Video: Delaware pastors hope their faith opinions, beliefs, choices get to control (/limit) shared civil policy

Here now, thirty-five minutes of Delaware pastors denying we are born gay; suggesting our unions will lead to polygamy; reducing our sexual orientations to "changeable" "behaviors" and "lifestyle choices;" denying our fight is a civil rights struggle; saying our civil marriages "argue against the course of human history;" framing our equality as something that will erode the American family; pitting our happiness against the welfare of children; and throwing just about every personally-held,...

Baptist pastor compares Jason Collins's sexuality to adult club signs, Ty Cobb's violent racism

The first openly gay NBA player is to be equated with Pete Rose while he was gambling an Ty Cobb while he was displaying violent racism. So says this Baptist Press writer:

Imageserverdb.Asp-2

"I agree that it is a landmark moment, but it is a sad and troubling landmark that has now been set upon the landscape of professional sports and our culture -- like those lurid adult club signs that mar and pockmark the beauty of the natural scenery alongside interstate highways."

"Telling [Jason] Collins to embrace his sin...

Audio: Pastor kicks off pro-discrimination event by equating inclusive Scouts to termites #standstrongBSA

The Family Research Council's event designed to keep the Boys Scouts just kicked off (at 7pmEST). Pastor Robert Hall, who has many hostile things on record, began the event by saying we are in the last days, gays are "deviant," and the whole BSA situation is kind of like termites damaging a house:

Boy Scouts force anti-gay coalition to change logo

John Stemberger's "On My Honor" coalition is pretending it's a good thing. But it's clear they were forced to create this "new and improved" logo, sans its past BSA branding:

[On MY Honor email]

I'm not surprised that this coalition is defiant even in compliance. This whole anti-equality BSA campaign is defined by claiming ownership of things that they do not fully control. They probably are genuinely shocked that they don't get to use trademarks for their own purposes, just like they are surpr...

Video: Brian Brown continues to write off any state 'too blue' to be part of real America

Twenty percent of our states (plus D.C.) now have civil marriage equality. Polls are heading one decided way. More than half of our U.S. Senators support full equality. And of yeah, America re-elected a President who is a fierce advocate on the issue.

But Brian Brown is still winning. Yeah huh! Here, he'll tell you so, coupled with an attempt to portray states like Washington, Maine, and Maryland as something other than American:

Oh, and on that last part about what motivates him? Keep in mind...

Rest, good civil servant—this Bishop's personal religious opinion can't hurt your rights now

Calling it "a serious regression in the public morality of our state," Rhode Island's Archbishop Tobin is doing what our national body of Bishops now pretty much do as their definitive public work: condemning gay people's civil marriage rights. Tobin says of his state's just-signed marriage bill:

First, like many others, I am profoundly disappointed that Rhode Island has approved legislation that seeks to legitimize “same-sex marriage.” The Catholic Church has fought very hard to oppose this...

Audio: Matt Barber tells nat'l radio audience that gays 'are in rebellion to God'; is somehow still the 'victim'

Matt Barber continues his game of telling LGBT people they are broken and immoral by insisting that we "know" we are what he says we are:

Janet Mefferd Show, 5/2/13

Matt is using a corrosive strategy that those of us on the side of peace pinpointed long ago. While speaking on Apartheid in South Africa (which he directly compares to modern persecution of gays), LGBT ally Desmond Tutu said it like this:

"Language is very powerful, language does not just describe reality, language creates the reali...
