Minnesota either attacked by aliens, hijacked by terrorists, or blessed with marriage equality; you decide
When his organization used the state legislature to pass a (voter-rejected) marriage amendment, it was just fair practice. But when those in favor of equal civil rights for taxpayers in same-sex relationships passed marriage equality bill? Why is was a "hostile takeover," don't 'cha know?
So says MFC president Tom Prichard:
"Polls at the beginning of the legislative session showed the majority of Minnesotans support traditional marriage,"…"and one poll showed only 38 percent supported redefinin...
Video: Illinois' top anti-equality group rallies by saying gays have 'deviant sexual lifestyle', are 'offense to nature and nature's God'
The Illinois Family Institute is the official organization lobbying against marriage equality in the Land of Lincoln. Here now, more jaw-dropping evidence of how deep their animus runs.
Hit it, Peter LaBarbera:
(*The guy standing right behind Peter is IFI president David Smith, the chief voice for the anti-equality side)

Brian Brown's new one: Marriage equality 'damages society'
He's mad, condemnatory, and already vowing to spend money on efforts to ruin people's careers:
“The people of Minnesota did not vote for gay marriage in 2012,”…“They voted to maintain traditional marriage by maintaining the status quo. Our opponents bought a victory by claiming that marriage was not under threat of redefinition, but in fact they always intended to redefine it at the soonest possible moment. Legislators who voted to redefine marriage were foolish to do so. They cast a terrible...
MN For Marriage's onetime top guy, Andy Parrish, tweets at congressman, accuses him of not paying child support
If you followed the November "Minnesota For Marriage" campaign, you surely know about deputy campaign manager Andy Parrish and the over-the-top antics that helped our side immensely. Now there's this exchange with U.S. Congressman Keith Ellison:
Sore.

Rep. Bachmann reminds MN of overplayed hand that helped us get to victory
It's a great for equality. Someone who built her local and then national profiles around the issue wants to remind you of her outsized role:
Right, Congresswoman. You introduced it and then began saying homosexuality is "part of Satan I think" and comparing lawmakers who don't support marriage amendments to soldiers who missed Pearl Harbor's warning signs.
Thanks for the boost you unwittingly gave us. Truly.

BREAKING: Minnesota passes equality; 37–30
FINAL PASSAGE in the Senate!
Gov. Dayton is expected to sign as soon as tomorrow!
We got ourselves a dozen equality states, kiddos (*plus D.C.).

Photo: Marriage equality opponent digs marriage's grave
Political reporter Patrick Kessler just tweeted this image from outside Minnesota's Capitol:
So at least we're keeping things rational and in proper perspective.
*UPDATE: This would-be gravedigger, Don Lee, ran for the Minnesota House of Representatives back in '10. His website is here.

Poor NOM has another stock photo fail
NOM made this meme for Mother's Day:
Only thing? According to the stock photo description, this isn't a mother and daughter, at least not necessarily. The photo is described as being a bride and her bridesmaid:
The bridesmaid could be a daughter, born either before this pending marriage or while part of a prior union. But if that's the case, is that really what this "traditional marriage" group wants to push as it's Mother's Day meme?
Tip to NOM: Start using real photos of you, your supporters,...
FRC dismisses quarter of the nation as 'low hanging fruit'
With Minnesota expected to pass marriage equality today, our tally is nearing the dozen state mark (plus D.C.). But that is all meaningless, cries the the anti-gay Family Research Council, since most of those states are too "progressive" to qualify as part of FRC's real America:
With liberal states falling like dominos, Americans must be wondering if this is the end of the road for marriage.
Well, it's not--and here's why. If you look at the dozen states with same-sex "marriage," homosexual ac...
