Delaware Family Policy Council supporters speak out: Gays are like 'pig slop', going to get it in the end

From the Delaware Family Policy Council's Facebook post mourning today's win for civil freedom:

Wouldn't it be really hard to "slice" pig slop? Just asking.

One New Yorker pushing the lie that 'every New Yorker is living the lie'

This is an outrageous lie:

"In New York, we were promised that the religious freedom amendment to our same-sex marriage legislation would do the job," said the Rev. Jason McGuire, CEO of the New Yorker's Family Research Foundation. "Our legislators bought the lie and today every New Yorker is living the lie." [TwinCities.com]

I, a legally married gay man, live in New York. I have family and friends (from all political perspectives) scattered throughout the state. I follow New York news as close...

Delaware Family Policy Council working to ban divorce, penalize single parents, make reproduction a marital requirement (apparently)

Since all of the "protect marriage" arguments that they repeated for more than a decade have pretty much proven to be failures, the organized far-right is placing all of its bets on this strategy:

We ran down the holes in the logic yesterday. I'm not going to rehash it again.

If the other side wants to keep making points (and stock photo memes) that do not at all pertain to the policy of civil marriage licensing and framing the fair application of that right to same-sex couples as if it'...

NOM's new social media meme: Attacking gay people's marriages as 'based on a lie'

Their denigration of our families is now on full blast. This is an actual image that the National Organization For Marriage is encouraging its supporters to share:

It's just nasty. And mean. They are no longer telling us that they find our legal protections objectionable but are working instead to tell society that the very basis of our couplings is something other than true. That is now NOM's business. That is what they sell.

'The New Yorker' salutes Mothers' (note the apostrophe) Day

I suspect we are just a few years away form covers and cover stories like this one being thoroughly unremarkable. But they will still be beautiful then, as they are now:

Now that the numbers are in on same-sex marriage, many Republicans are falling like dominos all over themselves to express their support for something that only a few months ago they steadfastly claimed to stand against. They’ll probably soon claim that this is how they felt all along, and they were simply too hamstrung by pol...

No, NOM Comm. Director, we answer—you just don't listen. (#StrawmenNOMstaffersThinkAreMoreCompellingThanTheyAre)

(1) Reproduction is not a marital requirement. Unless our dedicated opposition movement wants to make it a requirement, they cannot make questions regarding parenthood the key questions that those of us who advocate for civil marriage equality must answer.

(2) Family structures of all kinds exist. Some families with a single parent thrive and some families with a single parent struggle. Some families with a mom and a dad thrive and some families with a mom and a dad struggle. Some families wit...

Robert Gagnon tries to make me look bad—by again equating my 'practice' with incest

You might remember my post from last week, where I shared an email that Rob Gagnon, theologian and annual speaker at the National Organization For Marriage's "It Takes a Family" conference, sent to a list of social conservatives. In that email, Mr. Gagnon smeared me and did his usual schtick of making gay people seem perverted. And at at one point in his message, he definitely (by all accounts) stated that "homosexual practice" is worse than incest and seemingly (by my read) threw bestiality...

Good on the lawmaker! Bad on those who didn't even want to hear what he had to say. We'll remember that the next time the IFI and allies accuse us of wanting to s...
