was on t...
